Abstract

Neural network is a powerful learning paradigm for data feature learning in the era of big data. However, most neural network models are deterministic models that ignore the uncertainty of data. Fuzzy neural networks are proposed to address this problem. FDNN is a hierarchical deep neural network that derives information from both fuzzy and neural representations, the representations are then fused to form representation to be classified. FDNN perform well on uncertain data classification tasks. In this paper, we proposed a novel hierarchical fused quantum fuzzy neural network (HQFNN). Different from classical FDNN, HQFNN uses quantum neural networks to learn fuzzy membership functions in fuzzy neural network. We conducted simulated experiment on two types of datasets (Dirty-MNIST and 15-Scene), the results show that the proposed model can outperform several existing methods. In addition, we demonstrate the robustness of the proposed quantum circuit.

10. Effect of exciton-phonon coupling on the interlayer excitons in transition metal dichalcogenides double layers

Abstract

We investigate the correction of interlayer exciton binding energy in transition metal dichalcogenides double layers arising from the exciton-optical phonon coupling using the method of Lee-Low-Pines unitary transformation. We find that the binding energy varies in several tens of meV, depending on the polarizability of materials and interlayer distance between double layers. Moreover, the correction of binding energy results in the remarkable increasing of the critical temperature for the condensation of dilute excitonic gas basing on the Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless model. These results not only enrich the knowledge for the modulation of interlayer exciton, but also provide potential insights for the Bose-Einstein condensation and superfluid transport of interlayer exciton in two-dimensional heterostructures., Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures

Abstract

We theoretically investigate the corrections of exciton binding energy in monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) due to the exciton-optical phonon coupling in the Fr$\ddot{o}$hlich interaction model by using the linear operator combined Lee-Low-Pines variational method. We not only consider the excitons couple with the intrinsic longitudinal optical (LO) phonon modes, but also the surface optical phonon modes that induced by the polar substrates underneath the TMDs. We find that exciton binding energies are corrected in a large scale due to these exciton-optical phonon couplings. We discuss the dependences of exciton binding energy on the cut-off wave vector of optical phonon modes, the polarization parameters of materials and the interlayer distance between the polar substrates and TMDs. These results provide potential explanations for the divergence of the exciton binding energy between experiment and theory in TMDs.

Abstract

Transient surface electric fields induced by femtosecond laser irradiation of an aluminum film were investigated directly by ultrashort electron pulses. At pump intensities of 2.9~7.1 * 10^10 W/cm2, the transient electric fields last at least one nanosecond with a maximum field strength of 3.2~5.3 * 10^4 V/m at 120 micro m above the aluminum surface. The transient electric fields and the associated evolution of photoelectrons were explained by a "three-layer" model. Abstract

The ultrafast structure dynamics and surface transient electric field, which are concurrently induced by laser excited electrons of an aluminum nanofilm, have been investigated simultaneously by the same transmission electron diffraction patterns. These two processes are found to be significantly different and distinguishable by tracing the time dependent changes of electron diffraction and deflection angles, respectively. Abstract

High-speed grinding (HSG) is an advanced technology for precision machining of difficult-to-cut materials in aerospace and other fields, which could solve surface burns, defects and improve surface integrity by increasing the linear speed of the grinding wheel. The advantages of HSG have been preliminarily confirmed and the equipment has been built for experimental research, which can achieve a high grinding speed of more than 300 m/s. However, it is not yet widely used in manufacturing due to the insufficient understanding on material removal mechanism and characteristics of HSG machine tool. To fill this gap, this paper provides a comprehensive overview of HSG technologies. A new direction for adding auxiliary process in HSG is proposed. Firstly, the combined influence law of strain hardening, strain rate intensification, and thermal softening effects on material removal mechanism was revealed, and models of material removal strain rate, grinding force and grinding temperature were summarized. Secondly, the constitutive models under high strain rate boundaries were summarized by considering various properties of material and grinding parameters. Thirdly, the change law of material removal mechanism of HSG was revealed when the thermodynamic boundary conditions changed, by introducing lubrication conditions such as minimum quantity lubrication (MQL), nano-lubricant minimum quantity lubrication (NMQL) and cryogenic air (CA). Finally, the mechanical and dynamic characteristics of the key components of HSG machine tool were summarized, including main body, grinding wheel, spindle and dynamic balance system. Based on the content summarized in this paper, the prospect of HSG is put forward. This study establishes a solid foundation for future developments in the field and points to promising directions for further exploration.

