Atsižvelgus į kultūrinių reikšmių vertimo tyrimų svarbą ir aktualumą, straipsnyje nagrinėjami lietuvių meninių tekstų frazeologizmų kultūrinės reikšmės, frazeologizmų vaidmuo individualiame meniniame stiliuje, jų interpretacija ir vertimo į prancūzų kalbą strategijos. Tiriami kultūriškai įprasminti frazeologizmai, kurie laikomi diferenciniais stilistiniais meninių tekstų požymiais, perteikiančiais kultūrines konotacijas. Žvelgiant į meninius tekstus iš holistinės perspektyvos, frazeologizmai laikomi vertimo objekto sudėtine dalimi, o pats vertimo objektas traktuojamas kaip visų ekstratekstinių, intertekstinių ir intratekstinių ryšių, perteikiančių prasmę, visuma. Tyrimo tikslas – išnagrinėti lietuvių meninių tekstų frazeologizmų kontekstinę realizaciją, jų vartojimo dažnį, ypatumus ir nustatyti frankofonų vertėjų taikytas kultūrinių reikšmių vertimo į prancūzų kalbą strategijas, ir jomis išreikštas dabartines prancūzų vertimų kultūrinės transpozicijos tendencijas. Tiriamąją medžiagą sudaro įvairių lietuvių autorių (V. Papievio, R. Šerelytės, R. Granausko, J. Savickio, G. Radvilavičiūtės, S. Parulskio ir kt.) meninio stiliaus kūriniai, kurių bendra apimtis – daugiau kaip 1300 puslapių, ir tokios pat apimties jų vertimai į prancūzų kalbą, publikuoti per nepriklausomos Lietuvos dvidešimt penkerius metus, t. y. nuo 1990 iki 2015 metų pabaigos. Analizuojamus meninius tekstus iš lietuvių kalbos vertė gimtakalbiai frankofonai vertėjai, vertimai išleisti Prancūzijoje. Straipsnyje aprašytas mokslinis tyrimas remiasi taikomosios vertimo teorijos idėja analizuoti apibrėžto laikotarpio reprezentatyvios empirinės medžiagos vertimo praktinius reiškinius ir jų rezultatais grįsti teorines įžvalgas. Considering the importance and relevance of research of the translation of cultural meanings, the article analyses cultural meanings in contemporary Lithuanian literary texts, their importance in an individual literary style, and strategies of translation into the French language. The present research covers culture-specific idioms. They are considered to be differential stylistic features of literary texts that transmit cultural connotations. Besides, idioms belong to the object of contemporary translation studies, which is the whole of all extratextual, intertextual, and intratextual relations that transmit meaning. The aim of the present article is to analyse the contextual realization and the frequency of usage of idioms in Lithuanian literary texts, to determine translation strategies applied by francophone translators for the translation of cultural meaning into the French language, and to define contemporary tendencies in cultural transposition as expressed in French translations. The research material comprises literary works by different Lithuanian authors (V. Papievis, R. Šerelytė, R. Granauskas, J. Savickis, G. Radvilavičiūtė, V. Juknaitė, S. Parulskis, etc.) with the total number of pages in the Lithuanian language exceeding 1300, and the same number of pages translated into the French language; all the translations were published during the first 25 years of the independent Lithuania, i.e. from 1990 until the end of 2015. All the analysed literary texts have been translated by native francophone speakers and published in France. The present scientific research is based on the idea of the applied translation theory to analyse examples of translations in the representative empirical data from a concrete period of time and to base theoretical insights on its results.

The monograph analyses cultural meanings in contemporary Lithuanian literary texts, their importance in an individual literary style, interpretation, and strategies of translation into the French language. The present research covers five types of cultural meanings: intertextual units, culture-specific idioms, culture-specific items, and diminutives. They are considered to be differential stylistic features of literary texts that transmit cultural connotations. The present monograph is the first in Lithuania to present an extensive analysis of cultural meanings in the works of Lithuanian writers and poets, which have been translated into the French language during the past twenty four years. The main focus of the book is on cultural transposition in translation. The aim of the present research is to analyse the contextual realization and the frequency of usage of cultural meanings (intertextual units, idioms, culture-specific items, and diminutives) in Lithuanian literary texts, to determine translation strategies applied by francophone translators for the translation of cultural meaning into the French language, and to define contemporary tendencies in cultural transposition as expressed in French translations. The research material comprises literary works by different Lithuanian authors (R. Serelytė, R. Granauskas, J. Savickis, G. Radvilavičiūtė, V. Juknaitė, S. Parulskis, R. Gavelis, J. Kunčinas, S. Katiliškis, etc.) with the total number of pages in the Lithuanian language exceeding 1000, and the same number of pages translated into the French language; all the translations were published during the first 24 years of the independent Lithuania, i.e. from 1990 until the end of 2014. Thus the total amount of textual material analysed in the book comprises more than 2000 pages. All the analysed literary texts have been translated by native francophone speakers and published in France. [...] Lithuanian literary texts, which have been translated into the French language not from the original Lithuanian but from Ruassian translations, [...] were considered methodologically impropriate for the present research and, therefore, have not been analysed. For the analysis of the representative amount of bilingual data, the following scientific research methods were applied: 1) the method of quantitative analysis was applied for the analysis of the qualitative distribution of text units with cultural connotations, the frequency of separate intervention groups, and the quantitative and relative distribution of translation strategies; 2) a systematic analysis of scientific literature allowed to determine and to generalize the directions in the development of contemporary translation paradigm, the content dynamics of the main concepts of translation theory, as well as quantitative and qualitative changes in the paradigm of translation studies, which reflect the conceptual attitudes of the contemporary translation theory and determine the translation of the cultural meanings of the text; 3) the method of comparative translation and cultural analysis was applied for the analysis of the application and expediency of translation strategies, for the discussion of general and partial adaptation of the cultural meanings of the text, and for the analysis of the problems of intercultural communication; 4) the method of contrastive linguistic analysis was applied for the analysis of the usage of cultural meanings in certain extralinguistic situations and for the discussion of problems concerning translation language quality. [...] The monograph is composed of the introduction, a theoretical part, an empirical part, conclusions, a bibliography, summaries in French and English and an alphabetical index of terms used in the work. The introduction presents the context of researches of the last decade devoted to the translations from foreign languages into the Lithuanian language and from the Lithuanian language into foreign languages, discusses the novelty and relevance of the research presented in this monograph, the research object, the aim, the research material, methodological considerations regarding contemporary researches in translation studies, discusses the research methodology, and the structure of the work. The theoretical part of the work discusses the changes in the paradigm of translation studies, the content dynamics of the main concepts of translation theory, changes in the attitudes towards the relationship between the original and the translation, questions regarding translation strategies, provides an overview of the reasons why the traditional paradigm of translation studies has become a digital paradigm, and the conceptual differences between contemporary translation theories that determine the attitude towards the cultural meanings of the text, their interpretation and the application of translation strategies. [...] The empirical part of the monograph is composed of four chapters which discuss different types of cultural meanings in texts: culture-specific in- tertextual units, idioms, culture-specific items, and diminutives. At the beginning of the research, larger components of cultural texts - intertex- tual units - are analysed. [...] The qualitative analysis of all the examples analysed in the present research permits to claim that all the transmitted Lithuanian cultural meanings constitute 58 % and not transmitted - 42 % of all cultural meanings.

