This paper is the second installment of our in-depth study on the braid index problem of pretzel links. We classify pretzel links into three categories based on the Seifert circle decompositions in their standard link diagrams. In our initial paper, we successfully identified the braid indices for all Type 1 and Type 2 pretzel links. In this paper, we share our findings on Type 3 pretzel links. We are able to determine the exact braid indices for most Type 3 pretzel links. For the small subset of Type 3 pretzel links where exact braid indices remain undetermined, we establish their braid indices within a range of two consecutive integers. With some numerical evidence, we conjecture that in such an exceptional case, the braid index of the Type 3 pretzel link is given by the larger of the two consecutive integers given by our formulas. In this paper and its sequel, we study the braid indices for all non-alternating pretzel links by a systematic approach. Pretzel links can be divided into three types according to the Seifert circle decompositions of their standard link diagrams. In this paper, we present our results on Type 1 and Type 2 pretzel links, namely the complete formulation of the braid indices for all non-alternating Type 1 and Type 2 pretzel links. Matrix-valued holomorphic quantum modular forms are intricate objects associated to 3-manifolds (in particular to knot complements) that arise in successive refinements of the volume conjecture of knots and involve three holomorphic, asymptotic and arithmetic realizations. It is expected that the algebraic properties of these objects can be deduced from the algebraic properties of descendant state integrals, and we illustrate this for the case of the (- 2 , 3 , 7) -pretzel knot. During university education, students experience a new environment and need to adapt to new ways of relating to their families and peers. This period involves changes in early adulthood, which can affect mental health. Due to COVID-19, students' activities had to adopt virtual formats. In this context, the present study explored the association of depression and school connectedness in university students from a public university in Guatemala. A total of 494 students from different careers participated. Participants completed an adapted version of the subscale of the "What it is Happening in the School (WHITS)" instrument. For depression, we used the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ9) and a demographic questionnaire. Analyses through a simple linear regression resulted in a significant model: F (1, 49) = 79.10, p < .001, R² 13 %, with an equation Y = β0 (17.53) + β1 (-0.32) X. We study factorizations of HOMFLY polynomials of certain prime knots and oriented links. We begin with a computer analysis of prime knots with at most 12 crossings, finding 17 non-trivial factorizations. The device was invented to sense the variations in the deployed Environment, which takes different dimensions in its functionality. The basic operation does not change; it is the same surveillance, gathering and alert. Human intervention in all places is not possible and efficient monitoring in all circumstances cannot be done manually. We introduce a quandle version of the normalized (twisted) Alexander polynomial, which is an invariant of a pair of an oriented link and a quandle representation. The invariant can be constructed by fixing each Alexander pair, and we find various invariants in our framework, which include the quandle cocycle invariant and the normalized (twisted) Alexander polynomial of a knot. In this paper, we develop the theory of normalization with row and column relations of matrices. The theory works for several row and column relations, although the twisted Alexander polynomial is defined with one column relation. We give a formula of our invariant for the mirror image of an oriented link, which explains why the Alexander polynomial fails to detect the chirality of knots and why the quandle cocycle invariant effectively detects it from a unified point of view. Psychoanalytic theory and practice consider both transference and countertransference as cornerstones for understanding those complicated psychological phenomena which psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy bring to light. The relationship between a patient and a psychoanalyst has been the crucial point on which our attention and interest is focused. In the intersubjective space of psychoanalytic psychotherapy, all interactions between the patient and the analyst are considered to mutually influence each participant of the analytic dyad. Together with patients, clinicians get involved in ambiguous, uncanny and unavoidable enactments. The understanding of the latter requires from a psychoanalyst not only to contain the patient's anxiety and reflect on the patient's inner feelings but also to stay open to the gamut of feelings, anxieties and conflicts that arise from the professional's experience. I suggest that accomplishing the complicated task of understanding both the patient's and his own feelings and experience leads the analyst to the necessity of restoring links with himself. By means of clinical material, I make an attempt to show how the process of understanding an uncanny enactment becomes for the therapist a process of restoring the links in countertransference which, in turn, enables the therapist to interpret the patient's specific difficulties. In recent years, the search for an effective software traceability approach has become a significant challenge. Software developers must validate whether each requirement statement has been implemented in the source code. However, less attention has been paid to incorporating semantic, syntactic/structural, and physical information for more accurate traceability. This paper presents an adaptation of the Property Listing Task, which was previously used in cognitive research, to model the traceability between requirements and coding artifacts. The proposed SeFea-Trace Conceptual Model (STCM) is presented using mathematical notations and a metamodel to bridge concepts and practical implementations. We demonstrate the use of the STCM in two case studies and discuss the challenges faced by researchers using our proposed approach. We expect that our proposed model will be applicable to trace software projects with limited artifacts, i.e., requirements statements and implementation files, and will maintain accurate trace links.

