SUMMARY Definitive repair of a surgical wound of the anterior lamella of an eyelid should be delayed in some cases until the surgeon is sure of the histopathologic diagnosis of the lesion and the adequacy of his resection. Epigard is a polyurethane-polypropylene barrier dressing that can be sutured to wound edges, protecting underlying tissues until definitive repair is undertaken. It is well tolerated, cosmetically acceptable, easily removed and does not impair definitive repair of the wound.