No matter what methodological roads are chosen by contemporary translator, how well he or she has mastered the art of translation he or she has to roam from what is strange and one’s own and vice versa. To put it in Ricoeur‘s words this is a pleasure to adopt language of a stranger in one‘s own home. Translator stages and develops dialogue between cultures and erects bridges between different worlds making them culturally closer to each other. What was seen as strange becomes one‘s own through translations.

Šiuolaikinėje visuomenėje išaugus vertimų poreikiui, sugriežtėjo reikalavimai vertimų kokybei. Rengiant profesionalius vertėjus, svarbų vaidmenį vaidina vertimų tyrimai, vertimo kritikos darbai, leidžiantys pastebėti konkrečios kalbų poros atskirų stilių, žanrų tekstų vertimo dėsningumus, tam tikrų teksto kalbos ypatybių vertimo polinkius. Šiame straipsnyje nagrinėjami prancūzų kalbos administracinio ir publicistinio stiliaus konektoriai, jų pasiskirstymo dažnis ir vertimo į lietuvių kalbą strategijos. Prancūzų kalbos konektoriai, jų klasifikacijų įvairovė, funkcijos, vertimo galimybės aprašomos remiantis žymių lingvistų (J.-M. Adamo, P. Guiraud, E. Roulet, A. Reboulio, J. Moeschler, G. Martelio, ir kt.), vertimo teoretikų (J.-P. Vinay, J. Darbelnet, H. J. Vermeerio, Ch. Nord, M. G. Gonzaleso, A. Chestermano ir kt.) darbais. Atliekant tyrimą taikomi kokybinės, kiekybinės analizės, gretinamasis ir aprašomasis metodai. Atlikto kiekybinio konektorių pasiskirstymo rezultatai leidžia teigti, kad skirtingą konektorių vartojimą prancūzų kalbos administraciniame (78 % visų surinktų pavyzdžių) ir publicistiniame (22 % visų pavyzdžių) stiliuje lemia stilistinė tekstų diferenciacija. Nagrinėjant tiriamųjų tekstų konektorių vertimo į lietuvių kalbą ypatybes, aptariamos trys vertimo strategijos: gramatinė tiesioginio vertimo strategija, semantinė sinonimų parinkimo strategija ir pragmatinė praleidimo strategija. Kiekviena strategija aptariama vertimo teorijos ir kalbos vartosenos požiūriu, teiginiai paremiami surinktais pavyzdžiais.

Straipsnyje nagrinėjama teorinės vertimo paradigmos raida, kokybiniai ir kiekybiniai vertimo mokslo pokyčiai nuo pat jo atsiradimo iki mūsų dienų. Vertimo mokslo ir metodologijos raidą leidžia pastebėti pagrindinių vertimo teorijos sąvokų turinio analizė, sąvokų dinamika, atspindinti reprezentatyviausių vertimo teorijų konceptualiuosius skirtumus. Taikant aprašomąjį, lyginamąjį, analitinį ir sintezės metodus, straipsnyje nagrinėjami fundamentalieji ir naujausi vertimo teorijos darbai, analizuojamos teorinės vertimo paradigmos plėtros išorinės ir vidinės priežastys, tradicinės vertimo paradigmos virsmas skaitmeninio vertimo paradigma, vertimo sąvokų turinio transformacija, originalo ir vertimo tekstų opozicijos neutralizavimas, vertimo strategijų, sisteminių kontekstų (kultūrinių, religinių, socialinių ir kt.) ir tarpsisteminių ryšių nagrinėjimo klausimai. Analizuojant teorinę medžiagą aptariami šiuolaikinės visuomenės, vertimo praktikos ir informacinių technologijų pokyčiai, lėmę naujų vertimo teorijos rūšių, pavyzdžiui, lokalizacijos, atsiradimą, kintantį požiūrį į vertimo veiklą. Sisteminė vertimo mokslinės literatūros analizė leidžia tvirtinti, kad kadaise kėlusi bendrųjų, konceptualiųjų teorinių universalijų idėją, dabartinė teorinė vertimo paradigma, vienijanti įvairius teorinius požiūrius ir nuostatas, krypsta teorinės ir metodologinės diferenciacijos link.

The article surveys research conducted in 2012 by members of the research group “Applied Translation and Cross-Cultural Communication Studies.” Three evidently interrelated directions of research are discussed: analysis of translation related problems, application of a (cross)cultural focus to the analysis of literary texts, and investigation of diverse aspects of foreign language use in the context of globalization and integration processes. Research results have been presented at national and international conferences and published in scholarly articles. The present article also reflects on the project work undertaken by members of the research group. In the concluding section, directions for future research are discussed.

