The geological position, morphology of serpentinite bodies, limitation by faults, the presence of surrounding metamorphites as enclosing strata fragments within the Stanovsky ophiolite complex, the nature of metamorphism, high deformation of rocks of both ophiolites and contact zone strata, and the mineral parageneses of secondary transformations fully correspond to the signs of Stanovsky ophiolites introduction into the deeply metamorphosed Faddeevsky block strata of Northeastern Taimyr, and not their obduction. The modeling results showed that fragments of the oceanic crust introduced into the metamorphosed complexes of the continental crust during the collision can have a dual origin — from the primary oceanic crust, and from the newly formed crust of the back-arc basin. A detailed chemical composition analysis of the Stanovsky ophiolites indicates their formation in the suprasubduction setting of the back-arc basin, which justifies the possibility of the second scenario.

The article presents the results of structural and geomorphological analysis of the Taimyr Peninsula North-Eastern part. The main neotectonic structures of the region are identified. It is shown that the intensity of neotectonic processes increases in the North-East direction, which is due to the approach to the spreading zone of the Gakkel ridge in the Arctic ocean. In the same direction, the tectonic fragmentation of Taimyr, the height of mountain structures, and seismic activity are increasing.

Abstract 2-Hydroxy-5-methoxyphenylphosphonic acid (H3L1) and the complex [Cu(H2L1)2(H2O)2] were synthesized and characterized by IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetry, and X-ray diffraction analysis. The polyhedron of the copper atom is an axially elongated square bipyramid with oxygen atoms of phenolic and of monodeprotonated phosphonic groups at the base and oxygen atoms of water molecules at the vertices. The protonation constants of the H3L1 acid and the stability constants of its Cu2+ complexes in water were determined by potentiometric titration. The protonation constants of the acid in water are significantly influenced by the intramolecular hydrogen bond and the methoxy group. The H3L1 acid forms complexes CuL‒ and CuL24‒ with Cu2+ in water.

Palladium(I) coordination polymers with unsaturated dicarboxylic acids, {[cis-Pd(C4H2O4)(H2O)]·(H2O)}n (I) (maleic acid), {[cis-Pd(C5H4O4)(H2O)]·2H2O}n (II) (citraconic acid), and {[trans-Pd(C4H2O4)(H2O)]·(H2O)}n (III) (fumaric acid) with stable paramagnetic centers in the polymer matrix were synthesized for the first time. According to IR and ESR spectroscopy data (determining the number of paramagnetic centers) and results of thermogravimetric analysis, the building blocks of I–III are, at least, tetranuclear Pd(I) clusters, in which palladium atoms are linked by bridging carboxylate groups. Each carboxylate group is coordinated via only one O atom, while the second O atom is linked to the nearest palladium atom of the neighboring cluster, thus giving a multidimensional coordination polymer. The coordination sphere of each Pd(I) atom in the cluster is completed by a water molecule and Pd–Pd bond. Heating of I–III results in the loss of solvation water molecules as the first stage. Above 100°C, the onset of removal of the coordinated water molecules is accompanied by complete decomposition of the complexes. On treatment of I with CH3CN in methanol, redox reaction takes place, in which complex I disproportionates to give Pd(II) complex and Pd(0) to give [Pd(HOOC–CH–CH(CH3O)(CH3CN)2] (IV) (CIF file CCDC no. 2039147).

The results of development of physicochemical fundamentals for the synthesis and deep purification of tin tetrachloride have been described. The samples of SnCl4 have been prepared from elements in a specially designed quartz installation. Prepared SnCl4 has been purified by rectification on a perforated-plate column. It has been revealed by mass spectrometry that the content of lead admixture after SnCl4 rectification decreases from 120 to 2 ppm, and the content of admixtures of other metals decreases considerably. Separation factors in liquid–vapor system for hardly separable admixtures have been calculated. The purity of SnCl4 samples has been confirmed by IR and Raman spectroscopy. The prepared SnCl4 samples contained 10–4 wt % of admixtures.

