17. On focal submanifolds of isoparametric hypersurfaces and Simons formula

Abstract

The focal submanifolds of isoparametric hypersurfaces in spheres are all minimal Willmore submanifolds, mostly being $\mathcal{A}$-manifolds in the sense of A.Gray but rarely Ricci-parallel (\cite{QTY},\cite{LY},\cite{TY3}). In this paper we study the geometry of the focal submanifolds via Simons formula. We show that all the focal submanifolds with $g\geq3$ are not normally flat by estimating the normal scalar curvatures. Moreover, we give a complete classification of the semiparallel submanifolds among the focal submanifolds., Comment: 12 pages, all comments are welcomed

It is naturally resistant to vancomycin and is difficult to identify using traditional methods, which may lead to misidentification and delay treatment.Case Presentation: We present a case of a 42-year-old male patient with gastrointestinal bleeding and coronary heart disease who developed sepsis caused by Weissella confusa. The patient’s blood cultures showed the presence of gram-positive coccobacilli, later identified as W. confusa through matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS). Antimicrobial susceptibility testing revealed that W. confusa had low minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) for some drugs (eg, ampicillin) and higher MICs for others (eg, cefotaxime). Empirical treatment with vancomycin was initially started, but after obtaining the identification and susceptibility results, the treatment was switched to meropenem combined with daptomycin, resulting in a successful outcome.Conclusion: Weissella confusa bacteremia is relatively rare, and accurate pathogenic diagnosis is essential for effective clinical treatment.Keywords: Weissella confusa, bacterial identification, 16S rRNA, matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry

Abstract

In this paper, using hyperspectral imaging technology combined with feature variable optimization algorithm, the method of rapid detection of potato starch content was explored. The spectral pretreatment uses 10 methods such as de-trend and first derivative, second derivative and so on. Through comparative analysis, it is determined that the combination of de-trend and first derivative is the best. The spectral data preprocessed by the de-trend method combined with first derivative method were used to optimize the characteristic wavelength variables by four algorithms: Competitive adaptive reweighted sampling (CARS), Random-frog (RF), Iterative reserved information variable (IRIV), and Interval combin optimization (ICO). The partial least squares regression models CARS-PLS, RF-PLS, IRIV-PLS and ICO-PLS were established one by one for the selected characteristic variables. The results show that the number of characteristic wavelength variables optimized by ICO algorithm is at least 16, the prediction accuracy of ICO-PLS model is the highest, the determinant coefficients of prediction set is 0.8255, and the error is 0.1697. ICO algorithm is a new algorithm to improve the accuracy of spectral detection prediction model. It provides theoretical methods and technical support for the study of the detection accuracy of potato starch content.

40. Selective Catalytic Removal of High Concentrations of NO x at Low Temperature.

Abstract

Three vanadium-based catalysts were used to remove high concentrations of nitrogen oxides, and the catalysts' performance of de-NOx and anti-H2O under the high concentrations of NOx were investigated. The V-Mo-W/TiO2 catalysts were tested under 1500 mL/min gas flow (GHSV = 500 h−1, 2.4% NO2, 4.78% NH3, 13% O2, 4% H2O, 5% CO2) and characterized by BET, SEM, EDS, XRD, XPS, H2-TPR, and NH3-TPD; then, their physical and chemical properties were analyzed. The results showed that under the influence of H2O, the NOx conversion of the V-Mo-W/TiO2 catalysts remained above 97% at 200–280 °C indicating that the catalysts had high catalytic activity and strong water resistance. The analysis of the characterization results showed that the larger specific surface area of the catalyst, the higher acid content, stronger redox ability, and higher V4+ and V3+ content were the reasons for the high NOx conversion. The surface area decreased and the microstructure become smoother after the reaction, which may be caused by thermal sintering, but the overall morphology did not change. Comparing the H2-TPR and NH3-TPD of V1.6Mo1.7W1.8/TiO2 before and after NH3-SCR reaction, it was found that the reduction peak and the intensity of the acid sites of the sample had not changed, which indicated that the catalyst had good anti-sintering performance and a long lifetime.
