Introduction The secretome, also known as conditioned medium, is a collection of proteins and other molecules secreted by Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), has been increasingly studied for its potential applications in dermatology practice. However, there has been limited bibliometric analysis to understand the global trends in this field. The objective of this study is to analyze the global trends and publication activity related to secretome in dermatology practice through bibliometrics analysis. Methods A systematic search was performed using the Web of Science Core Collection database to identify relevant publications on secretome in dermatology practice from 2003 to 2023. Statistical analyses were performed using Excel and VOSviewer software. Various bibliometric indicators were analyzed to evaluate the publication trends, research topics, and collaboration networks. Results A total of 304 articles with H-index 45 and 20,74 citations per paper related to secretome in dermatology practice were identified. The annual publication output showed an upward trend, with a peak in 2022. The United States (57) had the highest number of publications, followed by China (37) and Germany (37). The most common research topics were wound healing, skin regenerative & rejuvenation, inflammatory skin diseases, skin cancer and hair growth. For promising hotspots, “exosomes and regenerative medicine” showed the highest, followed by “senescence”, “photoaging”, and “wound repair”. Conclusion Our bibliometric analysis demonstrates that secretome research in dermatology practice has been an increasingly studied field with potential applications in the development of novel therapeutics for skin disorders. Introduction Atrophic acne scars pose significant cosmetic and psychological challenges for individuals. Various treatment modalities have been explored, including fractional CO2 laser therapy and topical insulin, which have shown promising efficacy in scar remodelling and tissue regeneration. The objective of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of a novel therapy utilizing a combination of fractional CO2 laser and topical insulin in treating atrophic acne scars. Methods A total of 19 patients with atrophic acne scars in Palembang were enrolled in this study. The treatment regimen included a combination of fractional CO2 laser therapy and topical insulin application. Treatment sessions were performed once every two weeks for two months. Scar severity was assessed using validated scales, and patient satisfaction and adverse events were recorded. Results The combination of fractional CO2 laser and topical insulin therapy demonstrated promising results in treating atrophic acne scars with significant developments in all outcome variables (Goodman and Baron score, visual analog scale, and quality of life index in dermatology). Significant improvements in scar severity and patient satisfaction scores were observed at the end of the treatment period (at six weeks), with minimal reported adverse events. There is no significant result for random blood sugar with topical insulin influencing blood sugar systemic. Conclusion A combination of fractional CO2 laser and topical insulin therapy has been proven effective in treating acne atrophic scars. Background Melasma is a commonly acquired pigmentary disorder, appearing as brown macules and patches on sun-exposed areas of the face and neck. Many treatments have been attempted to reduce melasma, however no universally impact procedure to promising results. In recent studies, tranexamic acid (TXA) oral, injection, or topical has been used for treating/reducing melasma with promising results. Tranexamic acid has main effect for skin as a whitening effect either systematically or topically preparation. We aim to to provide the latest evidence on the clinical efficacy of TXA in the treatment of melasma by pooling data from cohort studies. Methods We performed a comprehensive search on topics that assesses tranexamic acid to reduce melasma from inception up until May 2023. Results There were 21 studies out of a total of 1167 patients reported the changes of MASI/mMASI score after using oral, topical, and injection TXA at 4 weeks, 8 weeks, and 12 weeks. The pooled analysis showed the significantly of reduction in melasma area severity index/modified melasma area severity index (MASI/mMasi) scores at 4 weeks (MD: 3.58; 95% CI, 2.15-5.01;I2 = 92%), 8 weeks (MD: 5.08; 95% CI, 3.34-6.81;I2=96%) and 12 weeks (MD: 4.89; 95% CI, 3.80-5.97;I2=91%) after treatment were all less than the baseline scores, regardless of the delivery route. Conclusion The objective of this thorough examination and analysis is to present the available information regarding the application of TXA as a treatment option for individuals with melasma. Primary palmar hyperhidrosis (PPH) can be challenging for both patient and physician. Botulinum toxin type A (BTX-A) injection has been shown to be useful in treating PPH, whilst it causes pain and discomfort in most of the patient. Keloid and hypertrophic scar are hyperproliferation of dense connective tissue characterized by the growth of fibrotic tissue. The pathogenesis of keloid and hypertrophic scar is still expanding, hence there is no optimal therapy. Laser is one of the modalities of keloid and hypertrophic scar therapy. Laser's modality which can be used for keloid and hypertrophic scar are pulsed dye laser (PDL), carbon dioxide (CO2) lasers, neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd: YAG) lasers, fractional laser as well as laser assisted drug delivery (LADD) techniques. The target of laser is the selective photothermolysis with chromophores of hemoglobin and water. The mechanism of laser causing coagulation necrosis is by generating heat, resulting in neocolagenesis, while