Municipal waste has become a pressing concern, driven by the increasing volume of waste generation and its adverse impact on communities. Effectively managing municipal waste is a joint responsibility shared between public authorities and the general population. Romania is obliged to adhere to its commitments to the European Commission by implementing economic tools to enhance municipal waste management. One such instrument is the Integrated Waste Management System (IWMS), which encompasses all facets of waste management, encompassing collection, transportation, treatment, and disposal. This research endeavors to evaluate the density and composition of selectively collected waste in three cities in Romania and to gauge the public's awareness and competence in correctly segregating waste within integrated and non-integrated waste collection systems. The primary objectives of this study are to assess the public's knowledge of selective waste collection, the accuracy of waste segregation, and the disparities between these management systems. This paper presents studies and researches for the realization of a device based on the properties of the electric field and of the variation of capacity, based on the capacitive effect and on techniques of separation of sources, applied on the equipment in the food industry, in order to ensure the safety of people when using the machines. Its main purpose is to detect and locate an operator or object in a protected area. This can be implemented using a mechanical articulated system (robot, press) that estimates the distance between the sensors fixed on such a system and a mobile target. The sensors are made of paint with conductive properties, so they are of reduced size and weight. This sensor has great potential to detect and estimate distant targets. To identify a target: human being or object; and to locate it around a robot, its geometry and physical phenomena related to the target-sensor coupling are essential, as well as the implementation of the sensors. The fruit-growing sector in Romania has been deeply affected by the transition period and suffered a constant decline, while also the technological equipment related to it has been affected by the passage of time and the lack of investments. After the EU accession a series of investments started to be done. One of the latest one is the submeasure 4.1 dedicated to the fruit growing sector. The paper analyses the 2014 -- 2020 investments done through this sub-measure in the North-West region in order to see how the situation has improved and what are the expected changes in the future.