Nowadays, many new questions arise regarding the creation and setting of goals for a sustainable circular economy. The study focused on exploring the connections between the concepts of circularity and sustainability in the circular economy. Sustainability aspects integrated into long-term circular economy processes have a clear impact on the environment, the economy and political decisions. The study examines the factors that contribute to and influence the formation of the circular economy and reveals the connection between circularity and sustainability. After reviewing the literature on the links between circularity and sustainability, the theoretical methods that are most often applied to examine aspects of circularity and sustainability have been identified and reviewed. It was also conducted by bibliometric analysis for 2021-2023 which helps to identify current trends and found that the number of studies analysed included five groups which show that the studies are focused on impact, production, end, review and value. The results of the bibliometric analysis show that circularity has links with supply chain, sustainability, material circularity, efficiency and value. The authors have presented research by topic because knowledge is needed to fill existing gaps.

Although eccentrically braced frames (EBFs) can be used with different configurations according to architectural requirements, it has not yet been indicated which configuration has a better seismic performance; therefore, this paper presents an analytical study focused on evaluating the seismic behavior of various steel buildings with EBF systems, factoring in different configurations. Furthermore, the objective is to compare the performances of EBF systems with one another, to learn more about their structural efficiency. The results obtained indicate that seismic response, in terms of peak interstory drifts, depends on the structural period and hysteretic behavior of the links, because high levels of plastic rotation increase lateral displacement. In addition, it was observed that maximum drift demands are concentrated in the lower floors where the links exhibit inelastic behavior, while the level of interstory drift decreases as height increases. In this work, we find a closed form formula for the braid index of an n -bridge braid, a class of positive braid knots which simultaneously generalizes torus knots, 1-bridge braids, and twisted torus knots. Our proof is elementary, effective, and self-contained, and partially recovers work of Birman–Kofman. We propose a new non-commutative generalization of the representation variety and the character variety of a knot group. Our strategy is to reformulate the construction of the algebra of functions on the space of representations in terms of Hopf algebra objects in a braided category (braided Hopf algebra). The construction works under the assumption that the algebra is braided commutative. The resulting knot invariant is a module with a coadjoint action. Taking the coinvariants yields a new quantum character variety that may be thought of as an alternative to the skein module. We give concrete examples for a few of the simplest knots and links. We introduce new topological quantum invariants, surface link quantum invariants, of compact oriented 3-manifolds with boundary where the boundary is a disjoint union of two identical surfaces. The invariants are constructed by using virtual knots and links.These invariants are new, nontrivial, and calculable examples of quantum invariants of 3-manifolds with non-vacuous boundary.Our new invariants, surface link quantum invariants, give new invariants of classical knots and links, i.e., knots and links in the 3-sphere. The structural transformation of Silica system under compression at glass transition temperature (1475 K) investigated by molecular dynamics method. The structural features such as pair radial distribution function, coordination number, linkage and cluster distribution analyzed systematically. The tetrahedral coordination (SiO4) maintained up to pressure of 5 GPa. Under compression, the structure tends to transit gradually from tetrahedral- to octahedral- coordination (SiO6) via pentahedral ones (SiO5). At pressure beyond 30 GPa, most of Si cation have octahedral coordination. The structural transitions at high-temperature models (1475 K) occurred at pressure higher than that at low temperature ones (500 K). In the 10–20 GPa range, the structure of model consisted of two large clusters of SiO5 and SiO6 revealing the structural homogeneity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The COVID 19 pandemic (2020 and 2021) in Argentina meant, as in other parts of the world, the suspension of school attendance, implying the alteration of schooling assumptions (Terigi, 2010) transforming times and spaces of school education or what it has been called the expansion of the transmission context (Graizer and Acosta, 2022). This resulted in two large groups of actions: on the one hand, those aimed at maintaining the bond with students and on the