Fine-grained entity typing assigns fine-grained types to entities in the text, which can provide entities with rich semantic information through type information, and plays important roles in downstream tasks such as relation extraction, entity linking, and question answering systems. Since the length and position of entities in sentences are not uniform, the representation of entities in context can not be calculated. Existing fine-grained entity typing models process entity mentions and their contexts separately into individual feature representations, which separates the semantic relationship between them. This paper proposes a context-aware feature representation method in fine-grained entity typing, which places entities back into their contexts and solves the problem of computing entity feature representation when the entity length and position are not uniform. Experimental results demonstrate that this method can extract the feature representation of entities in their contexts, and significantly improve the performance of fine-grained entity typing. The Macro-F1 value of this method on the Chinese finegrained entity classification dataset CFET is improved by more than 10%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective To analyze the relationship between nicotine dependence and depression among the elderly of Dai ethnic group in Jinggu county, Yunnan Province. Methods By using the method of multi-stage stratified random sampling, 1 409 rural Dai people aged 60 and over in Jinggu county, Yunnan Province were investigated by face-to-face questionnaire. Results The current smoking rate of rural Dai elderly in Jinggu county, Yunnan Province was 18.6% (37.1% for males and 0.8% for females). The smoking rate of males was significantly higher than that of females (P < 0.01). At present, the nicotine dependence rate of smokers was 32.8% (32.4% for males and 50.0% for females). There was no significant difference in nicotine dependence among Dai elderly people of different genders (P > 0.05), age groups (P > 0.05), education (P > 0.05), and annual family per capita income (P > 0.05). The prevalence rate of depression in the surveyed population was 52.0% (49.4% for males and 54.5% for females). Multivariate Logistic regression model analysis showed that patients with nicotine dependence were more likely to suffer from depression than those without nicotine dependence (OR=1.517, 95%C%: 1.0662.158). Conclusion Nicotine dependence is positively correlated with depression in the elderly of Dai ethnic group in Yunnan Province. Taking effective measures to reduce the nicotine dependence rate of smokers is helpful to improve the mental health level of the elderly. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Increasing the application of nitrogen fertilizer is the main approach to increase rice production, but it also brings problems of environmental pollution and increases agricultural production costs. Cultivating high‐yielding and high nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) rice varieties is an important approach to solving this problem. The rice varieties carrying dep1 (dense and erect panicle 1) have both high grain yield and high NUE. However, their plant traits have not been fully explored. In this study, two rice near‐isogenic lines carrying dep1 (NIL‐DEP1 and NIL‐dep1) were grown in paddy fields under 0, 120 and 270 kg N ha−1. We analyzed agronomic traits of panicle type, plant type, leaves and roots, and physiological traits of vascular bundles, photosynthetic rate and carbon and nitrogen transport. The results showed that the NIL‐dep1 exhibited higher grain yield and NUE than NIL‐DEP1, mainly due to the higher spikelet number per panicle, grain filling percentage and dry matter production. Compared with NIL‐DEP1, NIL‐dep1 had improved flag leaf morpho–physiological traits, including erect flag leaves, greater leaf thickness and specific leaf weight, higher root dry weight, root length, root volume and root surface area, and a better canopy structure, as reflected by a lower light interception percent and canopy extinction coefficient, leading to better photosynthetic performance and dry matter production. In addition, NIL‐dep1 exhibited better vascular bundle traits of peduncle and enhanced dry matter, stem carbon and nitrogen translocation during grain filling. In conclusion, NIL‐dep1 had high grain yield and NUE by improved agronomic and physiological traits and increasing carbon and nitrogen translocation during grain filling. In the determination of biological samples by X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry, sample powder pellets pressed by traditional sample preparation technique at 220-440 MPa are not compact and smooth, so the sample room of X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry becomes contaminated by dropped sample powder, which can then influence long term stability. Biological sample powder can be pressed into smooth and compact pellets using high pressure at 1760 MPa, therefore the sample preparation reproducibility is improved to 0.1%-2.6% (RSD, n=5). A method for direct determination of 23 major and minor elements (Al, Ca, Cl, K, Mg, Na, P, S, Si, Ba, Br, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, Rb, Sr, Ti, V and Zn) in biological samples by Wavelength Dispersion X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry was established on this sample preparation basis. The matrix effects can be corrected by using Rh-Kα(from the X-ray tube target) Compton-scattered radiation and by using the background as the internal standard. The precision of the method is 0.1%-11.3% (RSD) for most elements and the detection limits is 0.08-140.96 μg/g. The feasibility of the proposed method was tested by analyzing several national biological standard materials; the results obtained were consistent with the certified values.
