Despite the significance of materiality, its implementation has been perceived as ambiguous, opaque, and heterogeneous. This study focuses on analyzing materiality reporting among companies that utilize GRI and are listed on the Spanish stock exchange between 2018 and 2021. First, it examines the disclosure of materiality analysis by introducing a materiality disclosure assessment index (MDA) and exploring its determinants. Additionally, it investigates the alignment of material topics with GRI Topic Standards, analyzing the cross‐cutting nature of material topics. Our results indicate that MDA reached slightly over half of its maximum value. We found evidence that MDA is positively associated with membership in the IBEX 35, as well as with five out of the seven industries comprising the stock index. Furthermore, the years of disclosure experience in two industries significantly influenced MDA. Companies considered 20% of material topics as cross‐cutting, while another 20% had no direct correspondence with GRI standards. Purpose: This study aims to investigate the effects of IFRS convergence on market liquidity and to analyze the firm-level heterogeneity in liquidity effects based on reporting incentive, firm size, ownership structure and firm leverage. Design/methodology/approach: The empirical analysis is based on firm-fixed effect regression using several proxies of market liquidity as dependent variables. The sample consists of 337 firms listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) who shifted to IFRS from the financial year 2016–2017. Findings: The empirical findings indicate that IFRS convergence has contributed to the significant increase in market liquidity in a weaker enforcement country, i.e. India. Additionally, when the study performs the heterogeneity test of IFRS impact, the results indicate the presence of significant cross-sectional differences in such liquidity effects across firms. Thus, altogether the findings suggest that both accounting convergence and firm-level factors are likely to be the mechanism underlying the observed improvement in market liquidity. Originality/value: In the current literature, there is an ongoing debate about whether the observed post-IFRS effects are driven by the change in accounting standard per se or by other related factors. Therefore, by studying the liquidity effects of IFRS convergence in India, this study provides evidence regarding the sources of the documented IFRS effects. This study examines how abnormal trading volumes reflect new information, such as CEO-related announcements. Using hand-collected data on 1,236 CEO reappointments and turnovers from Polish firms listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, we show that investor reaction to CEO-related announcements is stronger in the winter-spring season than in the summer-fall season. However, in the summer-fall season, CEO reappointment triggers higher trading activity than CEO turnover announcements, while in the winter-spring season, the reaction is opposite. We also discover that abnormal trading volumes induced by CEO-related announcements are significantly lower at the beginning and end of the week than in the middle of the week. Furthermore, when it comes to day of the week anomalies, investors are much less interested in CEO reappointment than in turnover. The findings suggest that calendar effects influence investor reactions to CEO appointments, offering new insights into market anomalies and corporate governance mechanisms. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of the study is to measure the predictive prowess of adapting the Altman's Z-score models when used to predict financial health and subsequent delisting of mining companies listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange between 1994 and 2021. The study applied Altman's Z-score models to the financials of listed mining companies to measure the adaptability of the model for predicting the financial health status of mining companies and subsequent delisting in 1-, 2- and 3-years' time against the actual listing status of each company in the sample over corresponding time horizons. Overseas listings by domestic firms are one of the ways for a country to attract foreign capital. China leads the world in the number and value of overseas listings. This paper documents the evolution of Chinese firms' initial public offerings outside mainland China. We pay special attention to the role of the listing criteria of various exchanges in this evolution. We discuss important reforms of the listing requirements in both mainland and Hong Kong and their effects on the listing location choices by Chinese firms. The purpose of this study is to examine the influences of external auditor firm type, auditor tenure, and external auditor changes on the quality of Saudi Arabian financial reports. In particular, this study examines the quality of financial reports of companies listed on the Saudi Stock Exchange using a widely accepted evaluation model modified by JonesThis study aims to determine whether Big Four and non-Big Four audit firms, auditor tenures of three or more years, and external auditor changes have any impact on the quality of financial reports of Saudi-listed companies. This study uses 175 firm-year observations of 35 companies listed on the Tadawul Saudi Stock Exchange between 2017 and 2021. Using discretionary accruals (DACC) as modified by Jones to measure the quality of financial reports, the findings illustrate that there is a significant negative relationship between Big Four audit firms and DACC. However, the study also shows a significant positive correlation between auditor tenure and DACC. The research revealed that there is no significant relationship between auditor change and DACC. These results have practical implications for policy development. According to the outcomes of this research, there are numerous ramifications for both companies and the government in Saudi Arabia in terms of enhancing the relationship between companies and audit firms and determining the most suitable auditor tenure to improve the quality of financial reports. This paper investigates the relationship between liquidity, information asymmetry, political risk rating, government and regulatory quality rating for non-U.S. stocks in the energy industries listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Our findings indicate that stocks from countries with higher government and regulatory quality and lower political risk tend to have narrower spreads, a smaller price impact of trades, and a higher market quality index. To explore the impact of political risk on liquidity and information asymmetry, we analyze political shocks resulting from the U.S.