The co-precipitation of calcium hydroxyapatite Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2 (HA) and natural biopolymer, potassium alginate (PA) [C6H7KO6]n, from an aqueous solution of the CaCl2–(NH4)2HPO4–NH3–[C6H7KO6]n–H2O system (25оC) was used to synthesize HA/PA organomineral composites based on nanocrystalline HA containing 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, and 0.4 wt % PA. The synthesis products were identified by powder X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis, infrared spectroscopy, scanning and transmission electron microscopy, and electron spectroscopy for chemical analysis.

An approach to immobilization of heterocycle-appended porphyrins bearing one or two anchoring groups at the surface of UiO-66 and UiO-67 MOFs has been developed. For this purpose, carboxy-substituted porphyrin’s derivatives Ni-4 and Ni-5 have been synthesized for the first time. It has been shown that the presence of one anchoring carboxy group at the periphery of the porphyrin is insufficient for the efficient immobilization. At the same time, the prepared pyrazinoporphyrin bearing two carboxy groups is efficiently immobilized at the surface of the MOF particles in 1 : 16 ratio with respect to hexanuclear Zr(IV) node clusters. The post-synthetic modification has been found to be the most efficient approach to prepare the target hybrid materials. The prepared materials are completely characterized by means of powder X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and UV-vis diffuse reflectance and IR spectroscopies.

A denitrifying bacterium Pseudomonas veronii A-6-5 was isolated from a deep aquifer contaminated with nitrates and uranium. The O-polysaccharide (OPS) was isolated by mild acid degradation of the lipopolysaccharide of P. veronii A-6-5 and studied using sugar analysis and 1D and 2D 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The trisaccharide O-repeating unit was found to have the following structure: [Formula: see text] [Formula: see text] where Hb is 3-hydroxybutanoyl. The genome of P. veronii A-6-5 was sequenced and a respective OPS gene cluster was identified. Functions of the proteins encoded in the gene cluster, including the enzymes involved in the O-polysaccharide biosynthesis and glycosyl transferases, were putatively assigned by comparison with available database sequences. Formation of a new coordination bond between uranyl and the O-polysaccharide from P. veronii A-6-5 was demonstrated using FTIR spectroscopy; it may affect uranyl migration in the groundwaters due to its immobilization on microbial biofilms. Applied importance of this work is that the structure of the O-polysaccharide of a strain isolated from uranium-contaminated groundwater was determined and the character of interaction between the polysaccharide and the uranyl ion was established. The data obtained are of importance for development of the biotechnologies for treatment of uranium-contaminated groundwater and activated sludge.

Two new gold(III) complexes with adenine or guanine nitrogenous bases as counter-cations were synthesized. These are 6-amino-7H-purine-1,9-diium tetrachloridogold(III) chloride monohydrate, (C5H7N5)[AuCl4]Cl·H2O, 1, and 2-amino-6-oxo-6,7-dihydro-1H-purin-9-ium tetrachloridogold(III) hemihydrate, (C5H6N5O)[AuCl4]·0.5H2O, 2. Their crystal structures were studied using single-crystal X-ray diffraction and FT–IR spectroscopic techniques. The arrangement of species in the studied crystal structures implies π-stacking interactions, as well as concomitant C—H...π interactions, hydrogen bonds and other types of noncovalent interactions, which were studied qualitatively and quantitatively using the method of molecular Voronoi–Dirichlet polyhedra. The variation of the nitrogenous base from adenine to guanine results in evident differences in the packing of the species in the crystals of 1 and 2. The splitting and shifting of bands in the FT–IR spectra of the title compounds reveals several features representative of noncovalent interactions in their crystal structures.

Structural-geomorphological analysis of the modern relief allowed us to reveal patterns in the newest structure of Western Taimyr and to show the significance of the shear horizontal displacements of structural forms, as well as the manifestation of previously formed thrusts on the relief in some areas. The neotectonic evolution of the Arctic region has been controlled by opening of the Eurasian Basin since the Oligocene. This resulted in the activation of the northeastern faults in the region with the same orientation as the transform faults of Gakkel Ridge spreading zone, which supports the active evolution of this region at the present stage.

