2. Exploiting Nonlinearity between Parallel Channels of Multiple Cameras for Accurate ANN Reconstruction of Reflectance Spectra

- Abstract
Colour of an observed object is unambiguously described by its reflectance. Translation from a colour description in RGB space obtained with a digital camera into reflectance, independent of illuminant and camera's sensor characteristics, was performed through an artificial neural network (ANN). In the study, it was hypothesized that the ANN's performance of reflectance reconstruction could be improved by using extended learning datasets with two or three cameras RGB input sets instead of one, but only if the parallel channels of cameras used are not linearly dependent. Nonlinearity was assessed by a quantitative measure of nonlinearity (QMoN), the metric primarily developed for use in chemistry. A noticeable reflectance performance improvement has been found with two and three cameras, even though the cameras' parallel channels exerted only small degrees of nonlinearity. Close attention was paid to the impact of scattering of RGB readings around the ideal values on the reflectance reconstruction performance, and it has been found that the more pronounced scattering is inversely proportional to the performance of ANNs trained with a single-camera input learning set but shows no visible impact on the performance of ANNs trained with extended input learning sets.

Namen diplomske naloge je doseči prepoznavnost društva KDR VOČ s pomočjo ustrezne celostne grafične podobe (CGP). V prvem delu je predstavljen CGP s teoretičnega vidika: oblikovanje, identiteta in imidž, simbol, logotip, barve ter tipografija. V drugem delu je predstavljeno društvo za katero je bila izdelana celostna grafična podoba, želje in cilji. Podrobno je opisano nastajanje CGP od začetnih skic logotipa, izbor barv za simbol in podlago, tipografija. Pisno in slikovno so opisani izdelki: tiskovina, vizitka, dopisni list, kuverta ter letak. Predstavljeni so tudi promocijski izdelki s potiskom logotipa ter članska izkaznica društva KDR VOČ. Na koncu sledi razprava, v kateri so opisani tudi rezultati ankete. The purpose of the thesis is to achieve the recognition of Kdr Voč company, through the help of an appropriate corporate identity (CI). The first part presents the aspect of CI from the theoretical point of view: design, identity and image, symbol, logo, colors and typography. The second part presents the company for which a corporate identity was created, with aspirations and objectives. CI formation, from the initial sketches of the logo, a selection of colors for the symbol and background, and typography are described in detail. The following products are described descriptively and with pictures: stationery, business card, letterhead, envelope and leaflet. We also presented the promotional products with a logo print and a membership card of Kdr voč company. Finally, the discussion also describes the results of the survey.

4. Prenova spletnega mesta Vina Kraljica s pomočjo WordPress-a

Vsako podjetje si želi imeti dobro spletno mesto, ki kar najbolje predstavlja njih in njihove izdelke. Podjetje Vina Kraljica se je zato odločilo za prenovo svojega obstoječega spletnega mesta, kar je bil tudi glavni cilj te diplomske naloge. Prenova je bila izvedena s pomočjo odprtokodnega sistema WordPress in predloge Massive Dynamic. V postopku izdelave so bili uporabljeni vtičniki, funkcijski in grafični elementi ter programska jezika HTML in CSS. Cilj diplomske naloge je bila izdelava funkcionalnega in privlačnega spletnega mesta s spletno trgovino, poleg tega pa je bila narejena analiza prilagodljivosti spletnega mesta na različnih napravah in spletnih brskalnikih. Opravljena je bila primerjava dela v WordPressu in Massive Dynamicu ter primerjava spletnega mesta s konkurenčnimi podjetji. S pomočjo spletne ankete smo analizirali uporabniško izkušnjo obstoječega in prenovljenega spletnega mesta. Analiza je pokazala, da ima prenovljeno spletno mesto v primerjavi z obstoječim boljšo uporabniško izkušnjo. Podani so bili še dodatni predlogi, ki lahko pripomorejo k še boljši optimizaciji spletnega mesta in končni uporabniški izkušnji. Every company wants to have a good website that represents them and their products. Therefore, the company Vina Kraljica decided to redesign their existing website, which was also the main purpose of this diploma thesis. The redesign was done by using an open source system WordPress and theme Massive Dynamic. Plug-ins, functional and graphic elements, HTML and CSS programming languages were used in the redesign process. The goal of this diploma thesis was to create a functional and attractive website with an online store and also to analyze the site's responsiveness on various devices and web browsers. A comparison of work in WordPress and Massive Dynamics, as well as comparison of the site with competing companies, was done. User experience of an existing and new site was analyzed using a web survey. The analysis has shown that the new site has better user experience than the existing one. Additional suggestions were given that can contribute to even better website optimization and ultimate user experience.