-China trade conflict on Chinese energy stocks. Our findings reveal that whenever the U.S.-China political tension escalates over trade policy, the market liquidity and information asymmetry for Chinese energy stocks worsen. This suggests that negative shocks have a detrimental impact on the liquidity of stocks from countries where political tension is escalated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This research aims to determine whether LDR, NPL, BOPO, and CAR have a direct effect on FSR through ROA in banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The sample was selected using purposive sampling with a total sample of 40 banks. The research data was tested using path analysis. The results of the direct analysis show that LDR does not affect FSR, while NPL, BOPO, and CAR have a negative and significant effect on FSR. Additionally, ROA has a positive and significant effect on FSR. Furthermore, LDR and CAR do not affect ROA, whereas NPL has a positive and significant effect, and BOPO has a significant negative effect on ROA. The results of the indirect analysis show that LDR, NPL, and CAR do not affect FSR through ROA, whereas BOPO has a significant negative effect on FSR through ROA. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This research aims to test and analyze the influence of interest rate risk and credit risk on profitability (empirical study of banking companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange). The population in this study was 43 companies obtained using a purposive sampling method on Banking companies during the 2020-2022 period and based on predetermined criteria, a sample of 34 manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange was obtained. The total sample data for the 2020-2022 period is 102 samples. The analysis method used is multiple linear analysis with the help of SPSS software. The research results show that interest rate risk have a positive and significant effect on the profitability of banking companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange in 2020-2022. And credit risk has a negative and significant impact on profitability in banking companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange in 2020-2022. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Corporate governance (CG) is one of the most sought after areas of research globally. This paper employs a corporate governance index (CGI) formulated from the KING III and IV reports to examine the link between corporate performance and the quality of CG and corporate social responsibility (CSR) of SA REITs listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE). The CGI index is created from King III and IV to measure the compliance of 33 SA REITs listed on the JSE as of January 2023. These REITs are assessed from 2013. The empirical investigation using multiple correspondence analysis (MCA) reveals that CG practices have a positive influence on firm performances measured by TSR (such as total share return). The results imply that CG's standard principles influences the firm performance of SA REITs with a higher magnitude. The CSR index is created from the King reports, and the MCA was also used. Background: Investment efficiency is expected to mitigate agency problems in investment decision-making. However, the role of investment efficiency in accounting performance- based pay is less well-known. Purpose: This study investigates the moderating effects of investment efficiency on the nexus between accounting performance and executive compensation, which is termed accounting performance-based pay. We predict that executives at firms with more investment efficiency will receive a higher accounting performance-based pay. Design/methodology/approach: This study uses a sample comprising 888 firm-year observations of non-financial companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2010 to 2018. Finding/result: Using the level of investment efficiency and executive cash compensation as measures, we find that executive accounting performance-based pay significantly increases in investment-efficient firms. We also find that the association between investment efficiency and accounting pay-for-performance sensitivity is consistent with a robustness check using a different measure of investment efficiency. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that Indonesian firms generally incorporate relative investment efficiency when designing executive compensation contracts. Originality/value (state of the art): This study fills an important gap in the literature on the role of investment efficiency and the use of accounting performance-based pay to address empirical evidence of the incentive alignment effect of strategic decision-making. The determination of the amount of audit fees paid by companies to public accountants can be influenced by various factors. This study aims to examine the effect of audit committee activity, internal audit personnel, and company complexity on audit fees. The research population is manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2019-2022 period. The total research sample was 165 observation data. The analysis tool uses multiple linear regression. The results showed that company complexity and internal audit personnel had a positive effect on audit fees. Meanwhile, the audit committee activity variable has no positive effect on audit fees. Thus the KAP selection