Since the Oligocene, neotectonic development of the Arctic was determined by Eurasian basin opening. This causes the activation of the North-Eastern faults in the region, which have the same stretch as the transform faults of Gakkel ridge spreading zone, which confirms the active development of this region at the present stage.

Glass formation in the AlCl–(CH3)2SO–H2O system was detected for the first time, the boundaries of the glass formation region were determined, and glass AlCl3 · 2.9(CH3)2SO · 4.8H2O was synthesized. The IR spectra of glass-forming solutions within the boundaries of the glass formation region and the glass AlCl3 · 2.9(CH3)2SO · 4.8H2O were recorded. It was concluded that (CH3)2SO enters the first coordination sphere of the aluminum ion through the oxygen atom. The glass AlCl3 · 2.9(CH3)2SO · 4.8H2O was studied by calorimetry, and its glass transition temperature was determined to be Tg = –32.3°C.

The effect of the nature of halogen-substituted carboxylic acids RCOOH, where R is ClCH2, Cl2CH, Cl3C, or F3C, on the complexation of palladium halocarboxylates with morpholine C4H9NO was investigated. Reactions with ClCH2COOH and Cl2CHCOOH gave binuclear complexes [(C4H9NO)2Pd2(μ-OOCR)2(OOCR)2] with palladium-coordinated morpholine, whereas reactions with Cl3CCOOH and F3CCOOH afforded the first tetra(halocarboxylate) palladium complexes with protonated morpholine as the cation, (C4H10NO)2[Pd(RCOO)4]. The acid–base balance of morpholine and halocarboxylic acid was the key factor determining the composition of the resulting complexes. For the formation of palladium tetra(halocarboxylates) with morpholine, the difference between the morpholine and acid pKa values should be not lower than 7.63. X-ray diffraction studies were carried out for the first tetra(halocarboxylate) palladium complex with a monocarboxylic acid (C4H10NO)2[Pd(OOCCF3)4 ∙ 2H2O] (I) and for trans-[(C4H9NO)2Pd(OOCCH2Cl)2 ∙ 2H2O] (II), trans-[(C4H9NO)2Pd(OOCCHCl2)2] (III), and trans-[(C4H9NO)2Pd(OOCCF3)2 ∙ 2H2O] (IV) (CIF files CCDC nos. 1008564, 1894300, 1008566, and 1894299, respectively).

The new compound Аl2(SO4)3 ⋅ 8(CH3)2SO, which cannot be prepared by direct synthesis, has been synthesized from an Аl2(SO4)3 ⋅ 8(CH3)2SO ⋅ 3Н2О glass. The compound has been identified by X-ray diffraction. Based on IR spectra, it has been concluded that the Al3+ ion has mixed coordination to dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) molecules, and the ligands are linked to each other through the S and O atoms.

Reaction of aluminum chloride crystalline hydrate AlCl3(H2O)6 and urea in solid state and AlCl3(H2O)6–CO(NH2)2–H2O and AlCl3(CO(NH2)2)6–H2O aqueous solutions has been studied. Analysis of IR spectra of studied samples showed that complete substitution of water molecules in the first coordination sphere of Al3+ ion by urea molecules occurs at the molar ratio Al : CO(NH2)2 = 1 : 6 in solid and liquid phase. Computation of structures, IR spectra, and energy parameters for (CO(NH2)2)2, CO(NH2)2(H2O)2, CO(NH2)2(H2O)4, $${\text{Al}}\left( {{\text{CO}}{{{\left( {{\text{N}}{{{\text{H}}}_{2}}} \right)}}_{2}}} \right)_{6}^{{3 + }},$$ $${\text{Al(CO(N}}{{{\text{H}}}_{2}}{{)}_{2}})_{{6\,\, + \,\,6}}^{{3 + }}$$ , and $${\text{Al(CO(N}}{{{\text{H}}}_{2}}{{)}_{2}}{{)}_{6}}({{{\text{H}}}_{2}}{\text{O}})_{3}^{{3 + }}$$ complexes was performed using DFT (B3LYP-6-31++G(d,p)) method. On the basis of obtained data, competition between water and urea molecules in AlCl3(CO(NH2)2)6 aqueous solutions has been studied and experimental results have been explained.

