The extraplanar diffuse ionized gas (eDIG) represents ionized gases traced by optical/UV lines beyond the stellar extent of galaxies. We herein introduce a novel multislit narrow-band spectroscopy method to conduct spatially resolved spectroscopy of the eDIG around a sample of nearby edge-on disk galaxies (eDIG-CHANGES). In this paper, we introduce the project design and major scientific goals, as well as a pilot study of NGC 3556 (M108). The eDIG is detected to a vertical extent of a few kiloparsecs above the disk, comparable to the X-ray and radio images. We do not see significant vertical variation of the [N ii ]/H α line ratio. A rough examination of the pressure balance between different circumgalactic medium phases indicates the magnetic field is in a rough pressure balance with the X-ray emitting hot gas and may play an important role in the global motion of both the eDIG and the hot gas in the lower halo. At the location of an Hubble Space Telescope/Cosmic Origins Spectrograph observed UV bright background active galactic nucleus ∼29 kpc from the center of NGC 3556, the magnetic pressure is much lower than that of the hot gas and the ionized gas traced by UV absorption lines, although the extrapolation of the pressure profiles may cause some biases in this comparison. By comparing the position–velocity diagrams of the optical and CO lines, we also find the dynamics of the two gas phases are consistent with each other, with no evidence of a global inflow/outflow and a maximum rotation velocity of ∼150 km s−1. The sign of the speed of bistable traveling wave solution is an important focus in the field of population dynamics, since it can be used to predict which species will win the competition and ultimately survive. In this paper, the sign of bistable wave speed of a plankton model with cubic nonlinearity is studied. By a delicate analysis, a sufficient condition for bistable wave to be stationary is first obtained. Symmetric and multiplication properties for stationary bistable wave are established. By upper-lower solution method and comparison principle, two sufficient conditions are found so that the bistable wave speed is negative or positive. Due to containing an abundance of essential nutrients, straw has significant potential to mitigate carbon (C), nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) deficits in soil. However, a lack of comprehensive and systematic reviews on C, N, P, and K release and conversion from straw and on the impact of available nutrients in soils supplemented using straw-returning (SR) practices is noticeable in the literature. Therefore, we investigated straw decomposition, its nutrient release characteristics, and the subsequent fate of nutrients in soils. At early stages, straw decomposes rapidly and then gradually slows down at later stages. Nutrient release rates are generally in the K > P > C > N order. Nutrient fate encompasses fractions mineralized to inorganic nutrients, portions which supplement soil organic matter (SOM) pools, and other portions which are lost via leaching and gas volatilization. In future research, efforts should be made to quantitatively track straw nutrient release and fate and also examine the potential impact of coordinated supply-and-demand interactions between straw nutrients and plants. Molecular gas plays a critical role in explaining the quiescence of star formation (SF) in massive isolated spiral galaxies, which could be a result of either the low molecular gas content and/or the low SF efficiency. We present IRAM 30-m observations of the CO lines in the Sombrero galaxy (NGC 4594), the most massive spiral at |$d\lesssim 30\rm ~Mpc$|⁠. We detect at least one of the three CO lines covered by our observations in all 13 observed positions located at the galactic nucleus and along an |$\sim 25\rm ~kpc$| -diameter dusty ring. The total extrapolated molecular gas mass of the galaxy is |$M_{\rm H_2}\approx 4\times 10^{8}\rm ~M_\odot$|⁠. The measured maximum CO gas rotation velocity of |$\approx 381\rm ~km~s^{-1}$| suggests that NGC 4594 locates in a dark matter halo with a mass |$M_{\rm 200}\gtrsim 10^{13}\rm ~M_\odot$|⁠. Comparing to other galaxy samples, NGC 4594 is extremely gas poor and SF inactive, but the SF efficiency is apparently not inconsistent with that predicted by the Kennicutt–Schmidt law, so there is no evidence of enhanced SF quenching in this extremely massive spiral with a huge bulge. We also calculate the predicted gas supply rate from various sources to replenish the cold gas consumed in SF, and find that the galaxy must experience a starburst stage at high redshift, then the leftover or recycled gas provides SF fuels to maintain the gradual growth of the galactic disc at a gentle rate. Chalcogenide perovskites are an emerging family of perovskite materials, which possess excellent optoelectronic properties comparable with halide perovskites, avoiding the drawbacks of toxicity and poor stability. Due to the superiorities of strong light absorption, direct bandgaps, excellent carrier transport abilities, high defect tolerance, robust stability, and non‐toxicity, chalcogenide perovskites have been extensively studied as photovoltaic materials. However, the light emitting potential of chalcogenide perovskites is ignored or less explored. In this work, an Eu2+ doping strategy is proposed to activate the light emitting abilities of chalcogenide perovskite. The synthesized SrHfS3:Eu2+ powder exhibits intense red emission of Eu2+ through the relaxation of 4f65d1 to 4f75d0. The strong interband absorption of SrHfS3, as a distinct character of chalcogenide perovskite, harvests the optical energy and funnels it to the luminescent center Eu2+. Besides, SrHfS3:Eu2+ is characterized by superior semiconducting properties, suggesting its strong potential as suitable emitters in light‐emitting diodes. Moreover, the obtained SrHfS3:Eu2+ powder and its luminescence properties remain stable under ultraviolet irradiation, water, and high temperature testing. The above observations open a new frontier for exploring luminescent chalcogenide perovskites, highlighting their great potential in lighting and displays, rather than being limited to photovoltaic devices. Rapid restoration of perfusion in ischemic myocardium is the most direct and effective treatment for coronary heart disease but may cause myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury (MIRI). Cinnamaldehyde (CA, C9H8O), a key component in the well‐known Chinese medicine cinnamomum cassia, has cardioprotective effects against MIRI. This study aimed to observe the therapeutic effect of CA on MIRI and to elucidate its potential mechanism. H9C2 rat cardiomyocytes were pretreated with CA solution at 0, 10, and 100 μM, respectively and subjected to oxygen‐glucose deprivation/reoxygenation (OGD/R). Then the cell viability, the NF‐κB and caspase3 gene levels, the reduced glutathione (GSH)/oxidized glutathione (GSSG) ratio, superoxide dismutase (SOD) level, reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation, 4‐hydroxynonenal (4‐HNE), and malondialdehyde (MDA) were detected. The severity of DNA damage was assessed by tail moment (TM) values using alkaline comet assay. Besides, the DNA damage‐related proteins and the key proteins of the Nrf2 pathway were detected by western blot. CA treatment increased the cell viability, GHS/GSSG ratio, SOD level, PARP1, Nrf2, PPAR‐γ, and HO‐1 protein levels of H9C2 cardiomyocytes, while reducing NF‐κB, caspase3, ROS level, 4‐HNE and MDA content, γ‐H2AX protein level, and TM values. Inhibition of the Nrf2 pathway reversed the effect of