method uses a demand approach. The implications of this study indicate that the selection of KAP tends to be reputable so that no matter how good the supervision carried out by the audit committee or internal audit personnel, the audit fees will also remain high. Dividend policy is not set de novo each year, but dividends are smoothed from one year to the next, leading to a short-term persistent component. In this paper, we investigate whether there is also long-run persistence in dividend policy, by using a unique sample of firms listed on the Brussels Stock Exchange since 1824. We show that dividend smoothing leads to a long-term persistent component in dividend policy, as we find evidence that the initial dividend policy, as measured in the first calendar year after listing, has a long-lasting effect on future dividend policy. Although this effect persists for many years, it fades away over time. When this happens, a new slowly changing dividend policy emerges. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study highlights the positive impact of a stock market listing on workplace safety. We find that workplace injuries in publicly listed firms are lower than those in comparable private firms, and this effect relates to heightened monitoring by the media and regulators. The media pays more attention to public firms' safety issues than to those of private firms, and the reduced media scrutiny due to local newspaper closures leads to greater increases in injuries in public firms. Regulators also monitor public firms more strictly, evidenced by a higher likelihood of nonroutine inspections and larger penalties for detected violations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: In today's interconnected world, social capital has emerged as a crucial business competence, drawing significant attention in recent literature. Using social network analysis, this study aims to investigate the impact of network centrality, established by a firm through its board members (i.e. boardroom networks), on corporate cash holdings. Design/methodology/approach: This study uses extensive panel data comprising 36,963 firm-year observations of firms listed on the Australian Securities Exchange, spanning a 22-year period (2001–2022). The study uses firm fixed-effect regression along with several alternative specifications and an instrumental variable approach to ensure the robustness of the results. Boardroom network centrality is quantified by five measures that capture different perspectives on networks as viable conduits for resource exchange and information flow: degree, two-step reach, closeness, eigenvector and betweenness. Findings: The authors find evidence for the benefits of board networks. Firms with well-connected boards (central firms) are more likely to have smaller cash holdings. The findings also reveal distinct effects stemming from local and global properties of centrality, with local network measures playing a more pronounced role in shaping cash-holding decisions. Overall, the evidence reflects the ability of connected directors to enhance governance by limiting managerial discretion over cash reserves, thus reducing agency conflicts associated with cash holdings. Research limitations/implications: This study offers important insights for regulators, investors and practitioners, highlighting the potential for connected directors to effectively curtail managerial autonomy in deploying corporate cash holdings. Originality/value: This study contributes to the ongoing discussion about the advantages and drawbacks of board networks, which constitute a vibrant and burgeoning area of research in the finance literature. It also complements scanty network-based studies on firm cash holdings. Importantly, this study extends prior work by providing robust evidence and a comprehensive analysis of the nuanced roles that board networks play in affecting the level of cash reserves. Non-financial companies listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange face considerable difficulties due to expensive funding and the need to make complex decisions about their capital structure. These problems impact their judgments about dividend policy, resulting in ambiguity and possible inefficiency. This study draws on the bird-in-hand theory to investigate the influence of the cost of capital on dividend policy decisions among non-financial firms listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, focusing on 227 companies from 2005 to 2022. The data for this study were sourced from Thomson Reuters Datastream. Employing the common shock autoregressive distributed lag (CS-ARDL) and two-step generalized method of moments (GMM) estimations, findings reveal that the cost of debt consistently negatively impacts dividend payouts and coverage ratios. In contrast, the cost of equity has an insignificant effect. Conversely, the weighted average cost of capital positively influences dividend payouts and coverage ratios but negatively influences dividend yield. All the findings supported the bird-in-hand theory except for the negative impact of WACC on dividend yield. These insights highlight the importance of considering the cost of capital and market share dynamics in dividend policy formulation. Firms should prioritize efficient debt management to sustain dividend distributions, and aligning dividend policies with overall capital structure management is crucial in this regard, providing a sense of reassurance and confidence to the firms and their stakeholders. Currently 1677 species are listed under the U.S. Endangered Species Act (ESA), yet only a small percentage have been delisted due to recovery. In the fall of 2021, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service proposed delisting 23 species due to extinction. Tracking changes in species 'recovery status over time is critical to understanding species' statuses, informing adaptive management strategies, and assessing the performance of the ESA to prevent further species loss. In this paper, we describe four key obstacles in tracking species recovery status under the ESA. First, ESA 5‐year reviews lack a standardized format and clear documentation. Second, despite having been listed for decades, many species still suffer major data gaps in their biology and threats, rendering it difficult if not impossible to track progress towards recovery. Third, many species have continued declining after listing, yet given the above (1 & 2), understanding potential causes (proximate and/or ultimate) can be difficult. Fourth, many species currently have no path to clear recovery, which represents a potential failing of the process. This research is quantitative research. The aim of this research is to find out whether The Influence Of Exchange Rate, Interest Rates And Company Size On Capital Structure On The Indonesian Stock Exchange on the Indonesian Stock Exchange. 