The culture of pelagic marine invertebrates, especially the ctenophore Mnemiopsis leidyi, has been demonstrated in past studies dating back to the 1960s; however, the mass culture of delicate pelagic invertebrates has remained elusive. By using a pair of acrylic tubes and enabling water diffusion between them, we have been able to reliably and cost effectively mass culture several genera of ctenophores (Pleurobrachia, Hormiphora, Bolinopsis, Mnemiopsis and Leucothea), one species of siphonophore (Nanomia) and one species of larvacean (Oikopleura). The simple, compact method is effective enough to support two permanent exhibits of ctenophores at the Monterey Bay Aquarium while minimizing live food culture requirements with the potential to support further investigation of pelagic marine invertebrate ontogeny, ecology and genomics.

La obra Dialoghi con Leucò, considerada por el propio Pavese como su «carta de presentación para la posteridad» y, sin embargo, incomprendida y menospreciada por la crítica contemporánea, se convierte aquí en objeto de un estudio que destaca su validez significativa actual. El trabajo nos ofrece un interesante análisis sobre la concepción pavesiana del mito como elemento expresivo simbólico y autónomo que relaciona al escritor con las tendecias del idealismo alemán del siglo XVIII. La íntima relación entre mito y literatura nos ofrece el punto de partida para adentrarnos en el estudio de la obra en sí, tanto desde un punto de vista formal como temático e ideológico. La elección de una estructura dialógica permitió al escritor, pues, introducirse en una tradición mítica y literaria concreta, en la que se encuentra con el inevitable eco de la ironía melancólica de Leopardi. Asimismo, gracias a ella, Pavese puede acercarse al mito desde una perspectiva subjetiva y enormemente original. The study of the dedication to the goddess Leucothea of Segeira is in keeping with the preparation of the eleventh volume of Inscriptions grecques et latines de la Syrie, which will be devoted to Mount Hermon (Jabal esh-Sheikh). Though establishing the Greek text does not pose any problem, it appears necessary to complete its commentary. The ritualistic and mystical interpretation, which has been favoured for more than a century, is abandoned in favor of a new hypothesis which focuses on previously neglected data: firstly, the association of a funerary expression with a votive text; secondly, the relationship of this text to the archaeology and the historical geography of Mount Hermon., L'étude de la dédicace à la déesse Leucothéa de Segeira s'inscrit dans le cadre de la préparation du onzième tome des Inscriptions grecques et latines de la Syrie, consacré au Mont Hermon (Jabal ech-Cheikh). Si l'établissement du texte grec ne pose pas de problème, il s'avère cependant nécessaire d'en reprendre le commentaire. L'interprétation ritualiste et mystique, privilégiée depuis plus d'un siècle, est abandonnée au profit d'une nouvelle hypothèse qui tient compte d'une part des parallèles épigraphiques à cette inscription qui associe une formule funéraire à un texte votif et d'autre part des données relatives à l'archéologie et à la géographie historique de l'Hermon.
