The relationship between the maternal glucose disposal rate (GDR) and the masses of the developing fetus and placenta were studied in eleven single pregnancies, five twin and one triplet pregnancy. The correlations between the maternal GDR, maternal glucose concentrations and the weights of fetus and placentas were analyzed. Data gathered show that maternal GDR increases with high glucose concentrations, suggesting high uterine glucose utilization.
