Abstract

The article titled "Knowledge in crisis. Ideologies in current education with examples from Sweden" by Inger Enkvist, published in the Educatio Siglo XXI magazine, analyzes the current state of education in the West, focusing on the case of Sweden. The author argues that current pedagogy questions the value of knowledge, which leads to the deterioration of democratic societies. Four elements that have been incorporated into education in Sweden and other Western countries are identified: egalitarianism, gender theory, sustainable development, and multiculturalism. The article also criticizes pedagogical constructivism and proposes the Montessori school as an alternative. Enkvist maintains that current education is used as a tool to achieve social change instead of preparing students for society. Abstract

El presente trabajo se ha realizado con la empresa HP Inc., y tiene como objetivo principal la creación de una nueva instancia de Jenkins, un servidor de automatización de código abierto ampliamente utilizado en entornos de desarrollo de software. Se ha utilizado la metodología de configuración como código para definir y gestionar la infraestructura y la configuración de Jenkins, lo cual permite tener un enfoque reproducible y escalable en la implementación y mantenimiento del servidor. Además, para garantizar la portabilidad y aislamiento de la instancia de Jenkins, se ha utilizado Docker, una plataforma de contenedores, para encapsular todo el entorno en un contenedor de aplicación. Esto permite una fácil replicación y despliegue del servidor Jenkins en diferentes entornos, facilitando así la escalabilidad y la migración. También se ha hecho uso de Ansible, una herramienta de automatización, para orquestar la creación y configuración del entorno de Jenkins. Se han creado diversos Playbooks de Ansible que han servido para instalar dependencias, configurar servidores y agentes. Dentro del servidor Jenkins se han implementado varias Pipelines utilizando el lenguaje de programación Groovy, que es el lenguaje nativo de Jenkins. Estas Pipelines han servido para automatizar tareas, se han conectado con Github y han permitido el testeo del código de otros desarrolladores. También se ha hecho uso de diferentes plugins que ofrece Jenkins para mejorar el uso de las Pipelines. En conclusión, a través de estas diferentes herramientas como Ansible, Docker y Jenkins, se ha logrado crear una instancia de Jenkins fácilmente escalable y replicable en un entorno seguro y eficiente debido a que ha sido todo configurado como código., This project has been done with the enterprise HP Inc., and the main objective of this work is to create a new instance of Jenkins, an open source automation server widely used in software development environments. The configure-as-code methodology has been used to define and manage the Jenkins infrastructure and configuration, allowing for a reproducible and scalable approach to server deployment and maintenance. Also, to ensure the portability and isolation of the Jenkins instance, Docker, a container platform, has been used to encapsulate the entire environment in an application container. This allows easy replication and use of the Jenkins server in different environments, thus facilitating scalability and migration. Ansible, an automation tool, has also been used to orchestrate the creation and configuration of the Jenkins environment. Several Ansible Playbooks have been created that have been used to install dependencies, configure servers and agents. Within the Jenkins server several Pipelines have been implemented using the Groovy programming language, which is the native language of Jenkins. These Pipelines have served to automate tasks, have been connected to Github and have allowed the testing of other developers' code. Different plugins offered by Jenkins have also been used to improve the use of Pipelines. In conclusion, through these different tools such as Ansible, Docker and Jenkins, it has been possible to create an easily scalable and replicable Jenkins instance in a safe and efficient environment because everything has been configured as code.

Abstract

The objective of the study was to determine if there is a significant correlation between soft skills and academic performance. For this reason, the research was carried out in higher education. The type of research is applied, with the level of research being descriptive and correlational. The research was transversal; since the survey was carried out only once using the questionnaire and notes technique. The sample is simple random, 52 students from the first and second cycles enrolled in the 2023-1 semester, who constitute the study. It was shown that the use of soft skills and academic performance in students predominates at the middle level, that is, represented by 61.54% (32). Therefore, it is necessary for teachers to apply soft skills in their classes. The average of respondents regarding the use of soft skills is favorable. It was determined that more than 50% of the respondents are older than 3,06128, that is, they have a favorable possession. On average, subjects have a rank of 3.5000 (favorable). Furthermore, the average deviation was 1.06128. The minimum score was 1 and the maximum was 5. Therefore, the Use of soft skills benefits the student. It is concluded that there is an adequate significant relationship between the use of soft skills and the academic performance of university students, due to a moderate correlation of 0.819., El estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar si existe correlación significativa entre Habilidades blandas y rendimiento académico. Por este motivo, se realizó la investigación en la educación superior. El tipo de investigación es aplicada, siendo el nivel de investigación descriptiva y correlacional. La investigación fue transversal; puesto que se realizó una sola vez la encuesta mediante la técnica del cuestionario y notas. La muestra es aleatoria simple 52 estudiantes del primer y segundo ciclos matriculados en el semestre 2023-1, que constituyen el estudio. Se demostró que uso de habilidades blandas y el rendimiento académico en los estudiantes predomina en el nivel medio, es decir, representado por el 61,54% (32). Por lo tanto, es necesario que los docentes apliquen en sus clases las habilidades blandas. El promedio de encuestados con respecto al uso de las habilidades blandas es favorable. Se determinó que más del 50% de los encuestados son mayores de 3, 06128, o sea, tienen una posesión favorable. En promedio los sujetos tienen un rango de 3,5000 (favorable). Además, la desviacion promedio fue 1, 06128. La puntuación mínima fue de 1 y el máximo de 5. Por lo tanto, el Uso de las habilidades blandas beneficia al estudiante. Se concluye que, sí existe una adecuada relación significativa entre el uso habilidades blandas y el rendimiento académico de los universitarios, debido a una correlación moderada de 0, 819.