22 corporate bonds were obtained from 11 issuing banking sector companies as samples. The CR variable has a positive but insignificant effect on the DER ratio of banking sector companies that issue bonds and are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2019-2023 period. The SIZE variable has a positive and significant effect on the DER of banking sector companies that issue bonds and are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. FOREX variable has a negative and significant effect on the DER of banking sector companies that issue bonds and are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The introduction of the obligation to prepare ESG reports taking into account EU Taxonomy is a challenge for enterprises, but at the same time opens up the possibility of using disclosures in this area to assess entities in the context of environmentally sustainable activities. Legal changes in the field of the Green Deal have been introduced in the last three years, and in the area of EU taxonomy this process is still ongoing, resulting in a deficit of research on the effects of implementing the new legal regulations. The main goal of our study is to assess the importance of the newly applicable ESG reporting and environmental disclosure requirements under EU Taxonomy in improving the quality and comparability of sustainability reporting and the creation of ESG ratings. A qualitative research method was applied based on multiple case studies using content analysis on the basis of ESG reports for 2021-2022 for entities listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The research results indicate a very low level of activities classified as environmentally sustainable and taxonomy-aligned. Additionally, the results may also indicate problems with implementing the new solutions in reporting practice. Studies on numerous species have demonstrated strikingly conserved mechanisms that determine the aging process, from yeasts to worms, flies, zebrafish, mice, and humans. The fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster is an excellent model organism for studying the biological basis of normal aging and etiology of age-related diseases. Since its inception in 1967, the Bloomington Drosophila Stock Center (BDSC) has grown into the largest collection of documented D. melanogaster strains (currently > 91,000). This paper aims to briefly review conserved mechanisms of aging and provides a guide to help users understand the organization of stock listings on the BDSC website and familiarize themselves with the search functions on BDSC and FlyBase, with an emphasis on using genes in conserved pathways as examples to find stocks for aging studies. This research aims to compare Active and Passive Investment Strategies on the Indonesian Stock Exchange for the 2013-2024 Using the Magic Formula Method introduced by Joel Greenblatt (2010), which is then optimized again using the Single Index Model. Magic formula is a simple stock selection strategy by sorting stocks based on Return on Capital (ROC) and Earning Yield (EY). The shares to be selected are included in the Kompas100 Index. The selected shares have also been listed on the stock exchange for a minimum of 18 months. Shares included in financial shares will be eliminated. The next step is to select 20 shares to be formed into a Portfolio based on the top ranking of the ROC and EY scores, these 20 shares will be optimized using the Single Index Model method. For active strategies, rebalancing will be carried out every year, while for passive strategies, buy and hold will be carried out. The results of this active strategy will be compared with passive strategies and IHSG. Portfolio measurement will be carried out in 4 ways, namely: return, Sharpe ratio, Treynor ratio and Jensen Alpha. The return from the optimized Magic Formula shows a value of 217.04%, higher than the original Magic Formula return of 43.43% and the passive strategy of 35.04% and the IHSG return of 47%, but the final research results of the portfolio show measurements based on return, ratio Sharpe, and Treynor ratios were not significantly different, being significantly different only from Jensen Alpha measurements. This research paper examined how tax aggressiveness is influenced by ownership structure (managerial ownership, foreign ownership, and family ownership). The study used a population of 53 companies that engage in manufacturing sector and have been listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) from 2020 to 2022. In this study, tax aggressiveness was measured by effective tax rate and book-tax difference models. It also examined the relationship between foreign ownership, family ownership, and managerial ownership with tax aggressiveness using a regression model analysis with the aid of STATA. It was found that a significant relationship exists between managerial ownership and effective tax rate, similar to family ownership and book-tax difference. This implies that manufacturing companies in Indonesia that were dominated by family ownership and managerial ownership could reduce tax aggressiveness. This research is a quantitative study that aims to determine the effect of green innovation as measured by four indicators of disclosure items and carbon emission