WOS: 000503273200018 Drug addiction plays an important role in the problems experienced by children and adolescents in developmental risk groups. The programs developed to prevent drug addiction seem to be more on knowledge level. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between drug addiction and life skills in adolescents. In this context, a qualitative research has been conducted in order to demonstrate the attitudes of young people and their families towards substance use/dependence, the motivations of considering and starting narratives. the reasons of starting to drug, the consequences of drug use and the importance of life skills in preventing drug addiction. The data were gathered from 10 separate interviews with a total of 87 people, consisting of parents; (45) and young people (42) with the focus group interviews. The data were analyzed with qualitative data analysis technique using MAXQDA program. As a result of the research, it is found that young people who use drugs have problems with their families, do not have good relations with their families and friends, and they have low school achievement and school loyalty. Among the life skills that young people believe to be effective in preventing drug use are social skills, communication and nurturing relationships in affective domain; , problem solving, resistance to substance and goal setting, health in the field of managing emotions and self-discipline are the most important ones in cognitive domain.

Girişimcilik, küresel ekonomideki büyüme vezenginliğin en önemli itici güçlerinden biridir. Son yıllarda “girişimcilikekosistemi” kavramı gerek sosyal bilimler literatüründe gerekse politikayapıcılar arasında çokça tartışılan çerçevelerden birisi olarak görünmektedir.Bu çalışmada girişimcilik ekosistemi yaklaşımı kullanılarak Türkiye’deekosistem içinde eksik bir bileşen olduğu düşünülen ve sistem içinde faaliyetgösteren firmaların, girişimcilerin ve yenilik alanında çalışan aktörlerinyararlanabileceği bölgesel yenilik merkezlerinin kurulması veya ekosistemde varolan arayüz mekanizmalarının desteklenerek yenilikçi girişimciliğin yetenek,kapasite ve rekabet gücünün artırılmasını amaçlayan yeni bir model önerisisunulmaktadır. Çalışma kapsamında belirtilen amaca ulaşabilmek için sonyıllarda sosyal bilimler alanında önemi gittikçe artan nitel bir araştırmatasarımı/deseni kullanılmıştır. Bu bağlamda çalışmada nitel araştırmadesenlerinden olan ve bir olay ve bağlam arasındaki belirsizliği açığaçıkarmayı hedefleyen durum çalışmasıyöntemi kullanılmış ve bunun içinde veri toplama tekniği olarak da Ar-Ge, yenilikve girişimcilik alanındaki uzmanlarla odak grup görüşmesi yapılmıştır. Toplanannitel veriler, MAXQDA programı aracılılığıyla betimsel ve ilişkisel/içerikselanalize tabi tutularak görselleştirlmiştir. Çalışmadan elde edilen bulgular, kurulmasıöngörülen yenilik merkezlerinin ekosistem içindeki yerini, yapısını,faaliyetlerini ve olası risklerini ortaya koymaktadır. Geliştirilen modele göreTürkiye’nin girişimcilik ekosisteminde yenilik merkezlerine ihtiyaç olduğu vekurulacak merkezlerin hem ulusal kalkınma politikasına hizmet edecek bir yapıolduğu hem de bulundukları bölgenin yenilik ve girişimcilik ekosisteminin etkinşekilde gelişmesine katkı sağlayabileceği düşünülmektedir.