Per pastaruosius dvidešimt metų pagausėjo Europos Sąjungos (toliau – ES) dokumentų vertimų į lietuvių kalbą, paspartėjo administracinės kalbos raida. Dėl interlingvistinės įtakos administracinio stiliaus tekstuose ėmė rastis naujų, kartais nemotyvuotai vertėjų pasirinktų kalbos ypatybių. Kaip žinoma, greičiausiai į pokyčius reaguoja leksika, kinta tam tikri stilistiniai skiriamieji leksikos vartojimo požymiai. Analizuojant administracinio lietuvių kalbos stiliaus žodžių vartojimą, daug naudingų duomenų teikia originalo ir vertimo tekstų gretinimas. Tyrimo aktualumą rodo daug vertimo (iš anglų, prancūzų kalbų į lietuvių k.) klaidų, taip pat lietuvių kalbos sistemos ypatybių, normų ir stiliaus nepaisymas. Straipsnyje analizuojamos ES Teisingumo Teismo generalinio advokato išvados prancūzų ir lietuvių kalba, tiriamasis objektas – prancūzų kalbai itin būdingos leksinės analitinės konstrukcijos ir jų vertimai į lietuvių kalbą. Tiriamąją medžiagą sudaro 444 puslapiai 2003–2013 metų generalinio advokato išvadų, padalytų į du lyginamuosius laikotarpius: 2003–2008 ir 2009–2013 metų tekstų imtis. Bendras analizuojamų dokumentų žodžių skaičius – 221 041 žodis. Teismų išvadų imčių skirstymas į du laikotarpius leidžia pastebėti tiriamųjų administracinių tekstų vertimo pokyčius per dešimt metų, nustatyti vertimų kokybės kitimą. Minėto tyrimo tikslas – išnagrinėti prancūzų kalbos generalinio advokato išvadų leksinių analitinių konstrukcijų kiekybinį vartojimą ir nustatyti jų vertimo į lietuvių kalbą būdus. Tyrimas atliktas taikant kiekybinės, lyginamosios, vertimo analizės ir aprašomąjį metodus. Kiekybiškai ir kokybiškai išnagrinėjus 705 prancūzų kalbos leksinių analitinių konstrukcijų vertimą į lietuvių kalbą, nustatyti du dažniausi vertimo būdai: vertimas veiksmažodžiu perteikiant konstrukcijos referencinį turinį semantinių komponentų sinteze (60,2 proc. visų nagrinėtų pavyzdžių) ir vertimas daiktavardine konstrukcija (34,8 proc. pavyzdžių). Kiti vertimo būdai (vertimas daiktavardžiu (3,5 proc.), būdvardžiu, būdvardžio ir veiksmažodžio junginiu (0,9 proc.), prieveiksmiu (0,3 proc.) ir praleidimo atvejai (0,3 proc.)) sudaro tik 5 proc. visų nagrinėtų pavyzdžių. Tyrime nustatyti vertimo metodai leidžia tvirtinti, kad vertėjų sprendimus lėmė vertimo kalbos pobūdis, verčiamų prancūzų kalbos vienetų semantika ir stilistinės, žanrinės teksto ypatybės. Dviejų laikotarpių vertimo būdų lyginimo rezultatai rodo, kad Europos Sąjungos dokumentų vertimo kokybė pamažu gerėja, vertėjai tampa atidesni originalo ir vertimo kalbos skirtybėms, kalbos vienetų semantikai, geriau išmano lietuvių kalbos raiškos galimybes ir bendrinės kalbos normas. Over the past twenty years the translations of EU documents into Lithuanian have been on the increase; the development of the administrative language has been gathering pace as well. As a result of cross-linguistic influence, the texts of administrative style started featuring new, occasionally ill-founded, linguistic peculiarities selected by translators. Lexis was the fastest to react to changes; certain stylistic differential features of the use of lexis underwent changes as well. In the analysis of the use of words from the Lithuanian administrative language, the comparison of the texts of two languages – source text and its translation – is a source yielding numerous valuable data. The relevance of the topic under analysis is determined by frequent errors of translation from analytic (English, French, etc.) languages into a synthetic Lithuanian language as well as the disregard of the peculiar characteristics of the native language system, norm and stylistic use. The article analyses the opinions of the advocate-general of the Court of Justice of the European Union in French and Lithuanian languages. Lexical analytical constructions characteristic of the French administrative language and their translation into Lithuanian were selected the research object. The study material consists of 444 pages of the opinions of advocate-general of 2003–2013 divided into two comparative periods: texts written in 2003–2008 and in 2009–2013. The total number of words in the documents under analysis is 221,041 words. The distinction of the material under analysis into two periods enables to identify the methods of translating lexical analytical constructions under analysis into Lithuanian as well as the changes in the quality of translation over the past ten years. The following objective was brought forward in the study – to analyse the quantitative use of French lexical analytical constructions in the opinions of the advocate-general and to identify the methods of their translation into Lithuanian. The study is based on contrastive linguistics, quantitative and descriptive methods. The analysis results lead to the conclusion that in translating 705 French lexical analytical constructions found in the study material into Lithuanian and rendering their reference content, the component synthesis of semantic structures was usually selected, i.e. it is translated by a verb or its forms (60.2% of all examples under analysis), less commonly – by a noun construction (34.8% of the examples). Translation by a noun (3.5% of the examples), adjective, adjective and verb phrase (0.9% of the examples) and adverb (0.3% of the examples) are considered least common translation methods. To avoid semantically and stylistically excessive units, 0.3% of translation examples omitted lexical analytical constructions altogether. The methods of translation identified in the study lead to the conclusion that the selection of linguistic means in the target language depends on translator’s expertise, understanding of the meaning of the unit being translated and the knowledge of stylistic and genre peculiarities of the target language. The comparison of translation examples from the two periods in terms of the norm of the Lithuanian standard language shows that the translation quality of the EU documents is gradually improving; translators become more careful with regard to the peculiarities of the source and the target language, semantics of language units and are better versed in the norms of the Lithuanian standard language applicable in the administrative language.

Straipsnyje analizuojamos lietuvių literatūros intertekstinės reikšmės, jų interpretacija ir vertimo į prancūzų kalbą polinkiai. Tiriamosios medžiagos, kurią sudaro lietuvių autorių 27 novelių, 10 eilėraščių ir 2000–2010 metais publikuotų jų vertimų į prancūzų kalbą, analizė leidžia pastebėti intertekstinių reikšmių vertimo per pastarąjį dešimtmetį tendencijas. Gauti kiekybinės analizės rezultatai rodo, kad daugiausiai intertekstinės reikšmės reiškiamos tikriniais vardais, reikšminėmis žodžių grupėmis ir frazėmis. Verčiant tiriamosios medžiagos intertekstines reikšmes į prancūzų kalbą, vyraujančiu vertimo polinkiu laikytinas vertimas be pakeitimų, kai intertekstinė reikšmė originalo ir vertimo skaitytojų kultūroje suprantama vienodai, be papildomo paaiškinimo. Kitos vertimo strategijos (eksplicitinis intertekstinės reikšmės perteikimas; pažodinis perkėlimas; išskyrimas „vidiniu akcentu“) taikytos rečiau. Nors pažodinio perkėlimo pavyzdžiai sudaro tik penktadalį visų nagrinėtų intertekstinių reikšmių, tačiau jų analizės rezultatai leidžia teigti, kad vertėjai ne visada tinkamai pasirenka vertimo strategiją, verčia žodinę intertekstinių vienetų formą, todėl vertimuose panaikinami svarbūs intertekstiniai ryšiai, neutralizuojamos intelektinės ir emocinės konotacijos, o vertimo skaitytojams paliekami „kultūriniai kliuviniai“. This article analyses the intertextual meanings of Lithuanian literature, how they are interpreted, and some tendencies of their translation into French. The material for the analysis comprises 27 Lithuanian literature novels and ten poems, together with their translations into French (published from 2000–2010). The analysis shows the tendencies of translation of intertextual meanings during the last decade. The results of the quantitative research indicate that intertextual meanings are mainly translated by proper names, meaningful word groups, and phrases. A dominant tendency when translating intertextual meanings into French is translation without changes, when the intertextual meaning is understood equivalently in both the source and target cultures, without the need for additional explanation. Other translation strategies (explicit rendering of intertextual meaning; wordfor- word translation or "internal emphasis") were applied more rarely. Even though the examples of word-for-word translation comprise only one-fifth of all analysed intertextual meanings, the results of their analysis suggest that translators sometimes fail to choose appropriate translation strategies and translate the word forms of the intertextual units; in such cases, the translations lose important intertextual connections, intellectual and emotional connotations are neutralized, and the readers of the translation face "culture bumps."

