Abstract Aging is a complex process associated with multimorbidity. Hypertension, one of widespread states, is among main causes of age-related alterations in behavior, emotionality and sociability. We studied the effects of long-term isolated housing on anxiety, depressive-like and social behavior as well as changes in the adrenocortical and sympathetic systems in the aging normotensive Wistar Kyoto (WKY) and spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR). Ten-month-old male rats of both strains were subjected to 90-day isolated or group housing. Surprisingly, social isolation induced only mild effect on anxiety without influencing other affective-related behaviors. No effects of isolated housing on sociability or social novelty preferences were revealed. Despite the adrenal gland hypertrophy in the SHRs, corticosterone levels remained stable within the period of isolation but the expression of nuclear glucocorticoid receptor (Nr3c1) mRNA in the adrenals was lower in the SHR as compared to WKY rats. Pre-existing hypertension, associated with SHR genotype, did not significantly contribute to the effects of social isolation. The data suggest that the aged WKY and SHR rats are relatively resilient to chronic social stress associated with isolated housing.

Psychology ,BF1-990 - Abstract
This study examined the mechanisms of mental set (Einstellung effect) formation. Earlier it was shown that executive functions are a system-forming element in the structure of the formation mental set mechanisms. Executive functions (shifting, updating, inhibition) are considered as possible mechanisms for the formation of mental set. Additional load on executive functions should influence the formation of mental set. To model mental set, adapted Lachins’ problems of two types were used – arithmetic and verbal. Loading of executive functions was carried out within the framework of the secondary task paradigm. It was demonstrated that additional loading of executive functions of any type does not prevent the formation of mental set on the arithmetic material. At the same time, loading the shifting function negatively influenced the mental set formation on the verbal material. Thus, additional loading of executive functions can, on the one hand, lead to reduce of fixation, and on the other, lead to strengthening of fixation. A small load on executive functions leads to fixation, an increase in load leads to reduce of fixation, and overload leads to an increase in fixation. Thus, the overall level of loading on executive functions plays a key role in the formation of mental set, and the interaction between them can be described as a U-shaped curve.

The changeable, unknown, complex, and multivalent world embraced by innovations makes new demands on auditors’ professional competencies, which are inseparable from the mastery of technologies. Innovative auditing technologies of regional finance and real economy auditing have been analyzed to substantiate the value of auditors’ digital maturity in the diversity of such technologies. Quantitative methods based on statistical studies confirmed the growth of audit, control, expert analytical activities, and the need to implement innovative technologies for greater coverage of the control data set. Innovative technologies used in audit practice have been presented. The definition of digital maturity in an auditor has been given, which substantiates the need for continuous training in modern technologies such as digital inspector of state and municipal financial audit, conducting and accounting of general audit results, and processing of huge arrays of reporting data, analytical dashboards, and tools for checking counterparties using the analysis of their debts and risks. Digital maturity has been proposed to be assessed by considering digital culture, professional knowledge, skills and competencies of tool ownership, and process thinking in quality data collection implementation during the udit. The planning, execution, and automation of audit control activities with innovative technologies create the basis for prompt effective management of the entire process, company resources, and regional finances. Visualization of the reporting verification results provides for their visibility for users in order to immediately make management decisions aimed at sustainable financial development.

- Abstract
Flexible technology-rich learning spaces such as Future Classroom Labs (FCL) have a large potential for developing teacher education (TE) students' professional digital competence through engaging in authentic collaborative learning experiences with digital technology. However, there are limited reports on how students perceive and enact the affordances existing in such learning spaces. This paper reports on how one such FCL can facilitate collaborative learning among TE students. The paper poses two research questions: 1) How does the FCL as a learning space accommodate for collaborative learning? and 2) How do the artefacts promote or limit collaboration among students at the FCL? The data were collected through observations of four sessions of group work at the FCL, each having a different group of 15-16 first-year TE students. The results suggest that the FCL promoted collaborative work in terms of finding and building groups, monitoring, and resource-sharing across the small groups. However, students depended on external guidance from a teacher or student assistant to understand the technical sides of the artefacts, and their educational potential. Therefore, the implication is that in their first visits to FCLs, students need guidance to get started with the distinct tasks, and to master the various devices.

