Abstract In this paper, we study the relation of the M2-brane with fluxes and monodromy in SL(2, ℤ), which has a quantum discrete supersymmetric spectrum with finite multiplicity and type IIB gauged supergravities in nine dimensions. SL(2, ℤ) is the group of isotopy classes of the area-preserving diffeomorphisms. The global description of these M2-branes we are considering is formulated on twisted torus bundles, and they are classified in terms of H 2(Σ, ℤ ρ ), or equivalently, by their coinvariants for a given monodromy subgroup. We find the ‘gauge’ symmetries between equivalent M2-branes on torus bundles with monodromy that lead to ℝ, SO(2), or SO(1, 1), the symmetry groups of type IIB gauged supergravities in 9d. We obtain an explicit relation between the equivalent classes of M2-brane bundles and the mass parameters that classify the gaugings of type IIB supergravities in 9d. We also find that the symmetries between inequivalent M2-branes on twisted torus bundles for a given monodromy are related to ℤ, ℤ 3, ℤ 5, ℤ 9, or ℤ 2n − 7 for n ≥ 5, the U-duality symmetry group, a subgroup of SL(2, ℤ). In distinction, in the case without monodromy, related to type II maximal supergravity at low energies, its U-duality group corresponds to the full SL(2, ℤ).

Flamenco is widely practiced around the world, both in its musical and dance forms. It has been taught and studied through formal, non-formal, and informal teaching processes. Traditionally, it is taught through imitation and repetition and learned by ear. Zapateado is the percussive element of the dance. This study aimed to investigate whether a change in teaching strategy and resources could improve motivation and rhythmic precision when performing zapateado. The research used a quasi-experimental approach. Twelve professional flamenco dancers participated. The most significant results show that a change in methodology can encourage motivation and improve the rhythmic precision of zapateado.

Audit oversight plays a crucial role in ensuring audit quality. Despite recent progress in strengthening public audit oversight systems in Europe, in this paper we address the issues where little harmonisation has been achieved. Based on the content of the European Directives, we show how significant differences still exist and affect the EU system of public audit oversight. We examine the supervisory and disciplinary functions, organisational structure, funding and transparency mechanisms of the main public oversight bodies in the EU, Australia, the UK and the EEUU. The analysis suggests that despite the common framework set out in EU directives and regulations, the current system of public oversight in Europe is still far from achieving a reasonable degree of harmonisation, which hampers the effectiveness of audit oversight bodies. We contribute by providing an institutional framework that allows to identify the impact of the most adopted features on the independence and competence of each oversight body.

Este trabajo identificó posibles relaciones entre el conocimiento didáctico del contenido (CDC), prácticas pedagógicas y emociones (estrés y Burnout), mediatizados a través de la profesionalización docente. La metodología fue cualitativa; en grupos focales, con un conjunto de docentes de una institución educativa pública en Colombia. Se usaron encuestas, entrevistas, observación participante y el cuestionario (CBP-R) que mide el estrés-Burnout. De igual manera, se construyó una matriz de referencia derivada de las bases del conocimiento profesional del profesorado (BCPP) y las dimensiones técnica, práctica y crítica desde la hipótesis de la complejidad, estableciéndose un sistema de códigos. Como resultado, se encontraron síntomas de agotamiento emocional o burnout en algunos docentes, evidenciados por los instrumentos y validados desde la observación participante. Igualmente se reveló poco desarrollo en la profesionalización docente, dado que sus prácticas pedagógicas se percibieron orientadas a una visión tradicional, y se correspondieron con la dimensión técnica (no deseable) según la hipótesis de la complejidad, lo que afecta negativamente el CDC; sin embargo, los profesores piensan que su ejercicio profesional transita por las dimensiones deseables; considerándose aquí que el estrés – Burnout actúa como filtro que altera la percepción de los docentes de su CDC.

In recent years, new technologies have made it possible to reproduce cultural content through new social media tools, thus ensuring the development of cultural heritage on a global scale, but museums have not always seen the introduction of these media in their strategies in a positive way. This article focuses on the analysis of public engagement with the collections of the five most reputable museums in Europe through the visual social media platform, Instagram. The study explores public engagement through a mixed-methods approach, with data mining using the Fan Page Karma monitoring tool. The findings show the value of active listening and interaction with user-generated content as a key component of reputation and image, reflecting the importance of two-way communication. The research may also be useful in the future to help improve strategies in the digital ecosystems of museum institutions.