Straipsnyje nagrinėjama lietuvių kalbos sistemos ypatybė – deminutyviniai vediniai ir jų realizacija S. T. Kondroto romane „Žalčio žvilgsnis“ bei deminutyvų vertimas į prancūzų kalbą. Siekiant aptarti tiriamąjį objektą, teorinėje apžvalgoje pateikiama deminutyvų samprata, darybos priemonės, semantiniai ir stilistiniai ypatumai. Atlikus kiekybinę tiriamosios medžiagos deminutyvų analizę S. T. Kondroto meninio stiliaus tekste, rasti 696 deminutyvų pavyzdžiai. Dariausia deminutyvų priesaga laikytina „-i(u)kas, -ė“, sudariusi beveik 62% visų aptiktų deminutyvinių vedinių, antrąją kiekybiškai mažesnę grupę sudarė priesagos „-elis,-ė“ vediniai (20,26%), trečioje vietoje – priesagos „-ėlis, -ė“ vediniai (9,3%). Kitų, labai įvairių priesagų (-ytis, -ė; -i(u)tis, -ė;-(i)okas, -ė; - aitis, -ė ir kt.) vediniai buvo vartoti rečiau. Gauti duomenys palyginti su lietuvių kalbos gramatikose minimu deminutyvų dažniu. Visi originalo tekste rasti deminutyvai ištirti funkcijų, semantikos, morfologinės raiškos aspektu ir aprašyti. Išnagrinėjus lietuvių kalbos teksto deminutyvų vertimą į prancūzų kalbą, nustatyti keturi vertimo polinkiai, iš kurių dažniausiu laikomas vertimas analitine prancūzų kalbos forma (49,15% visų vertimo pavyzdžių). Šio polinkio vyravimą lėmė skirtingas sintetinės lietuvių kalbos ir analitinės prancūzų kalbos pobūdis, kitaip reiškiama mažybinė maloninė reikšmė. Paper deals with diminutive derivatives as a frequent peculiarity of the Lithuanian language and focuses on their realisation in the novel "Žalčio žvilgsnis" (A Look of a Whipsnake) by S. T. Kondrotas, as well as on their translation into French. In order to discuss the research object, a theoretical overview of the concept of diminutive, diminutive formation means, semantic and stylistic features is given. The quantitative analysis of diminutives in the literary text chosen as a research material resulted in identification of 696 diminutive units. The most productive diminutive suffix was "-i(u)kas" comprising nearly 62% of all diminutive derivatives found in the source text. Below ranked two other quantitatively relevant diminutive suffixes: "-elis,-ė" (20.26%) closely followed by "-ėlis, -ė" (9,3%). Other diminutive suffixes (-ytis, -ė; -i(u)tis, -ė; -(i)okas, -ė; - aitis, -ė etc.) occurred less frequently. The obtained frequency data were compared to those provided in Lithuanian grammars. All diminutives found in the source text were analysed and described with respect to their functions, semantics and morphological aspects. The analysis of the Lithuanian diminutives translated into French revealed four translation preferences, among which translation with an analytical form was most frequently applied (49.15% of all translation examples). This tendency could be explained by linguistic differences of Lithuanian as synthetic and French as an analytic language, interlingual differences in expressing diminutive meaning as a term of endearment.

Straipsnyje aptariama klasterio „Tarpkultūrinės komunikacijos ir vertimo problematikos taikomieji tyrimai“ veikla ir moksliniai tyrimai, atlikti 2011 m. Klasterio veikla apima tris sritis: vertimo problematikos tyrimai literatūrologiniu ir lingvistiniu aspektais; analizuojama nacionalinių literatūrų ir kultūrų sąveika ir jos formos tarpkultūrinėje / tarpdalykinėje erdvėje; nagrinėjamos kalbų vartojimo tendencijos globalizacijos ir integracijos procesų kontekste. Visos šios veiklos sritys atsispindi klasterio narių tyrimuose, kurie buvo pristatyti tarptautinėse ir nacionalinėse konferencijose, publikuoti mokslo leidiniuose. Taip pat trumpai apžvelgiami projektai bei seminarai, kuriuose dalyvavo klasterio nariai. The article surveys the activities and research conducted in 2011 by members of the research group “Applied Translation and Cross-Cultural Communication Studies.” Three evidently interrelated directions of research are discussed: analysis of translation related problems, application of a (cross) cultural focus to the analysis of literary texts, and investigation of diverse aspects of foreign language pedagogy as well as education of foreign-language educators. The range of research also includes analysis of tendencies regarding language use in the context of globalization and integration processes. Research results have been presented at national and international conferences and published in scholarly articles. The present article also reflects on the project work and professional development activities undertaken by the members of the research group. In the concluding section, directions for future research are outlined.

Straipsnyje nagrinėjamos eksplicitiškai ir implicitiškai perteiktos lietuvių literatūros kūrinių kultūrinės reikšmės, jų interpretacija ir vertimas į prancūzų kalbą. Taikant gretinamąjį, kiekybinės analizės ir aprašomąjį metodus jos analizuojamos originaliuose lietuvių autorių kūriniuose ir jų vertimuose į prancūzų kalbą, publikuotuose 20002010 metų „Cahiers lituaniens“ numeriuose. Tyrime remiamasi įvairių vertimo teoretikų (P. Newmark, G. Mounin, M. Lederer ir kt.), hermeneutinės ir fenomenologinės filosofijos atstovų (H. G. Gadamer, P. Ricoeur) įžvalgomis. Tiriamosios medžiagos kultūrinės reikšmės interpretacijos ir vertimo analizė leidžia teigti, kad dažniausiai lietuvių kultūrinė reikšmė perteikiama eksplicitiškai, taikant vidinės arba išorinės adaptacijos tekste strategiją. Tai rodo vertėjų pastangas supažindinti prancūzų skaitytojus su mažai jiems žinoma lietuvių kultūra: buities, papročių ypatumais, tautosaka, mitologija ir kt. Tyrimo metu rasta ir kultūrinės reikšmės perkėlimo, adaptacijos ir konversijos pavyzdžių. Nors, palyginti su eksplicitiniu kultūrinės reikšmės perteikimu, jų nėra daug, tačiau analizės rezultatai rodo, kad vertėjai kartais nemotyvuotai renkasi vertimo sprendimus, kurie neleidžia skaitytojams pajausti kultūrinio teksto savitumo, plėsti kultūrinį akiratį. This article deals with cultural meanings of Lithuanian literature and the interpretation and peculiarities of translation to the French language. The analysis of the research material, consisting of original texts and their translations to the French language published in 2000-2010, allows noticing the predominant tendencies of interpretation and transfer of cultural implications as well as problems of translation. The outcomes of the research confirm that Lithuanian cultural implication in French translations is usually conveyed explicitly applying the strategy of external textual adaptation. These examples make up a half of all the examples of the research material. The choice of explicit translation method shows attempts by translators to introduce unfamiliar Lithuanian culture, for instance, peculiarities of the life mode and customs, folklore and mythology, etc., to French readers. The examples of implication in culture transferring, adaptation and conversion were found. The research of the second largest group of examples which belongs to the adaptation enables to draw the conclusion that this cultural transposition is chosen properly in French translations. It refers to the application of cultural meanings in the target culture and does not cause the risk of ethnocentrism. From the viewpoint of translation, more problematic are the examples of transfer of cultural implication and conversion. The analysis of the latter issues gives rise to the doubts about the expedience of cultural and stylistic use of certain conversion cases, as well as creates a problem of readers’ abilities to understand Lithuanian cultural implications expressed in Russian language in French translation.

