Background: Sleep is an important resting state and essential part of life that could have effect on many aspects of life. Life style factors such as physical activity and consumption of certain foods have effect on quality and quantity of sleep. In this context, there were very few studies done in comparing dietary intake & sleep pattern. So, the present study is planned to be conducted among undergraduate engineering students. Objective: 1. To assess the dietary intake and sleep patterns among undergraduate students. 2. To determine the relationship between dietary intake and sleep quality. Methodology: A Cross-sectional analytical study was done among the undergraduate students of a government engineering college in November 2023. Students (n=200) were randomly selected and data was collected using pre-tested, semi structured questionnaire to assess the dietary intake and Pittsburgh sleep quality index questionnaire (PSQI) to assess sleep quality. Results: The mean age of the study population was 20.2 ± 1.6 years and 54.5% were female. Sleep quality was fairly good among 58%, good in 29%,fairly bad in 11.5%,and very bad in 1.5%. Participants skipping breakfast, lunch and dinner more than three times a week was reported to be 21%,10%, and 16.5% respectively. Conclusion: The quality and quantity of sleep can be influenced by the eating habits. Specific awareness regarding sleep and food intake should be created among the students, as in the long run NCD s can be prevented and to form a healthy nation.

Airless tyres are being developed in response to a growing need for safer tyres to address issues with pneumatic tyres. The constrained interaction between the spoke, hub, and outer ring has been identified as the cause of the lack of adjustability of airless tyres. Its complex interacted design makes the 'one-piece' airless tyre relatively expensive and extremely difficult to repair when damaged. This research focuses on developing a simpler version of a modular airless tyre that is cost-effective and easier to maintain for low-speed, heavy-duty drive applications, including off-road use for military vehicles and other purposes. The primary objectives were to identify and analyse the interactions of the airless tyre system's core components, generate the concept of modular airless tyre employing Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ) methodology and determine the final concept using Pugh method. Integrated functional analysis was performed to identify and analyse the interactions of airless tyre components. The solutions were generated using thirty-nine engineering parameters and a matrix of contradictions consisting of forty TRIZ principles of inventiveness. These inventive principle solutions were then refined into a specific solution strategy used to construct the modular airless tyre concept. As a result, four new innovative concepts for a modular airless tyre were generated based on the TRIZ principles #1 Segmentation, #6 Universality, #28 Replace Mechanical System, and #34 Rejecting and Regenerating Parts. Finally, the Pugh method was used to evaluate and determine the final concept of a modular airless tyre suitable for low-speed, heavy-duty drive applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Ample literature exists which time and over has established the association between overweight/underweight and fertility problems. Further in this context, it should be noted that there are very few studies in the Indian context regarding the effect of body mass index (BMI) on infertility in women. To evaluate the association of BMI with infertility among women in Tamil Nadu, India. An age-matched hospital-based case-control study was conducted including 204 women attending a tertiary care hospital in the Chengalpattu district of Tamil Nadu. Of these, 102 women who had a clinical diagnosis of infertility were selected as cases. Hospital controls were defined as women who did not have a clinical diagnosis of infertility and were selected after matching for age and years of marriage (± 2 years). BMI was calculated from the height and weight measurements taken during the time of recruitment to the study. Basic socio-demographic data were also collected from all the study participants. Among cases, 17.6% were underweight, 25.5% were overweight and 5.9% were obese. Whereas, among controls, 7.8% were underweight, 47.1% were overweight and 11.8% were obese. Among the cases, 68% had primary infertility and 32% had secondary infertility. Overweight and obese women had 2.82 odds (95% CI, 1.48 - 5.38) and 3.06 odds (95% CI, 1.05 - 8.93) respectively of having infertility when compared to women who fell within the normal BMI range. Both overweight and obesity were observed to be significantly associated with infertility. The focus should be given to the prevention and control of both as an effective means of reducing the risk of infertility and other associated disorders. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cholangiocarcinoma is the most common biliary tumor and a dreaded complication of choledochal cyst. However, the development of neuroendocrine tumor (NET) in choledochal cyst is very rare due to the paucity of Kulchitsky cells. Here, we are presenting a case report on primary NET in choledochal cyst. To date, only four case reports have been published globally and all of them were diagnosed postsurgically; this is the first case diagnosed prior. A 45-year-old female presented with abdominal pain. Imaging showed dilated common hepatic duct and proximal common bile duct with soft-tissue mass lesion in the lateral wall, infiltrating the liver with liver metastasis (suspected as cholangiocarcinoma). As the patient was inoperable, palliative care was planned. To have tissue diagnosis, we proceeded with endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography and brush cytology, but no malignant cells were detected. Image-guided biopsy was done, and surprisingly, the report came to be NET. To rule out occult metastasis elsewhere, positron emission tomography–computed tomography (DOTANOC) scan was done, which was suggestive of a primary bile duct growth with multiple liver metastases. Because of slow growth, nonfunctional nature, and clinical and radiological resemblance with cholangiocarcinoma, biliary tract NETs are very difficult to diagnose preoperatively. Aims & Objectives: To assess the diagnostic usefulness of a quick urine trypsinogen 2 strip test to blood amylase and lipase in instances with acute pancreatitis. Methods: Patients who may have an acute pancreatitis diagnosis and have recent onset of stomach pain are included. In these cases, serum samples of amylase and lipase are sent before a urine sample is examined using a dipstick test for urinary trypsinogen-2. Fifty-two participants were included in the research. Ultrasound and CECT abdomen were used to monitor patients and confirm the diagnosis. A number of metrics were computed and compared, including sensitivity, specificity, PPV, NPV, and accuracy. Result: During June 2022 and June 2023, 52 consecutive patients complaining of upper abdominal discomfort were included in the research. Acute pancreatitis was the diagnosed diagnosis in 45 of the 52 patients, whereas other causes of abdominal discomfort were present in 7 individuals. The pee dipstick test was positive in 44 of the 45 instances, but was negative in 5 of the 7 cases when the discomfort in the abdomen was caused by anything other than a urinary tract infection. It was shown to have a 97.78 percent sensitivity, a 71.43 percent specificity, and a 94.23 % accuracy. Conclusion: Acute pancreatitis may be diagnosed quickly and easily with a fast urine trypsinogen-2 test. This study shows that the dipstick test is just as accurate as the gold standard procedures and may be used alternately with them. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
