Women living with HIV-1 are at high risk of infection with human papillomavirus of high carcinogenic risk (HR HPVs). M. tuberculosis (TB) promotes HPV infection and increases the risk to develop HPV-associated cancer. Our knowledge of persisting HR HPVs genotypes, and of the factors promoting HR HPV infection in people living with HIV-1 with clinical TB manifestations is sparse. Here, we analyzed 58 women living with HIV-1 with clinical TB manifestations (WLWH with TB) followed up in specialized centers in Russia, a middle income country endemic for HIV-1 and TB, for the presence in cervical smears of DNA of twelve HR HPV genotypes. DNA encoding HPV16 E5, E6/E7 was sequenced. Sociodemographic data of patients was collected by questionnaire. All women were at C2-C3 stages of HIV-infection (by CDC). The majority were over 30 years old, had secondary education, were unemployed, had sexual partners, experienced 2-3 pregnancies and at least one abortion, and were smokers. The most prevalent was HPV16 detected in the cervical smears of 38% of study participants. Altogether 34.5% of study participants were positive for HR HPV types other than HPV16; however, but none of these types was seen in more than 7% of tested samples. Altogether, 20.7% of study participants were positive for several HR HPV types. Infections with HPVs other than HPV16 were common among WLWH with generalized TB receiving combined ART/TB-therapy, and associated with their ability to work, indirectly reflecting both their health and lifestyle. The overall prevalence of HR HPVs was associated with sexual activity of women reflected by the number of pregnancies, and of HPV 16, with young age; none was associated to CD4+-counts, route of HIV-infection, duration of life with HIV, forms of TB-infection, or duration of ART, characterizing the immune status. Thus, WLWH with TB-especially young-were predisposed to infection with HPV16, advancing it as a basis for a therapeutic HPV vaccine. Phylogenetic analysis of HPV16 E5, E6/E7 DNA revealed no common ancestry; sequences were similar to those of the European and American HPV16 strains, indicating that HPV vaccine for WLWH could be the same as HPV16 vaccines developed for the general population. Sociodemographic and health correlates of HR HPV prevalence in WLWH deserve further analysis to develop criteria/recommendations for prophylactic catch-up and therapeutic HPV vaccination of this highly susceptible and vulnerable population group.

Successions of Jurassic strata located in the Arctic region normally yield rich assemblages of terrestrially-derived and marine palynomorphs, reflecting relatively warm air and sea-surface temperatures. The land plant floras were prone to the development of local communities and regional provincialism, whereas the marine biotas thrived across extensive open marine areas with high productivity, resulting in the rapid evolution of dinoflagellate cysts (dinocysts) following their earliest fossil record in the Triassic. Dinocysts exhibit low taxonomic richness and provide low biostratigraphic resolution throughout the Lower Jurassic sections. By contrast, they are diverse in Middle and Upper Jurassic strata where they provide excellent biostratigraphic markers for correlating and dating both surface and subsurface sections. Over twenty formal and informal biozonations based on the first and last occurrences of dinocysts have been erected in Alaska, Arctic Canada, the Barents Sea region, Greenland and northern Russia, many of which are correlated with macrofossils, including ammonites, that occur in the same sections. This paper presents a compilation of 214 Jurassic palynostratigraphic events (118 first occurrences and 96 last occurrences) that have regional chronostratigraphic value in the Circum-Arctic, based on their published records. Each event is correlated with the base of a chronostratigraphical unit (including formal stages and sub-Boreal ammonite zones), or as an estimated percentage above the base of the chronostratigraphical unit relative to the entire unit. The relationships of each event to stages and key fossil zonal schemes is shown on chronostratigraphic plots using the 2020 version of TimeScale Creator [R]. Les successions de strates jurassiques dans la region de l'Arctique recelent normalement de riches assemblages de palynomorphes d'origine terrestre et marins refletant les temperatures relativement chaudes de l'air et a la surface de la mer. Les flores de plantes terrestres etaient susceptibles de favoriser l'epanouissement de communautes locales et d'un provincialisme regional, alors que les biotes marins se developpaient sur de vastes secteurs marins ouverts a un rythme de productivite eleve, ce qui a entraine revolution rapide de kystes de dinoflagelles (dinokystes) d'apres leur plus recenls enregistrements fossiles au cours du Trias. Les dinokysles affichent une faible richesse taxonomique et produisent une faible resolution biostratigraphique dans toutes les sections du Jurassique inferieur. Par contre, ils se diversifient dans les