disclosure on company value, moderated by environmental performance. The sample of this research was taken from manufacturing sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the 2020-2022 period, which were selected based on the purposive sampling method. Data were obtained from 37 companies, with a total sample size of 111. The results of the test indicate that (1) Green innovation does not have a significant influence on company value. (2) Carbon emission disclosure does not have a significant influence on company value. (3) Environmental performance does not strengthen the relationship between green innovation and company value, and (4) Environmental performance does not strengthen the relationship between carbon emission disclosure and company value. While previous studies have mainly explored the impact of media freedom on macroeconomic variables, there is a relative scarcity of research on how media freedom affects stock markets. This paper examines the relationship between media freedom and the liquidity and information asymmetry of non-U.S. stocks listed on the New York Stock Exchange by demonstrating how these factors affect the liquidity dynamics of stocks from countries with varying degrees of media freedom. Ultimately, this study reveals that non-U.S. stocks from countries with limited press freedom experience poorer market liquidity. These conclusions hold even when considering a broader concept, voice and accountability, which includes media freedom, as well as different measures of liquidity and asymmetry, which reaffirms the reliability of the results. Our research illustrates the vital significance of media freedom in enhancing the liquidity of individual company stocks and mitigating market information asymmetry, suggesting that a nation's press freedom can profoundly influence its stock market performance. Objective: The article assesses the current way of presenting achievements (measured by comprehensive income) by selected joint-stock companies in the statement of financial position. This is done in the light of the concept of comprehensive income and the comparability and understandability of financial information. The article also presents the authors' solution for presenting comprehensive income. Research Design & Methods: The research method used in the theoretical part is a critical analysis of IFRS regulations (in particular IAS 1) and the literature thereof. The empirical part uses financial statements prepared for 2022 by selected companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. On the basis of those, a critical assessment of the information presented on comprehensive income and its components is presented. Findings: The research shows the lack of uniform solutions in the presentation of comprehensive income, especially in the context of the statement of financial position. The effect of such a state of affairs is the low quality of reporting information, and thus the limited readability of reports and the usability of information for stakeholders Implications/Recommendations: Presenting the value of the profit or loss and other comprehensive income directly in the structure of equity should be made obligatory. This would increase the readability of information on comprehensive income, and reduce the ambiguity stakeholders face in interpreting it. It would also ensure a close link between the elements of the financial statements, the layout of which is partly based on the concept of comprehensive income. Artificial intelligence (AI) plays a crucial role in addressing resource and environmental constraints and achieving sustainable economic and social development. This study examines the impact and mechanisms of AI on the green and low‐carbon transformation of enterprises using a sample of companies listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges from 2009 to 2021. The research findings indicate that AI has the capability to effectively mitigate corporate carbon emissions (CCE) and enhance the level of green innovation (GI) in enterprises. Mechanism analysis reveals that energy consumption plays a mediating role in the relationship between AI and CCE. Heterogeneity analysis reveals that the inhibitory effect of AI on CCE is more pronounced in private enterprises and non‐heavy polluting industries. However, the impact of AI on GI is greater in state‐owned enterprises and heavy‐polluting industries. This study sheds light on the influence of AI on the green and low‐carbon transformation of enterprises, as well as its transmission mechanisms. The relationship between intellectual capital and firm performance represents a critical facet of corporate governance, warranting comprehensive investigation. By analyzing data from 1151 non-financial firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange over the period from 2018 to 2022, the authors utilize fixed effect regression analysis to test their hypothesis. This study's findings reveal a positive and significant relationship between intellectual capital and firm performance. Additionally, the interaction model incorporating political connections yields statistically significant results, indicating that political connections can moderate the relationship between intellectual capital and firm performance. This study makes a substantial contribution to the literature, particularly by advancing the understanding of corporate governance through the lens of intellectual capital's influence on firm performance. It offers both theoretical and practical insights into the Indonesian context, highlighting the moderating role of political connections. The aim of this study is to analyse the variables related to knowledge (Talent Management and Training) as a source of human capital in the companies listed in the ranking of the most attractive organisations within the Spanish labour market, published annually by the journal Actualidad Económica (period 2016–2022). We seek to determine the socio-economic variables impacting this assessment, while also exploring the sustainability of the companies in the ranking. Ten