other, those aimed at creating the conditions for pedagogical continuity. The article addresses the following questions: how were secondary schools reorganized to sustain the link with students? What challenges did it imply to guarantee pedagogical continuity for the different institutional actors? From an analysis of regulations, official and institutional documents, and interviews with inspectors, directors, teachers, and students of five schools in a district in the interior of the province of Buenos Aires, different moments of the characteristics of the link are described, and advances on an exercise reflective understanding some interpretations and translations (Ball in Avelar, 2016) that assumed the sanctioned policies under the imperative of pedagogical continuity, posing different meanings and challenges to the maintenance of school ties. Abstract In this paper, the complex dynamical networks (CDNs) with dynamic connections are regarded as an interconnected systems composed of intercoupling links’ subsystem (LS) and nodes’ subsystem (NS). Different from the previous researches on structural balance control of CDNs, the directed CDNs’ structural balance problem is solved. Considering the state of links cannot be measured accurately in practice, we can control the nodes’ state and enforce the weights of links to satisfy the conditions of structural balance via effective coupling. To achieve this aim, a coupling strategy between a predetermined matrix of the structural balance and a reference tracking target of NS is established by the correlative control method. Here, the controller in NS is used to track the reference tracking target, and indirectly let LS track the predetermined matrix and reach a structural balance by the effective coupling for directed and undirected networks. Finally, numerical simulations are presented to verify the theoretical results.

We provide relevant math and detailed sewing instructions for constructing a toroidal scarf that reverses three ways and whose design uses the unique inversion properties of a particular torus geometry and particular 3-component link. Introduction: The critical period of early motherhood when facing serious health problems constitutes a major public health issue. The disease may interfere with, influence, and compound the diffculties experienced over the course of pregnancy and during the parenthood processes. These processes are to be understood as a passage involving so many changes and fraught with diffculties leading to a series of psychological mobilizations. Illness also needs to be considered as a moment of transition, sometimes of severance, marking the lives of the people concerned in a more or less lasting way. Various developments are possible, some of which can be envisaged as leading to more positive outcomes, while others appear as if blocked or doomed to failure. Clinical data and method: This clinical study is the result of twelve analytically oriented psychotherapeutic follow-ups. The sessions took place weekly over periods ranging from 1 to 6 years. Some of the patients we met had become pregnant while they had a declared but not yet chronic nephropathy. The other patients were already on dialysis and had become mother before starting dialysis. There is also one instance of a pregnant patient on dialysis. In the background, there are also many women who talked about giving up fertility and motherhood. After an in-depth study of each follow-up, a cross-sectional study was conducted to identify the main themes. Results and discussion: Main considerations on the psychotherapeutic treatment: We regularly observe people who find it impossible to muster the internal resources that would enable them to deal with the trials they undergo in such situations. For the psychologist, there is a need to listen to archaic remnants. Gradually, in the space of psychotherapeutic work, possibilities of “reanimation” of the psyche emerge, an internal space that renews fantasmatic activity as it begins to be able to project into the external space and into the space of the sessions. We study Kauffman's model of folded ribbon knots: knots made of a thin strip of paper folded flat in the plane. The folded ribbonlength is the length to width ratio of such a folded ribbon knot. The folded ribbon knot is also a framed knot, and the ribbon linking number is the linking number of the knot and one boundary component of the ribbon. We find the minimum folded ribbonlength for 3 -stick unknots with ribbon linking numbers ± 1 and ± 3 , and we prove that the minimum folded ribbonlength for n -gons with obtuse interior angles is achieved when the n -gon is regular. Among other results, we prove that the minimum folded ribbonlength of any folded ribbon unknot which is a topological annulus with ribbon linking number ± n is bounded from above by 2 n. In this paper, we investigate representations of links that are either centrally symmetric in R3 or antipodally symmetric in S3. By using the notions of antipodally self-dual and antipodally symmetric maps, introduced and studied