In the information age, data storage technology has become the key to improving computer systems. Since traditional storage technologies cannot meet the demand for massive storage, new DNA storage technology based on biomolecules attracts much attention. DNA storage refers to the technology that uses artificially synthesized deoxynucleotide chains to store and read all information, such as documents, pictures, and audio. First, data are encoded into binary number strings. Then, the four types of base, A(Adenine), T(Thymine), C(Cytosine), and G(Guanine), are used to encode the corresponding binary numbers so that the data can be used to construct the target DNA molecules in the form of deoxynucleotide chains. Subsequently, the corresponding DNA molecules are artificially synthesized, enabling the data to be stored within them. Compared with traditional storage systems, DNA storage has major advantages, such as high storage density, long duration, as well as low hardware cost, high access parallelism, and strong scalability, which satisfies the demands for big data storage. This manuscript first reviews the origin and development of DNA storage technology, then the storage principles, contents, and methods are introduced. Finally, the development of DNA storage technology is analyzed. From the initial research to the cutting edge of this field and beyond, the advantages, disadvantages, and practical applications of DNA storage technology require continuous exploration.

Le projet AMALDarium vise à offrir sur la plateforme lingwarium.org (1) un service d’analyse morphologique de l’allemand (AMALD-serveur), à grande couverture et de haute qualité, traitant la flexion, la dérivation et la composition, ainsi que les verbes à particule séparable séparée (ou agglutinée), (2) un corpus de référence de haute qualité donnant tous les résultats possibles de l’analyse morphologique, avant filtrage par une méthode statistique ou syntaxique, et (3) une plateforme (AMALD-éval) permettant d’organiser des évaluations comparatives, dans la perspective d’améliorer les performances d’algorithmes d’apprentissage en morphologie. Nous présentons ici une démonstration en ligne seulement de AMALD-serveur et AMALD-corpus. Le corpus est un sous-ensemble anonymisé et vérifié d’un corpus en allemand formé de textes sur le cancer du sein, contenant de nombreux mots composés techniques.

Après un essai infructueux d'extraction terminologique à partir de corpus comparables spécialisés dans trois langues différentes, l'idée est d'ajouter pour chaque langue des sous-corpus du registre courant afin d'y détecter des relations de synonymie. Or ce type de ressource n'existe pas. Nous présentons la constitution d'un corpus de 400 K mots en allemand dans le domaine de la cancérologie, subdivisé en deux sous-corpus de même taille. À partir d'équivalents en allemand du mot clé « cancer du sein », nous avons recueilli pour un premier sous-corpus, des textes qui s'adressent à des patientes (et des patients) ou à leurs familles, et pour un second sous-corpus, des textes qui s'adressent à des médecins ou des chercheurs en médecine. Introduction Dans le cadre de la communication d'entreprise, il est exprimé le besoin d'obtenir des données décrivant les mêmes signifiés mais dans des registres différents. La première idée a été de collecter des textes d'experts dans un domaine spécialisé et dans différentes langues, afin d'extraire automatiquement de ces corpus des termes ayant à l'intérieur d'une même langue une relation de synonymie. L'extraction terminologique à partir des corpus de textes pour experts n'a pas fourni les résultats escomptés (Delpech, 2013). La seconde idée pour créer cet aligneur d'unités polylexicales est alors d'ajouter au corpus des textes sur un sujet d'expertise, mais cette fois rédigés en langue générale, afin de s'assurer de la présence dans la même langue de plusieurs termes ayant une relation paraphrastique entre eux. Un nouveau besoin apparaît alors en corpus de qualité, construit à partir de textes d'experts du domaine médical dans différentes langues, pour une part rédigés pour d'autres experts, et pour une autre part égale, à destination du grand public. Or il s'avère qu'une telle ressource n'existe pas, du moins dans le domaine médical. Nous avons construit la ressource nécessaire pour l'allemand, à partir de textes contenant les mots « Brustkrebs » ou « Mammakarzinom », équivalents du terme « cancer du sein ». La première partie de cet article présente comment les textes ont été collectés, choisis et recensés. La seconde partie décrit le nettoyage des textes, leur anonymisation et le résultat final.