Z velikim napredkom tehnologije v preteklem desetletju ter z nenehnim razvojem interneta smo stopili v obdobje, kjer postati digitalen ni več stvar izbire, temveč nuja. Pri sledenju trendov razvoja se vse več trgovin seli na nov naslov - spletni naslov. V prisotnosti megalomanskih, že dolgo prisotnih dobro razvitih spletnih trgovin se mali podjetnik težko uveljavi s spletnim trženjem. Na poti do uspeha je bistveno pritegniti in obdržati kupca z moderno oblikovano stranjo, ki se bo oglaševala na družbenih omrežjih in katere uspeh je ob dobri optimizaciji zagotovljen. Tehnologije in trendi se spreminjajo, zato moramo biti vedno v koraku s časom. Pomembno je, da odločitve ne sprejemamo le na teoretičnih osnovah, temveč je potrebno, s pomočjo različnih orodij za spremljanje in testiranje, spremljati želje in potrebe potrošnikov ter uporabiti tisto, kar je za specifično poslovanje najboljše. Cilj diplomskega dela je oblikovati spletno trgovino za poslovanje mikropodjetja "S-Hand Art" v skladu z željami naše stranke, lastnice podjetja, ob upoštevanju pravil dizajna in optimizacije, s ciljem da se majhnemu podjetju omogoči uveljaviti v družbi "gigantov". Razen trženja je drugotni cilj tudi promocija podjetja izven državnih meja. "S-Hand Art" se ukvarja z izdelavo ročnih del iz keramike, nakita ter s poslikavo svile. Podjetje je bilo ustanovljeno leta 2007. Lastnica je zaradi slabe prodaje ter slabega dostopa do potencialnih kupcev ter predstavitve izdelkov na svetovnem tržišču sklenila, da je za nadaljnje poslovanje najboljša rešitev spletna trgovina. With the evolution of technology in the past decade and with the continuous development of the Internet, we have stepped into a period where becoming digital is no more a matter of choice but a matter of need. Following the trend, more and more stores are moving to a new address - a web address. In the presence of megalomaniacal, long-standing and highly developed online stores, it is difficult for a small entrepreneur to break through and start selling from nothing. Therefore, on the road to success, it is essential to attract and retain the customer with the contemporarily designed website and good advertising on social media. Also, with a good optimization, the success is guaranteed. Over time, technology and trends are changing, so we always need to be in step with the time. It is important that we take decisions not only on theoretical grounds but also with the help of various monitoring and testing tools, to observe the wishes and needs of consumers and to use what is best for a specific business. The aim of the diploma thesis is to create an online store for the business of micro-enterprise "S-Hand Art" in accordance with the wishes of our client - the owner, but taking into account the rules of design and optimization with the goal of enabling a small company to succeed in the company of "giants". Apart from sales, the secondary goal is the promotion "S-Hand Art" is engaged in the production of handmade ceramics, jewelry, and silk painting. The company was founded in 2007. Due to poor sales and poor access to the potential customers and presentation of products worldwide, the owner concluded that the online store is the best solution for the future of the company.

