Abstract

Purpose: To analyze the relationships between the recovery kinetics experienced by professional football players and noncontact injury. Methods: A cohort of 46 professional football players (age 24.2 [4.7] y) from the same team (French Ligue 1) was monitored each day between matches when the team played twice a week. The recovery monitoring procedure was implemented after 38 matches and included some questionnaires: duration of sleep, Hooper scale (quality of sleep, level of stress, fatigue, and muscle soreness), perceived recovery status scale, creatine kinase concentrations, a countermovement jump, and an isometric force test. Noncontact injuries were collected during these periods. Results: Noncontact injuries were associated with perceived fatigue and muscle soreness 2 days (relative risk [RR] = 1.89 and 1.48, respectively) and 3 days following the matches (RR = 2.08 and 2.08, respectively). An increase of sleep quantity during the 2 nights following a match was significantly associated with a lower RR (RR = 0.65), as well as a lower decrement score on the isometric force test on each of the 3 days after the matches (RR = 0.97, RR = 0.99, and RR = 0.97, respectively). No other association was reported for the variables sleep quality, stress, perceived recovery, creatine kinase concentrations, countermovement jump, and noncontact injuries. Conclusion: During a congested schedule, implementing a recovery monitoring protocol including questionnaires about fatigue, muscle soreness, quantity of sleep, and a physical test of isometric force could help practitioners prevent injuries. Abstract

One of the goals of the iFishIENCi project is to bring to market the iFishIENCi Biology Online Steering System (iBOSS) that significantly improves production control and management for all fish aquaculture systems. Within iBOSS, smart functions can be implemented to take advantage of data from multiple sources to give better insight for the farmer, optimize production, better production planning, etc. The Report on final Smart feeding AI aims to implement one such smart function: iBOSS Smart Feeding. By using an AI approach, it is expected appropriate correlations between fish behaviour, feeding regime and water quality can be found, and used for controlling feeder and achieve optimal feeding operation. While a lot of data is available, it has not yet been explored how to concatenate this into one model for optimizing feeding efficiency. Thus, an approach to integrate multiple sources of feeding efficiency quantification in to one, is proposed.

Abstract

The main aim of the iFishIENCi project is to deliver breakthrough innovations for sustainable aquaculture, supported by enabling technologies, the implementation of smart feeding and smart breeding, and circular principles. All these aspects provide the European aquaculture industry with the competitive advantage and growth stimulation needed to be forefront in revolutionizing global efficiency in fish production and meet society's needs for food from the ocean. These ambitious tasks are achieved through the implementation of the iFishIENCi Biology Online Steering System (iBOSS), significantly improving production control and management for all fish aquaculture systems. iBOSS maximises feed utilisation through smart feeding, provides continuous monitoring of fish behaviour, health and welfare and reduces response times to aberrations. iFishIENCi also targets circular principles and zero waste by qualifying new and sustainable organic value chains for feeds, and valorisation of by-products. iFishIENCi´s innovations provide important new assets to fish-farmers, feed producers and technology providers in the aquaculture sector, thus leading to market growth and job creation. The present document describes the iFishIENCi project data management platform and procedures to collect and access the data, following the guidelines described in the iFishIENCi Data Management Plan (DMP).

Abstract

An ambition of the iFishIENCi project is to provide to the market a flexible iFishIENCi Biology Online Steering System (iBOSS) that significantly improves production control and management for all fish aquaculture systems. iBOSS intends to maximise feed utilisation through smart feeding, providing continuous monitoring of fish behaviour, health and welfare and reducing response times to aberrations. The iBOSS system is a central piece of the iFishIENCi project and also allows to connect information from the Fish-Talk-to-Me project innovation which integrates conventional and emerging technologies for enabling continuous control on fish behaviour, growth, physiology, welfare, health & environmental microbiome The present deliverable “D2.2 IoT open architecture and new elements specifications” is the first technical contribution of the project and ambitions to provide the baseline for following technical development in the project. It this includes: • A description of the foreseen innovations, in particular concerning sensing of water and fish related parameters (Fish-Talk-to-Me) (section 2) • A list of platform requirements extracted from the pilot sites description and building upon the market knowledge of the consortium partners (section 3) • A proposal of a plan for data modelling, allowing interoperable exchange of information among the different project components (human and IT) (section 4) • Finally, a concrete technical plan is proposed with a proposal for interfaces protocol (section 5) architecture analysis (section 6), as well as a plan for integration of the components building upon the planned experiments in the development sites (section 7).