Straipsnyje nagrinėjamas R. Gary romano „Europietiškas auklėjimas“ vertimas, jo norminis ekvivalentiškumas; siekiama atskleisti, ar vertimas sėkmingai perteikia teksto estetinę komunikaciją, individualiojo meninio stiliaus ypatumus. Tyrimo rezultatai rodo, kad R. Gary romano vertimas į lietuvių kalbą negali būti laikomas normiškai ekvivalentišku originalo tekstui. Rastos leksikos, morfologijos, sintaksės, stiliaus klaidos nei stilistiškai, nei kitaip nemotyvuotos, nes atitinkamose originalo vietose ir kontekste nėra autoriaus padarytų prancūzų kalbos sistemos ar stiliaus klaidų. Dėl jų ne tik netinkamai perteikiama raiška, jos iškraipo turinį: raiškos klaidos keičia sakinio reikšmę, atsiranda dviprasmybių. Šių iš raiškos plano kylančių turinio pakeitimų nenumato jokia vertimo teorija ir metodologija. Verčiant individualųjį autoriaus stilių semantiniai komponentų junginiai vertėjui turi būti patys svarbiausi, todėl keisti tam tikras prasmes galima tik pragmatiniais, komunikaciniais, situacinio konteksto sumetimais ar kultūriškai adaptuojant tekstą. Leksikos ir gramatinės vertimo kalbos klaidos rodo, kad vertėjas neatsižvelgia į skirtingą prancūzų ir lietuvių kalbų nominacijos pobūdį. Tyrimo rezultatai leidžia teigti, kad originalo tekstas yra sklandesnis, kalbos priemonių atžvilgiu stilingesnis. Darytina išvada, kad meninio teksto vertimo kalbos klaidos kliudo estetinei komunikacijai, neleidžia tekstui atlikti pačios svarbiausios funkcijos, atima galimybę jam būti ekvivalentiškai suprastam ir deramai priimtam naujoje komunikacinėje aplinkoje – lietuvių kultūroje. Translation theories often bring up the issue of translation quality - the equivalence of the text to the original. One type of text equivalence is text normative translation equivalence, which permits a judgement about the quality of the translation in the target language. This article offers a theoretical discussion of the relationship between normative equivalence and the overall equivalence of a translation followed by an examination of the normative equivalence of the Lithuanian language translation of R. Gary's work, Education européenne. The analysis based on the data from the material under examination allows to evaluate the concept of literary normative translation equivalence more accurately, to highlight the actual use of language norms and to consider the importance of the style of an individual author when selecting literary means in the target language. A quantitative and linguistic examination of the target language text has revealed numerous translation errors in lexicon, morphology, syntax and style. The results of the analysis of the translation suggest that there are deficiencies in aesthetic communication and application of translation methodology arising from the failure to take into account differences in the French and Lithuanian nominative and the nature of the grammatical systems. The performed examination, which was based on empirical data, casts doubts on the equivalence of Europietiškas auklėjimas to the original text (Education européenne) and raises the question of whether this translation could be publicly presented as a good example.

Straipsnyje nagrinėjama viena iš prancūzų kalbos sistemos ypatybių - leksinės analitinės konstrukcijos. Tyrimas atliekamas kiekybiniu ir kokybiniu aspektu, analizuojamas leksinių analitinių konstrukcijų pasiskirstymas prancūzų kalbos trijų funkcinių stilių tekstuose (meniniame, publicistiniame ir administraciniame), jų vertimo į lietuvių kalbą polinkiai, stiliaus ir vertimo kalbos sistemos vaidmuo parenkant leksinių analitinių konstrukcijų vertimo ekvivalentus. Nagrinėjama medžiaga tiriama kontrastinės lingvistikos, kiekybiniu, aprašomuoju metodu. Jos analizės rezultatai rodo, kad leksinių analitinių konstrukcijų dažnį prancūzų kalbos tekstuose determinuoja stilius, daugiau jų vartojama standartinės raiškos administracinio stiliaus tekstuose. Kiekybinės ir kokybinės vertimo pavyzdžių analizės duomenys (dažniausiai verčiama veiksmažodžiu, rečiau - daiktavardine konstrukcija ir rečiausiai - semantinių komponentų junginiais, t.y. kitos leksinės ir gramatinės raiškos vienetais), gauti panašūs stilistiškai skirtingų tekstų vertimo polinkiai leidžia manyti, kad vertimo vieneto parinkimas labiau priklauso nuo vertimo kalbos sistemos ypatybių, jos normos ir tik po to - nuo stiliaus. The article discusses one of the characteristics of the French language system, i.e. analytical lexical constructions. The research is carried out from quantitative and qualitative aspects. The distribution of analytical lexical constructions in French is analyzed in the texts of three functional styles (artistic, publicistic and administrative). The analysis involves tendencies of their translation into Lithuanian, i.e. the role of style and the system of the target language in selecting the equivalent analytical lexical constructions. The conducted investigation in based on the contrastive linguistic, quantitative, and expositional methods. The analysis of the materials under investigation indicates that style determines the frequency of analytical lexical constructions used in French texts. These constructions are employed more often in administrative-style texts of standard expressions. The results of the quantitative and qualitative analysis of sample texts show that verb constructions are more frequently used in translation than noun constructions. The semantic joining of components is the rarest, i.e. translation eith other units of lexical and grammatical expression. The translation tendencies of similar but stylistically different texts give a reason to believe that the selection of a translated unit depends more on the characteristics of the translated language system and its standards than on style.