LADD is a technique of laser to assist application of drugs, such as triamcinolone acetonide. Benefit of laser is less painful thus can be an option for extensive scar. Genital warts are the most common benign hyperplastic lesions caused by HPV infection. Diagnosis workup of genital warts is based on history, physical examination, acetowhite test, dermoscopy, histopathology and polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Dermoscopy is a non-invasive tool used to enhance the diagnostic accuracy of genital warts. This case report aims to understand the diagnostic role of dermoscopy in pigmented genital warts. A 24 years old female with widespread verrucous, confluent, pigmented papules in the inguinal region bilaterally and labia majora since last 4 months. Acetowhite test was negative. Dermoscopic examination revealed a mosaic pattern with brownish globular area, knob-like, dan finger-like pattern, and glomerular vessels. Histopatological examination showed hyperkeratosis, acanthosis, papillomatosis, and koilocytes, with increased number of melanocytes in the basal layer. The dermoscopic features of genital warts vary according to clinical manifestations and show correlation with histopathologic features. Specific features are mosaic patterns, finger-like patterns, knob-like patterns, with/without dots or globules pigmented area, with dotted, glomerular and hairpin vessels. The mosaic pattern correlated with hyperkeratosis, acanthosis and capillary dilatation in the papillary dermis. The finger-like pattern correlated with papillomatosis, hyperkeratosis, acanthosis, dilatation and elongation of vessels. The identification of specific dermoscopic features in correlation with clinical manifestation and histopathology can be used to establish diagnosis of pigmented genital warts. The purpose of present study was to investigate the impact of achievement emotions during Statistics Class on the use of learning strategies. This study involved 339 of undergraduate students of Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Semarang, who take the statistics class. The hierarchical regression analysis showed that students' enjoyment positively predicted the use of rehearsal, elaboration, and organization learning strategies. In contrast, not all negative emotions have correlation with the use of learning strategies. Boredom positively predicted the use of rehearsal, but negatively predicted the use of elaboration. Then, angry negatively predicted the use of rehearsal. Findings of present study asserted the importance of enjoyment during class to encourage students use the appropriate and adaptive learning strategies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Lower leg hair removal is the method of reducing unwanted lower leg hair. Various technologies for lower leg hair removal include Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), alexandrite laser, and neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd: YAG) laser. Conventional techniques are abandoned because effectiveness of the latest technological therapies has a longer period with minimal side effects. The comparison of successful treatment among IPL, alexandrite laser, and Nd: YAG laser for lower leg hair removal. Two patients, male and female, 28 years old, Fitzpatrick IV skin type. Three areas in the lower legs are marked for IPL 695 nm, fluence 15 J/cm 2 , pulse duration 60 ms; alexandrite 755 nm, fluence 3 J/cm 2 , pulse duration 2 ms, long-pulsed Nd: YAG 1064 nm, fluence 32 J/cm 2 , pulse duration 60 ms. IPL for 3 sessions at 2-week intervals. The alexandrite and Nd: YAG lasers for 3 sessions at 4-week intervals. Successful parameters with hair reduction and Visual Analog Scale (VAS) can be seen from photography and dermoscopy before and after therapy. In the first case, the most effective reduction terminal hair after IPL (95,1%), alexandrite (91,02%) and Nd: YAG (79,69%), respectively. In the second case, the most effective reduction of terminal hair after alexandrite (91,02%), Nd: YAG (79,69%), and IPL (20%), respectively. Hyperpigmentation and the highest VAS score (6-7) are found in the area treated with alexandrite lasers of two patients. Two patients have decreased Dermatology Life Quality Index scores. Nd: YAG laser may be better suitable for both sexes with minimal side effects. A 33-year-old man, Hamilton-Norwood criteria stage III, and a 34-year-old man, Hamilton-Norwood criteria stage IV, were enrolled in this study and were allocated to two different treatments. The first patient was treated with microneedling and platelet-rich plasma (PRP), while the second patient was treated with microneedling and 5% topical minoxidil. Each patient underwent eight sessions of microneedling treatment, with 2 weeks interval for the first 2 months and 4 weeks interval for the next 4 months. We evaluated the patients at the end of 6th month. Significant improvements were observed earlier on the patient who underwent microneedling and PRP treatment with high overall patient satisfaction. There were no serious side effects observed.

A 24-year-old man (Figure 1) and a 22-year-old woman (Figure 2) with atrophic acne scars were enrolled. Each patient underwent four sessions of treatment with intervals of 4 weeks consecutively, each consisting of microneedling followed by platelet-rich plasma (PRP) application on the right side of the face and microneedling alone on the left. Goodman's qualitative scale was used for the final evaluation of the results. The man had grade 4 acne scars on both sides of the face, which became grade 2 on the right side and grade 3 on the left side (Figure 3). The woman had grade 4 acne scars on both sides of the face, which diminished to grade 1 on the right side and grade 2 on the left side (Figure 4). Improvements were observed after the third treatment.
