This article explores the challenges and opportunities of digital equity with a particular focus on adult learning in an increasingly digitally connected society. It argues that digital inequalities caused by a lack of access to infrastructure and digital skills are more complex than often assumed and cannot be overcome through the provision of technical resources and training alone. Instead, a differentiated approach is required that takes into account the complex facets of digital inequality and its impact on education, social participation and the labour market. The article first examines the theoretical foundations of digital equity and then uses a practical example, an online course for refugees, to show how digital educational opportunities can be designed to meet the specific needs of marginalised groups. Finally, a toolkit is presented that can serve as a guide for educational institutions to develop their own inclusive digital education programmes. Information science in Germany is undergoing a transformation as several information science institutes have been closed. There are still three locations where information science can be studied. The authors of the article note that information science lacks a professional canon, which poses difficulties for graduates in the job market. The training content is often focused on library activities and lacks in-depth research. The handling of open access is criticized, and the question is raised whether an information science perspective on it would be meaningful. Information science should evolve towards computer science and develop a canonical self-understanding in order to exist as an independent discipline. [Extracted from the article]

Im Sinne der Strategien der EU und der Kultusministerkonferenz sollen in Schulen ab dem Grundschulalter eine Digitale Bildung in das Curriculum integriert und digitale Kompetenzen der Schüler:innen gezielt gefördert werden. Zum Stand dieser Entwicklung liegen kaum empirische Beiträge vor. Der Beitrag führt Perspektiven schulischer Akteur:innen zusammen, die mittels Fokusgruppeninterviews befragt und in einem partizipativen Verfahren beteiligt waren, um Handlungsempfehlungen zur Weiterentwicklung einer Digitalen Bildung im Grundschulalter zu entwickeln. Die Studienergebnisse machen deutlich, dass Schulen eine bessere technische Ausstattung, zuverlässigen Internetzugang und klare, curriculare Vorgaben für den Einsatz digitaler Medien benötigen. Zudem wurde die Bedeutung von multiprofessionellen Teams und gezielter Fortbildung für Lehrkräfte hervorgehoben. Pädagogisch betonten die Befragten eine veränderte Rolle der Lehrkräfte hin zu Begleiter:innen im digitalen Lernprozess und die Notwendigkeit, die digitalen Kompetenzen der Schüler:innen zu fördern. In der Studie wurden verschiedene partizipative Methoden genutzt, um vielfältige Perspektiven einzubeziehen. In diesem Rahmen wurden die Ergebnisse trianguliert. Die daraus entwickelten Handlungsempfehlungen, welche Bildungspolitik, Schuladministration und die konkreten Schulen gleichermassen adressieren, repräsentieren Orientierungspunkte für die Gestaltung der Digitalen Bildung im Grundschulalter.

Dieser Beitrag untersucht, wie Rechtsextremismus in den Kernlehrplänen und Schulbüchern des sozialwissenschaftlichen Unterrichts Nordrhein-Westfalens thematisiert wird. Es wird beschrieben, welches Verständnis von Rechtsextremismus in beiden Domänen vermittelt wird, welche inhaltlichen Schwerpunkte gesetzt und welche didaktischen Ziele verfolgt werden. Die Untersuchung weist nach, dass eine staatszentrierte Perspektive auf Rechtsextremismus, entlang des behördlichen Rechtsextremismusbegriffs, an die Schüler:innen vermittelt wird. Rechtsextremismus wird zudem in beiden Domänen nicht nur oft historisiert, sondern seine Ursachen werden nur randständig thematisiert. Schulbücher und Kernlehrpläne legen einen methodisch-didaktischen Schwerpunkt auf den Aufbau von Fachwissen zum Thema, sparen die politische Urteilskompetenz allerdings fast aus. Für die politische Bildung wird auf Basis der Erkenntnisse ein neues Verständnis von Rechtsextremismus vorgeschlagen, das einen stärkeren methodisch-didaktischen Fokus auf die Urteilskompetenz der Schüler:innen und einen größeren inhaltlichen Schwerpunkt auf die Verbreitung rechtsextremer Einstellungen in der Gesamtgesellschaft legt.

Um Making auch im Fachunterricht, der einen hohen Lehrplanbezug aufweist, umsetzen zu können, ist aus Sicht einer Lehrperson eine Öffnung des Unterrichts, verbunden mit dem schrittweisen Verlassen der ‹curricularen Komfortzone›, notwendig. Diese Öffnung kann auf verschiedene Arten wie Making im fächerübergreifenden Unterricht, Making im Projektbasierten Lernen (PBL) und ‹Making Vanilla› mit jeweils unterschiedlicher Distanz zur ‹curricularen Komfortzone› und unterschiedlicher Berücksichtigung vorgegebener Lernziele stattfinden. Es ist empfehlenswert, die Sichtbarkeit der Lernziele im Making im Voraus zu überdenken. Ob die Lernziele versteckt, offen, oder beliebig montiert sind, legt die Mitbestimmungsfähigkeit der Schüler:innen beim Making bereits in der Vorbereitung des Unterrichtsvorhabens, aber auch den Lehrplanbezug selbst fest. Um einen gemeinsamen Standpunkt zum Making zu definieren, eignen sich verschiedene Vorgehensweisen zum Verbinden der Lernziele aus verschiedenen Fachbereichslehrplänen. Offensichtliche Querverweise zu Lernzielen, gleiche Themen für Lernziele, ähnliche Operatoren in Lernzielen und zufällige Kombinationen von Lernzielen bieten unterschiedlich kreative, für die Lehrperson auch unterschiedlich ‹komfortable›, problemorientierte Fragestellungen für Making-Vorhaben und -Projekte an. Methoden des Design Thinking sind gut geeignet, solche problemorientierten Fragestellungen zu finden, seien es Alltagsphänomene oder andere authentische Probleme.

