6. P-Mamba: Marrying Perona Malik Diffusion with Mamba for Efficient Pediatric Echocardiographic Left Ventricular Segmentation

Abstract

In pediatric cardiology, the accurate and immediate assessment of cardiac function through echocardiography is important since it can determine whether urgent intervention is required in many emergencies. However, echocardiography is characterized by ambiguity and heavy background noise interference, bringing more difficulty to accurate segmentation. Present methods lack efficiency and are also prone to mistakenly segmenting some background noise areas as the left ventricular area due to noise disturbance. To relieve the two issues, we introduce P-Mamba for efficient pediatric echocardiographic left ventricular segmentation. Specifically, we turn to the recently proposed vision mamba layers in our vision mamba encoder branch to improve the computing and memory efficiency of our model while modeling global dependencies. In the other DWT-based PMD encoder branch, we devise DWT-based Perona-Malik Diffusion (PMD) Blocks that utilize PMD for noise suppression, while simultaneously preserving the local shape cues of the left ventricle. Leveraging the strengths of both the two encoder branches, P-Mamba achieves superior accuracy and efficiency to established models, such as vision transformers with quadratic and linear computational complexity. This innovative approach promises significant advancements in pediatric cardiac imaging and beyond.

26. A Preliminary Study of the Key Technologies in Rice Seed Production

Abstract

To study the production technology of rice seeds, with Lianjing 7 as test material, this paper explores the effects of the key rice seed production, processing and storage technologies (such as nitrogen fertilizer application and management, weeding mode in seed breeding field, temperature control of mechanical drying and water control on seed storage) on the quality of rice seeds. The results show that the optimal application proportion of tillering stage dressing and earing fertilizer is 8: 2, followed by 7 : 3; the best time of weeding is booting stage, with the highest purity; the effect of drying and germination rate is best when the temperature is controlled at 44℃ in mechanical drying process; the seed storage quality and storage costs can be guaranteed when the water content of rice seed is controlled at 18%.

Abstract

Conventional Agaricus bisporus production is mainly concentrated in autumn and winter. Thus the Agaricus bisporus supply is not available throughout the year. Even worse, the price of Agaricus bisporus is cheap in boom season, reducing the economic benefits; but the product is unavailable off season. The whole-year production of Agaricus bisporus will help to solve the problem and increase the economic benefits of farmers. In this paper, the whole-year cultivation techniques of Agaricus bisporus were summarized. There are a total of 3 seasons of Agaricus bisporus (spring, summer, autumn-winter) throughout the year. And thus the whole-year supply of Agaricus bisporus is achieved, the utilization of mushroom house is improved and the income of farmers is increased. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

30. Assessing PET/CT's diagnostic accuracy in idiopathic myopathies.

Abstract

Objective: Recent studies have utilized fluorine-18-fluorodeoxyglucose ( 18 F-FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) specifically to diagnose cases of idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM), excluding inclusion body myositis (IBM). Conversely, carbon-11 ( 11 C) labeled Pittsburgh compound B (PIB)-PET imaging is exclusively used for the detection of IBM. This research is designed to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of PET/CT in identifying IIM by employing rigorous diagnostic accuracy testing methodologies., Materials and Methods: A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted across multiple databases including PubMed, and Embase. We focused on the diagnostic utility of PET/CT in IIM, assessing sensitivities, specificities, and deriving likelihood ratios (LR+ and LR-). The study was registered with PROSPERO (CRD42022343222)., Results: This systematic review identified 635 citations, of which 10 eligible trials were included, with a total of 419 participants. The results indicated a sensitivity of 0.86 (0.81-0.90), and a specificity of 0.93 (0.88-0.96). The synthesis of LR revealed the LR+ of 10.35 (6.31-16.98), and LR-of 0.15 (0.07-0.32). The summary receiver operating characteristic curve (SROC) showed an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.9658. Regarding IBM, the sensitivity was 0.84 (0.60-0.97), and the specificity was 1 (0.69-1). The synthesis of LR showed the LR+ of 9.61 (1.46-63.15) and an LR- of 0.21 (0.09-0.51). For disease activity, the sensitivity was 0.96 (0.92-0.99), and the specificity was 0.91 (0.084-0.96). The synthesis of LR showed an LR+ of 9.43 (5.39-16.51) and an LR- of 0.05 (0.02-0.11)., Conclusion: Positron emission tomography/CT has great potential for accurately diagnosing and monitoring patients with IIM, and may have implications for their clinical management.