The results of the structural–geomorphic analysis of the Heraklion peninsula in southwestern Crimea are presented. The Western, Central, and Southeastern segments, which differ in the density and orientation of fracturing zones and faults, drainage system characteristics, and coastal zone structure, were recognized. It was demonstrated that the neotectonic movements in the upper structural unit are manifested most distinctly above the Late Jurassic–Early Cretaceous collisional suture that was formed during the closure of the back-arc basin with oceanic crust.

The article presents the results of the structural-geomorphological analysis of the Heraklion peninsula of the South-Western Crimea. The Western, Central and South-Eastern segments are distinguished, differing in density and direction of fracture zones, faults, the nature of the ravine-gulch net, and the structure of the coastal zone. It is shown that neotectonic movements in the upper structural floor are most intensively manifested over the Late Jurassic-Early Cretaceous collisional suture formed when the back-arc basin with the oceanic crust was closed.

An IR spectroscopic investigation of extraction system components was carried out to study the complexation in the extraction of acetic, monochloroacetic, dichloroacetic, and trichloroacetic acids into benzo-15-crown-5 in chloroform. It was shown that acid extraction into chloroform (blank extraction) may give adducts via two mechanisms involving either the chloroform hydrogen atom and the carbonyl oxygen of the acid or the chloroform hydrogen atom and the chlorine atom of the chloroacetic acids. A spectral criterion for the complexation with benzo-15-crown-5 was proposed. It was shown that the extractable complexes incorporate water molecules.

To study the complexing processes occurring in the extraction systems, the extraction of acetic, propionic (methylacetic), monochloroacetic, dichloroacetic and trichloroacetic acids using benzo-15- crown-5 as an extractant is considered. The extraction isotherms of acids with the pure solvent and 1 M benzo-15-crown-5 in chloroform are determined. The dependences of the distribution ratios of the considered acids on the extractant concentration in the organic phase are presented. Based on the experimental data and the “blank” extraction isotherm equations, the acid: benzo-15-crown-5 ratio in the complexes formed in the extract have been calculated (minus the contribution of extraction with the pure solvent). No complexation of methylacetic acid with benzo-15-crown-5 occurs, and the stability of the complexes of chloro-substituted acetic acids rises in the order acetic acid < monochloroacetic acid < dichloroacetic acid < trichloroacetic acid.

The glass formation in the Al2(SO4)3–(CH3)2SO–H2O system was found for the first time. The competitive ability of ligands, dimethyl sulfoxide and water (which are strong donors), for entering the first coordination sphere of aluminum is considered. The possibility of mixed coordination of (CH3)2SO (via sulfur and oxygen atoms) in the first coordination sphere of aluminum with retention of the glass-forming ability of the sample was suggested on the basis of IR spectral study.

Water–acetone solutions in the AlCl3–(CH3)2CO–H2O and AlCl3–(CH3)2CO–H2O–HCl systems were obtained and studied. In both cases, the solution separated into layers to form liquid fractions of lower and higher density. The IR spectra of the fractions were studied. In the light fraction, no AlCl3 was present, but hydrogen-bonded acetone–water complexes were detected. The spectra of the heavy fraction exhibited a broad band at ~3020–3040 cm–1 corresponding to the OH groups of water from aluminum hexahydrate. As the solvent is evaporated, the band narrows down, with its position being retained. The IR spectrum of the obtained solid becomes identical to the IR spectrum of the crystal hydrate AlCl3.(H2O)6. The structures and spectral and energetic parameters of Al(H2O) 6 3+ , Al(H2O) 6+12 3+ , Al((CH3)2CO) 6 3+ , Al((CH3)2CO) 4 3+ , and (CH3)2CO.H2O were calculated by the density functional theory method (B3LYP/6-31++G(d,p)). Relying on the results, an explanation was proposed for the experimentlly observed absence of acetone molecules in the Al3+ first coordination shell.

The structure of the 1-D {[Co2(μ,η2-OOCPh)(μ-OOCPh)2(O(H)Me)2](μ-OOCPh)(HCCl3)} n polymer formed upon the dissolution of single crystals of the mononuclear Co(OOPh)2[O(H)Me]4 adduct containing coordinated labile methanol molecules in boiling chloroform was studied by X-ray diffraction.