Quantitative Biology - Quantitative Methods - Abstract
In recent decades, the development of new drugs has become increasingly expensive and inefficient, and the molecular mechanisms of most pharmaceuticals remain poorly understood. In response, computational systems and network medicine tools have emerged to identify potential drug repurposing candidates. However, these tools often require complex installation and lack intuitive visual network mining capabilities. To tackle these challenges, we introduce Drugst. One, a platform that assists specialized computational medicine tools in becoming user-friendly, web-based utilities for drug repurposing. With just three lines of code, Drugst. One turns any systems biology software into an interactive web tool for modeling and analyzing complex protein-drug-disease networks. Demonstrating its broad adaptability, Drugst. One has been successfully integrated with 21 computational systems medicine tools. Available at https://drugst.one, Drugst. One has significant potential for streamlining the drug discovery process, allowing researchers to focus on essential aspects of pharmaceutical treatment research., Comment: 45 pages, 6 figures, 7 tables

RELEVANCE. The relevance of this study lies in the need to preserve their design cooling efficiency during the operation of cooling towers, as well as to prevent a decrease in the mechanical strength of sprinklers as a result of the formation of deposits that contribute to the deterioration of heat exchange conditions and strength characteristics of structural elements.OBJECT. Increasing the efficiency of heat transfer in the cooling processes of circulating water when using tower cooling towers at thermal power plants.METHODS. To achieve these goals, comprehensive studies of samples of circulating water and sediments formed on the sprinklers of tower cooling towers were carried out using classical methods of physico-chemical and elemental analyses, as well as sediment studies using X-ray diffraction analysis and electron microscopy.RESULTS. The relationship between the parameters of cooling water and the nature of sedimentsformed on the sprinklers, in particular the proportion of crystalline and non-organic ones, has been tracked. A method of highly effective pretreatment of source water with biodegradable biocidal reagents was considered in detail, since the existing disinfection method does not prevent the development of colonies of microorganisms on cooling tower sprinklers. The effectiveness of the use of the biodegradable THPS reagent, which is relatively safe for the environment in comparison with oxidizing biocides and classic bromine-based preparations, was studied in laboratory conditions. Laboratory studies were conducted in accordance with the interstate standard and included the determination of the total number of microorganisms and common colimorphic bacteria. Studies have shown that THPS treatment allows for the complete presence of microorganisms in cooling water samples. Biocidal treatment was carried out with reduced concentrations of the reagent (up to 30 mg/l) in a wide pH range (from 6.5 to 9.0 units). Experiments have shown high efficacy of the drug in a wide pH range even when it is dosed in small doses and a decrease in the effectiveness of this biocide when using increased concentrations of cationic flocculants used at the stage of pretreatment of river water.

Introduction. Despite improvements in immunosuppressive therapy procedures, immunological complications continue to be a major cause of kidney graft loss. The level of pre-existing and de novo synthesized anti-HLA antibodies (AB) has shown high significance in modern diagnosis of graft rejection and assessment of the efficacy of anti-crisis therapy. Objective: to analyze the frequency and specificity of pre-existing and de novo synthesized (including donor-specific), anti-HLA antibodies, to assess their impact on acute rejection crisis and kidney transplant (KT) outcomes in the early postoperative period.Materials and methods. We retrospectively analyzed the treatment outcomes of 637 patients, who received a deceased-donor kidney transplant at Sklifosovsky Research Institute of Emergency Care from 2020 to 2022. Pre-existing and de novo synthesized anti-HLA AB, including donor-specific antibodies (DSA), were determined and their impact on the incidence of acute rejection crisis (ARC) in the early postoperative period and on kidney graft function was assessed.Results. In non-sensitized patients, the ARC rate was 10.7% (n = 58), primary initial graft function was noted in 354 patients (65.6%), and satisfactory function at discharge was observed in 377 patients (70%). Pre-existing anti-HLA AB was detected in 97 recipients (15.2%); ARC developed in 14 recipients (14.4%) from this group, 51 (52.6%) patients had primary initial function, and 62 (63.9%) exhibited satisfactory function at discharge. De novo anti-HLA AB synthesis after transplantation was noted in 70 (11%) patients, ARC in 10 of them (16.7%), 38 (54.3%) had primary function, and 43 (61.4%) had satisfactory function at discharge. DSA synthesis was detected in 10 patients, ARC was diagnosed in 5 (50%) of them, primary initial function and satisfactory function at discharge were noted in 3 (30%) recipients.Conclusions. The presence of pre-existing and/or de novo anti-HLA AB synthesis after KT under rationally selected immunosuppressive therapy did not statistically significantly affect the early outcomes of graft function. However, DSA synthesis statistically significantly increased the incidence of acute rejection, kidney graft dysfunction and increased the time of recovery of nitrogen excretory function.

