6. Creation of two-dimensional layered Zintl phase by dimensional manipulation of crystal structure.

Abstract

The discovery of new families, beyond graphene, of two-dimensional (2D) layered materials has always attracted great attention. However, it has been challenging to artificially develop layered materials with honeycomb atomic lattice structure composed of multicomponents such as hexagonal boron nitride. Here, through the dimensional manipulation of a crystal structure from sp3-hybridized 3D-ZnSb, we create an unprecedented layered structure of Zintl phase, which is constructed by the staking of sp2-hybridized honeycomb ZnSb layers. Using structural analysis combined with theoretical calculation, it is found that the 2D-ZnSb has a stable and robust layered structure. The bidimensional polymorphism is a previously unobserved phenomenon at ambient pressure in Zintl families and can be a common feature of transition metal pnictides. This dimensional manipulation of a crystal structure thus provides a rational design strategy to search for new 2D layered materials in various compounds, enabling unlimited expansion of 2D libraries and corresponding physical properties.

Abstract

Cybercrime threat intelligence enables proactive measures against threat actors and informed, data-driven security decisions. This study proposes a practical implementation of cybercrime threat intelligence in the Arab world by integrating Indicators of Compromise and collecting security alerts from honeypot systems and open-source intelligence. The data collected are stored on the Malware Information Sharing Platform, an open-source platform used to create and share Indicators of Compromise. This study highlights the intuitive interface of the Malware Information Sharing Platform for data analysis, threat identification, and the correlation of Indicators of Compromise. In addition, machine learning techniques are applied to improve predictive accuracy and identify patterns in the data. The decision tree classifier achieves a high accuracy of 99.79%, and the results reveal significant potential cyber-threats, demonstrating the effectiveness of the platform in providing actionable information to prevent, detect, and respond to cybercrime. Abstract

Robust oxide electrodes with high activity and durability have attracted significant attention as alternatives for Ni‐based cathodes in high‐temperature solid oxide electrolysis cells (SOECs). Noncoking La(Sr)Cr(Mn)O3 (LSCM)‐based oxide cathodes have shown promise as durable ceramic cathodes; however, they suffer from low electrocatalytic activities in electrochemical CO2 reduction. In this study, a dual‐phase composite electrode consisting of LSCM and Ce(Mn, Fe)O2 (CMF) is developed to enhance the electrocatalytic activity of CO2 reduction in SOECs. The developed electrode shows excellent electrolysis performance of 2.64 and 1.22 A cm–2 at 1123 K, when voltages of 1.5 and 1.2 V are applied, respectively, without using any precious metal catalysts. The enhanced electrolysis performance is attributed to increases in electrocatalytic activity and surface oxygen vacancies caused by the CMF, which accelerates CO2 adsorption and results in the subsequent dissociation of the carbonate intermediate in the CO2 reduction.
