This article presents the development of a Generic Object Oriented Substation Event (GOOSE) message traffic prediction system using a Nonlinear Autoregressive Model with Exogenous Input (NARX) input. An Artificial Neural Network was adopted to detect Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks in networks using the IEC-61850 protocol. The system uses the OpenFlow protocol to split the multicast groups of GOOSE messages, in which each transmission is analysed separately. The implemented intelligent system used 62 prediction steps with a percentage relative error of up to 5%. The system was embedded in the ZYBO development platform with the OpenMul controller. The results showed that the percentage relative error of each sample presents a determinant signature for classifying the state of operation of the electrical system, making it possible to identify DDoS attacks in communication networks for electric power substations.

In the present work, we introduce the Lambert-Kaniadakis W κ function. It is a generalization of the Lambert W function that solves the equation W κ ( z ) exp κ ⁡ ( W κ ( z ) ) = z , where exp κ ⁡ ( z ) is the κ-exponential, a generalization of the exponential function proposed by Kaniadakis. Following, the W κ function is used in the definition of the κ-disentropy. Analytical results and numerical calculations of W κ are shown, as well some applications of the κ-disentropy are discussed.

Individuals with phenylketonuria (PKU, OMIM 261600) have shown bone disease from childhood. Factors such as non-adherence to treatment, nutritional inadequacy, and high phenylalanine levels are associated with bone disease in several studies. This research aimed to describe the impact of dietary factors (consumption of energy, protein, calcium, phosphorus, and phenylalanine), and the control of plasma phenylalanine levels on bone age (BA) and bone mineral density (BMD). Thirteen patients of both genders, from 8 to 16 years old participated in this study. Control data were collected of phenylalanine levels, food frequency and record, hand and fist X-rays, and spinal bone densitometry. In children group (CG), individuals non-adherent to diet (NAD) consumed lower amounts of calcium (472 ± 100 mg/day) and energy (1743 ± 486 Kcal); they had higher rates of phenylalanine (564 ± 94 μmol/L) in blood, intake phenylalanine (701 ± 334 mg/g), and higher protein intake from free foods (14 ± 6.67 g/day); bone age (BA) values higher than the chronological age (CA) and less BMD values (−0.7 ± 1.6 SD) also were verified. In adolescent group (AG, N = 8) of NAD, values were lower for energy intake (1379 ± 258 Kcal), calcium (801 ± 152 mg/day), phosphorus (657 ± 102 mg/day), food protein (25 ± 7.6 g/day), and intake phenylalanine (1067 ± 382 mg/day) than recommended. Higher levels of plasma phenylalanine (851 ± 244 μmol/L), bone age greater than chronological age and lower BMD values (−2.4 ± −2.5 SD) were observed. The results suggest effects on BA and on BMD, in both children and adolescent groups. The bone development is expressed differently in children and adolescents. The non-adherence to the diet verified in both groups and the consequent imbalance in the nutrients intake involved in bone metabolism suggest that these factors influence the failure to thrive in children and reduced bone mineralization in adolescents.

RESUMO – E essencial conhecer os parâmetros reologicos de substâncias de interesse da industria. Na ciencia de alimentos o estudo da reologia e fundamental para o projeto de equipamentos e para o monitoramento e controle de qualidade durante o processamento, uma vez que estao diretamente relacionados a propriedades como textura e aceitacao sensorial. Esse trabalho teve como objetivo a determinacao de parâmetros de modelos reologicos para o melaco de cana-de-acucar e do leite de coco utilizando um reometro eletronico. Os valores da tensao de cisalhamento foram obtidos a cada 10 segundos, com uma variacao da taxa de deformacao de 600 a 900 s-1 para o leite de coco e 1 a 50 s-1 para o melaco de cana. As medidas foram realizadas em duplicata. Foi observado um comportamento nao linear para o leite de coco, o que o caracteriza como um fluido nao-Newtoniano. Ja para o melaco de cana, foi observado um comportamento linear no reograma, caracteristico de um fluido Newtoniano.

The anova indicated a general correlation between the cytotoxicity of the materials and the time after mixing, with some level of dependence on the cell viability assay employed. All materials had high cytotoxic levels for human primary cells, mostly on a time-dependent basis, as shown by three different cell viability tests.

The present work describes the fractionation of the crude hexane extract (EBHEX) from Calophyllum brasiliense (Clusiaceae) stem bark. Derivatization of DCM(2-9) fraction with diazomethane afforded the chromanones inophylloidic acid, isobrasiliensic acid, as well as, a mixture containing isobrasiliensic and brasiliensic acids, in the form of their more stable O-methoxy-methyl esters derivatives 1, 2, and 3, respectively. The isolation of 1 from C. brasiliense is described for the first time herein. The use of two-dimensional NMR methods ((1)H-COSY, HMQC, and HMBC) allowed the precise determination of (13)C and (1)H chemical shifts of compounds 1, 2, and 3.

Background: Diagnostic laparoscopy has been used in abdominal trauma patients, although its role is not well defined. The safety of laparoscopic evaluation in trauma patients with severe intraabdominal hemorrhage has not yet been analyzed. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the hemodynamic and metabolic effects of CO2 pneumoperitoneum (COI) in hemorrhaged animals through a retroperitoneal hematoma (RH). Methods: Twenty-two 15–20-kg mongrel dogs were monitored for systemic and pulmonary hemodynamics, inferior vena cava pressure, and arterial blood gases. After 1 h of baseline, all animals were submitted to a RH. After 45 min the dogs were randomized into two groups. Control (CTR): dogs were submitted only to a RH; pneumoperitoneum (PN): dogs were submitted to a RH and 45 min later they were insufflated to an intraabdominal pressure of 10 mmHg with medical-grade CO2 gas for 30 min. Echocardiography was performed, only in PN animals, at baseline, 45 and 60 min after RH. Results: RH induced a shock condition with low, sustained levels of arterial pressure, cardiac index, left ventricular stroke index, base excess, and oxygen delivery which were further depressed following COI. Three deaths occurred in the PN group, all of them toward the end of COI. During COI, hypercapnia was observed in one animal. COI did not impair systolic function or ejection fraction. Conclusions: COI with an IAP of 10 mmHg may be deleterious in animals with hemorrhagic shock due to an intraabdominal lesion. These findings could be clinically significant in abdominal trauma patients.

Gastrointestinal bleeding accounts for 2% of all adult hospital admissions each year. Vascular ectasia is one of the most frequently reported cause of lower gastrointestinal bleeding. In almost 80% of patients with bleeding vascular ectasia will stop spontaneously, but will often recur. Many treatments are proposed like superselective catheterization with infusion of vasoconstrictor by angiography, Laser photocoagulation, heater probe, bipolar electrocoagulation, hot biopsy forceps, have been used in colonoscopy, but some effects are short-lived others are so expensive and without an effective treatment. The authors present one case of bleeding vascular ectasia during colonoscopy submitted to a new, cheap and effective approach with injection a 1:10,000 solution of epinephrine following electrocoagulation by colonoscopy.
