In turbulent markets, where decisions need to be ever faster, you must always select the appropriate and timely choices, made inexpensively and precisely. That's globalized world, where changes in the market are constant and businesses face enormous difficulties to remain competitive and growing. Large corporations also began to compete strongly with local trading companies, especially through ecommerce, making it essential to use mechanisms that allow managers to more efficient management of business resources. Given this context, this paper describes the implementation of a Business Intelligence solution, a Data mart, with the use of free software (Pentaho), aiming to provide the financial management information, more precisely the billing process of a company in the retail industry, which uses shelf software to control their business processes. It was observed, based on the survey results, the Data mart proposed enabled fast, easy, flexible and secure analysis, with immediate applicability and serving as an instrument to support the organization's strategic planning. Furthermore, this work pointed out that is entirely feasible, in technical and financial terms, the deployment of free BI tools for small businesses. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
