With the rapid development of miniaturization, high power and high integration of electronic components, multifunctional materials have attracted tremendous attention. Herein, the multifunctional aramid nanofibers@polypyrrole (ANF@PPy) composite films are prepared through a facile vacuum filtration method after the an in-situ polymerization of PPy on the surface of ANF, which are applied in broadband frequency electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding, wearable sensor, Joule heating, photothermal conversion. ANF@PPy-4 composite film with thin thickness of 46 µm displays excellent EMI shielding effectiveness (EMI SE) of 35 dB for C-band, X-band, Ku-band and K-band of electromagnetic wave. Furthermore, the relative resistance variation of ANF@PPy-4 composite film can be recorded for monitoring human motions, such as finger, wrist, elbow, knee, ankle, forearm and throat (vocal cord vibration). In addition, the saturation temperature of ANF@PPy-4 composite film is about 77 ºC at a low working voltage of 5.0 V. Moreover, temperature of ANF@PPy-4 composite film can reach to 54 ºC via the photothermal conversion under one sun irradiation. Multifunctional ANF@PPy composite films show enormous potential application of broadband frequency EMI shielding, wearable sensor, personal thermal management.

Multiferroic materials with the cross-coupling of magnetic and ferroelectric orders provide a new platform for physics study and designing novel electronic devices. However, the weak coupling strength of ferroelectricity and magnetism is the main obstacle for potential applications. The recent research focuses on enhancing the coupling effect via synthesizing novel materials in a chemical route or tuning the multiferroicity in the physical way. Aims: The aim of this study was to investigate the expression patterns and prognostic value of microRNA-517b-3p (miR-517b-3p) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients with portal vein tumor thrombus (PVTT).Methods: Expression of miR-517b-3p in PVTT tissues and cells was estimated using qRT-PCR. The significance of miR-517b-3p were explored by Kaplan-Meier survival analysis, Cox regression assay and ROC analysis. Cell experiments were performed to examine the functional role of miR-517b-3p during progression of PVTT. The Biological process and Biological pathway analysis analyses were conducted through GSEA and FunRich. The protein-protein interaction (PPI) network of the DEGs was established through cBioPortal website. Results: miR-517b-3p upregulated in both PVTT tissues and cells compared with the controls. The upregulated miR-517b-3p served as a potential diagnostic biomarker to distinguish PVTT from PT and controls, associated with poor overall survival and acted as an independent prognostic factor. The cell proliferation, migration and invasion were proved to be enhanced by overexpression of miR-517b-3p. Wnt/β-catenin signaling was suppressed by miR-517b-3p knockdown and might be involved in progression of PVTT. Conclusion: miR-517b-3p may promote PVTT cell proliferation, migration and invasion via activating Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. miR-517b-3p overexpression in PVTT samples, and serves as a candidate diagnostic and prognostic biomarker in HCC patients with PVTT.

Scientific interest in the relationship between analytic processing and creativity has increased in recent years. However, there is conflicting evidence on whether analytic processing reduces or enhances creativity. We hypothesize that differences in creativity measurement paradigms (divergent or convergent thinking tasks) and the research orientation of analytic processing (dispositional or situational) may explain the conflicting findings. The present study aims to investigate how priming analytic processing affects individuals’ performance on divergent and convergent thinking tasks and the moderating role of thinking styles. In Study 1 (N = 155), participants were assigned to either an analytic processing group or a control group and performed convergent thinking (Remote Associates Task) and divergent thinking (Alternative Uses Test) tasks after priming. In Study 2 (N = 119), we conducted a priming paradigm of analytic processing that differed from Study 1, and a personal experiential-rational thinking style was introduced as a moderator. Results showed that priming analytic processing promoted convergent thinking performance but decreased fluency and flexibility scores on the divergent thinking task (Study 1). Notably, the effect of priming analytic processing on divergent thinking performance was significant only for participants with higher levels of rational thinking style (Study 2). These results suggest that thinking styles and dimensions of creativity should be considered in the relationship between analytic processing and creativity.