Background. Unexpected transmission of an infectious disease agent with a kidney graft to a recipient is a rare event but it is associated with significant morbidity and mortality, especially when exposed to multidrug-resistant bacteria that have not been eliminated by standard antibiotic prophylaxis.Objective. To demonstrate the need for immediate removal of a primary infected kidney graft in the event of local purulent complications due to the rapid development of sepsis in immunocompromised patients.Results. The paper describes a clinical course of the infectious process in two kidney recipients each of whom underwent transplantation of a primary infected graft from a single donor, taking into consideration the transplantectomy timing and the treatment outcomes.Conclusion. The Case Report shows the need for immediate transplantectomy in a kidney graft recipient when local purulent complications are detected with confirmed primary infection of the graft due to a high risk of the rapid development of sepsis and threat to life.

Introduction. Previously, it was shown that the “classic” phenotypes of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) are associated with significant decrease in gut microbiota alpha diversity as compared with healthy women. The aim of the study. To establish cut-off points for alpha diversity indices, significant in polycystic ovarian syndrome with hyperandrogenism.Material and methods. The manuscript presents a sub-study of Eastern Siberia PCOS Epidemiology and Phenotype Study, conducted in Eastern Siberia (Russia) from 2016 to 2019. All participants (175 women of reproductive age: 26 women with PCOS (according to Rotterdam criteria (2003)) and hyperandrogenemia (increased levels of total testosterone (TT) and/or free androgenindex(FAI), and/ordehydroepiandrosterone sulphate (DHEAS)), 149 – without hyperandrogenemia) were recruited during the annual employment medical assessment. Methods included a questionnaire survey, anthropometry and modified Ferriman – Gallwey score, gynecological examination, pelvic ultrasound, and blood serum tests for TT, DHEAS, sex hormone-binding globulin, FAI, prolactin, thyroid-stimulating hormone, and 17-hydroxyprogesterone. Five indices of alpha diversity (amplicon sequencing variant, Shannon index, Simpson index, Chao index, and abundance-based coverage Index) were estimated for the gut microbiota using amplicon metasequencing. Statistical analysis included ROC-analysis for development of cut-off points for the indices, associated with hyperandrogenism in women of reproductive age with PCOS. Results. According to results of ROC-analysis, the greatest sensitivity with moderate specificity, with a high area under the curve was established for the Shannon and Simpson indices with cut-off points classifying women with or without hyperandrogenemia – 5.84 and 0.97, respectively.Conclusions. The developed criteria for assessing alpha diversity using cut-off points for the most significant indices can be useful for monitoring the results of different therapeutic interventions (prebiotics, probiotics, etc.) in hyperandrogenic phenotypes of PCOS.