6. Postopek integracije 3D modela v navidezno resničnost

Cilj diplomske naloge je oblikovanje navideznega okolja s kombinacijo dveh programov – Blenderja, v katerem smo izdelali 3D modele, in Unity, v katerem smo ustvarili navidezno okolje in vanj integrirali 3D modele. Končni rezultat si lahko ogledamo preko VR-očal Google Cardboard. Diplomska naloga je razdeljena na dva dela: teoretični in praktični del. V prvem, teoretičnem delu je podana razlaga, kako strokovnjaki, industrija itd. razumejo navidezno resničnost (angl. virtual reality oz. VR) in kako jo opredeljujejo. Podana je časovnica z dogodki in izumi, ki so pomembno vplivali na razvoj obstoječih VR-tehnologij. Analizirali smo tudi prednosti in slabosti navidezne resničnosti s pomočjo primerov uporabe tovrstnih tehnologij. Drugi, praktični del podaja ključne korake, ki jih moramo upoštevati pri izdelavi VR-okolja v programu Unity, in primere našega pristopa k izdelavi navideznega okolja. Nato smo opisali postopek integracije v Blenderju modeliranega 3D modela v VR-okolje in na kaj moramo biti pozorni pri prenosu elementov med uporabljenima programoma. Na kratko smo opisali tudi programa Unity in Blender ter VR-očala Google CardBoard. Na koncu sta opisana postopka izdelave mobilne aplikacije za operacijski sistem Android ter povezave mobilnega telefona in programa Unity. Oba načina nam omogočata ogled navideznega sveta preko VR-očal Google Cardboard. Očala Google Cardboard so nam omogočila ogled našega navideznega okolja ter sprehod po okolici in notranjosti našega 3D modela. Naš cilj je bil doseči občutek potopitve v okolje. Pri ustvarjanju VR-okolja je za dosego potopitve zelo pomembno gibanje. Če ga ni, postane okolje hitro dolgočasno in nezanimivo. V naše navidezno okolje smo dodali osnovno gibanje (pogled spreminjamo s premikanjem računalniške miške), lahko pa bi tudi kompleksnejše gibanje (pogled spreminjamo s spreminjanjem položaja telesa). The main purpose of this diploma thesis is to create a virtual environment with a combination of two programs: Blender, where we created the 3D models, and Unity, where we created a virtual environment and integrated the 3D models. The created end-result can be observed with the Google Cardboard VR glasses. The diploma work is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the first part, we define virtual reality (VR), discuss its beginnings and important events which significantly influenced its development. In addition, we described the advantages and disadvantages as well as some examples of where VR is used. In the practical part, we describe the key steps for building a VR environment on the Unity platform and the integration process of 3D models which were previously made in the program Blender. We describe where in the process we need to pay special attention. Finally, Unity, Blender and Google CardBoard VR glasses are briefly discussed. Lastly, we described the process of creating a mobile application for Android mobile phones and the process in which we connect a mobile phone to the program Unity. Both methods allow us to see the virtual world through Google Cardboard VR glasses. Google Cardboard makes it possible to watch the constructed VR environment - to walk outside and inside of our 3D models. The goal of this VR environment is to archive the user’s feeling of immersion. For immersion, it is very important to include movement, because without it the environment quickly becomes boring and uninteresting. We added some basic movement to our virtual environments (the view is changed by moving the computer mouse), but we could add more complex movement (the view changes with changing the position of the body).

Vpeljevanje že obstoječih in nastajanje novih podjetij, vključevanje na trg in obstanek na njem je v poslovnem svetu dandanes stalnica. V boju za preživetje in obstanek podjetja nista pomembna samo kakovostna storitev ali izdelek, temveč tudi dobra prepoznavnost. Če želimo biti uspešni, moramo opraviti analizo posameznih delov celostne grafične podobe. Dobro oblikovane, celo svetovno prepoznane celostne grafične podobe so nastale s pomočjo analiz, preučevanja in znanja na omenjenem področju. Njihova naloga je podati določeno vizijo in poslanstvo organizacije, saj lahko v nasprotnem primeru podjetju tudi škodi. Raziskava temelji na teoriji o celostni grafični podobi. Preučuje oblikovalsko zasnovo celostne grafične podobe in tudi samo organizacijsko komunikacijo. V teoretičnem delu diplomske naloge smo predstavili in opisali posamezne elemente, ki skupaj sestavljajo in povezujejo celostno grafično podobo, tj. referenčni trikotnik, logotip, barve in tipografijo. V raziskovalnem delu smo prikazali izdelavo logotipa in tudi celostne grafične podobe za že obstoječega samostojnega podjetnika. Sámo delo je poleg oblikovanja logotipa vključevalo oblikovanje osnovnih komunikacijskih izdelkov, in sicer vizitko, ovojnico, štampiljko in nalepko, ki jo lahko uvrstimo tudi med reklamni material. Izdelano podobo podjetja smo umestili tudi na nekatere promocijske materiale. The implementation of already existing, the creation of new companies, being able to integrate as well as to stay on a market is a constant in today’s business world. Good quality service and products are not enough to keep your company fighting to survive and to exist, a good recognizability is also required. To be successful, it is necessary to analyze individual parts of visual identity design. Good designed and even world known visual identities were developed through analysis, studies and knowledge of mentioned area. Their job is to send a certain vision and mission of the organization, otherwise it can be damaging to the company. The research is based on a theory of visual identity design. It examines the design concept of company’s visual identity, as well as their organization of the communication. In theoretical part of diploma work we presented and described individual elements that together combine and represent visual identity design i.e. triangle reference, logo, colors and typography. In research part, we have demonstrated the developing of logo and visual identity for already existing independent entrepreneur. The work, apart from logo designing, included designing of basic communication products such as a business card, an envelope, a stamp and a sticker that can be classified as an advertising material. The created visual identity of a company was placed on some of the promotional materials.
