A simulated interconnect/contact/cathode/cathode support test cell is fabricated to investigate the effectiveness of the high‐entropy alloy as the contact material on the microstructure and the performance of the converted spinel‐based layer. Although the CuMnNiFeCo alloy powder is selected as the contact precursor, it showed good sinterability after sintering at 900°C for 2 h in air. The electrical performance of the contact layer is evaluated by the area‐specific resistance measurement, including isothermal exposure and thermal cycling. The compatibility of the contact layer with adjacent components is investigated through observing the cross‐sectional view of the test cell. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the contact layer in inhibiting Cr migration is also assessed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Metallic interconnect oxidation has a significant influence on shear strength between interconnect and sealing glass in SOFC stack operation. This is attributed to high‐temperature mutual wettability. In this work, the glass having different crystallization kinetics was chosen to evaluate wettability and shear strength on Fe–16Cr alloy, which was heated treated at 750°C for 0, 50, and 100 h, forming oxide scale with a varying rough surface. Visual observation was used to quantify equilibrium contact angles between glass and substrates. The results illustrated that alloy oxidized for 50 h exhibited better wettability and shear strength, implying that thickness and roughness of the oxide scale are critical to enhancing interface joint strength. Long‐term testing indicated that thermally stable glass possesses higher joint shear strength and more consistent properties. It was found that precipitated crystalline phases limited improvement of glass wettability, resulting in interfacial delamination of the glass/alloy layer over long‐term operation. Lu3Al5O12:Ce3+ phosphor powder, which exhibits green emission band, was synthesized by the high-temperature solid-state reaction method with a flux BaF2. X-ray diffraction (XRD), photoluminescence (PL) spectra, and fluorescent lifetime spectra were used to characterize the structure and luminescent properties of the sample. The XRD patterns indicated that when prepared at 1550 °C for 3 h with 4 wt% flux, Lu3Al5O12:Ce3+ phosphors powder is the garnet cubic crystal system structure. Photoluminescence (PL) spectra showed that the Lu3Al5O12:Ce3+ phosphor powder can be effectively excited by near ultraviolet and blue light, emitting broad band peaking at 505 nm, which is attributed to 2F5/2 → 2D5/2 transition. The self-concentration quenching mechanism of Ce3+ is the dipole-dipole interaction. Small amount of Pr3+ increased red light emission at 610 nm. Photoluminescence (PL) spectra and fluorescent lifetime spectra indicated that there was an efficient energy transfer process between Ce3+ and Pr3+. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