CA on cell viability and apoptosis of OGD/R induced H9C2 cardiomyocytes. Besides, 100 μM CA was more effective than 10 μM CA. In the OGD/R‐induced H9C2 cardiomyocyte model, CA can protect cardiomyocytes from MIRI by attenuating lipid peroxidation and repairing DNA damage. Purpose: What to intake during labor is controversial. The purpose of this study was to compare the gastric emptying of high-energy semifluid solid beverage (HESSB) versus that of carbohydrate (CHO) solution of equal calories and volume by evaluating the gastric antral cross-sectional area (CSA) using ultrasonography in parturients during labor at term. Methods: The study was conducted at a maternity and infant hospital between June and October 2020. Forty parturients scheduled for epidural labor analgesia during labor at term were randomly assigned to receive HESSB (300 mL, n = 20) or CHO (300 mL, n = 20). Gastric antral CSA was measured at baseline and 5, 30, 60, 90, and 120 min after consumption of the drink. The primary outcome was gastric antral CSA at 120 min in the HESSB group and CHO group. Results: The gastric antral CSA between the HESSB group and CHO group at 120 min was not statistically significant (2.73 cm2 ± 0.55 vs. 2.55 cm2 ± 0.72, P = 0.061). All patients returned to baseline at 120 min after intake of 300 mL isocaloric HESSB and CHO, confirmed by evaluation of gastric antral CSA. The visual analog scale score for satiety was higher in the HESSB group (P < 0.001), with better taste satisfaction (7[5–8] vs. 5[4–6], P < 0.001). Conclusion: The change of gastric antral cross-sectional area after HESSB is similar to the corresponding calories and volume of CHO and the gastric emptying of HESSB can be emptied within 2 h with better taste satisfaction and satiety in pregnant women under labor analgesia. Nitrogen‐doped, carbon‐supported transition metal catalysts are excellent for several reactions. Structural engineering of M−Nx sites to boost catalytic activity is rarely studied. Here, we demonstrate that the structural flexibility of Fe−N3 site is vital for tuning the electronic structure of Fe atoms and regulating the catalytic transfer hydrogenation (CTH) activity. By introducing carbon defects, we construct Fe−N3 sites with varying Fe−N bond lengths distinguishable by X‐ray absorption spectroscopy. We investigate the CTH activity by density‐functional theory and microkinetic calculations and reveal that the vertical displacement of the Fe atom out of the plane of the support, induced by the Fe−N3 distortion, raises the Fe 3dz2 ${3{d}_{{z}^{2}}{\rm \ }}$ orbital and strengthens binding. We propose that the activity is controlled by the relaxation of the reconstructed site, which is further affected by Fe−N bond length, an excellent activity descriptor. Epoxy resins (EPs), accounting for about 70% of the thermosetting resin market, have been recognized as the most widely used thermosetting resins in the world. Nowadays, 90% of the world's EPs are obtained from the bisphenol A (BPA)-based epoxide prepolymer. However, certain limitations severely impede further applications of this advanced material, such as limited fossil-based resources, skyrocketing oil prices, nondegradability, and a "seesaw" between toughness and strength. In recent years, more and more research has been devoted to the preparation of novel epoxy materials to overcome the compromise between toughness and strength and solve plastic waste problems. Among them, the development of bio-based hyperbranched epoxy resins (HERs) is unique and attractive. Bio-based HERs synthesized from bio-derived monomers can be used as a matrix resin or a toughener resulting in partially or fully bio-based epoxy thermosets. The introduction of a hyperbranched structure can balance the strength and toughness of epoxy thermosets. Here, we especially focused on the recent progress in the development of bio-based HERs, including the monomer design, synthesis approaches, mechanical properties, degradation, and recycling strategies. In addition, we advance the challenges and perspectives to engineering application of bio-based HERs in the future. Multi-agent reinforcement learning excels at addressing group intelligent decision-making problems involving sequential decision-making. In particular, in complex, high-dimensional state and action spaces, it imposes higher demands on the reliability, stability, and adaptability of decision algorithms. The reinforcement learning algorithm based on the multi-agent deep strategy gradient incorporates a function approximation method using discriminant networks. However, this can lead to estimation errors when agents evaluate action values, thereby reducing model reliability and stability and resulting in challenging convergence. With the increasing complexity of the environment, there is a decline in the quality of experience collected by the experience playback pool, resulting in low efficiency of the sampling stage and difficulties in algorithm convergence. To address these challenges, we propose an innovative approach called the empirical clustering layer-based multi-agent dual dueling policy gradient (ECL-MAD3PG) algorithm. Experimental results demonstrate that our ECL-MAD3PG algorithm outperforms other methods in various complex environments, demonstrating a remarkable 9.1% improvement in mission completion compared to MADDPG within the context of complex UAV cooperative combat scenarios. Barium oxide is a conventional promoter for various transition‐metal (TM) catalysts in ammonia synthesis. Ba‐promoted Ru catalysts are widely used for ammonia synthesis under mild reaction conditions. However, the promotion mechanism, including the active factor, remains unclear. In this study, the excellent promotion effect of barium oxynitride is reported, which creates anionic electrons in the lattice, forming an electride (BaOxNy:e−z) with the same rocksalt structure as BaO. The BaOxNy:e−z enhances the ammonia synthesis activity of the supported Ru catalyst by 40–100 fold compared with the BaO promotor. This study reveals that a low‐work‐function electron formed in the BaO lattice plays a pivotal role in the electronic promotion effect in catalytic ammonia synthesis, suggesting that BaOxNy:e−z formed near the surface during the ammonia synthesis reaction is an active species for the promotion effect of conventional BaO. The rapid mixing of air and rocket gas is pivotal for enhancing combustion performance in the ejector mode of rocket-based combined-cycle engines. This study experimentally investigated developing characteristics of subsonic-supersonic shear layers induced by sinusoidal- and rectangular-lobed mixers using a subsonic-supersonic shear layer experimental system and an ice-cluster-based planar laser scattering technique. Both sinusoidal- and rectangular-lobed mixers evidently bolstered mixing through the promotion of transverse flow and vortex interactions. Under equivalent conditions, the sinusoidal-lobed mixer offered superior mixing effects. The mixing enhancement of a sinusoidal-lobed mixer exhibited a positive correlation with the wavelength, with excessively small wavelengths potentially impeding mixing. Based on the dimensionless wavelength ratio, a criterion was identified for evaluating the mixing enhancement of the sinusoidal-lobed mixer: a positive mixing enhancement occurred when the dimensionless wavelength ratio was at least 1. Notably, in this study, the shear layer thickness growth rate increased by 12 % when the dimensionless wavelength ratio was 1.905. With the expansion of electronic health records(EHR)-linked genomic data comes the