Straipsnyje aptariama dešimties šiuolaikinių lietuvių novelių stilistiškai žymėtos leksikos semantika, išsamiau nagrinėjami detalizuotos semantikos veiksmažodžiai, jų vertimo į prancūzų kalbą ypatumai. Analizuojant mikrostruktūrinio teksto plano leksinių vienetų vertimą, kreipiamas dėmesys į originalo tekste vartojamo tiriamojo vieneto artimiausią leksinį ir bendrąjį kontekstą, atsižvelgiama į leksinio vieneto semantinę distribuciją, stilistinę funkciją, nagrinėjami vertėjo pasirinkti prancūzų kalbos vertimo vienetai. Gauti atlikto tyrimo rezultatai rodo lietuvių kalbos stilistiškai žymėtų detalizuotos semantikos veiksmažodžių dažnesnį vertimą stilistiškai neutraliu abstraktesnės reikšmės veiksmažodžiu, t. y. generalizacijos tendenciją. Tai sietina su skirtingu lietuvių ir prancūzų kalbų nominacijos pobūdžiu, specifiškesnių, detalizuotos semantikos veiksmažodžių trūkumu prancūzų kalboje, o kartais - ir su vertėjų nekūrybiškumu, lingvistiniu neįžvalgumu, meninio teksto kompetencijos stoka. The article discusses stylistically labelled lexical semantics of ten contemporary Lithuanian novels, and examines the features of detailed semantics verbs, as well as their translation into French in more detail. The analysis of the translation of lexical units of the micro-structural text plan is focused on the lexical and a general context of the unit under consideration used in the original text, taking into consideration semantic distribution and stylistic function of a lexical unit; the units selected by interpreter for the French translation are addressed. The findings of the survey show a trend that Lithuanian verbs of stylistically labelled lexical semantics are more often translated using a stylistically neutral verb with a more abstract meaning, i.e., evidence of a generalization trend. This is attributable to the different nature of nomination in French and Lithuanian languages, the lack of more specific verb of detailed semantics in French, and sometimes with the lack of interpreter’s creativeness, linguistic improvidence, and lack of competence in artistic texts.

Straipsnyje tiriama viena iš politinės spaudos tekstų heterogeninių formų - tiesioginė kalba. Ji nagrinėjama daugiau kaip 1 000 000 žodžių specialiajame lyginamajame tekstyne, sudarytame iš 2001-2004 metų informacinio ir komentaro žanrų lietuvių ir prancūzų politinės spaudos tekstų. Tyrimo tikslas - aprašyti dabartinėje spaudoje gausiai vartojamą tiesioginę kalbą, ja perteikiamą šnekamąjį stilių, jo kalbinės raiškos ypatumus ir aptarti lietuvių ir prancūzų tiriamųjų spaudos leidinių bendrąsias tekstų kalbos tendencijas, panašumus ir skirtumus. Darbe nagrinėti tiriamųjų spaudos dienraščių pavyzdžiai, atlikta sintaksinė ir leksinė tiesioginės kalbos analizė rodo joje vartojamą šnekamąjį stilių, publicistinio ir šnekamojo stiliaus sandūrą politinėje spaudoje, šnekamosios ir rašytinės kalbos opozicijos neutralizavimą tekstuose. Šie ir kiti straipsnyje aptarti tiriamųjų tekstų kalbos ypatumai perteikia dabartinės lietuvių ir prancūzų politinės spaudos tekstų konversacionalumo tendenciją. Lingvistinis spaudos tekstų tyrimas atliekamas taikant deskriptyvinį, statistinį ir lyginamąjį metodus. Jie leidžia pastebėti ne tik skirtingų šalių (Lietuvos ir Prancūzijos) spaudos, bet ir atskirų spaudos leidinių informacinių ir komentaro žanrų tekstų kalbos ypatybes, vartojant tipografiškai žymėtą heterogeninę formą - tiesioginę kalbą.

Straipsnyje nagrinėjama viena iš tipografiškai žymėtų heterogeninių formų – tiesioginė šnekamojo stiliaus kalba ir jos panaudojimas publicistinio stiliaus tekstuose. Siekiama nustatyti tiesioginėje kalboje vartojamo šnekamojo stiliaus požymius, šnekamojo ir publicistinio funkcinių stilių sandūrą dabartinėje politinėje spaudoje ir aptarti naujus spaudos kalbos polinkius. Remiantis specialiojo lyginamojo tekstyno imčių tyrimo rezultatais galima teigti, kad „Lietuvos ryto“ ir „Lietuvos žinių“ informacinio ir komentaro žanrų publicistiniame stiliuje vartojama tiesioginė šnekamojo stiliaus kalba. Kai publicistikoje pavartojama tiesioginė šnekamojo stiliaus kalba, kinta tekstų raiška, kitaip kiekybiškai pasiskirsto tiesioginės kalbos ir aplinkinio teksto leksika. Atliktas statistinis imčių tyrimas leidžia manyti, kad nagrinėtų spaudos leidinių leksinių vienetų kiekybinis pasiskirstymas daugiau priklauso ne nuo leidinio pobūdžio, o nuo stilistinės ir žanrinės imčių diferenciacijos. Analizė rodo, kad tekstynų lingvistikos metodai gali būti taikomi stilistiškai skirtingoms, tekstyno imtims nustatyti ir lingvistiniam kiekybiniam leksikos pasiskirstymui nagrinėti. Informacinio ir komentaro žanrų publicistiniame stiliuje vartojama tiesioginė šnekamojo stiliaus kalba perteikia rašytinės ir sakytinės kalbos opozicijos neutralizavimą tekste, funkcinių stilių sandūrą ir išreiškia naujus dabartinės spaudos kalbos polinkius: konversacionalumą ir polemiškumą. Spaudos tekstuose šnekamuoju stiliumi persakyta tiesioginė kalba rodo privatumo sureikšminimą, jo įtaką šiuolaikinėje visuomenėje. The paper analyses direct speech as a typographically marked heterogenic form which is exceptionally frequent in present-day publicist style. Direct speech presented in spoken style and the surrounding text written in publicist style are investigated implementing the methodology of corpus linguistics, statistics and comparative description. The aim of investigation is to identify features of spoken style in direct speech, to determine the interaction between spoken and publicist functional varieties in present-day media language, to discuss new tendencies in the language of the press. The distribution of lexical items according to the parts of speech is analysed on the basis of a special contrastivc corpus, in the word frequency lists of four bands. The initial parts of texts are treated as statistically most representative. They help identify the quantitatively relevant and qualitatively most characteristic stylistic dispersion of lexical units. The investigation has resulted in identifying the following tendencies of present-day language of the press: functional varieties tend to interact and merge, the opposition between written and spoken language in the press is neutralised, texts are becoming heterogeneous etc.