strates du Jurassique moyen et superieur, ou ils representent d'excellents reperes biostratigraphiques pour la correlation et la datation de sections de surface et de subsurface. Plus d'une vingtaine de biozonations officielles et officieuses basees sur les premieres et dernieres manifestations de dinokystes ont ete etablies en Alaska, dans l'Arctique canadien, dans la region de la mer de Barents, au Groenland et dans le nord de la Russie, lesquelles sont dans de nombreux cas correlees avec des macrofossiles, notamment des ammonites, presents dans les memes sections. DNA–protein crosslinks (DPC) are common DNA lesions induced by various external and endogenous agents. One of the sources of DPC is the apurinic/apyrimidinic site (AP site) and proteins interacting with it. Some proteins possessing AP lyase activity form covalent complexes with AP site‐containing DNA without borohydride reduction (suicidal crosslinks). We have shown earlier that tyrosyl‐DNA phosphodiesterase 1 (TDP1) but not AP endonuclease 1 (APE1) is able to remove intact OGG1 from protein–DNA adducts, whereas APE1 is able to prevent the formation of DPC by hydrolyzing the AP site. Here we demonstrate that TDP1 can remove intact PARP2 but not XRCC1 from covalent enzyme–DNA adducts with AP‐DNA formed in the absence of APE1. We also analyzed an impact of APE1 and TDP1 on the efficiency of DPC formation in APE1−/− or TDP1−/− cell extracts. Our data revealed that APE1 depletion leads to increased levels of PARP1–DNA crosslinks, whereas TDP1 deficiency has little effect on DPC formation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Lithium‐ion battery leakage indicates battery malfunction. In an electric vehicle, the evolving vapors can pose a risk to the health of the passengers. Early detection of a leakage reduces this risk and can prevent further damage. In this review, gas detection techniques such as detector tubes, portable gas chromatography, infrared spectroscopy, gas sensors, and laser spectroscopy are discussed in relation to their capacity of detecting airborne compounds coming from the evaporation of a leaked battery electrolyte. Possible scenarios in which battery leakage can occur are introduced that are partially based on the Global Technical Regulation on Electric Vehicle Safety: parked, driving, charging, postcrash (accident), rescue, and stationary application. The applicability for a potential early warning system using the discussed gas detection techniques is assessed and because no off‐the‐shelf solution could be found overlaps of the capabilities of the techniques with the needs of each scenario are identified and opportunities for further development are pointed out. Soy is a cultivated herb that is high in vitamins, minerals, and other elements that provide many health benefits. The main reason why this product is valued is complete proteins, which are almost as nutritious as animal proteins. The problem of this study is that the market for soy products represents a large assortment of products; however, products with no lactose are produced insufficiently and in limited quantities. In connection with the presence of certain problems in this industry, the purpose of the study was the technology of developing dry soy milk with the addition of coconut powder, which makes it possible to expand the range of products that meet the needs of the population. Therefore, a technological line for the production of powdered soy milk with additives is proposed, consisting of the main operations: preparation of raw materials for further processing, drying and peeling of soybeans, grinding, adding components, dosing powders, mixing, filling, and packaging the finished product. The obtained results show that during the storage of dry soy milk with the addition of coconut powder and a food additive, its flowability does not change.

The article describes its own methodology for determining indicators, based on the analysis of standard and specific indicators for the enterprises of fuel and energy complex. The article is devoted to the consideration of modern approaches to the definition of the concept “production and technological potential of organizations of the fuel and energy complex of the Russian Federation”. The article touches upon some topical issues of effective management of the use and development of the TEC enterprise production potential. The study uses several approaches: generalization, systematization, formalization, logical, formal methods, as well as comparative analysis methods to study modern approaches to the definition of the studied concept. The tasks considered in the article are theoretical. The economic content of the concept of production and technological potential of the fuel and energy complex and the production system is disclosed. The article presents current economic content of the concept of production and technological potential of energy companies based on a review of modern approaches to the definition of this concept, as well as indicators for the implementation of the production system.