Controlling the magnetic anisotropy of ferromagnetic materials plays a key role in magnetic switching devices and spintronic applications. Examples of spin-orbit torque devices with different magnetic anisotropy geometries (in-plane or out-of-plane directions) have been demonstrated with novel magnetization switching mechanisms for extended device functionalities. Normally, the intrinsic magnetic anisotropy in ferromagnetic materials is unchanged within a fixed direction, and thus, it is difficult to realize multifunctionality devices. Therefore, continuous modulation of magnetic anisotropy in ferromagnetic materials is highly desired but remains challenging. Here, we demonstrate a gate-tunable magnetic anisotropy transition from out-of-plane to canted and finally to in-plane in layered Fe5GeTe2 by combining the measurements of the angle-dependent anomalous Hall effect and magneto-optical Kerr effect with quantitative Stoner-Wohlfarth analysis. The magnetic easy axis continuously rotates in a spin-flop pathway by gating or temperature modulation. Such observations offer a new avenue for exploring magnetization switching mechanisms and realizing new spintronic functionalities.

GeP5, as the most representative phosphorus-based material in two-dimensional layered phosphorous compounds, has shown a fairly bright application prospect in the field of energy storage because of its ultrahigh electrical conductivity. However, high-yield exfoliation methods and effective structure construction strategies for GeP5 nanosheets are still missing, which completely restricts the further application of GeP5-based nanocomposites. Here, we not only improved the yield of GeP5 nanosheets by a liquid nitrogen-assisted liquid-phase exfoliation technique but also constructed the GeP5@RuO2 nanocomposites with the 0D/2D heterostructure by in situ introduction of ultrafine RuO2 nanoparticles on highly conductive GeP5 nanosheets using a simple hydrothermal synthesis method, and then applying it to micro-supercapacitors (MSCs) as electrode materials through a mask-assisted vacuum filtration technique. It is precisely because of the synergy of the electrical double-layer material, GeP5 nanosheets and the pseudocapacitance material RuO2 nanoparticles that endows the GeP5@RuO2 electrode with outstanding electrochemical performance in micro-supercapacitors with a large specific capacitance of 129.5 mF cm-2/107.9 F cm-3, high energy density of 17.98 μWh cm-2, remarkable long-term cycling stability with 98.4% capacitance retention after 10 000 cycles, the exceptional mechanical stability, outstanding environmental stability, and excellent integration features. This work opens up a new avenue to construct GeP5-based nanocomposites as a most promising novel electrode material for practical application in flexible portable/wearable micro-nanoelectronic devices.

Two-dimensional van der Waals (vdW) ferromagnetic materials have attached a significant attention for developing miniaturized electronic devices. Fe3GeTe2 (FGT) as two-dimensional vdW materials with intrinsic ferromagnetism has high Curie temperature, which have potential applications in overcoming microwave pollution and radiation. Herein, a single-crystal FGT is synthesized using a self-flux method and then dissociated into nanosheets via the liquid-phase exfoliation technique. Curie temperature of FGT nanosheets powder is approximately 230 K, which is close to room temperature. FGT nanosheets as microwave absorber exhibit low reflection loss (RL) due to poor impedance matching. The microwave absorption properties of FGT nanosheets are improved by introducing graphene nanosheets (GNS). FGT@GNS 1–2 composites exhibit excellent microwave absorption performance. The minimum RL of FGT@GNS 1–2 reach − 44.43 dB at a microwave frequency of 9.9 GHz, when thickness is only 1.45 mm. This meets the requirements of strong RL and thin thickness of microwave absorption materials, indicating that FGT@GNS composites have a potential application for overcoming microwave pollution and radiation.

Low dimensional semiconductors can be used for various electronic and optoelectronic devices because of their unique structure and property. In this work, one-dimensional Sb2S3 nanowires (NWs) with high crystallinity were grown via chemical vapor deposition (CVD) technique on SiO2/Si substrates. The Sb2S3 NWs exhibited needle-like structures with inclined cross-sections. The lengths of Sb2S3 nanowires changed from 7 to 13 μm. The photodetection properties of Sb2S3 nanowires were comprehensively and systematically characterized. The Sb2S3 photodetectors show a broadband photoresponse ranging from ultraviolet (360 nm) to near-infrared (785 nm). An excellent specific detectivity of 2.1 × 1014 Jones, high external quantum efficiency of 1.5 × 104 %, sensitivity of 2.2 × 104 cm2W−1 and short response time of less than 100 ms was achieved for the Sb2S3 NW photodetectors. Moreover, the Sb2S3 NWs showed outstanding switch cycling stability that was beneficial to the practical applications. The high-quality Sb2S3 nanowires fabricated by CVD have great application potential in semiconductor and optoelectronic fields.

