Bauhinia glauca subsp. hupehana (Craib) T. C. Chen 1988, a member of the Leguminosae family, Cercidoideae subfamily, and Bauhinia genus, has a rich history of traditional usage in Chinese medicine. Renowned for its analgesic properties, it is commonly employed for managing inflammation and pain. This study aimed to sequence the complete chloroplast genome of B. glauca subsp. hupehana using Illumina paired-end sequencing data. The chloroplast genome spans 156,967 bp and consists of four main regions: the large single-copy (LSC) region (89,185 bp), the small single-copy (SSC) region (19,146 bp), and a pair of inverted repeats (IRs) (24,318 bp). The overall GC content of the chloroplast genome is 36.19%, with specific values of 33.99%, 29.79%, and 42.76% for the LSC, SSC, and IR regions, respectively. A total of 128 genes were annotated in the chloroplast genome, including 83 protein-coding genes, 37 tRNA genes, and eight rRNA genes. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that B. glauca subsp. hupehana is closely related to Bauhinia racemose, indicating a sister taxon relationship between the two species. This study significantly contributes to the chloroplast genomic resource for Bauhinia, laying the groundwork for future phylogenetic investigations within the genus. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Accurate Li isotope analysis of silicate glasses using secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) is challenging due to the matrix effect, which causes instrumental mass fractionation (IMF). The characteristics of the matrix effect vary for each element, necessitating empirical correction methods. Here, we present Li isotopic measurements on a set of silicate glasses spanning a broad compositional range from ultramafic to highly siliceous using a Cameca NanoSIMS 50L. A radio-frequency (RF)-O primary beam with an intensity of 1 nA was rastered over a 5 × 5 μm2 area on the sample, and the secondary ions 6Li, 7Li and 30Si were simultaneously detected. We observed a significant matrix effect on δ7Li in the silicate glasses, which yielded an IMF of up to 19‰, exceeding the analytical precision of <2.5‰ (1SD). The IMF is strongly correlated with the chemical compositions of the silicate glasses. To correct the matrix effect, we employed various correction schemes, including univariate and multivariable compositions. All results consistently indicated that silica exerted a dominant influence on the IMF. We then propose a straightforward "online" method to correct this silica-related matrix effect by utilizing simultaneously measured 30Si signals. This strategy improves the accuracy of the Li isotope measurements to within 3‰ and can be widely applied to anhydrous subalkaline magmatic glasses with compositions ranging from ultramafic to highly siliceous. Proposed a network reliability allocation method based on AGREE allocation method using Monte Carlo simulation and heuristic algorithm. It completed the simulation calculation for network components importance and network reliability, and allocates reliability via heuristic algorithm. The method is suitable for complex topology network reliability allocation, and can effectively solve the problem of the computational complexity of network components. In a case of CERNET network, this method was used to achieve the allocation of the reliability of 75% network node connectivity. In order to study and lay down the test methods of special vehicle handling performance and stability, the test method of special vehicle handling and stability is set up by considering the characteristics of special vehicle on the basis of the test methods in GB and ISO. The key parameters of vehicle handling and stability test are determined and analyzed through special vehicle dynamics modeling, handling and stability simulation, data processing and score evaluation. Based on this method, the test of sample vehicle is completed. Background: Adjuvant radiation therapy is commonly administered to breast cancer patients who received breast-conserving surgery. However, lengthy treatment times of standard radiotherapy pose certain challenges. Here, we performed a prospective controlled study comparing standard radiation to hypofractionated radiotherapy in terms of efficacy and outcome., Material and Methods: Eighty breast cancer patients (tumor stage pT1-2N0-1M0) who had undergone breast-conservation surgery were randomly divided into 2 groups (40 patients/group). The experimental group received 43.2 Gy to the whole breast in 18 fractions for 24 days with a concomitant boost (50.4 Gy) to the tumor bed. The control group received 45 Gy to the whole breast in 25 fractions for 44 days with a boost to the tumor bed of 59 Gy. Survival, locoregional recurrence, adverse effects, and aesthetic results were all considered for analysis., Results: The following criteria were included as part of study follow-up: local control, survival, adverse skin reactions, cosmetic outcome, and hematological toxicity. At a median follow-up of 27 months (follow-up rate 100%), there were no statistical differences in any of the categories between the 2 groups. The 2-year survival rate of both groups was 100% without any locoregional recurrence. Although there was some skin toxicity, these instances were not severe and they cleared on their own within 6 weeks. The most common problems encountered by patients were breast fibrosis and altered pigmentation., Conclusions: A shortened whole-breast hypofractionated irradiation schedule with a concomitant boost is as effective as standard radiation and may be a reasonable alternative following breast conservation surgery.

Objective: To evaluate the long term effects of adjuvant radiotherapy for postoperative breast cancer., Methods: From 1985 to 1986, 162 patients with operable breast cancer were randomly given adjuvant radiotherapy according to clinical stage and involving condition of axillary lymph nodes (LN). The radiotherapy group (RG) was irradiated in the supraclavicular area and/or internal mammary area to 50 Gy, while the control group (CG) was not., Results: The overall 5-, 10- and 15-year survival rates of the RG were 72.0%, 56.1% and 54.3%, while they were 66.3%, 51.3% and 49.4% in the CG (P > 0.05). Clinical stage I-IIIa and positive or negative LN showed no significant difference in the two groups. But in patients with LN(+) > or = 4, the 5-, 10- and 15-year survival rates of the RG were 55.6%, 38.9% and 37.1%, which were higher than the CG of 29.0%, 16.1% and 16.1% (P < 0.05)., Conclusion: Adjuvant radiotherapy can improve the prognosis for breast cancer patients with LN(+) > or = 4, but not for LN(-).