development of machine learning-enable models. There is a pressing need to develop robust pipelines to evaluate the performance of integrated models and minimize systemic bias. We developed a prediction model of symptomatic Clostridioides difficile infection(CDI) by integrating common EHR-based and genetic risk factors(rs2227306/IL8). Our pipeline includes (1) leveraging phenotyping algorithm to minimize temporal bias, (2) performing simulation studies to determine the predictive power in samples without genetic information, (3) propensity score matching to control for the confoundings, (4) selecting machine learning algorithms to capture complex feature interactions, (5) performing oversampling to address data imbalance, and (6) optimizing models and ensuring proper bias-variance trade-off. We evaluate the performance of prediction models of CDI when including common clinical risk factors and the benefit of incorporating genetic feature(s) into the models. We emphasize the importance of building a robust integrated pipeline to avoid systemic bias and thoroughly evaluating genetic features when integrated into the prediction models in the general population and subgroups. The advent of implantable bioelectronic devices offers prospective solutions toward health monitoring and disease diagnosis and treatments. However, advances in power modules have lagged far behind the tissue-integrated sensor nodes and circuit units. Here, we report a soft implantable power system that monolithically integrates wireless energy transmission and storage modules. The energy storage unit comprises biodegradable Zn-ion hybrid supercapacitors that use molybdenum sulfide (MoS2) nanosheets as cathode, ion-crosslinked alginate gel as electrolyte, and zinc foil as anode, achieving high capacitance (93.5 mF cm-2) and output voltage (1.3 V). Systematic investigations have been conducted to elucidate the charge storage mechanism of the supercapacitor and to assess the biodegradability and biocompatibility of the materials. Furthermore, the wirelessly transmitted energy can not only supply power directly to applications but also charge supercapacitors to ensure a constant, reliable power output. Background and Aim: Increased soil salinization caused by natural or human activities is the leading cause of soil degradation. Cultivating salt-tolerant crops is an effective way to cope with soil salinity. However, the key salinity-tolerance traits and regulation mechanisms in salt-tolerant crops and the relevant ecological functions of the microbiome in the rhizosphere remain largely unexplored. Methods: The phenotypic, physiological, morphological, and molecular responses of salt-sensitive (SS 212) and salt-tolerant (ST 47) broomcorn millet (Panicum miliaceum L.) to salinity were dissected, and the composition and variation in the rhizospheric microorganisms under saline and non-saline conditions were established. Results: Salinity tolerance was achieved in ST 47 by maintaining Na+/K+ balance and intact cell surface and internal structures and regulating the expression of PmCNGC (Na+ uptake), PmNHX (Na+ sequestration), and PmSOS1 (Na+ extrusion). Moreover, the genotype mediated the differences in the rhizospheric microbial community. The ST 47 rhizosphere had a stronger and more stable fungal composition under saline conditions compared to SS 212. In addition, ST 47 reshaped the microorganisms in the rhizosphere by recruiting specific beneficial microbes, namely Haliangium, Marispirillum, RB41, and Saccharospirillum bacteria, which promote soil nutrient cycling, and Acremonium, Blastobotrys, Calostoma, Chaetomium, Chrysosporium, Fusarium, and Scytalidium fungi, which are involved in stress tolerance and resource uptake. Conclusion: The findings of this study provide an empirical basis for improving crop performance through utilizing a key salt-tolerance mechanism and soil microbial management practices for sustainable agriculture in salinized soil. The aim of this study was to prepare a novel pH-sensitive smart film based on the addition of purple garlic peel extract (PGE) and TiO2 nanoparticles in a sodium alginate (SA)/polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) matrix to monitor the freshness of beef. FT-IR spectroscopy revealed the formation of stronger interaction forces between PVA/SA, PGE, and TiO2 nanoparticles, which showed good compatibility. In addition, the addition of PGE improved the tensile strength and elongation at break of the composite film, especially in different pH environments, and the color response was obvious. The addition of 1% TiO2 nanoparticles significantly improved the mechanical properties of the film, as well as the light barrier properties of the film. PGE could effectively be uniformly dispersed into the composite film, but it also had a certain slow-release effect on the release of PGE. PGE had high sensitivity under different pH conditions with rich color changes, and the color showed a clear color change from red to yellow-green when the pH increased from 1 to 14. The same change was observed when it was added to the film. In particular, by applying this film to the process of beef preservation, we judged the freshness of beef by monitoring the changes in the TVB-N value and pH value during the storage process of beef and found that the film showed obvious color changes during the storage process of beef, from blue (indicating freshness) to red (indicating non-freshness), and finally to yellow-green (indicating deterioration), which indicated that the color change of the film and the freshness of the beef maintained a highly consistent. Background: Sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors have shown promise in reducing the risk of atrial fibrillation (AF). However, the results are controversial and the underlying metabolic mechanism remains unclear. Emerging evidence implied that SGLT2 inhibitors have extra beneficial metabolic effects on circulating metabolites beyond glucose control, which might play a role in reducing the risk of AF. Hence, our study aimed to investigate the effect of circulating metabolites mediating SGLT2 inhibition in AF by Mendelian randomization (MR). Methods: A two-sample and two-step MR study was conducted to evaluate the association of SGLT2 inhibition with AF and the mediation effects of circulating metabolites linking SGLT2 inhibition with AF. Genetic instruments for SGLT2 inhibition were identified as genetic variants, which were both associated with the expression of SLC5A2 gene and glycated hemoglobin level (HbA1c). Positive control analysis on type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) was conducted to validate the selection of genetic instruments. Results: Genetically predicted SGLT2 inhibition (per 1 SD decrement in HbA1c) was associated with reduced risk of T2DM (odds ratio [OR] = 0.63 [95% CI 0.45, 0.88], P = 0.006) and AF (0.51 [0.27, 0.97], P = 0.039). Among 168 circulating metabolites, two metabolites were both associated with SGLT2 inhibition and AF. The effect of SGLT2 inhibition on AF through the total concentration of lipoprotein particles (0.88 [0.81, 0.96], P = 0.004) and the concentration of HDL particles (0.89 [0.82, 0.97], P = 0.005), with a mediated proportion of 8.03% (95% CI [1.20%, 14.34%], P = 0.010) and 7.59% ([1.09%, 13.34%], P = 0.011) of the total effect, respectively. Conclusions: This study supported the association of SGLT2 inhibition with a reduced risk of AF. The total concentration of lipoprotein particles and particularly the concentration of HDL particles might mediate this association. Further