Collision and trap magmatism are spatially conjugated within the Taimyr fold region. Trap magmatism is related in time to late collision and postcollision stages. Supercomputer modeling makes it to possible to reveal the potential for mantle and crust heating at the late collision stages, accompanied by largescale basaltic magmatism.

It is shown that in the Taymyr folded region the collision and trap magmatism are spatially combined. In time trap magmatism is associated with late-collision and post-collisional stages. Supercomputer modeling showed the possibility of mantle and crust heating in the late stages of collision, accompanied by basaltic magmatism in a quite large amount.

Chloroform–water extraction systems have been studied using crown-ethers as extracting agents, namely: benzo-15-crown-5 (B15C5), 2,3-naphtho-15-crown-5 (N15C5), 4′-nitro-benzo-15-crown-5 (NO2B15C5), 4′-tert-butyl-benzo-15-crown-5 (TBB15C5), and 4′-acetyl-benzo-15-crown-5 (AcB15C5). Extraction isotherms of these systems have been obtained, and an attempt made to elucidate the effect of the structure of extracting agent on extraction characteristics. IR-spectroscopic studies have been performed for selected crown-ethers and their complexes in crystalline form and in chloroform solutions, namely, for N15C5, NO2B15C5, AcB15C5, and B15C5. The complexes LiN15C5H2OClO4 (1), LiN15C5H2OI (2), LiNO2B15C5H2OI (3), LiAcB15C5H2OI (4), and LiTBB15C5H2OI (5) have been isolated for the first time and characterized by IR spectroscopy. Single-crystal X-ray data have been obtained for complexes 1–3.

The phase composition of the product of thermal dehydration of a mixture of crystallohydrates of magnesium and calcium nitrates with a bulk composition Mg(NO3)2 · Ca(NO3)2 ⋅ 2.7H2O is determined via X-ray phase analysis and its IR spectrum is obtained. It is found that the sample solidifies upon cooling to form a compact nonhygroscopic mass. A sample with a higher concentration of water is hygroscopic and deliquescent in air. Deeper dehydration is accompanied by hydrolysis with the formation of basic salts. The anti-icing properties of the dehydrated nitrate sample are determined.

The complex formation of lithium with benzo-15-crown-5 (B15C5) was investigated. The complexes LiB15C5H2OX, where X = Cl− (1), I− (2), (3), (5), and LiBF4B15C5 (4) were synthesized and studied by IR spectroscopy. Complexes 1–4 were examined by X-ray diffraction. According to IR spectroscopy data, the crown ether conformation changes upon dissolution. The interaction of the extracted complex with the solvent was identified.

Composites comprising micrometer-sized carbon fibers (CFs) and biocompatible nanocrystalline calcium hydroxyapatite Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2 (HA, NCHA), containing 1.0, 2.0, and 5.0 wt % CFs, have been synthesized in the course of precipitation from aqueous solutions in the Ca(OH)2–H3PO4–CF–H2O system. Some physicochemical characteristics of the precursor CFs and synthesis products have been determined using chemical, X-ray diffraction, and thermal analyses, IR spectroscopy, and scanning and transmission electron microscopy. An analysis of composition–synthesis conditions–structure–particle size–property correlations indicates that the presence of CFs in HA/CF composites strongly decreases the sizes and modifies the habit of NCHA. A rise of CF content in the HA/CF composite is accompanied by a decrease in particle size and a rise in solubility of NCHA.