by the authors in [L. Montejano, J. L. Ramírez Alfonsín, and I. Rasskin, SIAM J. Discrete Math., 36 (2022), pp. 1551-1566], we are able to present sufficient combinatorial conditions for a link L to admit such representations. The latter naturally provide sufficient conditions for L to be amphichiral. We also introduce another (closely related) method yielding again sufficient conditions for L to be amphichiral. We finally prove that a link L, associated to a map G, is amphichiral if the self-dual pairing of G is not one of 6 specific cases among the classification of the 24 self-dual pairing Cor(G)⊳Aut(G). Purpose - The purpose of the article is to analyse the importance of relations and trust in business-science cooperation. Moreover, the aim is to verify the impact of close business-science relations on the innovativeness of the national economy. Research method - Literature studies, surveys, FGI (Focus Group Interview) Results - The research confirms the high importance of relations and relationship management in the development of business-science cooperation. Companies that assess cooperation with science as valuable and significant to innovation, also indicate a high level of mutual relations and related fluidity in the exchange of knowledge. On the other hand, weak relations and low levels of trust often lead to problems in the implementation of joint projects, and, as a result, in the development of innovation. Originality / value / implications / recommendations - The processes of relationship development and trust-building are as important in business-science cooperation as the carefully conducted technology transfer. Thus, companies and scientific units engaged in mutual cooperation should pay attention to both of these factors. In macroeconomic terms, the level of relations between representatives of business and science affects the number of innovations created by a given economy. As climate change increases the probability and severity of natural hazards, the need for coordinated adaptation at all levels of society intensifies. Governmental‐level adaptation measures are essential, but insufficient in the face of growing risks, necessitating complementary action from households. Apprehending the drivers of household adaptation is critical if governments are to stimulate protective behavior effectively. While past work has focused on the behavioral drivers of household adaptation, little attention has been paid to understanding the relationships between adaptation measures themselves—both previously undergone and additionally (planned) intended adaptation(s). Using survey data (N = 4,688) from four countries—the United States, China, Indonesia, and the Netherlands—we utilize protection motivation theory to account for the behavioral drivers of household adaptation to the most devastating climate‐driven hazard: flooding. We analyze how past and additionally intended adaptations involving structural modification to one's home affect household behavior. We find that both prior adaptations and additionally intended adaptation have a positive effect on intending a specific adaptation. Further, we note that once links between adaptations are accounted for, the effect that worry has on motivating specific actions, substantially lessens. This suggests that while threat appraisal is important in initially determining if households intend to adapt, it is households' adaptive capacity that determines how. Our analysis reveals that household structural modifications may be nonmarginal. This could indicate that past action and intention to pursue one action trigger intentions for other adaptations, a finding with implications for estimating the speed and scope of household adaptation diffusion. Measuring the entanglement complexity of collections of open curves in 3-space has been an intractable, yet pressing mathematical problem, relevant to a plethora of physical systems, such as in polymers and biopolymers. In this manuscript, we give a novel definition of the Jones polynomial that generalizes the classic Jones polynomial to collections of open curves in 3-space. More precisely, first we provide a novel definition of the Jones polynomial of linkoids (open link diagrams) and show that this is a well-defined single variable polynomial that is a topological invariant, which, for link-type linkoids, coincides with that of the corresponding link. Using the framework introduced in (Panagiotou E, Kauffman L. 2020 Proc. R. Soc. A476, 20200124. ((doi:10.1098/rspa.2020.0124)), this enables us to define the Jones polynomial of collections of open and closed curves in 3-space. For collections of open curves in 3-space, the Jones polynomial has real coefficients and it is a continuous function of the curves' coordinates. As the endpoints of the curves tend to coincide, the Jones polynomial tends to that of the resultant link. We demonstrate with numerical examples that the novel Jones polynomial enables us to characterize the topological/geometrical complexity of collections of open curves in 3-space for the first time.