mechanistic and clinical studies research are needed to understand the mediation effects of circulating metabolites especially blood lipids in the association between SGLT2 inhibition and AF. Protein channels on the biofilm conditionally manipulate ion transport via regulating the distribution of charge residues, making analogous processes on artificial membranes a hot spot and challenge. Here, we employ metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) membrane with charge‐adjustable subnano‐channel to selectively govern ion transport. Various valent ions are binded with crown ethers embedded in the MOF cavity, which act as charged guest to regulate the channels' charge state from the negativity to positivity. Protein channels on the biofilm conditionally manipulate ion transport via regulating the distribution of charge residues, making analogous processes on artificial membranes a hot spot and challenge. Here, we employ metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) membrane with charge‐adjustable subnano‐channel to selectively govern ion transport. Various valent ions are binded with crown ethers embedded in the MOF cavity, which act as charged guest to regulate the channels' charge state from the negativity to positivity. Autoimmune conditions have been reported among patients with cysteine-altering NOTCH3 variants and CADASIL. This study aimed to investigate the occurrence of autoimmune illnesses and markers of inflammation in such populations. Cases were identified who had a NOTCH3 cysteine-altering variant from the Geisinger MyCode® Community Health Initiative (MyCode®). We further performed external validation using the UK Biobank cohort. A cohort of 121 individuals with a NOTCH3 cysteine-altering variant from MyCode® was compared to a control group with no non-synonymous variation in NOTCH3 (n = 184). Medical records were evaluated for inflammatory markers and autoimmune conditions, which were grouped by the organ systems involved. A similar analysis was conducted using data from the UK Biobank (n~450,000). An overall increase in inflammatory markers among participants with a NOTCH3 cysteine-altering variant was observed when compared to an age- and sex-matched MyCode® control group (out of participants with laboratory testing: 50.9% versus 26.7%; p = 0.0047; out of total participants: 23.1% versus 10.9%; p = 0.004). Analysis of UK Biobank data indicated any autoimmune diagnosis (1.63 [1.14, 2.09], p= 2.665 × 10−3) and multiple sclerosis (3.42 [1.67, 6.02], p = 9.681 × 10−4) are associated with a NOTCH3 cysteine-altering variant in any domain. As the most fundamental tool to analyse associations, the semiparametric multiple linear regression model is considered in this work where the error distribution is assumed symmetric but otherwise completely unknown. To handle the common concern about possible outlying observations, especially in the era of big data, we propose a robust estimator of regression coefficients based on Hellinger distance and profiling technique. We prove in theory that the resulting estimator, minimum profile Hellinger distance estimator (MPHDE), is consistent. Its finite-sample performance is examined via both extensive simulation studies and a real data application. A fully integrated low-power area-efficient receiver using a low–intermediate frequency topology for BDS-3 and GPS L1 bands is presented in this paper. Accurate localization can be achieved without requiring off-chip low-noise amplifiers. The receiver bandwidths for GPS and BDS-3 are 2 MHz and 4 MHz, respectively. Digitally assisted calibration schemes, such as RC calibration, automatic gain control, and DC offset correction are integrated to resist the effects of the process, voltage, and temperature (PVT) variations. The receiver—fabricated in a standard 55 nm CMOS technology—provides a maximum gain of 113.2 dB, a gain control range of 61 dB, and a minimum noise figure of 1.74 dB under a 1.2 V supply. The receiver, with and without the frequency synthesizer that provides the local oscillator frequency, consumes 8.7 mA and 4.8 mA, with areas of 0.73 mm2 and 0.345 mm2, respectively. The excessive utilization of antibiotics has led to significant water contamination and posed severe threats to human well-being. Consequently, the pressing imperative to identify antibiotics in the environment arises. In this study, we have successfully synthesized a hollow PCN-222 MOF distinguished by its substantial surface area and abundant functional groups, particularly the porphyrin cores. To augment the electrical conductivity of the hollow PCN-222 (HPCN-222), gold (Au) particles were incorporated within the porphyrin core using a fundamental hydrothermal method. This modification facilitated the effective immobilization of aptamer strands through π-π stacking and electrostatic interactions. As a result, the Au@HPCN-222 composite demonstrated exceptional efficacy as a substrate for immobilizing the aptamer (Apt) onto the GCE surface. By employing differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) we successfully achieved the detection of chloramphenicol (CAP) with a remarkably low limit of detection of 0.0138 ng mL−1 and the peak DPV currents at 0.18 V (vs. Ag/AgCl) were used for calibration. Background: Lung cancer has been the leading cause of American deaths from cancer. Although Medicare started covering lung cancer screening (LCS) with low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) in 2015, the uptake of LDCT-LCS remains low. This study examines the changes in adherence to provider referrals for LDCT-LCS and the factors at patient, provider, and health system levels that influence the completion rate of LDCT-LCS orders before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: Our study examined electronic health record data (December 2013 - December 2020) from a large, community-based clinical healthcare delivery system in California. We plotted monthly trends in the frequency of LDCT-LCS orders and completion rate and compared the annual LDCT-LCS completion rate between LCS-eligible, LCS-ineligible, and unknown eligibility groups. We then explored multilevel factors associated with the completion of LDCT-LCS orders using hierarchical generalized linear models. Results: There was an increase in LDCT-LCS orders (N = 12,469) from 2013 to 2019, followed by a sharp decline in March 2020 due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thereafter, LDCT-LCS orders slowly increased again in June 2020. The completion rate of LDCT-LCS increased from 0% in December 2013 to approximately 70% in 2018–2019 but declined to 50–60% in 2020 during the pandemic. Ineligible patients had lower completion rates of LDCT-LCS. Patients who were new to the healthcare system, Black, received the LDCT-LCS order in the first few years after Medicare coverage (2016 or 2017), during the pandemic, had major comorbidities, and smoked less than 30 pack-years were less likely to complete an order. Patients were more likely to complete LDCT-LCS orders if they were younger, received the LDCT-LCS order from a physician (vs. nonphysician provider), from family medicine or other specialties (vs. internal medicine), or saw a provider with more experience in LDCT-LCS. Conclusions: The beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic largely decreased the volume of LDCT-LCS orders, but rates have since been slowing recovering. Future interventions to improve lung cancer screening should consider doing more targeted outreach to new patients and Black patients as well as providing additional education to nonphysician