One of the most important transformations that will occur in Emergency Departments (ED) in hospitals over the next few years is the application of new information technologies in clinical practice (1). In particular, it is important to know the requirements for an information system suited to Emergency Medicine (EM), the usual strategies of data gathering, and the types of information related projects in the field of EM. Computer systems support clinical practice but there are many problems associated with this new technology. In an Emergency Department, information needs arise twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. With the average length of stay declining in hospitals, information must be retrieved to influence clinical decision-making and treatment as soon as the need arises. A number of studies have collected data on usage of databases and the librarian's role in the process. One response to the effort to better meet clinical information needs was the evolution of the Clinical Medical Librarian program. Library and information professionals need to work as 'clinical librarians' to meet the need for accurate and timely information. This study emphasizes clinical librarians' work in Emergency Medicine. When clinical librarians are considered part of the health care team, their responsibilities depend upon whom the clinical librarian is serving. This changing role of the clinical librarian may raise new questions about 'normal' library practice. Polyaniline (PANI) is among the most widely studied conducting polymers due to its potential technological applications in various fields. Recently, PANI-based hybrid materials have played an important role in the development of energy storage and conversion systems. The aim of the present work is the investigation of the simultaneous electrochemical growth of PANI and Ta 2 O 5 on the Ta substrate and the characterization of the morphology, redox behavior and pseudocapacitive properties of the resulting micro- or nanostructured composite thin films. A well-adherent conductive Ta 2 O 5 -PANI composite film was first formed using cyclic voltammetry on Ta that facilitates the on-top electrodeposition of single PANI via an autocatalytic mechanism. The electrochemical characterization of the Ta|Ta 2 O 5 -PANI|PANI electrodes reveals unique redox properties of PANI not shown previously upon using PANI electrodeposition on Ta. Scanning electron microscopy shows that the morphology of the electrodeposited films comprises nano- or microspheres that may develop into nano- or microrods when the polymerization proceeds. Preliminary evaluation of the capacitive properties of the Ta|Ta 2 O 5 -PANI|PANI electrode shows adequately high specific capacitance values as high as 1130 F g -1 (at 9.2 mA cm -2 ), depending on the electrochemical parameters, as well as adequate stability (~80% retention after 100 cycles), indicating their potential application as energy storage devices.

Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) comprises a wide spectrum of clinical presentations in children and adults, ranging from favorable lesions to aggressive disseminated disease. We present 2 cases where cytology introduced the diagnosis of LCH in the appropriate clinicoradioliogical settings. Cytology can serve accurately in LCH interpretation based on the characteristic cytomorphology and selected immunocytochemistry, so unwarranted biopsy can be overruled and treatment can be adjusted largely where histopathology services are unavailable. Diagnosis may be difficult in cases with scant or insufficient cellular material.

Objective: Osteoclast-like giant cell tumours are rare abdominal malignant neoplasms mainly arising in the pancreas. Because of their rarity, clinical and cytopathology reports are very limited, and sonographic features have not been clearly specified ; these tumors are easily misdiagnosed by ultrasound as mucinous cystic tumors (MCTs)  or solid pseudopapillary neoplasms (SPNs)., Case Study: We report a case of osteoclast  like giant cell tumor arising in the pancreas of an 80 year old female patient offered by EUS-FNA cytology on direct and cell block slides. A biphasic pattern composed by a malignant mononuclear cell component and a giant cell component were hallmarks to the diagnosis., Conclusion: Our case highlights the performance of EUS-FNA in the diagnostic approach of  abdominal tumours and the significance of cell block method in the interpretation of osteoclast-like giant cell pancreatic tumour.

Anastomosing hemangioma is a rare neoplastic vascular lesion, histologically mimicking angiosarcoma. It is predominantly composed of irregularly anastomosing sinusoidal-like spaces lined by endothelial cells with minimal atypia, a frequently hobnail morphology, and minimally invasive margins. Since its original description in the genitourinary system, an increasing number of anastomosing hemangiomas have been reported, localized deep in the body in various organs, always with similar histologic features. It is more frequently asymptomatic, often discovered incidentally by imaging studies, owing to coexisting benign or malignant tumors. In renal cases, the most frequent clinical context is end-stage renal disease. There is overwhelming evidence of the benign nature of the lesion and an accurate diagnosis could prevent overtreatment. The differential diagnosis includes other benign vascular tumors, well-differentiated angiosarcoma, Kaposi sarcoma, and other vascular-rich neoplasms. We review the clinical and histopathologic characteristics of this peculiar lesion with an emphasis on the differential diagnosis.

This work provides a comprehensive characterization of the gas phase from hydrothermal liquefaction of Dried Distillers Grains with Solubles (DDGS) collected during a 24-h continuous experiment. The gas consisted mainly of CO2, CO, H2, CH4 and C2H6 accounting for 96 v/v% while further analysis by gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (GC-MS) showed additionally 62 compounds of which 54 were tentatively identified. These products included methanethiol, dimethyl sulfide, various olefins and several aromatic compounds. The composition provided clear indication of the steady state of the system.
