3. EFFECTS OF HERPETIC INFECTIONS ON THE FORMATION OF DEVELOPMENTAL FAULTS IN CHILDREN WITH MUKOVISCIDOSIS

Abstract

The article presents the results of a study of immunity to herpesviruses in children with cystic fibrosis (CF). The data obtained prove a high level of infection of children with CF with herpes simplex virus (HSV), cytomegalovirus infection (CMV) and Epstein ��� Barr virus (EBV), myco-plasma and chlamydial infections, their probable participation in the formation of congenital malfor-mations according to the data of postmortem examination. The structure of congenital malformations (CM) was established on the basis of a study of autopsy protocols of 57 deceased patients with cystic fibrosis aged 1 month to 18 years, with confirmed persistent infection: herpes simplex virus, cytomeg-alovirus, pathogens of chlamydia and mycoplasmosis, Epstein ��� Barr virus. The detection of mainly pathogens of herpes viral infections (HVI) (88,3 %) in monoculture (83,9 %) with congenital malfor-mations showed a significant role of the infectious process in the multifactorial nature of teratogenesis in cystic fibrosis. Along with the characteristic for individual pathogens of systemic CMMs of the connective tissue, a significant number of multiple unclassified complexes (MMPs) have been identi-fied. According to the results of the work, the need to eliminate and prevent potential infectious tera-togens was confirmed during the clinical observation of families with children with cystic fibrosis.