hypotheses are thus examined by descriptive statistics, ANOVA, and multiple linear regression models. The results show a significant relationship between permanence, nationality, professional–scientific–technical sector, size, stock market listing, and both variables representative of knowledge in the ranked companies. Focusing on Talent Management, it is noted that permanence in the ranking (>4 years), Anglo-Saxon nationality, being active in the professional, scientific, and technical sector, and being listed on the stock market all play a part. However, Training differs in that size is a factor that positively influences valuation, whereas the international area is irrelevant. Our findings are a key contribution, as there are no previous applied studies that correlate knowledge in the business environment, the valuation of organisations from the employee's perspective, and several socio-economic variables. Globally, G20 has been recognised as a catalyst in building environmentally sustainable growth and promoting energy transitions towards more flexible, transparent and cleaner energy systems through sustainability reporting practices. Sustainability reporting practices, an umbrella of Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting practices review a specific set of criteria that evaluate a business on how effectively implements ESG projects and the impacts its factors have had on the business towards sustainable growth. By burning fossil fuels and emitting greenhouse gases, the power sector companies are more directly contributing to the global energy transition. For the net-zero transition, it is crucial to concentrate on sustainability and incorporate ESG reporting practices. The purpose of this study is to analyse the reporting practices of ESG indicators by 10 listed power sector companies; that have high market capitalisation operated in India. Sustainability, ESG and annual reports of selected companies are taken for five years spreading from the year 2017-2018 to 2021-2022. The presence of ESG indicators in power sectors is measured by Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report framework issued by SEBI guidelines. Descriptive cum exploratory research methods are used to analyse the ESG indicators in reporting practices of power sector companies. The finding of the analysis shows that all the sample power sector companies are disclosing ESG indicators and National Voluntary Guidelines in their sustainability reporting. The paper found that all the sample companies are disclosing the social indicators, more than the environmental and governance indicators in the sustainability report by top 10 power sector companies listed in NSE. In this paper, we develop the theory of functional generation of portfolios in an equity market with changing dimension. By introducing dimensional jumps in the market, as well as jumps in stock capitalization between the dimensional jumps, we construct different types of self‐financing stock portfolios (additive, multiplicative, and rank‐based) in a very general setting. Our study explains how a dimensional change caused by a listing or delisting event of a stock, and unexpected shocks in the market, affect portfolio return. We also provide empirical analyses of some classical portfolios, quantifying the impact of dimensional change in portfolio performance relative to the market. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: This study aims to investigate the effect of the dynamics and potential of the board of directors on investment efficiency and the comparability of financial information in companies listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange. Design/methodology/approach: The number of observations for this study includes 1,218 observations from companies listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange during 2014–2020. The authors used econometric statistical methods such as multiple linear regression, the Chow and Hausman test and the Kendall correlation coefficient using Eviews software to conduct the research. To measure the board's effectiveness, two variables are used, including board dynamics and potential. Findings: The results showed a positive and significant relationship between dynamics, board potential and investment efficiency. Also, no significant relationship was observed between the board dynamics and the comparability of financial information. Finally, a positive and significant relationship exists between the board's potential and the comparability of financial information. Originality/value: The importance of this research is the use of board proxies, including the dynamics and potential of the board. In addition, other variables of board characteristics, such as size, independence, ownership and gender, and the relationship between these variables with investment efficiency and comparability of financial information, have been examined in this study. This study analyzes the efficiency levels of Indonesian banking companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period of 2019-2022, encompassing the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Efficiency in banking is crucial for maintaining competitive advantage and ensuring financial stability, especially in the face of global challenges such as economic globalization and digitalization. The research evaluates the efficiency of banks using indicators like the CAMEL method, BOPO, NIM, NPL, LDR, and CAR ratios. The study finds that the pandemic significantly affected banks' efficiency, with notable declines in NIM and ROA ratios due to economic uncertainty and operational cost challenges. Postpandemic, these ratios have shown signs of stabilization. The study uses descriptive quantitative methods, analyzing secondary data from annual financial reports of eight banking companies listed on IDX. The results indicate that strategic measures in risk management and cost efficiency are imperative for banks to navigate future uncertainties. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study investigates kidney transplant outcomes in highly sensitised patients after implementing a delisting strategy aimed at enabling transplantation despite preformed donor‐specific antibodies (preDSA), with the goal of reducing acute antibody‐mediated rejection (aAMR) risk. Fifty‐three sensitised recipients underwent kidney transplant after delisting prohibited HLA antigens, focusing initially in low MFI antibodies (<5000), except for anti‐HLA‐DQ. If insufficient, higher MFI antibodies were permitted, especially for those without an immunogenic eplet pattern assigned. Delisting of Complement‐fixing antibodies (C1q+) was consistently avoided. Comparison cohorts included 53 sensitised recipients without DSA (SwoDSA) and 53 non‐sensitised (NS). The average waiting time prior to delisting was 4.4 ± 1.8 years, with a reduction in cPRA from 99.7 ± 0.5 to 98.1 ± 0.7, followed by transplantation within 7.2 ± 8.0 months (analysed in 34 patients). Rejection rates were similar among preDSA, SwoDSA, and NS groups (16%, 8%, and 11%, respectively; p = 0.46). However, aAMR was higher in the preDSA group (12%, 4%, and 2%, respectively; p = 0.073), only presented in recipients with DSA of MFI >5000. The highest MFI DSA were against HLA‐DP (Median: 10796 MFI), with 50% of preDSA aAMR cases due to anti‐DP antibodies (n = 3). Graft survival rates at 1 and 5 years in preDSA group were 94%, and 67%, comparable to SwoDSA (94%, and 70%; p = 0.69), being significantly higher in the NS group (p = 0.002). The five‐year recipient survival rate was 89%, comparable to SwoDSA and NS groups (p = 0.79). A delisting strategy enables safe kidney transplant in highly sensitised patients with preDSA, with a slight increase in aAMR and comparable graft and patient survivals to non‐DSA cohorts. To achieve Germany's 2045 goal of climate‐neutral building stock, the integration of renewable energies in retrofitting is necessary. The project 'CO2‐neutrales Welterbe Speicherstadt Hamburg' situated in the historic warehouse district, focuses on the sustainable heat supply in listed buildings. The project consists of two main approaches: a practical approach combining historically sensitive components for heat supply to create a comprehensive energy retrofitting concept with renewable energies in the listed area, and a methodological approach using Building Information Management (BIM) to integrate various simulation models and centralize outcomes efficiently. This enables a holistic and energy‐efficient retrofit, addressing flow‐specific, thermal, and ecological aspects, thereby marking a significant step toward achieving a CO2 neutral listed building stock. This article proposes a modified reading of Thomas Elsaesser's theories of cinephilia, taking into account the new viewing practices established by the rise of online media streaming. Elsaesser characterised early film culture (labelled as 'take one') as rooted in celluloid and marked by a longing to view films that were not always easily available. By contrast, his characterisation of the later 'take two' era is one in which each new distribution technology (television, VHS, and so on) promises greater abundance and convenience, to the point where this new generation of cinephiles – in response to the widespread success of DVD – were perceived as having to deal with the 'anachronisms generated by total availability'. Amanda D. Lotz argues that streaming services appear to provide an extension of the 'take two' ideal, offering assurances of ' availability (on-demand libraries with many choices) and reliability (you don't have to watch it now or it's gone)'. I suggest, however, that the underlying impermanence of streaming has prompted fears related to both access and ownership, marking a break from the expectations surrounding the DVD (as well as its successors Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD). The impact of content migration – fracturing access between a greater number of paid platforms – and particularly content delisting – the outright removal of access to a given text – can place certain works in a form of limbo. This article proposes the dawn of a new generation of cinephilia – a potential take three – marked by a newfound concern of ephemerality, albeit much more potential and localised than the widespread unavailability of the take one era. In essence, then, take three wrestles with the anachronisms of loss in a media landscape that, in many other ways, offers unprecedented levels of access to film and television content. We test the comparative ability of representative machine-learning algorithms – Logistic Regression, Random Forest Classifier, Adaboost Classifier and Multi-Layer Perceptron Classifier – to predict the likelihood that an acquirer will be forcibly delisted for performance reasons after the close of a deal. We find that the Multi-Layer Perceptron Classifier, Adaboost and Random Forest have similar performance in terms of performance but the Logistic Regression is the poorest performing among the models we study. For feature importance, the results suggest that firm size, leverage, and profitability are the most informative features for the models in predicting the likelihood of performance-induced delisting. Deal-related characteristics and agency problems do not drive performance-induced involuntary delisting of acquirers. The results taken together suggest that acquirers delisted within five years post-merger for performance-induced reasons were already poor-performing firms pre-merger, their state likely worsened by undertaking a merger they were originally not supposed to undertake. This study is designed to assess the empirical impact of increased profitability, leverage, and carbon emission disclosure on the scale of sustainability reporting. A quantitative method was chosen as the primary approach, relying on secondary data as a source of information. Observations were conducted on manufacturing entities listed in the Sharia Securities List in Indonesia and Malaysia during the period from 2021 to 2023, using purposive sampling techniques resulting in a sample of 105 companies. Descriptive and verificative