practitioners and those providers with lower rates of LDCT-LCS referral orders. Polymeric composites such as Poly-ether-ether-ketone (PEEK)/carbon fiber (CF) have been widely utilized due to outstanding performances such as high specific strength and specific modulus. The PEEK/CF components via powder bed fusion additive manufacturing usually show brittle fracture behaviors induced by their poor interfacial affinity and inner voids. These defects are strongly associated with powder packing quality upon deposition. The particle dynamic model has been widely employed to study the interactions of particle motions. Powder property, bulk material property, and interfacial features of composite powders are key factors in the particle dynamic model. In this work, an efficient and systematic material evaluation is developed for composite powders to investigate their deposition mechanism. The discrete element method is utilized to simulate the dynamic behaviors of PEEK/CF composite powders. The powder properties, bulk material properties, and interfacial features of powders are calibrated and justified by experimental measurement, numerical simulation, and design of experiments. The particle dynamic model can explain the powder flow behaviors and interactions. The experimental and simulation AOR results show a maximal deviation of 4.89%. It reveals that the addition of short CF particles can assist the flow of PEEK powders and improve the packing quality of the composite powders. The results show an experimental improvement of 31.3% and 55.2% for PEEK/CF_30wt% and PEEK/CF_50wt%, with a simulated improvement of 27.4% and 50.2% for corresponding composite powders. Introduction: The aim of this study was to discuss the safety of rapid administration of 4°C hypothermic normal saline into the occluded vessels using an intra-arterial catheter to induce mild hypothermia following endovascular thrombectomy in patients with acute large vessel occlusion cerebral infarction. Methods: We selected 78 patients with acute large vessel occlusion cerebral infarction who underwent endovascular thrombectomy in the Department of Neurology of our hospital from January 2020 to July 2022 and achieved TICI 2b recanalization. Result: Twenty-five patients were administered 500 mL of 4°C hypothermic normal saline in the occluded vessels at a rate of 25 mL/min to induce mild hypothermia. Twenty pairs of subjects conformed to strict matching and were finally included in the statistical analysis. The two groups of patients differed significantly in white blood cell count and percentage of neutrophils (p < 0.05); however, there were no significant differences in D-dimer, procalcitonin, and BNP levels. The two groups of patients did not differ significantly with respect to the incidence of the following indicators: upper gastrointestinal bleeding; pulmonary infection; venous thrombosis; vasospasms; seizures; and chills (p > 0.05). Conclusion: Mild therapeutic hypothermia in target vessels plus endovascular thrombectomy was shown to be safe in patients with acute large vessel occlusion cerebral infarction. The development of lightweight insulation materials has become one of the effective ways to improve the performance of solid rocket motors (SRMs). In this paper, porous structure was introduced into ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) insulation materials through rubber foaming technology to prepare lightweight insulation materials. The influence of foaming agent content and pre-curing temperature on morphology and properties of EPDM rubber foams were investigated. With the increase in pre-curing temperature, the cell size decreases significantly and the cell becomes more uniform, resulting in an increase in mechanical properties. As the foaming agent content increases, the cell density increases gradually without significant change in cell diameter. Meanwhile, the mechanical properties of insulation materials gradually decrease. EPDM rubber foams have optimum ablation resistance when the pre-curing temperature is 120 °C and the content of foaming agent is 6phr. Its charring ablation rate is 0.186 mm/s, only increasing by 16% compared with that of basic formula. On this basis, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and carbon fibers (CF) were added to reinforce EPDM rubber foams. The tensile strength of the reinforced formula increases by 36.4% compared to the foaming formula, which is 19.2% lower than that of the basic formula. Although liver transplantation (LT) is an effective therapy for cirrhosis, the risk of post-LT NASH is alarmingly high and is associated with accelerated progression to fibrosis/cirrhosis, cardiovascular disease and decreased survival. Lack of risk stratification strategies hampers early intervention against development of post-LT NASH fibrosis. The liver undergoes significant remodeling during inflammatory injury. During such remodeling, degraded peptide fragments (i.e., 'degradome') of the ECM and other proteins increase in plasma, making it a useful diagnostic/prognostic tool in chronic liver disease. To investigate whether liver injury caused by post-LT NASH would yield a unique degradome profile that is predictive of severe post-LT NASH fibrosis, a retrospective analysis of 22 biobanked samples from the Starzl Transplantation Institute (12 with post-LT NASH after 5 years and 10 without) was performed. Total plasma peptides were isolated and analyzed by 1D-LC–MS/MS analysis using a Proxeon EASY-nLC 1000 UHPLC and nanoelectrospray ionization into an Orbitrap Elite mass spectrometer. Qualitative and quantitative peptide features data were developed from MSn datasets using PEAKS Studio X (v10). LC–MS/MS yielded ~ 2700 identifiable peptide features based on the results from Peaks Studio analysis. Several peptides were significantly altered in patients that later developed fibrosis and heatmap analysis of the top 25 most significantly changed peptides, most of which were ECM-derived, clustered the 2 patient groups well. Supervised modeling of the dataset indicated that a fraction of the total peptide signal (~ 15%) could explain the differences between the groups, indicating a strong potential for representative biomarker selection. A similar degradome profile was observed when the plasma degradome patterns were compared being obesity sensitive (C57Bl6/J) and insensitive (AJ) mouse strains. The plasma degradome profile of post-LT patients yielded stark difference based on later development of post-LT NASH fibrosis. Photoanode materials typically exhibit good stability and environmentally and economically properties in solar water splitting cells, while they always suffer from the narrow light absorption range, heavy surface charge combination and sluggish surface reaction kinetics. Herein, we design an efficient and reproducible photoanode by stacking amorphous carbon spheres (CSs) and cobalt-involved carbon nitrides (Co-CNs) on surface of TiO 2 nanorod arrays. CSs work as light sensitizer for broadening the light absorption range of photoanode and promoting the utilization of solar energy, which further improved by Co-CNs partially. In addition, CSs increase the conductivity of photoanode, as a transport channel for improving the charge migration. Co-CNs introduce many active sites on surface of photoanode for facilitated solar water oxidation. The best constructed TiO 2 /CSs/Co-CNs photoanode exhibits an impressive photocurrent density of ∼1.73 mA/cm2 (at 1.23 V vs RHE). Objective: To compare the treatment effect of five electrical stimulation methods commonly used in the treatment of stroke patients with