Human survival is facilitated by medicinal herbs with their unique properties but it shows variation in their properties due to climate change and has a significant influence in production. Thus, this study was objectively conducted to assess the impact of climate change and the trend of production on Ophiocardyceps Sinensis, Agarcus Bisporu, Fritillaria cirrhosu, and Paris polyphylla in the Far-Western Himalayan region of Nepal. The research was based on qualitative and quantitative approaches with data analyzed using Microsoft EXCEL. The minimum and maximum temperature was in increasing trend at an average of -0.0193°C and 0.038°C where precipitation was in decreasing trend at an average of 10.88mm from 1999-2021. The total record of ANCA and DFO, the highest production of Ophiocordyceps scinensis was 1056kg in 2021 and the production of 327kg in 2020 was lowest ever recorded in ANCA. In 2018, the production of Paris polyphylla was the highest i.e., 8992kg, and 1,630 kg in 2016 was the lowest ever recorded. Apart from this, 7,196kg was the highest production of Fritillatia cirrhosu in 2018, and the lowest production was recorded 40kg in 2016. The highest production of Agarcus bisporus was 6,857kg in 2018 and only 645kg production in 2017 was recorded lowest. In 2017 Agarcus bisporus, Ophiocordyceps scinensis, in 2018 Ophiocordyceps scinensis, in 2019 Fritillatia cirrhosu, Agarcus bisporus, Ophiocordyceps scinensis, in 2020 Fritillatia cirrhosu, Ophiocordyceps scinensis in 2021 Fritillatia cirrhosu, and no species production in 2015, 2016 in DFO record. In contrast, people's response and recorded data in DFO and ANCA shows the negative impact of climate change on medicinal herbs in Darchula. Peer-reviewed journal publication is the main means for academic researchers in the life sciences to create a permanent public record of their work. These publications are also the de facto currency for career progress, with a strong link between journal brand recognition and perceived value. The current peer-review process can lead to long delays between submission and publication, with cycles of rejection, revision, and resubmission causing redundant peer review. This situation creates unique challenges for early career researchers (ECRs), who rely heavily on timely publication of their work to gain recognition for their efforts. Today, ECRs face a changing academic landscape, including the increased interdisciplinarity of life sciences research, expansion of the researcher population, and consequent shifts in employer and funding demands. The publication of preprints, publicly available scientific manuscripts posted on dedicated preprint servers prior to journal-managed peer review, can play a key role in addressing these ECR challenges. Preprinting benefits include rapid dissemination of academic work, open access, establishing priority or concurrence, receiving feedback, and facilitating collaborations. Although there is a growing appreciation for and adoption of preprints, a minority of all articles in life sciences and medicine are preprinted. The current low rate of preprint submissions in life sciences and ECR concerns regarding preprinting need to be addressed. We provide a perspective from an interdisciplinary group of ECRs on the value of preprints and advocate their wide adoption to advance knowledge and facilitate career development. There is evidence of a geographical imbalance of reviewers, leading to concerns about the sustainability of peer review to ensure high‐quality, timely publications. This research evaluated articles submitted during 2016 to 149 Wiley‐owned journals in two disciplines: medicine (112 journals), and agricultural and biological sciences (37). We compared the reviewer location with the location of the author and the Editor‐in‐Chief, the size and rank of the journal, and whether the journal had difficulty in obtaining reviews. We found that reviewers mostly came from the USA, but there was a correlation between the reviewer location and the country and region of the Editor‐in‐Chief and that of the corresponding author. Reviewers were also more likely to accept invitations to review articles when the corresponding author was from their region and were more likely to be positive about such articles. We found no difference between journals of different disciplines and of different rank or size or difficulty in obtaining reviews. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study analyzes the current state of gold Open Access (OA) in India based on papers published in the Web of Science indexed journals. It specifically focuses on research output published in OA journals and examines the difference between gold OA and general research output for papers authored by Indian researchers. In order to analyze the Indian contribution of gold OA literature and compares with other countries, Web of Science™-Core Collection was used. There is an increasing trend of contributing research papers in OA journals by Indian researchers. Among the top 20 publishing countries India ranks 10th place in terms of the general research output, but secures 8th place in terms of gold OA papers. However, India's position in terms of share of gold OA publications is relatively higher than other leading countries of the world. Researchers in India mostly prefer to contribute their gold OA papers in Indian journals rather foreign journals and the proportion of gold OA research output in Clinical, Preclinical, Health, Life Sciences and Physicals Sciences is much higher than other disciplines such as Arts & Humanities and Social Sciences. Since most of the research output in India is published in local journals, the study suggests further analyses of publications which are not published in Web of Science indexed journals. This article analyzes shares and rankings of Russian bioscience publications and journals in international bibliometric databases. Studying scholarly output, international collaboration, and the share of Russian papers both in national and international journals enables the authors to highlight the current state of biological science and journals in Russia and outline some pronounced trends. A comparative analysis with the leading countries confirms good representation of Russian bioscience journals among other international serials. Certain problems remain unsolved, however: low impact factors, overrepresentation of national papers, and poor online services. large and growing network ('cloud') of interlinked terms and records of items of Systems Biology knowledge is available from the web. These items include pathways, reactions, substances, literature references, organisms, and anatomy, all described in different data sets. Here, we discuss how the knowledge from the cloud can be molded into representations (views) useful for data visualization and modeling. We discuss methods to create and use various views relevant for visualization, modeling, and model annotations, while hiding irrelevant details without unacceptable loss or distortion. We show that views are compatible with understanding substances and processes as sets of microscopic compounds and events respectively, which allows the representation of specializations and generalizations as subsets and supersets respectively. We explain how these methods can be implemented based on the bridging ontology Systems Biological Pathway Exchange (SBPAX) in the Systems Biology Linker (SyBiL) we have developed. The consolidation of scientific knowledge proceeds through the interpretation and then distillation of data presented in research reports, first in review articles and then in textbooks and undergraduate courses, until truths become accepted as such both amongst ''experts'' and in the public understanding. Where data are collected but remain unpublished, they cannot contribute to this distillation of knowledge. If these unpublished data differ substantially from published work, conclusions may not reflect adequately the underlying biological effects being described. The existence and any impact of such ''publication bias'' in the laboratory sciences have not been described. Using the CAMARADES (Collaborative Approach to Meta-analysis and Review of Animal Data in Experimental Studies) database we identified 16 systematic reviews of interventions tested in animal studies of acute ischaemic stroke involving 525 unique publications. Only ten publications (2%) reported no significant effects on infarct volume and only six (1.2%) did not report at least one significant finding. Egger regression and trim-and-fill analysis suggested that publication bias was highly prevalent (present in the literature for 16 and ten interventions, respectively) in animal studies modelling stroke. Trim-and-fill analysis suggested that publication bias might account for around one-third of the efficacy reported in systematic reviews, with reported efficacy falling from 31.3% to 23.8% after adjustment for publication bias. We estimate that a further 214 experiments (in addition to the 1,359 identified through rigorous systematic review; non publication rate 14%) have been conducted but not reported. It is probable that publication bias has an important impact in other animal disease models, and more broadly in the life sciences. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study examined the 130 current full-text titles in the BioOne.1 and BioOne.2 collections to determine whether they are peer-reviewed, contain book reviews, and are supplied by document delivery vendors. We identified indexing coverage in 11 major databases in agriculture and life sciences: Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Abstracts (ASFA), AGRICOLA, Biological Abstracts, BIOSIS Previews, CAB Abstracts, Current Contents, Environmental Sciences and Pollution Abstracts, GeoRef, Scopus, ISI Web of Science, and Zoological Record. We concluded that the majority of the titles in BioOne collections are refereed and scholarly, indexed in several of the major indexing and abstracting journals in the field of agriculture and life sciences, and available via several major document delivery vendors.