Straipsnyje aptarti lietuvių informacinio ir komentaro žanrų politinės spaudos tiesioginės kalbos vientisiniai vienanariai, dvinariai, benariai, nepilnieji, elipsiniai, priduriamieji sakiniai, inversinė sakinio žodžių tvarka, kreipiniai, nagrinėtų grupių įterpiniai nėra laikomi tik šnekamojo stiliaus ir žemesniojo (familiaraus) šnekos tono sakinių sandaros bruožais. Dauguma iš jų gali būti vartojami keliuose stiliuose. Tiesioginės kalbos „šnekiškumą“ lemia pagal sandarą nagrinėtų sakinių, žodžių junginių ar kitų sintaksinių ypatybių itin dažnas vartojimas, jų deriniai su leksinėmis šnekamojo stiliaus ypatybėmis. Beje specialiojo lyginamojo tekstyno tiesioginės kalbos neparengtumas, spontaniškasis ekspresyvumas, dialogiškumas – sutampa su požymiais, kurie stilistikos darbuose nurodomi kalbant apie neoficialiąją, sakytinę kalbos atmainą – šnekamąjį stilių. Nagrinėjant tekstyno lietuvių politinės spaudos tiesioginės šnekamosios kalbos sakinių sandarą ir dažnį pastebėta, kad elipsinių, benarių, nepilnųjų, trumpų vientisinių, sudėtinių, bejungtukių, šnekamajai kalbai būdingesnių priduriamųjų sakinių, inversinės žodžių tvarkos modelių, įterpinių daugiau vartojama „Lietuvos ryto“ nei „Lietuvos žinių“ tiesioginėje kalboje. Pastarajame leidinyje jos vartojama kiekybiškai perpus mažiau, todėl galima teigti, kad spaudos polemiškumas ir konversacionalumas, išreikštas sakytinės ir rašytinės kalbos arba, tiriamuoju atveju, šnekamojo ir publicistinio stilių opozicijos neutralizavimu spaudoje, labiau perteiktas „Lietuvos ryto“ informacinio ir komentaro žanrų politiniuose tekstuose. The article discusses simple one-member, two-member, member-free, incomplete, elliptic, complementing sentences. The article examines direct language of Lithuanian political media of informational and commentary genre, inverse order of sentence words, addresses, inserts from discussed groups are not considered to be features of only spoken style and lower (familiar) speaking tone sentence structure features. The majority of those can be used in several styles. “Vernacular” nature of direct speech is determined by particularly frequent use of sentences, pairs of words, or other syntax features, analyzed here according to structure, as well as their combinations with lexical features of a spoken style. Besides, unprocessed nature, spontaneous expressiveness, domination of a dialogue in direct speech of a special comparative corpus coincide with features, which are indicated in stylistic works discussing unofficial, spoken version of language – vernacular style. Analysis of sentence structure and frequency of direct spoken speech in Lithuanian political media, taken from the corpus, leads to observation that the use of elliptic, member-free, incomplete, short simple, compound, disjoint sentences, supplementing sentences, more frequently found in a spoken language, models of inverse word order, inserts are often used in direct speech of “Lietuvos rytas” and “Lietuvos žinios” newspapers. The latter publication uses half the quantity, therefore, one can claim that polemic tone and conversationalist of media, expressed in the opposition of spoken and written language, or, in the researched case, in neutralization of the opposition of vernacular and journalistic genre in the media, is more clearly conveyed in political texts of informational and commentary genres of “Lietuvos rytas” newspaper.

Dabartiniai spaudos tekstai autoriniu ir raiškos požiūriu yra heterogeniniai. Juose gausu įvairiai persakytos kito kalbos: citatų, tiesioginės, netiesioginės kalbos, aliuzijų, parodijos ir kt. Įvestos į tekstą žymėtosios ir nežymėtosios heterogeninės formos papildo tekstus naujais bruožais. Autentišką kito kalbą šiuolaikinėje spaudoje itin dažnai perteikia viena iš žymėtųjų heterogeninių formų – tipografiškai išskirta, semantiškai ir sintaksiškai autonomiška tiesioginė kalba. Ji yra šio darbo tyrimo objektas. Le discours direct qui fait l’objet de notre analyse est étudié dans le corpus comparable spécialisé d’une taille dė 500 000 d’occurrences, constitué d’articles de la presse politique lituanienne (“Lietuvos rytas”, “Lietuvos žinios”) qui datent de 2001–2004. Ce corpus ne contient ni interviews, ni débats, ni entretiens. Il est constitué d’articles politiques de la presse écrite du genre information et du commentaire. Dans cet article nous avons pour but de décrire les particularités syntaxiques du discours direct qui prouvent la présense du style parlé dans des textes du style journalistique. Le corpus comparable spécialisé est analysé par le moyen des méthodes déscriptive, comparative ainsi que la méthode de l’analyse automatique assistée par ordinateur. Un des traits les plus remarquables de l’oralité est la différence syntaxique des phrases du DD par rapport aux phrases du discours citant du journaliste. Le discours direct s’exprime par des phrases courtes, souvent élliptiques, incomplètes (nepilnieji sakiniai), atypiques (benariai sakiniai) etc. Selon la fréquence et la diversité des phrases des types mentionnés ainsi que l’abondance des particules énonciatives ou des mots du discours qui contribuent à créer une image dialogique de la situation d’énonciation originale, nous pouvons arriver à la conclusion que le discours direct de la presse politique constitue un écart par rapport à la norme syntaxique journalistique, signale l’oralité aussi que le ton oral et exprime la... Website localization can be defined as the process of modifying a website for a specific locale. The examination of the linguistic elements in the chosen multinational "Olympus", "Fujifilm", "Nikon", "Kodak" and "Canon" websites reveals the change of translation paradigm, cultural transposition and application of intercultural communication, the choice of extralinguistic and linguistic measures and the focus to the recipient, depending on its status, expectations, communicated goals and standards. The examined websites seek to present the companies. By localized versions it is attempted to introduce, inform, influence and establish a contact with the recipient using aesthetic, appealing and functional text functions. Text analysis suggests that the language expresses an aesthetic function in the international companies’ websites for the Lithuanian market. It helps to convey different semantic style figures (metaphors, comparisons, etc.). Dominant criterion of the localized texts is the communicative function where the quality of the text is of utmost importance. Analysis of language quality has revealed an urgent problem of qualification of translators and localization specialists. Vocabulary, morphology, syntax and style mistakes of localized texts in the Lithuanian language imply the lack of professionalism, knowledge of language. Localization of websites affects the recipient. Unprofessional localization can cause disinterest in the offered products, discourage a dialogue with the recipient, and also affect one’s speech

