A atencao pre-natal e puerperal qualificada e humanizada da-se por meio da integracao de condutas acolhedoras, informacoes e orientacoes adequadas. O pre-natal de risco habitual pode ser realizado pelo enfermeiro amparado na Lei do Exercicio Profissional da Enfermagem e tem como finalidade a prevencao de complicacoes para a saude materno-fetal. Relatar o acompanhamento das primeiras consultas pre-natais realizadas por enfermeiros em uma UBS de Sao Paulo. Relato de experiencia numa UBS durante agosto a outubro de 2017, periodo em que Conselho Federal de Medicina entrou com uma liminar impedindo aos enfermeiros a realizacao da consulta pre-natal. Das gestantes acompanhadas, 90% sairam da consulta com prescricao de medicacoes profilaticas, 100% sairam com pedido de exames prescritos pelas enfermeiras e recomendariam o pre-natal realizado naquela unidade de saude, em funcao da qualidade e de profissionais humanizadas. As enfermeiras continuaram exercendo suas atribuicoes com a mesma responsabilidade e qualidade apos a suspensao da liminar em outubro de 2017, em vigor ate o julgamento final do merito do processo. The prenatal consultation of nurses in the midst of the controversy of the Federal Council of Medicine: an experience report Abstract : The qualified and humanized prenatal and puerperal care occurs through the integration of welcoming conducts, information and appropriate orientations. The prenatal of habitual risk can be performed by the nurse supported by the Law of Professional Practice of Nursing and aims to prevent complications for maternal-fetal health. To report the follow-up of the first prenatal consultations performed by nurses at a UBS in Sao Paulo. Report of experience in a UBS during august to october 2017, period in which the Federal Council of Medicine entered with an inlimination preventing nurses to perform the prenatal consultation. Of The pregnant women followed up, 90% left the consultation with prescription of prophylactic medications, 100% came out with a request for examinations prescribed by the nurses and would recommend the prenatal care performed at that health unit, due to the quality and humanized professionals. The nurses continued to exercise their attributions with the same responsibility and quality after the suspension of the inlimination in october 2017, in force until the final judgment of the merit of the process. La consulta prenatal de enfermeras en medio de la controversia del Consejo Federal de Medicina: un informe de experiencia Resumen : La atencion prenatal y puerperal calificada y humanizada se realiza a traves de la integracion de conductas de bienvenida, informacion y orientaciones apropiadas. El cuidado prenatal de riesgo habitual puede ser realizado por la enfermera apoyada por la ley de practica profesional de enfermeria y tiene como objetivo prevenir las complicaciones para la salud materno-fetal. Informar del seguimiento de las primeras consultas prenatales realizadas por enfermeras en un UBS en Sao Paulo. Informe de la experiencia en un UBS durante el mes de agosto al 2017 de octubre, periodo en el que el Consejo Federal de Medicina entro con un mandato que impedia a las enfermeras de realizar la consulta prenatal. De las mujeres embarazadas siguieron, 90% dejo la consulta con prescripcion de medicamentos profilacticos, 100% salio con una solicitud de examenes prescritos por las enfermeras y recomendaria el cuidado prenatal realizado en esa unidad de salud, debido a la calidad y profesionales humanizados. Las enfermeras continuaron ejerciendo sus atribuciones con la misma responsabilidad y calidad despues de la suspension del mandato en octubre de 2017, en vigor hasta el juicio final del merito del proceso. OBJECTIVES: We designed a cohort study to describe characteristics and outcomes of patients with coronavirus disease (COVID-19) admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) in the largest public hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil, as Latin America becomes the epicenter of the pandemic. METHODS: This is the protocol for a study being conducted at an academic hospital in Brazil with 300 adult ICU beds dedicated to COVID-19 patients. We will include adult patients admitted to the ICU with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 during the study period. The main outcome is ICU survival at 28 days. Data will be collected prospectively and retrospectively by trained investigators from the hospital’s electronic medical records, using an electronic data capture tool. We will collect data on demographics, comorbidities, severity of disease, and laboratorial test results at admission. Information on the need for advanced life support and ventilator parameters will be collected during ICU stay. Patients will be followed up for 28 days in the ICU and 60 days in the hospital. We will plot Kaplan-Meier curves to estimate ICU and hospital survival and perform survival analysis using the Cox proportional hazards model to identify the main risk factors for mortality. RESULTS: We expect to include a large sample of patients with COVID-19 admitted to the ICU and to be able to provide data on admission characteristics, use of advanced life support, ICU survival at 28 days, and hospital survival at 60 days. CONCLUSIONS: This study will provide epidemiological data about critically ill patients with COVID-19 in Brazil, which could inform health policy and resource allocation in low- and middle-income countries.