Amaç: İsoproterenol ile in vivo kalp yetmezliği geliştirilmiş ratlarda ilk non peptit yapıda ve spesifik AT2 reseptör agonisti olan compound 21' in kardiyak hasardan koruyucu etkilerini araştırmak ve AT1 reseptör antagonisti olan valsartan ile karşılaştırmak amaçlanmıştır.Gereç ve Yöntem: Bu çalışmada tahmini ağırlıkları 250-400 g olan 56 adet Wistar-Albino ırkı erkek rat kullanılmıştır. Her biri 7 adet olan 8 gruba ayrılmıştır. Grup 1 (SHAM grubu) e herhangi bir ilaç uygulanmadı. Grup 2 (ISO) 180 mg/kg dozunda isoproterenol s.c. 24 saat aralıklarla iki doz uygulandı. Grup 3, Grup 4 ve Grup 5 e sırasıyla valsartan(30 mg/kg per oral) ,Compound 21 (0.03 mg/kg intraperitoneal) ve Valsartan + Compound 21 kombinasyonu 30 gün boyunca verildi. Grup 6, Grup 7 ve Grup 8'e ise sırasıyla Valsartan, Compound 21 ve Valsartan + Compound 21 kombinasyonu aynı uygulama şekli, süresi ve dozunda uygulanıp deneyin 29. ve 30. gününde İsoproterenol (180 mg/kg sc) verildi. Deneyin başlangıcında ve sonunda ratlara transtorasik ekokardiyografi yapıldı. Deney sonlandırılmadan önce karotid artere takılan kanülle kan basıncı, kalp hızı, EKG değişiklikleri kaydedildi. Ratların kalp dokusundan histopatolojik ve biyokimyasal değerlendirmeler yapıldı.Bulgular: Çalışmamızda Compound 21'in kalp yetmezliğinden koruyucu etkisi valsartana üstün bulundu. Ekokardiyografik ve biyokimyasal değerlendirme sonuçlarına göre Compound 21 ve Valsartan kalp yetmezliğinden koruyucu etki gösterdi. Histopatolojik bulgularda ise Compound 21 ve Valsartan + Compound 21 kombine tedavisi sadece valsartan uygulamasına göre kalp yetmezliği gelişimini istatiksel olarak daha fazla azalttı.Sonuç: Bu sonuçlar, Ang II' nin AT1 ve AT2 reseptörleri üzerinden kalp yetmezliğinde önemli bir rol oynadığını desteklemektedir. Valsartanın AT1 reseptörlerine antagonist, compound 21'in AT2 reseptörlerine agonist etki mekanizmaları kalbi AII'nin zararlı etkilerinden korumuştur. Aim: The study aimed to research the protective effects of Compound 21, the first specific non-peptide AT 2 receptor agonist, from cardiac injury in the rats with isoproterenol-induced heart failure in vivo and compare it with valsartan, AT 1 receptor antagonist. Materials and Method: In this study, 56 Wistar albino race male rats (estimated body weights250 to 400 g) were used. They were divided into 8 groups of 7. Group 1 (SHAM group) was not given any drug while Group 2 (ISO group) was injected with two doses of İsoproterenol (180 mg/kg s.c) at intervals of 24 hours. Group 3, Group 4, and Group 5 were administered with Valsartan (30 mg/kg per oral), C21 (0.03 mg/kg intraperitoneal), and the combination of Valsartan and C21 for 30 days respectively. Group 6, Group 7, and Group 8 were subjected to the same administration mode, duration and dose and in the 29th and 30th day of the experiment, İsoproterenol (180 mg/kg s.c) was given. Transthoracic echocardiography was performed in the rats at the beginning and end of the experiment. The blood pressure, heart rate, and EKG alterations were monitored via the carotid artery cannula before ending the experiment. The histopathological and biochemical measurements were made on the cardiac tissue of the rats. Findings: In our study, the protective effect of C21 from heart failure is found to be superior than that of Valsartan. According to the echocardiographic and biochemical measurement results, C21 and Valsartan showed the protective effect from heart failure. In the histopathological findings, the treatment with C21 and the combination of Valsartan and C21 statistically reduced the heart failure progression more than the administration of Valsartan alone did. Result: These results support the hypothesis that Ang II plays a key factor in heart failure via AT 1 and AT 2 receptors. The mechanisms of antagonist action of Valsartan at AT 1 receptors and of agonist action of C21 at AT 2 receptors protect the heart from the harmful effects of AII. 104

