Background General practitioners (GPs) mainly provide basic medical and health services. The construction of GPs human resources is closely related to the development of primary care system. Objective To investigate the current status of psychological capital (PsyCap) , professional identity, and intention to stay of GPs in China and explore the relationship among the above three. Methods A total of 4 632 GPs were selected for electronic questionnaire investigation in the eastern, central, and western China from March to May in 2021 by using a multi-stage stratified random sampling. The questionnaire mainly included basic information, PsyCap, professional identity, and intention to stay. Pearson correlation analysis, hierarchical multiple regression analysis and structural equation model were used to explore the relationship among professional identity, PsyCap, and intention to stay. Results A total of 4 376 GPs were included with the effective response rate of 94.47%. The total scores of PsyCap, professional identity, and intention to stay were (102.89±16.94) , (33.93±8.95) , and (21.69±4.04) , respectively. General practitioners are medical personnel with high integrated degree, and are the "gatekeepers" of residents' health. Violent incidents affecting health care not only seriously harm the the physical and psychological health of general practitioners, also affect the quality and level of basic medical services, which increases the turnover of general practitioners and the economic burden on the health care system. Previous studies have shown that more than half of general practitioners had experienced workplace violence, with the most common types including verbal violence and threats, followed by physical violence, sexual harassment and assault, patients and their family members were the main perpetrators. The failure of the medical services quality to meet the demands of patients, alcohol abuse, drug abuse and mental disorders of perpetrators, poor physician-patient communication were important factors associated with workplace violence. It is suggested to improve policies and regulations, norms of conduct related to workplace violence of healthcare workers, establish and improve the reporting and punishment mechanisms, enhance the capacity of healthcare workers and health care institutions to provide medical services and prevent workplace violence, give proper play to the role of the public media, promote the establishment of "zero-tolerance" system for violence.

Currently, there are no available studies on relationships between perception of workplace violence (WPV) by patients, psychological capital (PsyCap) , and professional identity among general practitioners (GPs) in China. Background: Turnover among general practitioners (GPs) has become a significant public health concern worldwide. Aims: This study aimed to investigate the interrelationships between job satisfaction, professional identity, burnout, and turnover intention among GPs in China and to assess the mediating effect of job satisfaction on the association between burnout and turnover intention and the moderating effect of professional identity on the association between burnout and job satisfaction. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted to collect data from 3,236 GPs in eastern, central, and western China between October 2017 and February 2018 using a self-administered questionnaire. Pearson's correlation analysis and hierarchical regression were used to identify the relationships between job satisfaction, professional identity, burnout, and turnover intention among Chinese GPs. Results: Among these respondents, 65.02% reported a medium or high level of emotional exhaustion (EE), 35.38% reported a moderate or high level of depersonalization (DP), and 62.05% reported reduced personal achievement (PA). Overall, 71.08% of GPs expressed a relatively high intention to seek another position (turnover intention). We found all 3 dimensions of burnout contributed to job dissatisfaction while turnover intention arising from burnout was associated with EE and DP. Job satisfaction had a direct negative impact on turnover intention and partially mediated the impact of EE and DP on turnover intention. Professional identity played a partial moderated role between EE and job satisfaction. Conclusions: The prevalence of burnout and turnover intention among GPs is high in China. The effect of EE and DP on turnover intention is mediated by job satisfaction, and the effect of EE on job satisfaction is moderated by professional identity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

When committed against pregnant women, sexual violence may have adverse health consequences for both the mother and the unborn child. To date, no studies have systematically summarized the global prevalence of sexual violence against pregnant women. We conducted a comprehensive search of PubMed, Embase and Web of Science from inception dates to January 2021 for studies reporting the prevalence of sexual violence against pregnant women. Prevalence was estimated using a random-effects meta-analysis. Heterogeneity was evaluated using the I2 statistic. Differences by study level characteristics were estimated through subgroup analysis and meta-regression. A total of 10 cross-sectional studies (a total of 8,439 participants) were included. The pooled proportion of sexual violence was 0.31 (95% CI: 0.22–0.40). Subgroup analyses showed higher prevalence of sexual violence against pregnant women in the 2010–2019 period (0.35, 95% CI0.15–7.53) and developing countries (0.32, 95% CI0.19–0.45). Almost one in three (31%) pregnant women around the world has been a victim of sexual violence in their lifetime. Sexual violence against pregnant women continues to be a major public health challenge. Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the level of acceptance of family doctors (FDs) exhibited by residents in China., Methods: A cross-sectional study based on a structured self-administered questionnaire was conducted to investigate residents in eastern, central, and western China between September and December 2021. A multivariable stepwise logistic regression model was employed to identify the factors associated with health-seeking behavior after the signing of agreements concerning family doctor contract services (FDCS) as well as residents' willingness to change FDs., Results: Among the 2,394 respondents included in this research, 55.8% sought primary care from their FDs when they became ill, whereas 9.7% expressed a willingness to change FDs. Residents who reported high levels of satisfaction with FDCS [odds ratio (OR) = 2.162] and trust in FDs (OR = 1.430) were more likely to seek initial help from FDs. In addition, residents from central China (OR = 0.546) and western China (OR = 0.704) and those who exhibited a high level of trust in FDs (OR = 0.238) were less likely to change FDs., Conclusion: The level of FD acceptance among Chinese residents was relatively high. Satisfaction with FDCS and trust in FDs were associated with the acceptance of FDs among residents.