lower limb dysfunction. Methods: We implemented a systematic search of 3915 studies published up to January 2023 from eight databases and two clinical trial registries. First, two independent reviewers critically evaluated trial eligibility according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Next, they selected and extracted data. Then, they assessed the risk of bias. Pairwise meta-analysis and Bayesian network meta-analysis were conducted to estimate the effectiveness and ranking of the five electrical stimulation methods. Results: A total of 33 trials with a final total of 2246 subjects were included in the analysis. By combining the comprehensive Rehabilitation Treatment (RT), the treatment effects of using five electrical stimulation methods were surperior to those of using RT only. In the meantime, RT+transcranial Direct Current Stimulation(tDCS) and RT+Functional Electrical Stimulation(FES) could be the optimal electric stimulation schemes for restoring lower limb motor function(SMD 8.35, 95%CI [3.05, 13.34]/ SMD 5.64, 95%CI [3.68, 7.56]), improving balance (SMD 9.80, 95%CI [0.67, 20.93]/ SMD 6.54, 95%CI [3.85, 10.95]) and activities of daily living(SMD 18.95, 95%CI [0.401, 36.9]/ SMD 15.47, 95%CI [7.89, 22.75]), and the treatment effects would be even better using RT+FES+tDCS combination. Besides, the leaching of anion salts and heavy metals contained in MSWIFA poses a high risk to environment. This study presents the feasibility of a one-step alkaline washing, one-step thermal quenching and two-step combination of alkaline washing and thermal quenching pretreatment methods in altering the key properties of MSWIFA for promoting its reusability. It was found that apart from H 2 (gas), NH 3 (gas) was also generated during the alkaline washing of the MSWIFA. Besides, pretreatments led to the reduction in particle size, the increase in pore volume and specific surface area of the MSWIFA, as well as the removal of chloride and sulfate anions. All the pretreatment methods were effective in reducing leaching of heavy metals to below levels of nonhazardous waste except Cd and Pb with alkaline washing. Furthermore, both the chemical Frattini test and the mechanical activity index test showed improvement in pozzolanic activities of the MSWIFA after the pretreatments. Overall, the combined pretreatment method was most effective in eliminating gas emission, and reducing leaching of metal ions and anions from the ash, while enhancing the pozzolanic activity of the ash. We consider a class of structured nonsmooth difference-of-convex minimization, which can be written as the difference of two convex functions possibly nonsmooth with the second one in the format of the maximum of a finite convex smooth functions. We propose two extrapolation proximal difference-of-convex-based algorithms for potential acceleration to converge to a weak/standard d-stationary point of the structured nonsmooth problem, and prove its linear convergence of these algorithms under the assumptions of piecewise error bound and piecewise isocost condition. As a product, we refine the linear convergence analysis of sDCA and ε -DCA in a recent work of Dong and Tao (J Optim Theory Appl 189: 190–220, 2021) by removing the assumption of locally linear regularity regarding the intersection of certain stationary sets and dominance regions. We also discuss sufficient conditions to guarantee these assumptions and illustrate that several sparse learning models satisfy all these assumptions. In order to understand the hydration processes of BaCl2, we investigated BaCl2(H2O)n− (n = 0–5) clusters using size-selected anion photoelectron spectroscopy and theoretical calculations. The structures of neutral BaCl2(H2O)n clusters up to n = 8 were also investigated by theoretical calculations. It is found that in BaCl2(H2O)n−/0, the Ba–Cl distances increase very slowly with the cluster size. The hydration process is not able to induce the breaking of a Ba–Cl bond in the cluster size range (n = 0–8) studied in this work. In small BaCl2(H2O)n clusters with n ≤ 5, the Ba atom has a coordination number of n + 2; however, in BaCl2(H2O)6–8 clusters, the Ba atom coordinates with two Cl atoms and (n − 1) water molecules, and it has a coordination number of n + 1. Unlike the previously studied MgCl2(H2O)n− and CaCl2(H2O)n−, negative charge-transfer-to-solvent behavior has not been observed for BaCl2(H2O)n−, and the excess electron of BaCl2(H2O)n− is mainly localized on the Ba atom rather on the water molecules. No observation of Ba2+–Cl− separation in current work is consistent with the lower solubility of BaCl2 compared to MgCl2 and CaCl2. Considering the BaCl2/H2O mole ratio in the saturated solution, one would expect that about 20–30 H2O molecules are needed to break the first Ba–Cl bond in BaCl2. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Electrostatic electron cyclotron harmonic (ECH) waves which can efficiently produce scattering loss of electrons, are frequently observed in the first band. Here we present new results on the global occurrence of higher‐band ECH waves in the radiation belts from Van Allen Probes data. We develop a novel noise reduction algorithm which can be widely applied to various plasma waves to better identify naturally occurring waves during periods of instrument interference. The occurrence rate of ECH waves in higher harmonic bands is comparable to that in the first harmonic band, except in the noon‐to‐dusk sector. As the level of geomagnetic activity increases, ECH waves in all bands can be observed at lower L‐shells. The occurrence rates of weak (moderate, strong) waves in all four bands increase 3–4 (4–6, 5–10) times during disturbed periods compared to those during quiet periods. The current results may provide better understanding of ECH‐driven magnetosphere‐ionosphere coupling. Targeting CD96 that originates in immune cells has shown potential for cancer therapy. However, the role of intrinsic CD96 in solid tumor cells remains unknown. Here, it is found that CD96 is frequently expressed in tumor cells from clinical breast cancer samples and is correlated with poor long-term prognosis in these patients. The CD96+ cancer cell subpopulations exhibit features of both breast cancer stem cells and chemoresistance. In vivo inhibition of cancer cell-intrinsic CD96 enhances the chemotherapeutic response in a patient-derived tumor xenograft model. Mechanistically, CD96 enhances mitochondrial fatty acid β-oxidation via the CD155-CD96-Src-Stat3-Opa1 pathway, which subsequently promotes chemoresistance in breast cancer stem cells. Overweight and moderate obesity confer a survival benefit in chronic diseases such as coronary artery disease and chronic kidney disease, which has been termed the "obesity paradox". However, whether this phenomenon exists in trauma patients remains controversial. We performed a retrospective cohort study in abdominal trauma patients admitted to a Level I trauma center in Nanjing, China between 2010 and 2020. In addition to the traditional body mass index (BMI) based measures, we further examined the association between body composition-based indices with clinical severity in trauma populations. Body composition indices including skeletal muscle index (SMI), fat tissue index (FTI), and total fat-to-muscle ratio (FTI/SMI) were measured using computed tomography. Our study found that overweight was associated with a four-fold risk of mortality (OR, 4.47 [95% CI, 1.40–14.97], p = 0.012) and obesity was associated with a seven-fold risk of mortality (OR, 6.56 [95% CI, 1.07–36.57], p = 0.032) compared to normal