Background. Due to the rarity of the combination of emergence diabetes mellitus type 1 (DM1), COVID-19, and multisystem inflammatory syndrome, each reported case represents valuable experience and increases the awareness of medical professionals. Clinical case description. A 7-year-old boy was admitted to the intensive care unit with a diagnosis of diabetes mellitus type 1, first identified. On day 2, ketoacidotic coma with a hyperosmolar component developed, a positive polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test for SARS-CoV-2 was obtained, and a picture of subarachnoid hemorrhage was described according to CT scans of the brain. On day 3, macrohematuria, peripheral edema, pasty complexion were noted; the clinical picture and laboratory examination data corresponded to a “cytokine storm” with the development of multiple organ failure. On day 5, tonic-clonic seizures and bloody discharge from the nasopharynx were noted. On day 6, a negative PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 was obtained, on chest X-rays there was a heterogeneous decrease in pneumatization in the basal sections on both sides, and bilateral hydrothorax. On day 9, meningeal symptoms were noted. On day 14, a repeated episode of a convulsive attack was registered, and changes in the brain according to MRI results were regarded as an inflammatory demyelinating lesion against the background of the course of multisystem inflammatory syndrome and DM or as posterior reversible encephalopathy (PRES syndrome). Against the background of the appointment of immunomodulatory, anticoagulant, antibacterial, antiviral therapy, positive dynamics was noted in the child's condition. On day 18, the patient in a stable condition of moderate severity was transferred to the Department of Pediatric Endocrinology for further treatment. After 14 days, the child was discharged from the hospital in a satisfactory condition. Conclusion. This case report may confirm the risk of developing multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children with DM1 and COVID-19, which requires an interdisciplinary approach and the appointment of therapy included in the standards of management of children with multisystem inflammatory syndrome.

Hyperthermia plays a significant role in cancer treatment by inducing cell damage through temperature elevation, often used alongside other treatment modalities. During hyperthermia therapy, temperature control is crucial. Here, we report on a simple synthesis route of hybrid plasmonic nanodiamonds either completely wrapped with an Au shell (NV@Au) or densely covered with Au NPs (NV@SiO 2 @Au). Such integration of nanodiamonds with Au NPs is advantageous both for heating and precise thermometry at nanoscale. After structural and optical investigations, heating abilities of the obtained plasmonic nanodiamonds were thoroughly inspected on glass, in association with living cells, and in tissue slices ex vivo, revealing their effective heat generation under excitation with light using a single excitation source. The developed hybrid plasmonic nanodiamonds were finally applied for local photothermal therapy of melanoma in vivo, demonstrating their efficacy in eradicating cancer cells and monitoring temperature during the process.

Introduction. The current state of investment and construction activities at the corporate level is determined not only by the complexity of applied engineering solutions of capital construction facilities, but also by changes in a similar trend of external and internal environments of economic entities involved in the construction of a building or structure. Such complication is caused by the permanent increase of scientific and technological progress and the manifestation of economic phenomena corresponding to it, which affect the demands of consumers and regulatory rules of the state. As a result, there is an increase in contradictions between the conditions for the implementation of investment and construction activities and the organization of construction management, which is the reason for the emergence of new options for the implementation of business processes, their addition and integration with production and security processes, i.e. the emergence of new organizational schemes for construction management. One of these schemes can be used to manage construction on the basis of production and engineering centre. As noted in the paper, the main direction of increasing efficiency in this organizational structure is the transformation of management processes, i.e. their reengineering.Materials and methods. The research is based on the postulates of cybernetics, the logistics of regulatory influences, the organization of production systems, and structural and functional analysis. The scientific background of the authors was used, which was reflected in their publications on this problem. Additional sources were scientific works of domestic and foreign scientists in this subject area.Results. The structure and composition of the production and engineering centre are substantiated, the distribution of the main groups of functions is performed, the place of such an organizational structure in the corporate management system of investment and construction activities is determined, and the directions of business process reengineering are established.Conclusions. The formation of new, modern organizational structures is a promising direction of business process reengineering to increase the efficiency of construction, improve the quality of construction products, as well as the interaction of participants of investment and construction activities.