Abstract

El proyecto de Aprendizaje-Servicio “Colabora A LA PAR” favorece el desarrollo de competencias sociales, entre otras, a través de la colaboración con la Fundación A LA PAR, siendo ésta el eje central de las actividades que en él se desarrollan. Está orientado a alumnos de los distintos Grados y Máster que se estudian en la ETSIAAB de la UPM, siendo de fácil implementación en otras titulaciones de ingeniería. A través de diversas actividades propuestas en diferentes asignaturas, (prácticas curriculares, trabajos fin de grado, actividades de diseño, debates, etc.), los alumnos toman conciencia del impacto que puede tener su profesión, orientada al diseño de instalaciones e infraestructuras, para las personas con discapacidad. El proyecto muestra el elevado compromiso del alumnado con este colectivo a través de su amplia participación en las actividades.

Abstract

The growth of computer systems in companies is a phenomenon that has taken place over the last decades. We find that the use of IT has become massively widespread in most industries. This, coupled with the rise of digitization and automation of business processes, has made companies increasingly dependent on technology to carry out their daily operations. An important aspect that we must consider is that computer systems have become increasingly sophisticated and complex, adding a higher level of difficulty to those in charge of managing and ensuring that everything works correctly. Monitoring systems are tools used to monitor the performance and availability of a company's computer systems and network. These systems collect and analyze data in real time to detect problems and alert system administrators to any potential failures or anomalies. Monitoring systems can also be used, among other things, to track bandwidth usage, server performance, and network traffic. Therefore, we can say that monitoring is an essential aspect to guarantee the availability and optimal performance of a company's computer systems. In this document the different alternatives offered by the market will be studied. The necessary requirements for the infrastructure of the company and what are the objectives to be achieved will be analyzed. 38. Thermal analysis of aged chars obtained by pyrolysis and hydrothermal carbonisation of manure wastes

Abstract

Biochar is being explored for the improvement of contaminated land as well as quality of soils in agricultural use. Most studies are conducted in the laboratory or involved only short-term field experiments. There remains considerable uncertainty about the long-term implications of biochar use, as a consequence of changes that arise during their ageing within soil. This work assessed the effects of chemical ageing (5% vol H2O2) on different properties of biochars and hydrochars prepared from two types of animal waste (rabbit and pig manure). Four biochars were prepared from pyrolysis of rabbit manure (pyrolysis temperature: 300 and 600 °C) and pig manure (300 and 450 °C) and two hydrochars from each manure by hydrothermal carbonisation at temperatures of 200 and 220 °C. The pristine and aged chars were compared according to the elemental composition and thermogravimetric analysis being also calculated the thermostability index and carbon stability in the ageing process. Results showed that chars prepared at lower temperatures were more sensitive to ageing. Only biochar obtained by pyrolysis at 600 °C showed a high level of resistance to ageing, reflecting the higher stability of the underlying carbon structure.

39. Sorption capacity of biochars obtained by gasification of rice husks and wild sugarcane: removal of malachite green and arsenic from water solutions

Abstract

The presence of contaminants in water has been of great concern worldwide, as it causes health risks to living organisms and general deterioration of the environment. Therefore, their elimination is essential. In the present study, rice husk (BRH) and wild sugarcane (BWS) biochars obtained by gasification were evaluated for their use as sorbents of malachite green dye (MG) and arsenite [As (III)] in aqueous solution. The chemical composition and physical structure of the two biochars were characterized by various techniques, including elemental analysis, N2 adsorption–desorption isotherms, FTIR, and Z potential. In addition, the adsorbate removal rate was determined using the pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order models. Batch sorption studies were carried out to remove arsenite and MG from aqueous solutions, considering the operating parameters such as initial solution pH, temperature, contact time, concentration, and temperature. The results showed that 120 min contact time is enough to reach sorption equilibrium. The percent removal of BRH and BWS to MG was 61.99% and 97.46%, respectively, while for arsenite, it was 82.79% and 82.36%, respectively. The kinetic analysis concluded that the sorption process predominantly followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic model for both case studies since the R 2 value is approximately one. The sorption capacity calculated based on this model fitted better with the sorption capacity experimental. Finally, it was demonstrated that BRH and BWS biochars obtained as a by-product of rice husk and wild sugarcane gasification could be used as low-cost sorbent materials to remove MG dye and arsenite from an aqueous solution.
