Prior evidence shows that investors pay less attention to corporate information released on Friday than to similar information released on other days of the week. This behaviour is consistent with the inattention hypothesis and conflicts with the notion of market efficiency. However, this differential market reaction to announcements on Friday may be potentially misspecified due to selection bias. We explore this issue for a sample of 192 cash-financed acquisition announcements of unlisted target firms made by listed Spanish firms from 1998 to 2018. We investigate bidder's short- and long-term performance in periods of high and low valuation market in response to announcements of acquisitions carried out by Spanish listed firms over the period 1991-2016. We find that acquirers of unlisted targets fully react at the announcement date in high valuation periods, meanwhile the underreaction of listed target bidders at the moment of the announcement in low valuation markets is the result of return continuations. In addition, we find that the market reaction do not depend on recent merger history. Therefore, we provide evidence that bidder reaction to acquisitions is not consistent with the predictions of market sentiment (optimism) after controlling for the listing status of the target firm, not supporting, for a thinner market as the Spanish one, the evidence observed in US and UK markets. A number of drugs have been reported to cause neuromuscular blockade and/or to increase weakness in myasthenia gravis. We report on two patients, treated with felodipine and nifedipine for arterial hypertension, who presented with an exacerbation of their myasthenia gravis and a myasthenic syndrome or exacerbation of myasthenia gravis, respectively. The mechanism of action of calcium antagonist drugs at the neuromuscular junction is not yet well established, but it could be located at both presynaptic and postsynaptic levels.