Abstract

Minimum quantity lubrication (MQL), which considers the cost, sustainability, flexibility, and quality, has been actively explored by scholars. Nanoadditive phases have been widely investigated as atomizing media for MQL, aimed at enhancing the heat transfer and friction reduction performance of vegetable-oil-based biolubricants. However, the industrial application of nano-enhanced biolubricants (NEBL) in grinding wheels and workpiece interfaces as a cooling and lubricating medium still faces serious challenges, which are attributed to the knowledge gap in the current mapping between the properties and grindability of NEBL. This paper presents a comprehensive literature review of research developments in NEBL grinding, highlighting the key challenges, and clarifies the application of blind spots. Firstly, the physicochemical properties of the NEBL are elaborated from the perspective of the base fluid and nanoadditive phase. Secondly, the excellent grinding performance of the NEBL is clarified by its distinctive film formation, heat transfer, and multiple-field mobilization capacity. Nanoparticles with high thermal conductivity and excellent extreme-pressure film-forming properties significantly improved the high-temperature and extreme-friction conditions in the grinding zone. Furthermore, the sustainability of applying small amounts of NEBL to grinding is systematically evaluated, providing valuable insights for the industry. Finally, perspectives are proposed to address the engineering and scientific bottlenecks of NEBL. This review aims to contribute to the understanding of the effective mechanisms of NEBL and the development of green grinding technologies.

29. Preparation and Properties of Triblock Cross Polyurethane Elastomers.

Abstract

Polyurethane elastomer (PUE) is generally composed of soft and hard segments. The soft segment is usually a single polyol structure, and the hard segment is formed from the reaction of isocyanate and chain extender. If two kinds of polyols with obviously different structures are used, triblock cross PUE with two soft segment structures can be prepared. Polyurethane prepolymers were synthesized by the reaction of hydroxyl polybutadiene (HTPB) and polyoxypropylene glycol (PPG) with toluene diisocyanate (TDI), respectively. The two prepolymers were mixed according to the ratio and then expanded by 1, 4-cyclohexanedimethanol (CHDM) to prepare a series of triblock cross PUEs. The structural, mechanical and thermal properties of PUE were characterized. The results showed that when the total content of soft segments containing PPG and HTPB in PUEs was among 54.2%~55.4%, the proportion of HTPB in soft segments had great influences on the mechanical properties and microstructure of PUEs. With the increase of the proportion of HTPB segment in the soft segments, the hardness, specific strength and elongation at break of PUEs first increased and then decreased. When the proportion of HTPB in the soft segment was 20.18%, the specific strength, the elongation at break, and the hardness of PUE reached 18.44 MPa/(g/cm³), 404.6% and 32 Shore D, respectively. Abstract

The Bell test, as an important method for detecting nonlocality, is widely used in device-independent quantum information processing tasks. The security of these tasks is based on an assumption called measurement independence. Since this assumption is difficult to be guaranteed in practical Bell tests, it is meaningful to consider the effect of reduced measurement independence (i.e., measurement dependence) on Bell tests. Some research studies have shown that nonlocality can be detected even if measurement dependence exists. However, the relevant results are all based on bipartite Bell tests, and the results for multipartite Bell tests are still missing. In this paper, we explore this problem in the tripartite Svetlichny test. By considering flexible lower and upper bounds on the degree of measurement dependence, we obtain the relation among measurement dependence, guessing probability, and the maximal value of Svetlichny inequality. Our results reveal the case in which genuine nonlocality is nonexistent; at this point, the outcomes of the Bell test cannot be applied in device-independent quantum information processing tasks. Abstract

Objectives: Despite the development of various cancer treatment methods, chemotherapy remains the most common approach for treating cancer. The risk of tumors acquiring resistance to chemotherapy remains a significant hurdle to the successful treatment of various types of cancer. Therefore, overcoming or predicting multidrug resistance in clinical treatment is essential. The detection of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) is an important component of liquid biopsy and the diagnosis of cancer. This study aims to test the feasibility of single-cell bioanalyzer (SCB) and microfluidic chip technology in identifying patients with cancer resistant to chemotherapy and propose new methods to provide clinicians with new choices. Methods: In this study, we used rapidly isolated viable CTCs from the patient blood samples method combined with SCB technology and a novel microfluidic chip, to predict whether patients with cancer are resistant to chemotherapy. SCB and microfluidic chip were used to select single CTCs, and the accumulation of chemotherapy drug was fluorescently measured in real time on these cells in the absence and presence of permeability-glycoprotein inhibitors. Results: Initially, we successfully isolated viable CTCs from the blood samples of patients. Additionally, the present study accurately predicted the response of 4 lung cancer patients to chemotherapeutic drugs. In addition, the CTCs of 17 patients with breast cancer diagnosed at Zhuhai Hospital of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine were assessed. The results indicated that 9 patients were sensitive to chemotherapeutic drugs, 8 patients were resistant to a certain degree, and only 1 was completely resistant to chemotherapy. Conclusion: The present study indicated that the SCB technology could be used as a prognostic assay to evaluate the CTCs response to available drugs and guide physicians to treatment options that are most likely to be effective.