The reaction of (NBu4)2Me2Mal (where Me2Mal2− is dimethylmalonate dianion) with cobalt(II) or nickel(II) acetates M(OAc)2·4H2O (M = CoII or NiII) gave (NBu4)6[Co36(H2O-κO)12(μ3-OH)20(μ4-HMe2Mal-κ2O,O′)2(μ4-Me2Mal-κ2O,O′)22(μ4-Me2Mal)6]·3EtOH (1) and (NBu4)8[Ni36(H2O-κO)12(μ3-OH)20(μ4-Me2Mal-κ2O,O′)24(μ4-Me2Mal)6]·6H2O·2EtOH (2), respectively. Replacement of the aqueous NBu4OH solution by a methanolic solution allowed us to isolate the 36-nuclear complex (NBu4)8[Co36(H2O-κO)12(μ3-OH)20(μ4-Me2Mal-κ2O,O′)24(μ4-Me2Mal)6]·2.5H2O·CH3OH (3). Complexes 1–3 were characterized by IR spectroscopy, single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, and magnetochemical studies.

This paper describes the types of breccia of the eastern part of Cape Fiolent, including verd antique (ophicalcite) for the first time, whose formation is associated with ophiolite. It has been shown that the formation of the ophiolite assemblage of the area occurred in the intersection zone of the rift valley and transform fault.

The coprecipitation of calcium hydroxyapatite (HA) (Ca10(PO4)6(OH)3) and silk fibroin (SF) from an aqueous solution in the Ca(NO3)2–(NH4)2HPO4–NH3–H2O–SF system has been used to synthesize HA/SF organomineral composites based on nanocrystalline HA, containing 2, 5, and 10 wt % SF. The synthesis products were characterized by X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and electron spectroscopy for chemical analysis.

The paramagnetic PdI centers with unpaired electrons have been first revealed by EPR spectroscopy in the polymeric matrices of PdI sorbates [Pd(C6H7O2)H2O]n, [Pd(C6H7O2)]n and 4-pentenate [Pd(C5H7O2)H2O]n. These compounds have been obtained by the reactions between Pd3(MeCO2)6 and sorbic (MeCH=CHCH=CHCOOH) and 4-pentenoic (CH2=CHCH2CH2COOH) acids in MeOH.

Polymeric palladium complexes with citraconic, itaconic, and maleic acids [Pd(μ-OOC–R–COO)(H2O)]n · (0.1 НOOC–R–COOH)n, where R is CH=C(CH3) (1), CH2–C(=CH2) (2), or CH=CH (3), in which the coordination surrounding of palladium consists of bridging acid carboxylate groups and complemented with water molecules linked by hydrogen bonds to the oxygen atoms of the non-coordinated carboxylate groups of citraconic, itaconic, and maleic ions, have been synthesized for the first time. The reaction between palladium citraconate 1 and CH3CN in acetone results in the tetranuclear complex [Pd(μ- OОC)С(СН3)(OH)СН(COOH)(CH3CN)]4 · 2H2O (4), whose structure has been characterized by X-ray diffraction. The reduction of the double bond in the citraconate ion and, as a consequence, the formation of the Pd–C bond result in that each of the four palladium atoms forms a five-membered chelate ring linked to the second non-coordinated carboxylate branch of citraconic acid.

We have studied the optical absorption, luminescence, and electron paramagnetic resonance of EuF3- and EuF2-activated fluorohafnate glasses. The glasses prepared with EuF2 contain both di- and trivalent europium. The fraction of divalent europium clusters in the glass host decreases with decreasing EuF2 concentration. Eu2+ luminescence in the fluorohafnate glasses is quenched, which is due the overlap of Eu2+ excited state levels with the conduction band of the glass, resulting in nonradiative relaxation through Hf3+ levels in the conduction band. The Eu3+ luminescence spectra contain lines corresponding to transitions from several levels of the 5 D multiplet to levels of the 7 F multiplet. The relationship between transitions from different 5 D levels depends on europium concentration and temperature.

Interaction between GO and the counterpart of the bone tissue, calcium hydroxyapatite Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2 (HA), is modeled in the course of synthesis of nanosize composite materials (CMs) based on graphene oxide (GO) and biocompatible HA with a GO content of 0.1, 1.0, 2.0, and 5.0 wt % GO from aqueous solutions in the system of Ca(OH)2–H3PO4–GO–H2O under native conditions (37°C). The effect of CM composition on the size and morphology of HA nanocrystals (HA NCs) is determined using the methods of physico-chemical analysis (chemical, XRD, IRS, DTA, TDG, SEM, TEM). The solubility of HA NC CMs by Ca2+ ions in distilled water is determined under in vitro conditions, and the possible results of interaction between GO and native calcified tissues are analyzed.

