Abstract

The article discusses the pathogenesis of reovirus following gastrointestinal tract infection. It focuses on a study conducted on laboratory animal models of reovirus serotype 3 prototype strains which revealed strain specific differences influenced by polymorphism and replication in murine lung and dissemination from mucosal site. It mentions an analysis of viral titers that showed increased viral replication due to the attachment protein in reovirus pathogenesis.