International audience; How to find words with the same meaning in different language registers? After an unsuccessful attempt at terminological extraction from comparable specialized corpora from the medical domain, in three different languages (English, German, French), the idea here is to add sub-corpora from the common register for each language, in order to detect synonymy relationships between words. This kind of resource doesn’t exist yet for medical specialized German. We present the construction of a corpus of 400 000 words in German in the domain of cancerology; this corpus is divided in two halves of the same length. La prise en charge par orthèses du petit appareillage des pathologies du rachis thoraco-lombal − aiguës ou chroniques, bénignes ou graves, communes ou symptomatiques,… − appartient au domaine de compétence du pharmacien orthésiste titulaire du diplôme universitaire d'orthopédie. La thèse recense les possibilités et les moyens d'intervention, par orthèses, du pharmacien dans les pathologies thoraciques et lombales les plus fréquemment rencontrées à l'officine. Sont tout d'abord rappelées les notions anatomiques ndispensables à connaître afin de comprendre la physiopathologie. Après un exposé de l'aspect réglementaire, est abordée l'étude des différentes orthèses qui comprennent : les ceintures lombaires de série, les corsets de série, les orthèses thoraciques et les redresse-dos. Un recensement exhaustif et précis de ce type d'orthèses présentes sur le marché a été effectué afin de présenter toutes les possibilités thérapeutiques orthètiques existantes. Enfin sont abordés le rôle du pharmacien et sa capacité à répondre aux attentes des patients, du corps médical et des organismes de santé publique dans le domaine de l'orthopédie. Il résulte de ce travail l'élaboration d'une méthode de dispensation des ceintures lombaires de série destinée à guider, d'une façon claire et précise, l'orthésiste dans sa pratique quotidienne. Ainsi, cette thèse a cherché à donner les moyens au pharmacien orthésiste de répondre aux attentes de santé publique et d'obtenir de tous la reconnaissance de ses compétences.

International audience; We discovered the emergence of a new situation of bilingual writing in the industry: Workers are asked to produce a version of their document in English. But they cannot benefit from available tools to produce good enough translations. Sometimes, baldly translated specifications lead to the development of totally inadequate products. We propose a first scenario using existing free tools and a second (more futuristic) approach to build a true bilingual writing tool for these “technical translating writers”.

How to adapt translation technologies, initially designed for professional translators, to domain experts who have to translate for their company?We address this issue by first comparing the practices of two groups of translators, professional and non-professional, with two surveys. Secondly, we built a corpus of translations done by domain experts and we studied it to reinforce the analysis. The most obvious difference are the use of machine translation (MT) and the production context. Actually, the reality in companies shows texts, in source language that often cannot be processed by machines; we propose to focus on text processability. By looking at current MT technologies, it appears that they can either post-edit the texts that are in target language, after the translation process or pre-edit the texts that are in source language, before the translation process. We propose to take advantage of the unprecedented situation of having the "writer" and the "translator" working together, to use the writer expertise during the translation process by creating a new MT feature that allow editing during the process., Comment adapter des technologies de la traduction, initialement conçues pour des traducteurs spécialisés professionnels, à des experts métier devant traduire pour leur entreprise ? Pour répondre à cette question, nous avons comparé les pratiques de ces deux types d'utilisateurs, à l’aide de questionnaires. Ensuite, nous avons constitué un corpus à partir de traductions d’experts métier et nous l’avons passé en revue pour renforcer l’analyse des différences. La différence la plus flagrante est l'utilisation de la traduction automatique (TA) ainsi que le contexte de production des traductions. La réalité du terrain montre en effet des textes source qui ne sont souvent pas exploitables par des machines ; nous proposons de travailler sur l'exploitabilité informatique des textes. En étudiant les technologies de TA actuelles, nous constatons qu'elles permettent soit une post-édition en langue cible après le processus de traduction, soit une pré-édition en langue source avant le processus de traduction. Nous suggérons de tirer profit de la situation inédite de rédacteur traduisant, pour utiliser l’expertise du rédacteur pendant le processus de traduction et de développer une fonctionnalité de TA permettant une édition en cours de processus.