Abstract The azimuthal anisotropy of particles associated with jets (jet particles) at midrapidity is measured for the first time in p-Pb and Pb-Pb collisions at s NN $$ \sqrt{{\textrm{s}}_{\textrm{NN}}} $$ = 5.02 TeV down to transverse momentum (p T) of 0.5 GeV/c and 2 GeV/c, respectively, with ALICE. The results obtained in p-Pb collisions are based on a novel three-particle correlation technique. The azimuthal anisotropy coefficient v 2 in high-multiplicity p-Pb collisions is positive, with a significance reaching 6.8σ at low p T, and its magnitude is smaller than in semicentral Pb-Pb collisions. In contrast to the measurements in Pb-Pb collisions, the v 2 coefficient is also found independent of p T within uncertainties. Comparisons with the inclusive charged-particle v 2 and with AMPT calculations are discussed. The predictions suggest that parton interactions play an important role in generating a non-zero jet-particle v 2 in p-Pb collisions, even though they overestimate the reported measurement. These observations shed new insights on the understanding of the origin of the collective behaviour of jet particles in small systems such as p-Pb collisions, and provide significant stringent new constraints to models.

Abstract The ALICE experiment was proposed in 1993, to study strongly-interacting matter at extreme energy densities and temperatures. This proposal entailed a comprehensive investigation of nuclear collisions at the LHC. Its physics programme initially focused on the determination of the properties of the quark–gluon plasma (QGP), a deconfined state of quarks and gluons, created in such collisions. The ALICE physics programme has been extended to cover a broader ensemble of observables related to Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD), the theory of strong interactions. The experiment has studied Pb–Pb, Xe–Xe, p–Pb and pp collisions in the multi-TeV centre of mass energy range, during the Run 1–2 data-taking periods at the LHC (2009–2018). The aim of this review is to summarise the key ALICE physics results in this endeavor, and to discuss their implications on the current understanding of the macroscopic and microscopic properties of strongly-interacting matter at the highest temperatures reached in the laboratory. It will review the latest findings on the properties of the QGP created by heavy-ion collisions at LHC energies, and describe the surprising QGP-like effects in pp and p–Pb collisions. Measurements of few-body QCD interactions, and their impact in unraveling the structure of hadrons and hadronic interactions, will be discussed. ALICE results relevant for physics topics outside the realm of QCD will also be touched upon. Finally, prospects for future measurements with the ALICE detector in the context of its planned upgrades will also be briefly described.

Aim. To evaluate the impact of a decrease in glomerular filtration rate (GFR) on the prognosis of patients with chronic heart failure (CHF), to analyze real clinical practice regarding the frequency of prescribing pathogenetic therapy for CHF, achieving target dosages depending on the gradation of GFR in patients included in the CHF Register of the Tyumen region. Materials and methods. The analysis included medical data of 4077 patients (1662 men and 2415 women) with NYHA class I–IV CHF who underwent examination and treatment in medical organizations of the Tyumen region for the period from January 2020 to May 2023. Criteria for inclusion in the register: proven heart failure. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) was assessed by GFR calculated using the CKD-EPI formula (ml/min/1.73 m2). The primary end point was defined as death from all causes. Results. GFR60 ml/min/1.73 m2 was recorded in 34.6% of patients, more common in women (40.2 and 26.6%, respectively; p0.001). When dividing patients into phenotypes according to LVEF, no statistically significant differences were found in the distribution of patients according to GFR. In patients with HFrEF and HFpEF GFR45 ml/min/1.73 m2 was associated with an increased risk of meeting the endpoint. Analysis of prescribed pathogenetic therapy showed that in patients with HFrEF, the frequency of prescription of ACE inhibitors, â-blockers and MRA decreased (p=0.023, 006 and 0.01, respectively), and ARNI, on the contrary, increased with a decrease in GFR (p=0.026). In patients with HFpEF, a similar trend towards a decrease in the frequency of prescription of ACEIs and MCBs with a decrease in GFR (p0.001) remained, but it was compensated by an inversely proportional increase in the frequency of prescription of ARBs (p0.001). 100% of the target dosage is achieved in more than 90% of patients taking MRA across the entire LVEF range. While for â-blockers and ARNI/ACE/ARB the percentage of patients receiving the full therapeutic dosage of drugs is significantly lower. When analyzing target dosages of pathogenetic drugs, gradations of achieved doses were distributed evenly throughout the entire range of GFR. Conclusion. GFR60 ml/min/1.73 m2 occurs in every 3 patients with CHF across the entire range of LVEF. A decrease in GFR worsens the prognosis of patients with both HFrEF and HFpEF, increasing in direct proportion with the severity of the stage of CKD. Inclusion of patients in the monitoring program within the framework of the CHF service allows the treatment to be significantly brought closer to optimal drug therapy, at the same time, certain efforts are required to overcome difficulties with titration to target dosages.