weight. Patients with high FTI/SMI had a three-fold risk of mortality (OR, 3.06 [95% CI, 1.08–10.16], p = 0.046) and double the risk of an intensive care unit length of stay ≥ 5 d (OR, 1.75 [95% CI, 1.06–2.91], p = 0.031) compared to patients with low FTI/SMI. Excess nitrogen (N) caused by straw returning to paddy fields undergoing flooding irrigation deteriorates the water quality. The purpose of this research was to use both simulated field and pot experiments to explore a new approach using zeolite to recycle this excess N. The results from simulated field experiments in stagnant water showed N adsorption with different zeolite applications (25, 50, 75, 100, 125, and 150 g L−1). Pot experiments revealed how straw and reused zeolite applications affected the concentrations of ammonia N (NH4+-N), nitrate N (NO3−-N), total N (TN), and total phosphorus (TP) in the surface water and soil layers of the paddy field. Zeolite showed a strong ability to adsorb NH4+-N in wastewater, even in a simulated drainage ditch (100 g L−1 zeolite adsorbed 74% NH4+-N). The zeolite recycled from the drainage ditch was still able to reduce N concentration caused by straw decomposition in the surface water. Zeolite adsorption reduced the peak values of NH4+-N, TN, and TP by 30%, 19%, and 5%, respectively. Based on these findings and conventional field designs, the use of 20 t ha−1 zeolite in the field is effective for recycling N and P. • A "one-shot" pruning method based on the redundancy of filters for CNNs is proposed. • Graphs are established to represent the similarity relations between feature maps. • The proposed method is tested on VGGNet, ResNet, and DenseNet to recognize CIFAR-10. [Display omitted] The vast majority of repetitive pruning and retraining techniques used on CNNs require multi-stage optimization, which undermines the potential computing savings from pruning. The similarity relationship between the output feature maps of the filters is first observed and represented as a graphical model in this paper in order to solve this issue. Vertex redundancy in a graph is determined using the degree of a vertex and the weight of its edges. Pruning is then carried out "one-shot" by removing the filters associated with redundant feature maps from each layer. In order to preserve performance, the network must finally be retrained. The CIFAR-10 dataset is identified using the classifier produced by applying this proposed methodology to several deep learning models. In this instance, both the parameters reduction and FLOPs reduction of the trimmed model are significantly improved. This method, tested on VGG-16, reduces parameters by 90.8% and FLOPs by 60.0% while sacrificing little accuracy (=0.16%) in comparison to the baseline. The results based on ResNet-110 show that applying the proposed approach can reduce FLOPs and parameters by 70.4% while preserving baseline accuracy with a loss of just 0.05%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Diabetes mellitus (DM) has been recognized as an increased risk factor for cognitive impairment, known as diabetic encephalopathy (DE). Hyperglycemia and insulin resistance are the main initiators of DE, which is related to the accumulation of advanced glycation end products (AGEs). Potassium 2-(1-hydroxypentyl)-benzoate (PHPB), a derivative of 3-n-butylphthalide (dl-NBP), has emerged various properties including improved mitochondrial function, antioxidant, anti-neuroinflammation, and neuroprotective effects. The present study aimed to investigate the neuroprotective effect of PHPB against AGEs accumulation in type 2 diabetic KK-Ay mice model with DE and further explore the underlying mechanisms. The results showed that PHPB markedly ameliorated the spatial learning ability of KK-Ay mice in the Morris water maze and decreased AD-like pathologic changes (Tau hyperphosphorylation) in the cortex. Furthermore, we found that PHPB treatment significantly reduced AGEs generation via up-regulation of glyoxalase-1 (GLO1) protein and enhancement of methylglyoxal (MG) trapping, while there was no obvious difference in levels of glucose in plasma or brain, contents of total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), and plasma insulin. Also, PHPB treatment improved the insulin signaling pathway by increasing sirtuin1 (SIRT1) deacetylase activity and attenuated oxidative stress evidenced by elevating glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G-6-PD) protein expression, promoting the production of reduced glutathione (GSH) and reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH), restoring mitochondrial membrane potential, increasing adenosine triphosphate (ATP) generation, and reducing malondialdehyde (MDA) levels in the brain. Taken together, PHPB exhibited a beneficial effect on DE, which involved modulating the SIRT1/insulin signaling pathway and reducing oxidative stress by inhibiting the generation of AGEs. The random distributed-feedback fiber laser (RFL) is a new approach to obtain a high-power stable supercontinuum (SC) source. To consider both structure simplification and high-power SC output, an innovative structure achieving a kilowatt-level SC output in a single-stage RFL with a half-open cavity is demonstrated in this paper. It consists of a fiber oscillator, a piece of long passive fiber and a broadband coupler, among which the broadband coupler acting as a feedback device is crucial in SC generation. When the system has no feedback, the backward output power is up to 298 W under the pump power of 1185 W. When the feedback is introduced before the pump laser, the backward power loss can be reduced and the pump can be fully utilized, which could promote forward output power and conversion efficiency significantly. Under the maximum pump power of 1847 W, a 1300 W SC with spectrum ranging from 887 to 1920 nm and SC conversion efficiency of 66% is obtained. To the best of our knowledge, it is the simplest structure used for high-power SC generation, and both the generated SC output power and the conversion efficiency are highest in the scheme of the half-opened RFL output SC. Background: Allergic rhinitis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the nasal mucosa affecting the quality of life of patients. SRY-box transcription factor 11 (SOX11) was reported to play important roles in inflammatory responses, but its role in AR is poorly understood. Aims: To explore the role of SOX11 in the development of allergic rhinitis. Study Design: Cell culture and animal study. Methods: An in vivo murine allergic rhinitis model was established using ovalbumin treatment in female mice. Interleukin-13-stimulated human nasal mucosa epithelial cells were used for in vitro studies. Expression levels of SOX11, epithelial-derived cytokines, and mucin were determined in both modesls. Results: SOX11 was highly expressed in allergic rhinitis mice. Allergy symptoms, serum ovalbumin-specific IgE, histamine, eosinophils, goblet cells, and type 2 cytokine secretion were increased in ovalbumin-treated mice. Furthermore, allergic rhinitis mice exhibited overproduction of epithelial-derived cytokines (thymic stromal lymphopoietin, interleukin-25, interleukin-33), C-C motif chemokine ligand 26 (CCL26), and mucin 5 AC (MUC5AC). Silencing SOX11 alleviated the behavioral symptoms and upregulation of epithelial-derived cytokines, CCL26, and MUC5AC. In human nasal mucosa epithelial cells, interleukin-13 enhanced SOX11 expression in a time-dependent manner, and signal transducer and activator of transcription 6 (STAT6) was involved in the interleukin-13-mediated expression of SOX11 by regulating transcription. Knockdown of SOX11 reduced epithelial-derived cytokine expression and MUC5AC levels in interleukin-13-treated human nasal mucosa epithelial cells. Conclusion: SOX11 plays a critical role in allergic rhinitis development by regulating epithelial-derived cytokines and might be a new therapeutic target for allergic rhinitis. Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is one of the common metabolic diseases characterized by hepatic lipid accumulation. Insulin resistance and microcirculation dysfunction are strongly associated with NAFLD. CX08005, an inhibitor of PTP1B with the IC50 of 0.75 ± 0.07 μM, has been proven to directly enhance insulin sensitivity. The present study aimed to investigate the effects of CX08005 on hepatic lipid accumulation and microcirculation dysfunction in both KKAy mice and diet-induced obesity (DIO) mice. Hepatic lipid accumulation was evaluated by hepatic triglyceride determination and B-ultrasound analysis in KKAy mice. Insulin sensitivity and blood lipids were assessed by insulin tolerance test (ITT) and triglyceride (TG)/total cholesterol (TC) contents, respectively. In addition, the hepatic microcirculation was examined in DIO mice by in vivo microscopy. The results showed that CX08005 intervention significantly reduced the TG and echo-intensity attenuation coefficient in the livers of KKAy mice. Furthermore, we found that CX08005 treatment significantly enhanced insulin sensitivity, and decreased plasma TG and/or TC contents in KKAy and DIO mice, respectively. In addition, CX08005 treatment ameliorated hepatic microcirculation dysfunction in DIO mice, as evidenced by increased RBCs velocity and shear rate of the blood flow in central veins and in the interlobular veins, as well as enhanced rate of perfused hepatic sinusoids in central vein area. Additionally, CX08005 administration decreased the adhered leukocytes both in the center veins and in the hepatic sinusoids area. Taken together, CX08005 exhibited beneficial effects on hepatic lipid accumulation and microcirculation dysfunction associated with NAFLD, which was involved with modulating insulin sensitivity and leukocyte recruitment, as well as restoration of normal microcirculatory blood flow. Extensive characterization, including extended X-ray absorption fine-structure (EXAFS) and soft X-ray absorption spectroscopy (sXAS), model reactions, basic data science analysis, and DFT calculations suggest that ppm of Fe in particular FeN 3 sites formed in pyrolysis, rather than non-metallic elements, drive key steps such as H 2 activation and deoxygenation of –OH during HMF HDO. [Display omitted] For the optical equipment used in the marine environment, the quality and accuracy of the tests are easily affected by biological fouling. Hence, good anti-fouling performance is crucial for preserving the optical equipment. A new electrochemical chlorination anti-fouling system has been proposed for years and is suitable for underwater optical windows. In this paper, nano Co 3 O 4 electrocatalysts with different morphologies were prepared through the hydrothermal method to study the structure–activity relationship between their electrochemical properties and morphologies. The nanourchin Co 3 O 4 shows the best electrochemical properties resulting from its large surface area. The titanium mesh electrode with nanourchin Co 3 O 4 was used to evaluate the anti-fouling performance. In comparison to commercial dimensionally stable anode electrodes, the developed Co 3 O 4 /titanium mesh electrode has higher catalytic performance, better selectivity, and lower cost. The bactericidal rate can reach 95% in 20 mins and it can effectively inhibit the sedimentation of microorganisms on the glass surface. Therefore, it is a promising strategy to use the nanourchin Co 3 O 4 as an electrocatalyst to protect the underwater optical windows. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objectives. The appropriate extent of revascularization following primary intervention is unknown. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of residual Syntax score (rSS) to predict the outcomes and provide guide to optimal management of revascularization following primary intervention. Designs. Previously published studies from 2007 to 2020 assessing the prognostic impact of rSS after ACS were included for this meta-analysis. The primary endpoint was defined as the major adverse clinical events (MACE) in multivariable analysis. The risk ratios (RRs) with 95% confidence intervals (CI) were calculated using the RevMan 5.4 software. Results. A total of 8,157 participants complicated with ACS from 12 clinical studies were included in this analysis. Based on the wide range of rSS studies available, we classified it into two major groups: rSS < 8 and rSS ≥ 8. In multivariate analysis, the rSS was an independent risk marker for MACE [RR = 1.04 (95%CI; 1.00–1.08)], all-cause mortality [RR = 1.05 (1.03–1.07)] and cardiovascular death [RR = 1.05 (1.03–1.07)]. Patients with incomplete revascularization (ICR) showed higher prevalence of MACE along with all-cause mortality, cardiovascular morality, and recurrent myocardial infarction without significant heterogeneity [RR = 1.60 (1.03–1.07), 2.30 (1.57–3.38), 3.57 (2.09–6.10) and 1.70 (1.38–2.09), respectively]. The patients with rSS ≥ 8 presented higher frequency of all-cause mortality [RR = 2.99 (2.18–4.09)], cardiovascular death [RR = 3.32 (2.22–4.95)], and recurrent myocardial infarction [RR = 1.64 (1.34–2.02)]. Conclusion. The meta-analysis indicated that an rSS value of 8 could be a reasonable cut-off for incomplete revascularization after ACS and is an efficient tool to guide revascularization. The flow past a cylinder near a plane wall for small gap ratios (G / D = 0.1 , 0.3 , and 0.9) and fixed ReD = 1000 is numerically studied. The fundamental flow features are characterized by the instantaneous and mean fields. Then, the dynamics of cylinder-wake/boundary-layer interaction are revealed by the turbulent momentum transport and kinetic energy production. The turbulent fluctuations caused by the secondary vortex (SV) (at G / D = 0.3 , 0.9) and the novel tertiary vortex (TV) (at G / D = 0.9) can be observed in the distributions of Reynolds stresses. For G / D = 0.1 and G / D = 0.3 , the wake/boundary-layer interaction is dominated by ejection and sweep events, which are related to the generation of the hairpin vortex. These two bursting events lead to the momentum transport between the high- and low-speed sides. For G / D = 0.9 , the ejection event is not found in the interaction region because the head of the hairpin vortex is entrained into the wake. The upper roller (RU) helps to transport high-momentum fluid toward the wall in this case, although it does not take part in the interaction directly. The shedding of RU, the lower roller (RL), SV (at G / D = 0.3 and 0.9), and KH (Kelvin–Helmholtz) vortex (at G / D = 0.1) and the generation of the hairpin vortex are crucial to turbulent kinetic energy (TKE) production. The RU, KH vortex, and SV transfer ⟨ u ′ u ′ ⟩ out to ⟨ v ′ v ′ ⟩ and ⟨ w ′ w ′ ⟩ resulting redistribution of the TKE. While RL, surviving for a shorter time, transfers ⟨ v ′ v ′ ⟩ out to ⟨ u ′ u ′ ⟩ and ⟨ w ′ w ′ ⟩ , helping explain why it disappears quickly, TV only transfers out ⟨ v ′ v ′ ⟩ out to ⟨ u ′ u ′ ⟩ , and its TKE comes from other terms rather than the production term. The redistribution of TKE due to the generation of the hairpin vortex can result in the slower growth rate of the secondary disturbance growth stage, promoting the wall boundary layer transition.
