Abstract

Comprehensive studies of magnetic properties of GdCr3(BO3)4 single crystal have been carried out. The integrals of intrachain and interchain exchange interactions in the chromium subsystem have been determined and the strength of Cr-Gd exchange interaction has been estimated. The values of the exchange field and the effective magnetic anisotropy field of GdCr3(BO3)4 have been estimated. The electric polarization along the a axis in the longitudinal geometry of the experiment has been detected. Correlations between the electric polarization and the magnetization of the studied compound have been found. The spin-reorientation phase transition in the magnetically ordered state has been found. This transition exists for the external magnetic field applied along any crystallographic direction and the transition field depends weakly on the direction of the field. The nature of the spin-reorientation phase transition has been discussed. Magnetic phase diagram has been constructed and spin configurations for the low-field and high-field phases have been proposed., Comment: 31 pages, 14 figures

Abstract

A Multi-gap Resistive Plate Chamber (MRPC) equipped with heaters to improve the counting rate capability was designed for the BM@N experiment in Dubna. The measurements were performed using a muon beam at IHEP U-70 accelerator in Protvino. The MRPC at 40$^0$C tolerates counting rate up to 6 kHz/cm$^2$ with time resolution ~65 ps and efficiency ~95\% which complies with the conditions of the experiment., Comment: 7 pages, 13 figures

Abstract

First results of a soft photon yield in nucleus-nuclear interactions at 3.5 GeV per nucleon are presented. These photons have been registered at Nuclotron (LHEP, JINR) by an electromagnetic calorimeter built in the SVD Collaboration. Abstract

Neutral pion number N0 distributions for each total number of particles in event Ntot=Nch+N0 are obtained. The scaled variance of neutral pion fluctuations, omega=D/, is measured. The fluctuations increase at Ntot >22. Abstract

Project Thermalization (Experiment SERP-E-190 at IHEP) is aimed to study the proton - proton interactions at 50 GeV with large number of secondary particles. In this report the experimentally measured topological cross sections are presented taking into account the detector response and procession efficiency. These data are in good agreement with gluon dominance model. The comparison with other models is also made and shows no essential discrepancies., Comment: 7 pages, 7 figures, 2 tables. Abstract

Two-particle correlations have been measured for identified π- from central 158 A GeV Pb+Pb collisions and fitted radii of about 7 fm in all dimensions have been obtained. A multi-dimensional study of the radii as a function of kT is presented, including a full correction for the resolution effects of the apparatus. The cross term R2out-long of the standard fit in the Longitudinally CoMoving System (LCMS) and the vL parameter of the generalised Yano-Koonin fit are compatible with 0, suggesting that the source undergoes a boost invariant expansion. The shapes of the correlation functions in Qinv and Qspace = √Q2x + Q2y + Q2z have been analyzed in detail. They are not Gaussian but better represented by exponentials. As a consequence fitting Gaussians to these correlation functions may produce different radii depending on the acceptance of the experimental setup used for the measurement.

Abstract

The composition of alloying elements for the basis of the metal composition is analyzed. The chemical composition of economically alloyed maraging steels for operation under conditions of impact-abrasive wear has been determined. The most promising alloying elements are manganese and chromium. The content of manganese up to 7% of the mass and chromium in the amount of 12% of the mass is optimal for surfacing products operating in conditions of impact-abrasive wear. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

The paper presents a flux crystal growth technique, studies of the structural peculiarities and the optical absorption spectra of double orthoborate TbCr3(BO3)4 with a huntite structure. The intensities of the phonon modes were used to determine the ratios of the rhombohedral and monoclinic polytypes for this compound, depending on the growth conditions. The broadband absorption spectra of the Tb3+ ions in TbCr3(BO3)4 single crystals were studied in the temperature range from room temperature to 3.0 K. From them, the energies of the crystal-field levels of the Tb3+ ion were determined. The temperature dependence of the absorption spectra of the Er3+ probe ion in TbCr3(BO3)4:Er(1%) shows that there are two phase transitions and agrees with their previously proposed interpretation: at 8.8 K, the chromium subsystem antiferromagnetically orders, and at 5 K, a reorientation of chromium magnetic moments occurs. Abstract