International audience; In the SAP implementation industry, more and more German or French speaking IT-Engineers are required to write bilingual functional design specifications, because most of the programming is now done by Indians. As the domain is too specific, and no budget is available for linguistic purposes, translators are not integrated in the process. We conducted a survey to find out which linguistic tools are used, and we built a corpus of these bilingual specifications, focusing on 2 criteria: linguistic clarity of the source text, and fidelity of the translated text.

International audience; Newborn calf omphalitis, following navel infection by fecal bacteria after calving, ranks third of neonatal pathology. The mortality rate of this affection is close to 8% in French herds and can affect herds in an enzootic way. The infection is multifactorial. In this trial, 128 calves coming from 15 dairy farms, born in autumn, were examined and followed for 3 months to assess risk factors for omphalitis. 65 were Montbeliard breed calves, 35 were Prim Holstein, and others were crossbred. Colostrum quality and colostral transfer, calving management, calf housing and many other factors were evaluated in this study. 13 omphalitis were detected and the results confirmed that male are more at risk to develop omphalitis than female calves. The rise of digital corpora of literary manuscripts has added a substantial amount of linguistic data to our heritage that can be analyzed and processed automatically. The transcription of the content of these manuscripts in digital text format allows thousands of words to be examined in a few seconds. Studying different versions of a literary work requires time-consuming examination by researchers in the field of literature. New methodological issues thus arise: how can information technology tools be best put to use to help researchers? What new studies are made possible by this progress? After an overview of textual genetic analysis and of the existing tools for natural language processing in this domain, we will outline the modelling, on Stendhal's manuscripts, of three functions that can aid literary researchers in their analysis of author's libraries, theatrical writing and code-switching., L'apparition de corpus numériques de manuscrits littéraires a enrichi notre patrimoine d'une donnée langagière analysable et traitable automatiquement. La transcription du contenu de ces manuscrits dans un format numérique textuel permet de parcourir en quelques secondes des milliers de mots. L'étude des différentes versions d'une œuvre littéraire donne lieu à des enquêtes fastidieuses de la part des chercheurs en littérature. Se posent alors de nouvelles questions de méthodologie de travail : comment exploiter au mieux l'outil informatique pour assister le chercheur, quelles sont les nouvelles études envisageables grâce aux progrès ? Après un aperçu de l'analyse génétique et d'outils de traitement automatique des langues existants dans le domaine, nous présentons la modélisation sur les manuscrits de Stendhal de trois fonctionnalités à trois niveaux de granularité qui assisteraient les chercheurs en littérature dans leur analyse sur les bibliothèques d'auteurs, le théâtre ou le code-switching.

International audience; We have carried out an analysis of the synthesis, cellular accumulation, and membrane binding of the chloroplast-encoded subunits of the ATP synthase ($\alpha$, $\beta$, $\epsilon$, I, III, and IV) in several mutants of $Chlamydomonas\ reinhardtii$ defective in photophosphorylation. These data gave some insight on the putative genetic lesion in each mutant and allowed some characterization of the assembly and stabilization of the ATP synthase complex in the thylakoid membranes. Four chloroplast mutants are likely to be altered in chloroplast structural genes coding for coupling factor (CF) 1 subunits $\beta$ and $\epsilon$ and for CF$_o$ subunits I and IV. A fifth chloroplast mutant and three nuclear mutants were altered in genes regulating either transcription or translation of chloroplast genes coding for CF1 sub-units $\alpha$ and $\beta$ and CF$_o$ subunits III and IV. Evidence is presented (i) for a control of the rate of synthesis of subunit $\beta$ by subunit $\alpha$ in the absence of ATP synthase assembly and (ii) for an interaction between $\alpha$ and $\beta$ subunits in the stroma of the chloroplast which protects $\alpha$ subunits from proteolytic degradation. The role of several chloroplast-encoded subunits of CF$_o$ and CF$_1$ in the stabilization of partially assembled ATP synthase is discussed. We conclude that in the absence of ATP synthase assembly, CF$_o$ cannot accumulate in the thylakoid membranes, whereas $\alpha$ and $\beta$ subunits, presumably engaged in soluble CF$_1$, can accumulate in the stroma of the chloroplast.