Prancūzų kalbos sakinio žodžių tvarką, struktūrą ir semantiką keičia sintaksinės konstrukcijos, kurios suteikia sakiniui ekspresyvumo. Straipsnyje išsamiau nagrinėjama viena iš dažniausių ir seniausių prancūzų kalbos pabrėžiamųjų sintaksinių konstrukcijų c’est...qui/ c’est...que (structure clivée), aptariama jos stilistinė funkcija, nustatomas vartojimo dažnis prancūzų kalbos trijų funkcinių stilių tekstuose (meniniame, publicistiniame ir moksliniame), analizuojamos vertimo į lietuvių kalbą ypatybės. Pabrėžimo perteikimas verčiant sintaksines konstrukcijas c’est...qui/ c’est...que tiriamas remiantis aktualiąja sakinio skaida, o stilius traktuojamas kaip kalbos priemonių pasirinkimą vertimo tekste determinuojantis veiksnys. Straipsnyje nagrinėjami pabrėžiamųjų sintaksinių konstrukcijų c’est…qui/ c’est…que vertimo polinkiai. Aptariamas svarbus vertėjo vaidmuo, jo lingvistinis įžvalgumas, leidžiantis deramai įvertinti semantines ir stilistines sintaksinės konstrukcijos ypatybes, paradigmiškai ir sintagmiškai parinkti tinkamiausią vertimo kalbos vienetą, nepažeidžiant lietuvių kalbos normos. The word order, structure and semantics of sentences in the French language are replaced with constructions bringing more expression to the sentence. The article thoroughly analyses one of the most common and oldest emphasising syntactic constructions of the French language – c’est...qui/ c’est...que (structure clivée), discusses its stylistic function, defines the frequency of the use thereof in texts of the three functional styles of the French language (artistic, publicist and scientific), and analyses peculiarities of translation into the Lithuanian language. The conveyance of emphasis when translating the syntactic construction c’est...qui/ c’est...que is analysed based on the actual spread of the sentence, and the style is approached as the factor determining the selection of language tools in the source text. The article analyses tendencies in translation of the emphasising syntactic constructions c’est…qui/ c’est…que. The important role of the translator and his linguistic perception allowing to properly evaluate peculiarities of the semantic and stylistic syntactic construction and to paradigmically and sintagmatically chose the most suitable item of the source language without violating the norms of the Lithuanian language is discussed.

Straipsnyje nagrinėjama viena iš žymėtų išreikšto heterogeniškumo formų - tiesioginė kalba. Analizės tikslas - aptarti pagrindinius tiesioginės kalbos bruožus, tirti šnekamosios kalbos vartojimą ir vaidmenį lietuvių ir prancūzų informacijos ir komentaro žanrų politinių straipsnių tiesioginėje kalboje, funkcinių stilių derinimą ir nustatyti dabartinės politinės spaudos tendencijas, leidinių skirtumus, sociokultūrines ypatybes. Darbui atlikti naudojamas daugiau kaip 1000000 žodžių specialusis lyginamasis tekstynas, sudarytas iš Lietuvos ryto, Lietuvos žinių, Liberation ir Le monde informacijos bei komentaro žanrų politinių straipsnių remiantis reprezentatyvumo, teminio ir probleminio panašumo, pragmatiškumo kriterijais. Tekstynas tiriamas atliekant kompiuterinę statistinę analizę ir taikant aprašomąjį lyginamąjį metodą. Contemporary texts in press tend to be heterogeneous. There are plenty of quotations, direct and indirect speech, references, allusions, etc. Marked and unmarked forms of heterogeneity complement the text, render novelty and originality to expression. The article deals with one of marked forms of expressed heterogeneity - direct speech. The aim of the analysis is to discuss the main features of direct speech; to analyze the usage and role of spoken language as well as agreement of functional styles in direct speech of Lithuanian and French political articles of information and comment genres; to determine the tendencies in contemporary political press, differences in publications, and social-cultural peculiarities. To carry out the work, a special comparative corpus, containing more than 1000000 words, was compiled. It was created using the political articles of information and comment genres, printed in Lietuvos rytas, Lietuvos žinios, Liberation and Le monde, following the criteria of presentability, thematic and problematic similarity, and pragmatism

Straipsnyje aptariami lingvistiniai citavimo ypatumai, citatų funkcijos bei cituojant perteikiamas atskirų laikraščių kalbos pobūdis lietuvių ir prancūzų politinėje spaudoje. Kontrastyvinei lingvistinei analizei atlikti naudojamas 500 000 žodžių lyginamasis tekstynas, sudarytas iš „Lietuvos ryto“, „Lietuvos žinių“, „Le monde“, „Liberation“ politinių straipsnių, remiantis reprezentatyvumo, pragmatiškumo, teminio panašumo kriterijais. Autorės teigimu, dabartinėje politinėje spaudoje gausiu citavimu („Lietuvos ryte“ citatos užima 11% teksto, „Liberation“ – 15,1%, „Le monde“ – 16,6%) yra išreiškiamas teksto heterogeniškumas, laikraščių kalbos ypatumai, spaudos žanrų bruožai. Todėl remiantis mažesniu „Lietuvos žinių“ citavimu (6,6%), skurdesne citatų funkcijų įvairove galima teigti, kad jame menkiau išreikštas teksto heterogeniškumas bei atskleisti žanrų ypatumai. Cituojančiosios ir cituojamosios kalbų jungimo tekste požymiai leidžia „Lietuvos ryto“ ir „Liberation“ kalbą laikyti implicitine argumentacija, „Lietuvos žinių“ – informacijos aiškinimu, o „Le monde“ – išsamiu informacijos aiškinimu. Remiantis cituojančiosios kalbos ir prieštaravimo, vertinimo funkcijų citatų jungimo tekste požymiais, ironijos raiškos ypatumais „Lietuvos ryto“, „Liberation“, „Le monde“ straipsnių politinė kalba laikytina polemine, tačiau „Lietuvos žiniose“ cituojant menkai perteikiamas šis spaudos bruožas. Jungiant cituojančiąja ir cituojamąją kalbas tiriamųjų laikraščių politiniuose tekstuose beveik neišreiškiami sociokultūriniai lietuvių ir prancūzų skirtumai. The paper discusses linguistic peculiarities of quotation, the functions of quotes and the nature of discourse of individual Lithuanian and French political newspapers conveyed while quoting. The contrastive linguistic analysis uses a comparative corpus of 500 000 words, compiled from the political articles of “Lietuvos rytas”, “Lietuvos žinios”, “Le monde” and “Liberation”, applying the criteria of representativeness, pragmatism and thematic similarity. The author claims that profuse quotation in the current political press (11% of text in “Lietuvos rytas”, 15.1% in “Liberation”, and 16.6% in “Le monde”) expresses text heterogeneity, the peculiarities of newspaper discourse and the features of press genres. Thus, basing on a smaller share of quotes in “Lietuvos žinios” (6.6%), smaller variety of quote functions, we could state that it more weakly expresses text heterogeneity and reveals genre peculiarities. The features of connecting quoting and quoted discourse in the text show that the discourse of “Lietuvos rytas” and “Liberation” is implicit argumentation, “Lietuvos žinios” – information explanation, whereas “Le monde” – thorough information explanation. According to the characteristics of connection of the quoting discourse and the quotes of contradiction and evaluation functions in the text as well as the peculiarities of expressing irony, the political discourse of “Lietuvos rytas”, “Liberation” and “Le monde” articles is considered to be polemic; however, this characteristic of the press is weakly conveyed in the quotes of “Lietuvos žinios”. The connections of quoting and quoted discourse in the political texts of mentioned newspapers almost do not express sociocultural differences between Lithuanian and French.