Extraction characteristics of chloroform–water system in lithium iodide extraction with benzo-15-crown-5 (B15C5) were studied. The complexation of the crown ether with LiI in organic phase was shown by IR spectroscopy. Isotope effect multiplication was performed by extraction chromatography technique. The magnitude of isotope separation factor (α) for 6Li-7Li pair was 1.017. The light lithium isotope is concentrated in organic phase.

An ophiolitic association consisting of serpentinized ultramafic rocks and serpentinite, layered mafic–ultramafic complex, gabbro and gabbrodolerite, fragments of parallel dike complex, pillow lava, black bedded chert, and jasper has been identified for the first time by authors in the Cape Fiolent area. The chemistry of pillow lavas and dolerites, including REE patterns and a wide set of other microelements, indicates suprasubduction nature of the ophiolites and their belonging to a backarc basin that has reached the stage of spreading in its evolution.

This paper reports on the geological position and composition of serpentinite and serpentinitized peridotite, which we were the first to find in the cliffs of the southern part of the Heracleian Peninsula of Southwestern Crimea. In combination with pillow lava, gabbro, fragments of parallel dikes, and jasper, these rocks form an ophiolite association, which formerly belonged to the ancient crust of a back-arc basin that had reached the spreading stage of development.

Binary α-unsaturated palladium carboxylates have been synthesized by substitution of α-unsaturated acids RCOOH (R is CH2=C(Me), MeCH=CH, PhCH=CH) for the acetate ion in Pd3(μ-MeCOO)6. These carboxylates react with amines A (A is morpholine (M), methylmorpholine (MM), or thiomorpholine (MS)) to give trans-Pd(A)2(RCOO)2 similar to trans-A2(MeCO2)2. The structures of the trans-Pd(A)2(RCOO)2 complexes (R is MeCH=CH; A is M, MM, MS) have been determined by X-ray crystallography. The effect of solvent on the crystal structure of the complexes has been demonstrated for trans-(MeCH=CHCO2)2Pd(C4H9NO)2 as an example. The amination reaction of palladium carbonyl crotonate with a secondary amine, morpholine, has been studied for the first time. The reaction involves disproportionation of Pd(I) into Pd(0) and Pd(II) and leads to the first unsaturated palladium(II) carbamoyl carboxylate—palladium carbamoyl crotonate trans-(OC4H8NH)2Pd[OC4H8NC(=O)](MeCH=CHCO2) · H2O, as well as to trans-M2Pd(MeCH=CHCO2)2 and (C4H10NO)+(MeCH=CHCO2)−. The structures of these compounds have been proved by X-ray crystallography.

The Ba–Co and Ba–Zn heterometallic 3D-polymers [BaM(H2O)5(Me2mal)2]n, where Me2mal2− is the dimethylmalonic acid dianion, MII = Co (1), Zn (2), were synthesized by the reactions of CoSO4 or Zn(OAc)2, respectively, with Ba(OH)2 in water. The thermal dehydration of 1 and 2 occurs in one step. A kinetic model for the dehydration of complexes 1 and 2 is proposed. Crystalline BaCoO3−x and BaZnO2 were formed as a result of solid state thermolysis of 1 and 2 under the following conditions: air flow rate 60 ml/min, heating rate 10 °C/min up to t = 800 °C (1) or 750 °C (2), followed by storage for 12 h at the same temperatures.

This article concerns novel data for the chemical composition (rare-earth and trace elements) of igneous rocks that developed in the central part of the Fiolent Cape. The possible geodynamic settings of magmatism are discussed.

The interaction in the system Bi(NO3)3-K3HCit-(H2O + glycerol) was studied by chemical analysis and pH titration over a wide range of ratios between the initial components. Solid phases of the compositions Bi(OH)3−3x HCit x · nH2O and KBiCit · H2O were isolated and investigated by X-ray powder diffraction and differential thermal analyses and IR spectroscopy. The effect of the chemical nature of the alkali metal on the solubility in the system under consideration was demonstrated.
