The aim of this paper was to explore the perception of public information officers (PIOs) toward the Punjab Transparency and Right to Information Act, 2013. For the said purpose the researchers explored: (a) perception of PIOs toward usefillness of the Punjab Transparency and Right to Information Act, 2013; (b) level of satisfaction of public information officers toward implementation of this Act; and (c) perception of PIOs toward constraints in implementation of the Punjab Transparency and Right to Information Act, 2013. The paper used quantitative approach and questionnaire was source of data collection. All (350) public information officers designated in the Lahore district were the targeted sample of this study. Response rate was 63٠/o (221/350). The study established that public information officers (PIOs) perceived the Punjab Transparency and Right to Information Act as a useful tool for transparency, openness, and good governance in public fonctionaries. The study found low level of satisfaction of public irrformation officers toward the implementation of this Act in Punjab, Pakistan. The study highlighted that the key constraint in implementation of PTRIA, 2013 was unawareness about the RTI Act among citizens. The study also found that usefolness of the Freedom of Information Act and satisfaction toward implementation of this Act is diverged with different salary scales of public information officers.
