Two-dimensional (2D) materials are known to be useful in catalysis. Engineering 3D bulk materials into the 2D form can enhance the exposure of the active edge sites, which are believed to be the origin of the high catalytic activity. Reported herein is the production of 2D 'few-layer' antimony (Sb) nanosheets by cathodic exfoliation. Application of this 2D engineering method turns Sb, an inactive material for CO2 reduction in its bulk form, into an active 2D electrocatalyst for reduction of CO2 to formate with high efficiency. The high activity is attributed to the exposure of a large number of catalytically active edge sites. Moreover, this cathodic exfoliation process can be coupled with the anodic exfoliation of graphite in a single-compartment cell for in situ production of a few-layer Sb nanosheets and graphene composite. Abstract: A novel photoelectrochemical sensor is fabricated by a convenient surface modification of molecularly imprinted polymer on highly ordered and vertically aligned TiO2 nanotube arrays. As-prepared sensor (denoted as MIP@TiO2 NTAs) is highly sensitive to perfluorooctane sulfonate in water samples, with a linear range from 0.5 to 10μM and a limit of detection of 86ngmL−1 (S/N=3). Moreover, the perfluorooctane sulfonate MIP@TiO2 NTA photoelectrochemical sensor exhibits outstanding selectivity. Twenty times 2,4-dichorophenoxyacetic acid, anthracene-9-carboxylic acid, and pentachlorophenol, or two times perfluoroheptanoic acid and perfluorooctanoic do not interfere the determination of perfluorooctane sulfonate. The practical application of the photoelectrochemical sensor is also realized in the selective determination of perfluorooctane sulfonate in water samples. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

In this paper, tris(2,3-dibromopropyl) isocyanurate (TBC) is for the first time as far as we know determined by ultrasensitive photoelectrochemical (PEC) immunoassay using an antibody-modified ternary hybrid CdTe/Au–TiO2 nanotube arrays (NTAs) photoelectrode, developed by the pulse electrodeposition technique. The as-prepared hybrid shows enhanced photon absorption and photocurrent response, which subsequently increased the photoelectrical conversion efficiency in the visible region. TBC-antibody (Ab) was developed in rabbits as a result of immunization with the BSA–TBC conjugate and covalently cross-linked onto the CdTe/Au–TiO2 NTAs. Since the photocurrent is highly dependent on the TiO2 surface properties, the specific interaction between TBC and the antibody results in a sensitive change in the photocurrent, which displayed a linear range of 5.0 × 10−11 to 5.0 × 10−5 M and a low detection limit of 5.0 × 10−11 M for TBC determination. This proposed strategy highlights the application of TiO2 nanotube in visible-light-activated photoelectrochemical biosensing, which could largely reduce the destructive effect of UV light on biomolecules. Abstract: A perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS, C8F17SO3 −) molecularly imprinted (MIP) fluorescence sensor was developed by anchoring the MIP polymer on the surface of SiO2 NPs via a surface molecular imprinting process. Fluorescence dye and organic amine were covalently immobilized onto the surface of MIP–SiO2 NPs to form a hybrid monolayer of dye fluorophores and amine ligands which acted as the receptor sites to bind PFOS(C8F17SO3 −) species through the acid–base pairing and hydrogen-bond interaction under acid condition (pH∼3.5). The specific binding of PFOS into the recognition cavities in the polymer matrixes results in the fluorescence quenching due to the electron transfer from the fluorescence dye to PFOS. This proposed method can selectively and sensitively detect down to 5.57μgL−1 of PFOS in water, and a linear relationship has been obtained covering the concentration range of 5.57–48.54μgL−1 (10.36–90.2nM). Abstract: A novel photocatalyst is prepared by pulse-electrodeposition of ternary Cu–Zn–S nanoparticles of 2.3eV bandgap onto the surface of TiO2 nanotube array films. Under AM1.5G illumination the Cu–Zn–S sensitized TiO2 nanotube arrays (Cu–Zn–S/TiO2 NTAs) exhibit a significantly increased capability for photocatalytic degradation of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) and anthracene-9-carboxylic acid (9-AnCOOH). After 150min illumination 100% of 2,4-D is removed, compared to 51.8% using the non-sensitized TiO2 NTAs; while after 60min illumination 100% of 9-AnCOOH is removed, compared to 68.5% using the non-sensitized TiO2 NTAs. Background: Ovarian mucinous tumor with a mural nodule is a rare and special type of ovarian surface epithelial-stromal tumor. Mural nodules are morphologically classified into three types: sarcoma-like, anaplastic carcinomatous, and true sarcomatous nodules. Ovarian mucinous tumors with true sarcomatous mural nodules are rare and challenging to diagnose, with only 10 cases reported worldwide. Currently, liposarcoma mural nodules remain unreported., Case Presentation: A 91-year-old woman was hospitalized for postmenopausal vaginal bleeding for 3 weeks. Imaging revealed a large cystic mass (20.0 cm × 17.7 cm × 12.8 cm) on the right ovary. The mass was multilocular cystic, with a mural nodule (1.4 cm × 1.2 cm × 1.0 cm) in the focal cyst wall. Based on histological morphology, immunohistochemical staining, and MDM2/CDK4 fluorescence in situ hybridization testing, the diagnosis was ovarian mucinous cystadenoma with a mural nodule of well-differentiated liposarcoma. To the best of our knowledge, this has never been reported before. High-throughput sequencing identified KRAS mutations in the ovarian mucinous cystadenoma. However, the liposarcoma mural nodule did not exhibit KRAS mutations but displayed copy number amplifications of CDK4 and DDR2 , as well as a frameshift mutation in exon 13 of ASXL1 (p. A627Gfs*8)., Conclusions: This case broadens the morphological spectrum of mural nodules in ovarian mucinous tumors, deepening our knowledge of this rare morphology.