Lehrplanentwicklung wird von bildungspolitischen Vorgaben und fachdidaktischen Konzeptionen beeinflusst. Dieser Beitrag untersucht die gymnasialen Lehrpläne in der Schweiz exemplarisch für die ökonomische Bildung hinsichtlich der Bildungsziele sowie der überfachlichen und fachlichen Kompetenzen. Es wurde ein repräsentativer Dokumentenkorpus erstellt, die textuellen Daten qualitativ ausgewertet und entlang struktureller Merkmale verglichen (Fachkategorie, Lehrplansprache). Die Ergebnisse zeigen, inwiefern die Lehrpläne unterschiedlichen fachdidaktischen Konzeptionen und sprachkulturellen Traditionen folgen. Diese Erkenntnisse können für Lehrplananalysen anderer gymnasialer Fächer und für die zukünftige Lehrplanentwicklung insbesondere in der Domäne der ökonomischen Bildung leitend sein.

Um die Anforderungen der Promotion bewältigen zu können, müssen Promovierende spezifische Kompetenzen aufbauen. Ein Kurs- und Beratungsangebot der Hochschulbibliothek kann dabei unterstützen, wenn es fachlich und am Bedarf der Zielgruppe ausgerichtet ist. Es wird gezeigt, wie die Konzeption und Umsetzung eines solchen Kurs- und Beratungsangebotes für Promovierende der Ingenieurwissenschaften an Hochschulen für angewandte Wissenschaften gestaltet werden können. Grundlage des Artikels bildet die Masterarbeit der Autorin mit demselben Titel, die an der TH Köln unter der Betreuung von Frau Prof. Dr. Inka Tappenbeck und Prof. Dr. Claudia Frick im Studiengang Bibliotheks- und Informationswissenschaft entstanden ist. In order to be able to cope with the demands of doctoral studies, PhD students need to build up specific competences. A course and advisory service offered by the university library can support them, if it is oriented towards the subject and the needs of the target group. It is described how the conception and implementation of such a course and counselling offer for doctoral students in engineering sciences at universities of applied sciences can be designed. Das neue Schulfach Digitale Grundbildung (DGB) wurde als Pflichtfach in der Sekundarstufe I mit überarbeitetem Lehrplan verankert – ein Grund zur Freude, dass der Digitalisierung auch innerhalb der schulische Bildung endlich die nötige Aufmerksamkeit gegeben wird. Das Fach stellt, besonders vor dem Hintergrund der Initiativen, die im Rahmen des 8-Punkte Plans der Bundesregierung gesetzt wurden, die notwendige Brücke zwischen Infrastruktur-Maßnahmen, Inhalten und der tatsächlichen Nutzung dieser Ressourcen dar. Das neue Schulfach Digitale Grundbildung – eine Projektionsfläche für mannigfaltige Bedürfnislagen. Aus Informatikperspektive und Sicht der Wirtschaft bietet es eine Gelegenheit, kompetenzorientierten Informatikunterricht schon in der Sekundarstufe I beginnen zu lassen. Aus medienpädagogischem Betrachtungswinkel ist das Fach ein lang gewünschtes Gefäß, um jungen Menschen ein besseres Verständnis von Medien und eine kompetente Mediennutzung nahezubringen. Aus der im Folgenden abgebildeten Perspektive des Zentrums für Lehrer*innenbildung der Universität Wien bietet das Schulfach den notwendigen Rahmen, um zumindest ansatzweise inklusive, diversitätsgerechte und interdisziplinäre Perspektiven auf die Digitalisierung und ihre sozialen, kulturellen, politschen und gesellschaftlichen Aus- und Wechselwirkungen zusammenzuführen.

Um die bereits abgelaufenen Diskussionen zur Digitalen Grundbildung im Frühjahr 2022 zu dokumentieren, publizieren die MEDIENIMPULSE mit diesem Beitrag die Stellungnahme des Bundesverbands Medienbildung (BVMB) zum Entwurf des Lehrplans für Digitale Grundbildung vom 02.05.2022. Der Obmann Christian Swertz hat in Abstimmung mit dem Bundesverband diese Stellungnahme formuliert.