The development of stable and low-cost catalysts with high reactivity to replace Pt-based ones is the central focus but challenging for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). The incorporation of single atoms into two-dimensional (2D) supports has been demonstrated as an effective strategy because of the highly active single atomic sites and extremely large surface area of two-dimensional materials. However, the doping of single atoms is normally performed on the surface suffering from low stability, especially in acidic media. Moreover, it is experimentally challenging to produce monolayered 2D materials with atomic doping. Here, we propose a strategy to incorporate single foreign Fe atoms to substitute W atoms in sandwiched two-dimensional WS2. Because of the charge transfer between the doped Fe atom and its neighboring S atoms on the surface, the proximate S atoms become active for HER. Our theoretical prediction is later verified experimentally, showing an enhanced catalytic reactivity of Fe-doped WS2 in HER with the Volmer-Heyrovsky mechanism involved. We refer to this strategy as proximity catalysis, which is expected to be extendable to more sandwiched two-dimensional materials as substrates and transition metals as dopants.

A fluorescence method for the quantitative detection of chloramphenicol (CAP) has been developed using phosphate and fluorescent dye 6-carboxy-x-rhodamine (ROX) double-labeled aptamers of CAP and the bimetallic organic framework nanomaterial Cu/UiO-66. Cu/UiO-66 was prepared by coordinate bonding of metal organic framework (MOF) nanomaterial UiO-66 with copper ions. Cu/UiO-66 contains a large number of metal defect sites, which can be combined with phosphate-modified nucleic acid aptamers through strong coordination between phosphate and zirconium to form "fluorescence turn-on" sensors. In the absence of CAP, all single-stranded aptamers were adsorbed on the surface of Cu/UiO-66 through π-π stacking between single-stranded DNA and Cu/UiO-66, which brings the ROX fluorophores and Cu/UiO-66 into close proximity. The ROX fluorescence of aptamers was then quenched by Cu/UiO-66 through photoinduced electron transfer (PET). In the presence of CAP, however, CAP reacted with nucleic acid aptamers to form a special spatial structure, in which the ROX fluorophores were far away from the MOF surface via a change in the spatial structure of the aptamers, and the fluorescence of ROX was able to be recovered. The quantitative detection of CAP can be achieved by measuring the fluorescence signal of ROX using synchronous scanning fluorescence spectrometry. Under optimum conditions, the fluorescence intensities of ROX exhibit a good linear dependence on the concentration of CAP in the range of 0.2-10 nmol/L, with a detection limit of 0.09 nmol/L. The method has advantages of high sensitivity, good selectivity, and a low limit of detection. Graphical abstract.

Temperature dependence of ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) frequency fFMR was revealed in Z-type hexaferrite (BaxSr1−x)3Co2Fe24O41 using microwave spectroscopy in zero external magnetic field. A linear decrease in fFMR toward magnetic phase transition temperature Tc2 = 500 K was observed, implicating magnetic anisotropy decrease. Ferromagnetic resonance studies performed near 9 GHz with the magnetic field up to 10 kOe also confirmed FMR anomaly near 500 K, where the magnetic structure changes from conical to collinear. FMR spectra are tunable by external dc and ac (100 kHz) electric fields which allowed us to determine the value of magnetoelectric coefficient αE = 390 ps/m at 170 K. αE is at about 0.5 kOe one order of magnitude lower than the reported value at 10 K, because in our case the electric field was applied along c-axis, while the previously reported value was obtained with the field in hexagonal plane. Nevertheless, our αE is still one or even four orders of magnitude higher than in other “high-temperature” multiferroics.