statistical methods were employed for data analysis, including panel data regression using fixed effects models. Eviews 12 software was adopted as the analytical tool. The empirical findings of this research indicate that increased profitability and carbon emission disclosure significantly contribute to the expansion of sustainability reporting disclosure. This paper investigates the relationship between CEO age and firm innovation measured as innovation productivity (i.e., the number of patent applications) and innovation scope (i.e., technological proximity). Using a sample of 8589 firm-years that eliminate differences in characteristics between firms with young CEOs versus old CEOs, listed in the Korean stock markets for the sample period of 2002–2016, we document that a firm's innovation productivity or innovation scope decreases in CEO age. We also report that younger CEOs in IT firms are more likely to participate in firm innovation than those in non-IT firms. Our main results are robust in Tobit, Poisson, and negative binomial regressions and in specification of CEO-fixed effect models. We also find same results in further analyses considering CEO tenure, firm age, and CEO overconfidence. Taken together, younger CEOs in IT firms may be more motivated to signal their innovativeness to the CEO market to be regarded as outstanding innovators or adventurous innovators, which supports managerial signaling hypothesis for young CEOs. The chief human resource officer (CHRO) role elevates people-related matters to the apex of the firm. Why do some companies' leading management teams place so much emphasis on human resources while others do not? The present study argues that CHROs' presence in the C-suite is driven by firms' imitation of industry peers' leadership structures as a response to uncertainty. The investigation also sheds light on the moderating role of environmental factors that can influence mimetic isomorphism in HR leadership. Through a longitudinal analysis of large listed firms between 2006 and 2020, the study shows a positive relationship between the prevalence of the CHRO position among firms' peers and a focal firm having a CHRO in its top management. The results demonstrate that certain types of uncertainty serve as boundary conditions for such copying actions: Industry growth strengthens mimicking behavior while industry dynamism weakens it. There is no clear evidence for the moderating role of industry competition. The findings contribute a neo-institutional view of human resource structures in the top management and strengthen the bond between the strategy and human resource literature. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Drawing upon institutional theory, we investigate how companies react to coercive pressures which impose anti-corruption disclosure practices. We adopt the concept of change in the institutionalized field and investigate the impact of the natural experiment of the Non-Financial Reporting Directive (NFRD) implementation on a company's choice for disclosing its anti-corruption policy. We examine the relationship between firm linkages with the external environment, proxied by board independence and ownership dispersion, and anti-corruption disclosure. We use a sample of 72 companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange over the period of 2015–2019 that were subject to the NFRD legislation. The evidence from the Tobit model shows that the linkages with the external environment differentiate company reactions to the implementation of the mandatory reporting legislation. In particular, greater company linkages via interdependent directors and ownership dispersion increase the scope of the anti-corruption disclosure in the post-NFRD period. Our study offers policy implications suggesting that corporate scrutiny and exposure to external constituencies may improve implementation of legislation into company practice and enhance anti-corruption disclosure. The purpose of this study is to ascertain how the food and beverage industry companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) are affected by return on assets, debt-to-equity ratios, and current ratios. The Multiple Linear Regression technique and Purposive Sampling of 23 companies over a 5-year research period are applied to secondary data. The SPSS software, version 29, was used to conduct this investigation. They discovered that stock prices are negatively impacted by ROA and CR but not by DER. Given a connected graph G = (V , E) , with n ≔ | V | vertices and m ≔ | E | edges, a cut can be represented as a bipartition { S , S ¯ } of the vertices or as the set of those edges in E having one endpoint in S and the other in S ¯ , denoted by δ G (S , S ¯). A cut is minimal, or also called bond , if and only if the two induced subgraphs obtained by removing the edges in the cut are both connected. When the bond separates two given vertices s and t , we talk about s , t - bond. In this work, we consider the problems of listing all the bonds and listing all the s , t -bonds in a graph. These fundamental problems find application in many research areas, such as, beyond graph theory, network reliability, bioinformatics, and chemistry. The state-of-the-art algorithm exploits binary partition to output each s , t -bond in O (m) per bond, being thus classified as an O (m) -delay algorithm. Here we present two new algorithms to address these problems. The first one implements a slightly different branching strategy than the state of the art, though achieving the same complexity. Anyway, we can improve it by relying on dynamic data structures and amortized analysis, obtaining an algorithm that outputs a new bond in O ˜ (n). By assuming only the two bond-shores are output for every bond, this is the first output-linear algorithm listing bonds. In case we commit to explicitly providing the entire edge-set of every bond, the delay becomes O ˜ (n) + | δ G (S , S ¯) |. • We study the problem of listing all minimal cuts (or bonds) in a graph. • We exploit a different branching strategy than Tsukiyama et al.