Introduction: Diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) is the most common malignant brainstem tumour in children. Despite advances in understanding its biology, current treatments have shown minimal impact on overall survival in this fatal disease. Focal radiotherapy (RT) is the only treatment proven to improve symptoms and extend progression-free survival. Albeit palliative, re-irradiation (rRT) has emerged as the best alternative for progressive disease. This study presents the Spanish experience with re-irradiation in DIPG. Results: Between April 2015 and December 2023, 44 paediatric patients with progressive DIPG underwent rRT in 16 Spanish institutions. Median time from diagnosis to progression was 9.9 months (range, 4.2–24.3 months). Median dose of rRT was 20 Gy (range, 18–40 Gy) in 2 Gy fractions (range, 1.3–4 Gy). Twenty-two patients (50 %) received other treatments besides RT. Clinical improvement was seen in 77.3 %, and radiological improvement in 60 %. Treatment was well tolerated (1 case toxicity >grade 2 related to rRT). Median overall survival was 15.5 months (range, 8.2–63.2 months), with a median time from rRT to death of 4.2 months (range, 0.6–10.3 months). Longer time between diagnosis and rRT (>10 months) and dose of rRT >20 Gy were statistically significantly correlated with better overall survival. There was no survival benefit in patients receiving additional treatments. Conclusions: Re-irradiation is safe and effective in progressive DIPG patients, not only improving symptoms but also prolonging survival. However, the ideal candidates for rRT remain undefined, as well as the best irradiation scheme. Prospective studies are needed.

Este estudio examina cómo cambian las emociones de futuros maestros hacia los contenidos científicos (seres vivos y ecosistemas) al participar en una intervención indagatoria en la construcción de hoteles en un Parque Natural de España. La muestra incluyó alumnos del Grado de Maestro en Educación Primaria de la Universidad de Huelva matriculados en una asignatura de didáctica de las ciencias. Se utilizó un cuestionario tipo Likert para medir la intensidad de catorce emociones en tres momentos: antes, durante y después de la intervención. También se realizaron entrevistas, observaciones y narrativas para identificar las causas del cambio. Los resultados indicaron un aumento significativo en emociones positivas, especialmente la satisfacción, y una disminución en emociones negativas, como el aburrimiento. Este cambio se atribuye a la naturaleza biológica de los temas y su integración en el Conocimiento Didáctico del Contenido. Se recomienda incorporar la educación emocional en la formación inicial de maestros para promover la autorregulación y el aprendizaje emocional.

A Guerra Civil de Espanha é considerada o primeiro conflito moderno a ser fotografado, dia após dia, por fotógrafos espanhóis e estrangeiros. Esses instantâneos tirados entre 1936 e 1939 são hoje suportes de memória para recuperar a história do conflito espanhol. No entanto, no seu contexto, tornaram-se mais uma ferramenta para ganhar a guerra no domínio da propaganda. O objetivo deste artigo é refletir sobre o papel desempenhado por um jornal português, O Comércio de Porto, na cobertura da guerra. O jornal fez uma extraordinária cobertura fotográfica dos acontecimentos em Espanha. E fê-lo como porta-voz oficial de Franco em Portugal. Começaremos por traçar o perfil das 1099 fotografias publicadas entre julho de 1936 e abril de 1939 e depois analisaremos a forma como essas imagens foram utilizadas para manter o moral dos Aliados, criticar o inimigo e convencer os estrangeiros da necessidade de colaborar com a causa política comum.

El dibujo arquitectónico, la traza, no está ahí desde siempre; sino que irrumpe en un momento histórico concreto y por medio de la incorporación de un dispositivo sociotécnico particular. Mi argumento es que la traza se caracteriza por ser un mecanismo de intermediación capaz de regular y producir efectos controlados a distancia (tanto en términos temporales como espaciales). Este hecho permite comprender no solo los profundos cambios que el campo de la construcción sufrió en los siglos XV y XVI, sino también aquellas transformaciones vinculadas con la emergencia de las prácticas de gubernamentalidad modernas.

El concepto de «escándalo» jugó un papel crucial en la administración de justicia y en el mantenimiento del orden social. El escándalo, entendido más allá del mero desorden público, incluía cualquier acto que desestabilizara la armonía social, atentara contra la moral colectiva o las creencias religiosas. Los delitos sexuales, por ejemplo, no solo se perseguían por el daño individual causado, sino también por su impacto en la sociedad, convirtiéndolos en un asunto de interés público. Este enfoque refleja cómo el escándalo no era meramente una cuestión de conducta personal, sino una preocupación de orden público, afectando la percepción social de la autoridad y la estabilidad social.