Bu tezin konusu siyasal korkunun Türkiye'de akademik hayatın inşa sürecine etkisidir. Ankara'da ve çevre illerde bulunan devlet üniversitelerinde sosyal bilimler alanlarında çalışmakta olan akademisyenlerin siyasal mekanizmalara bağlı olarak geliştirdikleri korkuları ile mevcut siyasal içerikli korkularının onların akademik davranış pratikleri üzerinde ne türden bir güdümleme (manipülasyon) etkisine sahip olduğu üzerinde durulmaktadır. Bu tezin amacı, Türkiye'deki akademik ortamın içinde bulunduğu duygusal iklimi tespit ederek akademik hayatın inşası sürecinde duyguların etkisini ortaya koyabilmektir. Bu tezde yöntem olarak nitel araştırma deseni benimsenmiştir ve 47 akademisyenle derinlemesine görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Görüşmeler MAXQDA 12 ile analiz edilmiştir. Bu tez çalışmasının sonucunda ise, akademisyenlerin siyasal korkulara sahip oldukları tespit edilmiştir. Akademisyenler iş güvencesizliği, etiketlenme gibi durumlardan korkmaktadırlar. Korkularının bağlı bulunduğu en önemli tehdit unsuru ise, akademisyenlerin çevrelerinde bulunan diğer akademisyenlerin yaşadığı baskı ve soruşturmalar olarak gösterilebilir. Bu korkuları akademisyenleri çalışma hayatlarında içselleşmiş bir ihtiyata itmektedir. Sonuç olarak, Türkiye'de akademik hayatın inşa sürecinde siyasal korkuların varlığı önemli bir etkiye sahiptir. The dissertation topic is the influence of the fear of politics on the construction of the academic life in Turkey. It is focused on the political fears of the academics working on social science at the public universities at Ankara and its environment, and affects of the current political fears on their practices. The aim of the dissertation is to detect the emotional climate in the academic environment in Turkey and to set out the effects of emotions in the construction of the academic life. The qualitative research method is adopted in dissertation and in-depth interviews were done with 47 academics. The interviews were analysed by MAXQDA 12. As a result of this thesis, the academics have many political fears. Academics are afraid of job insecurity and be labelled. The most important threat to them is the political pressures which other academics experienced. These fears are pushing them to the internalized precautionary in the working life. Finally, the political fears affect on the construction of the academic life in Turkey. 154

Social Problems, the flagship journal of the Society for the Study of Social Problems (SSSP) established in 1951, continues to make invaluable contributions to current sociology. A prominent reference source for researchers from all around the world, this journal enables scholars to follow the academic discussions, topics, trends, and policies in the field. The main objective of SSSP’s journal is to provide an open space for discussion of social problems as well as to contribute to the formulation of social policies regarding these issues. Henslin and Roesti (1976) conducted a content analysis covering all the articles published in Social Problems between the years 1952 and 1975 with the aim of designating what social problem topics were included, their comparative frequency in various time periods, and their related trends. In this study, Henslin and Roesti (1976) also presented an analysis of the articles in terms and trends of the policy suggestions as well as the target audience to whom the policies were directed. Deriving inspiration from Henslin and Roesti’s study, and as a follow-up, this current research analyzes the articles published between the years 1976 and 2012 in Social Problems, acknowledging the journal’s worldwide appeal for researchers particularly involved in the sociology of social problems. In other words, to complement the analysis of published articles between 1952 and 1975, the authors aimed at making a content analysis in a new context, now dealing with the articles published during 1976 and 2012. However, the content analysis in this current study was particularly conducted on the sociological studies published in the journal. The researchers utilized MAXQDA software to analyze the content of articles published in sociology, and in other related disciplines in conjunction with sociology. The main purpose of this content analysis was to create an outline of the articles published in the