In this paper, we report the conditions and results of the synthesis of solid solutions and flux growth of single crystals with the general formula La1 −x–yTbxEuyMgB5O10 from a K2Mo3O10-based high-temperature solution. The structural properties, composition, thermal characteristics, Tb3+ and Eu3+ luminescence spectra, and excitation spectra of the solid solutions have been studied in the ranges 0.2 < x < 0.7 and 0.1 < y < 0.6. Abstract

A transparent Yb:YMgB5O10 single crystal with dimensions up to 25×23×25 mm was grown. Absorption cross-section spectra were produced. The luminescence spectra of the Yb: YMgB5O10 crystal were measured in the spectral range of 950–1100 nm. The luminescence kinetics of the 2F5/2 energy level were investigated and the lifetime was determined.

Abstract

Introduction. The hormonal system “vitamin D/vitamin D receptors” (VD/VDR) is involved in the regulation of numerous physiological processes. VD lack or deficiency is associated with a number of different diseases, including pregnancy complications.Purpose of the study: to determine VD status and its effect on the course of the gestational process in women from the southern region of Ukraine.Materials and methods. 459 women were examined, 318 (69.3%) of them were the main group and 141 (30.7%) were the comparison group.In addition to standard general clinical examinations, ELISA on a COBAS Integra 400 Plus analyzer (Roche Diagnostics, Switzerland) the VD level was determined in the blood.Results and discussion. 49.9% of the pregnant women in the main group had insufficient VD level (25.45 ± 4.63 ng/ml), in 19.4% it corresponded to a deficit (15.28 ± 4.78 ng/ml). Обследовано 459 женщин, из которых 318 (69,3%) составили основную группу, 141 (30,7%) – группу сравнения. Кроме стандартных общеклинических обследований, методом иммуноферментного анализа на анализаторе COBAS Integra 400 Plus (Roche Diagnostics, Швейцарія) в крови определяли уровень витамина D.Результаты и обсуждение. В основной группе у 49,9% из 459 беременных уровень витамина D был недостаточным (25,45 ± 4,63 нг/мл), у 19,4% соответствовал дефициту (15,28 ± 4,78 нг/мл). В группе сравнения концентрация витамина D составила 43,38 ± 9,67 нг/мл (p < 0,01). Достоверно более частыми осложнениями беременности в основной группе были угроза прерывания (45,6% против 9,9%; F = 0,00001; p < 0,01), преэклампсия (13,5% против 2,8%; F = 0,0093; p < 0,05), плацентарная дисфункция (32% против 7%; F = 0,00001; p < 0,01), вагинальный дисбиоз (64,4% против 18,4%; F = 0,00001; p < 0,01), анемия беременных (43,7% против 20,6%; F = 0,0008; p < 0,01) и признаки воспаления околоплодных оболочек (38,3% против 13,4%). Синдром внутриутробной задержки роста диагностирован у 9% женщин основной группы, в группе сравнения не отмечалось ни одного случая.Выводы. У 70% беременных в Одесском регионе имеется недостаточность или дефицит витамина D. Течение беременности характеризуется достоверно большей частотой преэклампсии (в 4,8 раза чаще), плацентарной дисфункцией (в 4,5 раза чаще), угрозой невынашивания (в 4,6 раза чаще), внутриутробным инфицированием (в 2,8 раза чаще), гестационной анемией (в 2,5 раза чаще). Дальнейшие исследования возможностей профилактики осложнений гестационного процесса путем коррекции статуса витамина D позволяют говорить о перспективности данного направления., Вступ. Гормональна система «вітамін D/рецептори вітаміну D» бере участь в регуляції численних фізіологічних процесів. Недостатність або дефіцит вітаміну D асоціюються з низкою різних захворювань, в тому числі з ускладненнями вагітності. Метою дослідження було визначення статусу вітаміну D і його впливу на перебіг гестаційного процесу в жінок південного регіону України.Матеріали та методи.