Background. Chronic endometritis (CE) is an inflammatory hysteropathy causing miscarriage and infertility. High invasiveness of the main method of CE diagnosis and vague clinical picture necessitate the need for the development of less invasive approaches to establish the presence of this disease. The aim of the study. To establish a significant association of the concentration of pro- and anti-inflammatory interleukins in the blood serum with the presence of chronic endometritis in premenopausal women without concomitant endocrine diseases.Materials and methods. This re-analysis of the data is based on the results of a cross-sectional study conducted between May 2017 and December 2019 which included 198 premenopausal women. In all participants, body weight and height were measured with the calculation of the body mass index, the concentration of Creactive protein, pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines in the blood serum was determined, and a pipelle biopsy was performed to determine the CD138 expression in the endometrial stroma. Non-parametric methods, as well as ROC analysis, were used for statistical analysis.Results. 86 women were included in the re-analysis of the data, 37 of them had a confirmed diagnosis of chronic endometritis. Statistically significantly higher values of interleukin 1 (IL-1) concentration (p = 0.0028) and IL-1/tumor necrosis factor α ratio (p < 0.001) were determined in women with CE and normal body weight; threshold values of these parameters were ≥ 1.35 pg/ml (sensitivity 75 %, specificity 83 %; 95% confidence interval (95% CI): 0.88–2.15) and ≥ 1.03 (sensitivity 85 %, specificity 78 %; 95% CI: 0.81–1.27) respectively. Such a relationship was not revealed in women with overweight.Conclusions. The obtained results can be the basis for conducting a larger-scale study with determining the concentration of cytokines not only in the blood serum, but also in the endometrium of women with CE, which will allow the development of a minimally invasive method for determining the risk of the presence of chronic endometritis in premenopausal women.

The polycystic ovarian morphology (PCOM) is a generally accepted ultrasound marker for ovulatory dysfunction, is one of the criteria for polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and is established based on the assessment of ovarian volume (OV) and the follicle number per ovary (FNPO), taking into account the upper normal values determined in healthy premenopausal women. However, there is a necessity for regular revision of the PCOM characteristics depending on ethnic and age characteristics. The aim. To develop differentiated standards for assessing the ultrasonographic ovary structure in premenopausal women of various ethnicity.Materials and methods. From March 2016 to December 2019, a multicenter cross-sectional prospective study was conducted in Eastern Siberia (Irkutsk region) and in the neighboring Republic of Buryatia. The study included 1134 participants: 715 women of Caucasian origin, 312 Asian women, 107 women of mixed ethnic subpopulation.Results. It has been established that for Caucasians, it is advisable to diagnose PCOM when the ovarian volume is 9 cm3 and/or FNPO ≥ 12; for women of the Asian population – when the ovarian volume is 7 cm3 and/or FNPO ≥ 11; for women of mixed ethnicity – when the ovarian volume is 8 cm3 and/or FNPO ≥ 9. An important advantage of our study is that all participants were recruited from a non-selective multi-ethnic population of women with comparable socio-demographic characteristics living in the same geographical conditions.Conclusion. Differentiated approach for identifying the polycystic ovarian morphology in premenopausal women of different ethnic groups requires using ethnically differentiated normative readings

