The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of lower limb and trunk segments on the flat and 5° slope running of male subjects in their early 20s. The kinematic variables of the lower limb and the trunk segment were investigated and the correlation between the two types of trunk model Ⅰ and trunk model Ⅱ was investigated. The following conclusions are obtained. First, there was a statistically significant difference in the leg joints in the weight-absorbed area according to inclination. Especially, the knee joints showed high level running and the hip joints showed high level of 5°slope running. Second, there was a difference in the inter pretation of the kinetic energy of the trunk generated by the trunk model two types. In the case of trunk model I, there was a statistically significant correlation between the trunk energy and the hip joint in the weight absorbing zone and the propulsive zone in the flat running. The 5°sploe running showed a significant correlation in the body weight absorbing zone. In case of trunk model Ⅱ, there was a statistically high correlation between the upper body of the torso and the knee joint in the flat running, and there was a significant correlation in the lower body of the torso and the knee joint in 5° slope running. From the above results, it is found that the hip and the knee joint affect the running exercise according to the inclination from the kinematic analysis of the upper body of the trunk and the lower extremity. Therefore, the upper and lower parts of the trunk should be strategically considered for efficiency and effectiveness in applying exercise techniques and training in hip joint and knee joints in terms of power output and energy efficiency.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate the biomechanical properties of shock absorption strategy and postural stability during the drop landing for each types. Methods : The motions were captured with Vicon Motion Capture System, with the fourteen infra-red cameras (100Hz) and synchronized with GRF(ground reaction force) data(1000Hz). Ten male soccer players performed a drop landing with single-leg and bi-legs on the 30cm height box. Dependent variables were the CoM trajectory and the Joint Moment. Statistical computations were performed using the paired t-test and ANOVA with Turkey HSD as post-hoc. Results : The dominant leg was confirmed to show a significant difference between the left leg and right leg as the inverted pendulum model during Drop Landing(Phase 1 & Phase 2). One-leg drop landing type had the higher CoM displacement, the peak of joint moment with the shock absorption than Bi-leg landing type. As a lower extremity joint kinetics analysis, the knee joint showed a function of shock absorption in the anterior-posterior, and the hip joint showed a function of the stability and shock absorption in the medial-lateral directions. Conclusion : These findings indicate that the instant equilibrium of posture balance(phase 1) was assessed by the passive phase as Class 1 leverage on the effect of the stability of shock absorption(phase 2) assessed by the active phase on the effect of Class 2 leverage. Application : This study shows that the cause of musculo-skeletal injuries estimated to be focused on the passive phase of landing and this findings could help the prevention of lower damage from loads involving landing related to the game of sports.

[Purpose] This study was designed to test the effects of the Assistant Chair-Desk System (ACDS), which can reduce the forward tilt of the neck and trunk and the level of fatigue during long lasting study in the sitting position. [Subjects] Fourteen middle school students and 14 college students of mixed gender participated in this study. [Methods] Fatigue level, the trapezius muscle, and the forward tilt angle of the head and trunk as well as distance factors were assessed before after using a normal chair-desk system (NCDS) and the ACDS for 120 minutes. [Results] There was an interaction effect in the angle and length of the neck from the sitting posture changes after 2 hours of studying using the NCDS and ACDS. There were also significant differences in the fatigue levels, hip joint angles and the lengths from the head according to the main effects of the chair-systems. [Conclusion] The studying position while using the ACDS was determined to prevent significant fatigue levels of the muscle and body, provide support to the head, by limiting the forward movement of the neck, and prevent forward tilt of the neck and trunk, by enabling the target point and gaze to be closer to the horizontal direction.

The purpose of this study was to assess the inter-segmental trunk motion during which multi-segmental movements of the spinal column was designed to interpret the effect of segmentation on the total measured spine motion. Also it analyzed the relative motion at three types of the spine models in drop landing. The purposes of this study were to assess dynamic stability toward pelvis-spine column distortion during running and to compare the typical three-dimensional angular kinematics of the trunk motion; cervical, thoracic, lumbar segment spine and the pelvis from the multi-segmental spine model between exercise group and non-exercise group. Subjects were recruited as exercise healthy women on regular basis (group A, n=10) and non-exercise idiopathic scoliosis women (group B, n=10). Data was collected by using a vicon motion capture system (MX-T40, UK). The pelvis, spine segments column and lower limbs analysiaed through the 3D kinematic angular ROM pattern. There were significant differences in the time-space variables, the rotation motion of knee joint in lower limbs and the pelvis variables; obliquity in side bending, inter/outer rotation in twisting during running leg movement. The present study examined the technical characteristics of sliding performance from push-off until stone release in curling delivery. Five elite performance level curlers (> 7 years experience) and five subelite level curlers (< 3 years experience) were analyzed during the action of delivery of a curling stone. The joint angles, angular velocities, and moments of the body center of mass (COM) were determined based on three-dimensional kinematic data. The plantar pressure data were measured using a validated in-shoe system. The results indicated that the gliding time and horizontal velocity of the mass center of the body during the sliding phase were not significantly different between the elite and subelite groups. However, there were significant differences in the gliding distance and the rate of changes in velocity profiles of body COM between the two groups. The moment of the body COM from its relative position to the ankle of the support limb in the anterior/posterior direction was positive in elite curlers and negative in subelite curlers. In addition, larger ankle dorsiflexion and greater contact area of the sliding foot were observed in elite curlers. These data suggest a superior ability of elite curlers to maintain a regulated movement speed and balance control during the performance of a curling stone delivery.

The obtained conclusion were as follows: In this study, during the propulsion classify two groups as "type Ⅰ" the acceleration patterns S3, S4 and "type Ⅱ" the uniform velocity group S1, S2, S5.The results of percentage comparative analysis between type Ⅰand typeⅡ can be summarized as below: the height of jump(24%), the height of COM(25%), the maximum speed of Roundhouse Kick(21%), the judging technical score(18%), the flight time(13%), the velocity of spi ns(4%), the distance of flight(-6%) Analysis of the results on performance variables, the velocity pattern of the type Ⅰshowed comparatively excellence than that of type Ⅱ. The present study examined the effects of basal ganglia and cerebellar pathology on bimanual coordination using patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) and cerebellar dysfunction (CD). Twenty patients with idiopathic PD (10 untreated early and 10 advanced PD), 10 patients with cerebellar degeneration, and 11 normal subjects were instructed to perform in-phase and anti-phase bimanual coordination movements. The results indicated that while the quality of coordinated bimanual movements in untreated early PD and CD patients was not significantly different from that of normal controls, advanced PD patients exhibited reduced synchronized coordination during the faster anti-phase mode. This suggests that the observed bimanual coordination abnormalities in PD are not an early sign of the pathophysiology of the disease, and cerebellar degeneration may have minimal consequences on synchronized coordination between the limbs. In terms of the parameterization of individual limb movements, CD patients showed a tendency for hypermetric impairments with more irregular movements, while PD patients exhibited relatively slower limb movements and lower amplitudes than normal controls. Overall, the current data provide evidence of the specific functions of different neural structures involved in the pathological process of PD and CD on bimanual coordination.
