The discussion and revision of the Norwegian school’s role and mission for the future (NOU 2015:8) draws attention to the ever ongoing negotiation between tradition and trends in the disciplines. This article seeks to contribute to knowledge on central aspects of literature education within the subject of Norwegian in upper secondary school, by studying how matriculating students describe this practice. In two group interviews, these students recontextualise, retrospectively, the literary practice which they have encountered in school and their own development within the frames of this practice. The article investigates how the students describe the participants, actions and resources of the practice, and the core values that structure their descriptions of the practice. The study indicate that the students experience a tension between the different frames in teaching practice, that lead towards or away from the subject core, and that students behave differently when experiencing this tension. Despite variations in preferences and behaviour, the students are in accord in describing how a combination of work with challenging literate texts over time and with different ways of working, lead to situations characterised by deep understanding, multiple interpretations, critical thinking and participation – all aspects in line with their conception of the disciplinary core. The article argues for the necessity of considering the students as participants in the literary community of practice.

Šafárik´s collection of poems Tatranská Můza s lýrou slovanskou (The Muse of Tatras with a Slavonic lyre, Levoča, 1814) attracts a lot of attention in the literary-historical discourse – as a rule it is regarded as an important milestone in the development of Slovak poetry, or as the first manifestation of real modern Slovak poetry. On the other hand, it overshadows - not quite fairly - other authors´ literary works written at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. Recent interpretations and analyses of the period of Slovak literature in question shows the need to review some of the profiles, especially those which comment on its influence on steering domestic literary development. Although it is indisputable, some of Šafárik´s poems carry features of more personal, subjective or intimate poetic expression, it cannot be overlooked that he often combined it with other poetic strategies which are just as relevant sources of information when reconstructing general outlines of the Slovak literary development. Therefore when analysing and assessing (not only) Šafárik´s collection, it is necessary to take account of the complete list of contemporary literary principles, a possibility of foreign influence or a number of other potential sources of insipration, as well as the historical, social and cultural context of the overall contemporary literary production.

Th e authors explain the crisis in literature teaching not only by the decline of the readers, but also by the confusion of reading strategies, the spread of such school reading practices that are alien to the perception of a literary text. Th e task of forming various types of functional literacy communicative, everyday, legal, informational, actively introduced nowadays into the literature class not only contradicts artistic perception, but also distorts the main goal of literary education: the literary development of students with its central mechanism the analysis of the literary work. At the stage of analysis, complex analytical work with the text, the thoughtful practice of close reading is replaced by various types of this works management, largely associated with the unjustifi ed use of innovations. Th e authors note that negative tendencies are also being intensifi ed because a large part of teachers have lost the idea of the content of the reading training, of the laws of literary evolution, of the specifi city of literary work analysis at school. A critical analysis of the dialogical situations of the lessons of literature has shown their dependence on the sociological, ethical problems of the past, not related to the present. Russian classics require a high tension of thoughts and feelings from the reader, but as it is proved in this article, modern readers tend to avoid complex works, topics and problems, preferring to escape into light text or virtual reality. Th e study is based on authors experience of working with the high school students, on their analysis of modern methodological literature, abstracts of lessons and websites created by the teachers of literature.

From considering the Decameron a narrative archetype, I suggest setting up the boundaries of a corpus of accounts about the use of magics in the marriage mockery in order to focus on motives, characters, types, composition techniques and expressive resources which, from the book written by Boccaccio, the narrative and the drama of the Renaissance spread in our literature. The purpose of this is to reopen once again the theme of the Italian sources in the entremés La cueva de Salamanca in order to better improve —even from possible Italian models—, the deep innovation of the Cervantes’ text and the ideological background behind it.

- Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to analyze John Keats’s “Lamia” and his style of Anti-Romance as informed by William Shakespeare’s own experimentation with Romance and Anti-Romance in “King Lear.” In order to fulfill the purpose of my thesis, I explore both the Romance and the Anti-Romance genres and develop a definition of the latter that is more particular to “King Lear” and “Lamia.” I also look at the source material for both “King Lear” and “Lamia” to see how Shakespeare and Keats were handling the originally Romantic material. Both Shakespeare and Keats altered the original material by subverting the traditional elements of Romance. In conclusion, the thesis suggests that Shakespeare’s Anti-Romance, “King Lear,” and his general reworking of the Romance genre within that play informed Keats’s own experimentation with and deviation from the traditional Romance genre, particularly in “Lamia.”

- Abstract
Early written Shona narratives like Solomon Mutswairo's Feso [Thorn; name of main character, 1982] evince fantasy since they emanated from folktales, a genre that abounds in this element. Contrary to this, Charles Mungoshi attempts to portray life faithfully in Makunun'unu Maodzamwoyo [Brooding breeds despair, 1977], Ndiko Kupindana Kwamazuva [How time passes, 1975] and Kunyarara Hakusi Kutaura? [Is silence not a form of speech? 1983]. This study attempts to show how this realism manifests itself in the components that constitute each of the works: setting, plot, characterisation, theme and style. Mungoshi's characters, for instance, are not one-sided supernatural beings who perform fabulous acts. Instead, they have strengths and limitations like people in everyday life. Their actions and speech are consistent with their social backgrounds. By injecting realism into the Shona narrative, Mungoshi has contributed towards its development. Due to this realism, the works deserve the label "novels" as opposed to "romances".

- Abstract
In this study, the researcher investigated how computer use functions as an aspect of literacy development within a second-grade classroom. The researcher sought to gather data to help define the role that computer use plays in the literacy development of elementary school students by concentrating on how computers are actually used in the classroom being studied, and by looking for relationships revealed by students' and teacher's beliefs about computer use in the classroom.
