Abstract

Using vanadium oxide (VOx) thin film as active layer, microbolometer with gold black absorber was fabricated due to the high mid-infrared (8-14μm) absorption property of gold black. This paper describes the design and fabrication of microbolometer with micromachining surface technology. The characteristics of the device are investigated. The detector performance exhibits maximum detectivity of 1.96 × 108cmHz1/2/W at 17 Hz with 8.8μA. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Plant Myb transcription factors are crucial in regulating secondary metabolism, cellular morphogenesis and responses to hormone and stress signals. In this study, 19 Myb gene fragments were isolated from five Leymusspecies, three of which, LrMyb3, LmMyb8 and LmMyb6 were nearly complete open reading frames encoding putative LeymusMyb genes. Sequence and phylogenetic analysis indicated that all these putative Myb from Leymusrepresent plant typical R2R3-Myb genes. Compared with Myb gene in Arabidopsis thaliana, the 19 LeymusMyb gene fragments of the R2R3 region amino acid showed three different types, W-x (19) W-x (19) W-x (12) F-x (18) W-x (18) W, W-x (19) W-x (19) W-x (12) M-x (18) W-x (18) W and W-x (19) W-x (19) R-x (12) L-x (18) W-x (18) W. LmMyb8 gene shares high similarity to ZmMyb39 which was possible involvement of caffeic acid O-methyl-transferase (COMT) in the lignification process. TheLmMyb8 gene is expressed at high level in leaves and roots while at low level in stems.

Abstract

In this paper, the electron motion in a submillimeter level microhollow cathode discharge(MHCD) is investigated under high pressures by Monte Carlo simulation. Some swarm parameters have been obtained such as the electron density distribu tion in the field direction for a steady state, the energy and spatial distribut ion under different pressures.The result shows that MHCD under high pressures c an reflect in more detail the essence of the 'oscillating' effect of the hollow cathode discharge.When electrons oscillate in MHC,most of them are scattered st ill forward.With increasing pressure,the effect of lateral scattering will exhib it gradually.

Abstract

The characteristics of DC hollow cathode discharge and cathode sputtering was investigated by means of a two dimensional hybrid model, combing Monte Carlo simulation of the motion of fast electrons and a fluid description of slow electrons and positive ions. The results demonstrate the existence of the hollow cathode effect in the discharge and show that the spatial shape of the normalized ionization source is dependent more on the gas pressure than on the discharge voltage. The factors related to the cathode sputtering were analyzed. Investigations have demonstrated that the non uniform sputtering on the cathode surfaces in a sputter-type ion laser is due to the non-uniform distribution of electric field, flux and density of ions bombarding the cathodes.

Abstract

In this paper,the electron motion confined by a transverse magnetic field in a hollow-cathode discharge is investigated.Some swarm paramaters are obtained such as the energy and spatial distribution under the terminative condition.Due to the existence of a transverse magnetic field,electrons' motion is changed and thus all kinds of the inelastic collision are different from the case of zero magnetic field.The results from simulation show that while the magnetic field is equal to 0.05T,the ionization increases and the distribution of the electrons and ions are of benifit to the development of ion laser.

15. Polycrystalline Silicon Films on SiO2 Substrate Treated by Excimer Laser Annealing

Abstract

Selected area laser-annealed polycrystalline silicon (p-Si) thin films were prepared by a 248 nm excimer laser. 1 μm thick p-Si films with grain size less than 100 nm were deposited on SiO2 substrate by chemical vapor deposition using atmospheric pressure (APCVD). Grain sizes before and after annealing was examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and the mechanism of grain growth was discussed in detail. The maximum grain size of a selected area laser-annealed p-Si film can be increased from 100 nm up to 2.9 μm on SiO2 substrate by using appropriate laser energy densities. It indicated that silicon grains in laser-annealed regions had grown up competitively with three stages.

16. APCVD Deposition of Si Film on SiO2 Patterned Si (111) Substrates for Solar Cells

Abstract

We have investigated the deposition of silicon films on SiO2 patterned Si(111) substrates by atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition (APCVD) under standard condition. Oxidized silicon wafers with different sizes of circular and striated patterns were used as substrates for deposition of 35 μm silicon films. The influence of surface morphologies of substrates on epitaxial Si films has been discussed. The crystalline structures of the epitaxial Si films rely on the prepatterned substrates. Triangular prism-shaped grains have been obtained after depositing silicon film on substrates with circular patterns. While different size polycrystalline silicon grains appear on surfaces of Si films grown on SiO2 regions of substrates along the axis of striated patterns. Twins defects were observed in epitaxial Si films grown on SiO2 layers of the pretreated substrates.

Abstract

Objective: To explore clinic characteristics of proximal anterior cerebral artery aneurysms and analyzed operative techniques., Methods: A review was performed of a total of 362 patients whose aneurysms were surgically treated from June 1995 to December 2003, the morbidity of A(1) aneurysms was 2.2%. To reviewed clinical data of 8 proximal anterior cerebral artery aneurysms patients., Results: All of the aneurysms developed at the takeoff point of perforating arteries, the recurrent artery of Heubner in three cases, the medial proximal lenticulostriate artery in five cases. Six cases aneurysms projected posteriorly, two cases projected inferiorly in the surgical field. The shape of the aneurysms was saccular in all cases and diameter no larger than 5 mm in six cases. Patients were clipped satisfactorily, excellent condition in 7 patient, good condition in one., Conclusion: It is important to preserve the perforating arteries and use suitable clip by avoiding cerebral ischemia.

Abstract

Objective: To explore surgical treatment of gliomas involving the supplementary motor area (SMA) in the superior frontal gyrus., Methods: Clinical data and follow-up outcome of 16 patients with low graded astrocytomas involving the supplementary motor area were analyzed., Results: SMA syndrome was developed in 6 patients in whom the posterior tumor resection line was at a distance of more than 1 cm from the precentral sulcus and resolved after 12 months. Hemiplegia occurred however in 8 patients in whom the resection line was less than 1 cm to precentral sulcus and only resolved in 3 patients during follow period 12 months., Conclusions: When the resection is performed at a distance of less than 1 cm from the precentral sulcus, surgery for gliomas of involving the supplementary motor area in the superior frontal gyrus may be result in permanent morbidity.
