Background Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) is one of the common infectious diseases with high morbidity and heavy disease burden. Despite the continuous advancement of diagnostic technology and the launch of new antimicrobial drugs, the morbidity and mortality of CAP are still high. The clinical research of Shufeng Jiedu capsules in the adjuvant treatment of CAP is increasing, but there is still a lack of systematic review and meta-analysis. Objective To systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of Shufeng Jiedu capsules in the treatment of CAP. Methods Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) about Shufeng Jiedu capsules in the treatment of CAP was retrieved in CNKI, Wanfang Data, VIP, SinoMed, PubMed, Cochrane Library and EMBase from inception to November 2021 by computer. The control group was treated with routine western medicine, and the experimental group was treated with Shufeng Jiedu capsules orally on the basis of the control group. The retrieval time was from the establishment of the database to November 2021. RevMan 5.3 software was used for data analysis, and GRADE criteria were used to evaluate the level of evidence for the outcome indicators. α-CsPbI3 quantum dots (QDs) are ideal materials for pure red light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to achieve a wide color gamut display. Small α-CsPbI3 QDs have a large specific surface area and exhibit a near-spherical shape, discontinuous crystal faces with intense surface defects and crystal distortion, which accelerates phase transition and optoelectronic degradation. Additionally, the tolerance factor for α-CsPbI3 is too small to be stabilized. Herein, we report a Ca2+ doping strategy to tune the CsPbI3 tolerance factor to inhibit its phase transition, enhance its structural stability, decrease the lattice distortion and reduce the defects. The stability of the Ca2+-doped CsPbI3 QDs under harsh conditions are improved. The Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage coordinates of the perovskite LEDs are (0.706, 0.294), satisfying wide color gamut as well as Rec. 2020 requirements for pure red, and the LEDs exhibit a 1.67-fold enhancement in half-lifetime to 32.0 min at a voltage of 5.0 V (346 cd m−2) and 1.31-fold enhancement in the EQE to 10.3%. Cell-based products must [...], Exosomes, as functional paracrine units of therapeutic cells, can partially reproduce the reparative properties of their parental cells. The constitution of exosomes, as well as their biological activity, largely depends on the cells that secrete them. We isolated exosomes from explant-derived cardiac stromal cells from patients with heart failure (FEXO) or from normal donor hearts (NEXO) and compared their regenerative activities in vitro and in vivo. Patients in the FEXO group exhibited an impaired ability to promote endothelial tube formation and cardiomyocyte proliferation in vitro. Intramyocardial injection of NEXO resulted in structural and functional improvements in a murine model of acute myocardial infarction. In contrast. FEXO therapy exacerbated cardiac function and left ventricular remodeling. microRNA array and PCR analysis revealed dysregulation of miR-21-5p in FEXO. Restoring miR-21-5p expression rescued FEXO's reparative function, whereas blunting miR-21-5p expression in NEXO diminished its therapeutic benefits. Further mechanistic studies revealed that miR-21-5p augmented Akt kinase activity through the inhibition of phosphatase and tensin homolog. Taken together, the heart failure pathological condition altered the miR cargos of cardiac-derived exosomes and impaired their regenerative activities. miR-21-5p contributes to exosome-mediated heart repair by enhancing angiogenesis and cardiomyocyte survival through the phosphatase and tensin homolog/Akt pathway.

Graphene oxide (EGO) was prepared via an electrochemical exfoliation method and modified with dopamine and tannic acid, and it was then incorporated into epoxy resins to enhance their barrier, self-healing and anticorrosion performances. The morphologies, structures and compositions of the HGO (GO prepared via Hummers' method), EGO and MGO (modified EGO) were characterized via SEM, TEM, AFM, Raman spectroscopy and XPS. The protective performances of the epoxy varnish coatings, EGO/epoxy coatings and MGO/epoxy coatings with different contents of MGO were evaluated via EIS measurements, and the role played by MGO on the coating defects was determined via LEIS and salt spray tests on the scratched coatings in a 3.5% NaCl solution. The results show that the dopamine and tannic were successfully grafted onto the EGO surface via π–π interactions and chemical bonding, and that the dispersibility of the MGO in the epoxy resins was facilitated. The epoxy coatings with a 0.1% addition of MGO possessed the best anticorrosion properties (|Z|0.01Hz > 1010 Ω cm2 after 70 days immersion in 3.5% NaCl solution) in comparison to the other coatings due to the "labyrinth effect" formed by the uniformly dispersed MGO. Meanwhile, the grafted tannic acid was released at the coating defects and provided inhibition functionalities for the substrate. As a result, the corrosion of the carbon steel was significantly decreased. This work provides a new perspective on the efficient modification of electrochemically exfoliated GO epoxy coatings for metals by combining the advantages of dopamine and corrosion inhibitors.