Objective: In this study, we aim to assess the current situation of postgraduate medical education in obstetrics and gynaecology in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In addition, we aim to determine transferable advantages amongst the countries. Study design: We performed a survey through a digital questionnaire with a total of 40 questions. The survey was advertised via communic- ation channels of the German, Austrian and Swiss gynaecological societies; the participants were enrolled anonymously. Results: A total of 422 trainees took part in the survey. Differences within the three countries where found regarding the workload and the training of sub-specialties. Generally, the participants described to spend the majority of their daily working hours on documentation. Concerning assessment of current training regulations, more than half of trainees stated that they were actually faced with notable difficulties to fulfil the required obligatory numbers of self-performed interventions being documented. When asked for their intrinsic feeling of safety, around two-third of trainees felt “confident to very confident” during standard interventions. These numbers were up to 12% higher in the group of trainees who experienced simulation training during their education. Conclusion: With the help of this survey, weak points can be identified such as workload and implementation of current training regulations. Projects and ideas as EBCOG PACT, EPAs, the reduction of bureaucracy through digitization and deepening skills through simulation make a valuable contribution to compensate for these deficits and to adapt to future requirements. Der Erwerb von Kompetenzen zum naturwissenschaftlichen Denken (scientific reasoning) wird in den nationalen Bildungsstandards gefordert. Damit naturwissenschaftliches Denken in den Unterrichtsalltag integriert wird, ist eine Implementierung in die rechtlich bindenden Lehrpläne erforderlich. Die styles of scientific reasoning (Experimentieren, Modellieren, Kategorisieren & Klassifizieren, deduktives, probabilistisches & historisch-evolutionäres Schlussfolgern) nach Kind und Osborne (2017) erlauben eine differenzierte Betrachtung des Konstrukts, indem sie auf einer prozeduralen und epistemischen Ebene verschiedene biologiespezifische Arbeits- und Denkweisen beschreiben. Mit der Analyse der Lehrpläne aller Bundesländer soll ein Überblick gewonnen werden, inwieweit verschiedene Aspekte der styles of scientific reasoning in den Lehrplänen implementiert sind. Die Analyse findet an den aktuell geltenden Biologie-Lehrplänen der Bundesländer für die Sekundarstufe II statt. Die Dokumente wurden auf Basis eines Kategoriensystems, das Kompetenzerwartungen zu den einzelnen styles enthält, kodiert. Über alle Lehrpläne hinweg ließen sich 20 Kompetenzerwartungen finden. Statt einer gleichmäßigen Berücksichtigung der styles zeigt sich eine Fokussierung auf die Arbeitsweise Experimentieren, dort auf vorwiegend prozedurale Subkategorien wie „Experimente durchführen“. Subkategorien aus dem style probabilistisches und historisch-evolutionäres Schlussfolgern finden sich selten wieder. Ein Zusammenhang zwischen der Anzahl der gefundenen Subkategorien und dem Erscheinungsjahr der Lehrpläne ist nicht erkennbar. Scientific reasoning ist hinsichtlich der styles demnach nur teilweise in den Lehrplänen repräsentiert. Explizit zu fördernde epistemische Aspekte treten genauso wie die Denkweisen probabilistisches und historisch-evolutionäres Schlussfolgern in den Lehrplänen selten auf.

Der erste Teil des Beitrags gibt Einblick zur Implementierung von Medienpädagogik und Medienbildung in den aktuellen Lehrplänen der Bildungsanstalten für Elementarpädagogik. Der Blickwinkel zeigt auf, welche Aspekte der Medienbildung und in welchem Umfang Zielorientierungen entlang dem Erwerb medienpädagogischer Kompetenzen von Kindheitspädagoginnen und -pädagogen im Ausbildungskontext aktuell Berücksichtigung finden und wie diese umgesetzt werden (können). Im zweiten Teil des Beitrags werden Tendenzen und Wahrnehmungen zur Umsetzung curricularer Zielorientierungen dazu wie auch Akzentuierungen und Beobachtungen im aktuellen elementarpädagogischen Feld im Zuge der Praktikumsbegleitung am Beispiel der Bundesbildungsanstalt für Elementarpädagogik Innsbruck skizziert. Die Autorin, welche selbst Lehrende am genannten Standort ist, ergänzt beobachtbare Entwicklungen mit reflektierenden wie auch visionierenden Sichtweisen unter Bezugnahme ausgewählter Inhalte aus dem Fachdiskurs 'Medien und frühe Bildung'. In der Verbindung der deskriptiven Darlegung der zumeist wenig bekannten Lehr- und Lerninhalte der Bildungsanstalten für Elementarpädagogik unter dem Fokus Medienbildung – mit der Reflexion von medienpädagogischer Diskurswahrnehmungen in der Ausbildung von Kindheitspädagoginnen und -pädagogen – wie auch konkreter Praxisbeispiele aus der Handlungspraxis Kindergarten selbst, zeigt der Beitrag aktuelle Akzentuierungen und mögliche Entwicklungstendenzen rund um das Feld 'Frühe Medienbildung im Kindergarten' auf.