journal, constructing a general profile of Social Problems between 1976 and 2012. It was this study’s objective to determine, in this time period, which social problem topics were included in these articles, the trends of the topics, distribution by country regarding research on social problem topics, the methods and techniques used in the studies, and the theoretical explanations utilized in the studies, as well as the interpretation of the study’s findings.Key Words: Social problems, ‘Journal of Social Problems’ , MAXQDA, Social Problems dergisi önemli sosyal problemleri tartışmak ve bunlara ilişkin sosyal politikaların formülasyonuna katkıda bulunmak hedefi ile 1951 yılında kurulan Sosyal Problemleri Çalışma Topluluğu (The Society for the Study of Social Problems) (SSSP)’nun resmi dergisidir. Bu tez çalışması etnik unsurlar arasındaki farklılaşmaya ait kavramsallaştırmaların kültürel aktarma yolu ile bir sonraki kuşağa nasıl aktarıldığını görebilmek için, etnisitenin yazılmadığı ama yaşandığı bir dönem olan Klasik Dönemde birlikte yaşamanın/yaşayabilmenin örneklerini aramak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bu bağlamda Klasik Dönem Osmanlı İmparatorluğuna ait toplumsal kabullere, kültürel değerlere ve sosyal sınıflandırmaya yönelik yapısal bir okumayı da içermektedir.Yapılan bu tez çalışması 16 ve 17. yüzyıllar içerisinde yazılmış bir kısım kaynağı kapsamaktadır. Bu bağlamda da Osmanlı İmparatorluğunun çok dilli, çok dinli ve çok kültürlü bir politik sistemi içinde barındırması dolayısıyla grup kimlikleri üzerinden etnik aidiyetler incelenmiştir.Bu tez çalışmasında ?içerik analizi? yöntem olarak seçilmiştir. İçerik analizi, dil ile inşa edilen ve yazılı hale getirilmiş iletişim üzerinde odaklanarak sistematik çıkarımlar yapmayı hedefleyen bir tekniktir. Aynı zamanda yazılı metinler aracılığıyla yazılı olmayan sosyal gerçekliğe ulaşmayı hedefleyen bir tekniktir.Bu tez çalışması neticesinde ulaşılan sonuçlar `görünürlük' kavramı bağlamında değerlendirilmiştir. İncelenen eserlere göre dönemin etnik aidiyetlerine yönelik tablolar çıkartılarak kavramların görünürlüğü tartışılmıştır. Bu değerlendirme esnasında öncelikle araştırmanın kavramsal çerçevesi incelenen kaynaklar ve kullanılan araştırma metodu bağlamında ele alınmış; ardından araştırmaya yön veren kavramların bir sosyal tarih çalışması için uygunluğu ve uygulanabilirliği gözden geçirilmiştir. This thesis study has been prepared in order to observe the conceptualism belonging to the differentiation between the ethnic factors and how these are handed over to a latter generation by means of cultural transfer, with the aim of searching for samples of living/ or being able to live together in the Classical Period in which ethnicity was not written but lived out. In this context, this thesis also includes a structural reading based on communal acceptance, cultural values, and social classification of the Ottoman Empire pertaining to the Classical Period.This thesis study that has been prepared covers a part of some sources written in the 16?Th and 17?Th Centuries. Within this context, the ethnic belonging has been examined by looking at the identity groups of the Ottoman Empire, as the Ottoman Empire harbors a multi language, multi religious and multi cultural political system within itself.?Content Analysis? has been chosen as a method in this thesis study. Content Analysis is a technique structured with care and is focused on written communication, aiming to establish systematic implications. It is also a technique that aims to reach an unwritten social reality through written texts.The results that have been attained through this thesis study have been evaluated in terms of the context of ?Visibility?. The ethnic belongings of the period have been extracted in accordance with the examined works and the visibility of these concepts has been discussed. During this evaluation, first of all, the conceptual framework has been handled in terms of resources and the research methods used and following this, the compatibility and the applicability for the social history studies shaping this research has been scrutinized. 94