Sarcoidosis is a multisystem inflammatory disease of unknown etiology characterized by the formation of non-caseating granulomas, most commonly in the lung tissue. It presents with two main forms: acute and chronic. Patients with chronic sarcoidosis tend to have a less favorable prognosis with a risk of developing lung fibrosis. Sarcoidosis development involves the activation of T cells, which release various chemokines and cytokines that stimulate the inflammatory process. The aim of our study was to investigate the role of the ratio between Th17 and Treg cells in the chronic course of sarcoidosis. We studied peripheral blood plasma samples from patients with chronic sarcoidosis (CS) (n = 101) and healthy individuals (HC) (n = 40). The diagnosis in CS patients was confirmed by histological methods. We determined the levels of Th17 and Treg (% of total lymphocytes) by flow cytometry. The concentration of cytokines (pg/ml) IL-17A and IL-10 was measured by multiplex analysis using Luminex xMap. Correlations between the Th17/Treg ratio and clinical parameters, including serum angiotensin-converting enzyme (sACE) activity level in the peripheral blood, forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV1, %), fibrosis manifestations, and extrapulmonary manifestations were analyzed in CS patients. Our analysis revealed elevated levels of Th17 cells (p = 0.028) and decreased Treg levels (p = 0.026) in CS patients compared to healthy controls. This resulted in a significantly increased Th17/Treg ratio (p = 0.003) and IL-17A/IL-10 ratio (p < 0.001) in sarcoidosis patients. Furthermore, the Th17/Treg ratio positively correlated with sACE levels (p = 0.018), fibrosis manifestations (p = 0.019), and extrapulmonary manifestations (p = 0.016), and negatively correlated with FEV1% (p = 0.021). Our results indicate an increase in the Th17/Treg ratio, as well as the ratio of their main cytokines in patients with chronic sarcoidosis, which may emphasize their potential role as a diagnostic and prognostic biomarker of disease severity. At the molecular level, the balance between Treg and Th17 cells is maintained by the transcription factors Foxp3 and RORγt, which regulate the differentiation and function of these cells. Disruption of this balance in patients with chronic sarcoidosis may indicate a possible mechanism for disease progression.

Introduction. Post-coital cystitis is not a separate nosologic unit, but belongs to recurrent urinary tract infection. Surgical interventions are only recommended in cases where conservative treatment fails to provide relief.Objective. To evaluate the results of post-coital cystitis prophylaxis in urethral transposition.Materials & methods. A retrospective study of 46 patients who underwent surgical treatment in the volume of transposition of the distal urethra from 2011 to 2013 was conducted in the clinic of Urology of MSUMD based on the Spasokukotsky Moscow Clinical Hospital.Results. Based on subjective reports from patients, urethral transposition was found to be effective in 71.7% of cases. Half of the participants reported no recurrence of cystitis within the past year, and over half (67%) reported no inflammatory episodes after undergoing surgery.Conclusion. The findings suggest that urethral transposition is an effective and relatively safe treatment option for patients with post-coital cystitis who have failed to respond to conservative treatments.

- Abstract
This study investigates the suitability of the STEM Career Interest Survey (STEM-CIS) to measure secondary school students' aspirations towards STEM subjects and careers. A confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was conducted to assess the initial structural validity of the adapted STEM-CIS survey, where the science subscale was extended to four science disciplines, to align with the way science is taught in Finland and Russia. The results indicate that the interest in STEM subjects in general is not at a high level in any of the countries. There is a traditional gender gap regarding STEM subjects in every dimension, which favors females in biology and males in technology and engineering. STEM stereotypes among students--due to low exposure to STEM professions at school--can explain students' low interest despite high self-efficacies. Our study shows that we must increase informal learning opportunities inside and outside school and improve career counselling for students so that they will be more informed of STEM career opportunities.

The study of open charm meson production provides an efficient tool for the investigation of the properties of hot and dense matter formed in nucleus-nucleus collisions. The interpretation of the existing di-muon data from the CERN SPS suffers from a lack of knowledge on the mechanism and properties of the open charm particle production. Due to this, the heavy-ion programme of the \NASixtyOne experiment at the CERN SPS has been extended by precise measurements of charm hadrons with short lifetimes. A new Vertex Detector for measurements of the rare processes of open charm production in nucleus-nucleus collisions was designed to meet the challenges of track registration and high resolution in primary and secondary vertex reconstruction. A small-acceptance version of the vertex detector was installed in 2016 and tested with Pb+Pb collisions at 150\AGeVc. It was also operating during the physics data taking on Xe+La and Pb+Pb collisions at 150\AGeVc conducted in 2017 and 2018. This paper presents the detector design and construction, data calibration, event reconstruction, and analysis procedure., Comment: 13 pages, 21 figures, Fixed Acknowledgment
