Occipital neuralgia is an uncommon cause of pain over occipital region. When occipital nerves are affected due to osteogenic / vasculogenic / neurogenic causes it is manifested as a sharp shooting or stabbing type of pain over the occipital region of scalp, often progressing to involve the vertex and the temporal region as well. Use and withdrawal of variety of drugs result in headache. The role of any chemotherapeutic drug, as a causative agent for occipital neuralgia, has not been described in literature so far. We are reporting a rare case of occipital neuralgia precipitated while on combination chemotherapy regimen in lung carcinoma.

This article presents an overview of the main challenges and lessons learned that were presented during the symposia organized by the Coalition to Strengthen the HPV Immunization Community (CHIC) in Africa and South Asia in 2022. Discussions at these meetings revolved around introduction, planning, implementation, and sustainability of HPV prevention and control programmes, with a particular focus in HPV immunisation, as well as cervical cancer screening in South Asian countries. This article also discusses the recently endorsed off-label single-dose HPV vaccination schedule and its potential impact on programme delivery and access. Furthermore, it highlights the importance of intersectional collaboration, effective communication and advocacy strategies, and the need for robust health information systems. Some of the critical factors identified for reducing the burden of cervical cancer in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) included strategies for increasing access and coverage, addressing vaccine hesitancy, and building capacity among health care providers. The symposia emphasized the importance of face-to-face interactions for collaboration and decision making, with live translation services enabling full participation by stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. Protein degradation and turnover under various environmental stresses is basically regulated by ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS), of which SKP1 is a very essential component. Isolation and cloning of an identified potential stress responsive candidate gene SKP1, was successfully done for the first time to fathom the role of SKP1 in drought tolerance at genetic level in drought tolerant mungbean cultivar Pratap, which was screened after a detailed physio-biochemical screening amongst seven popular mungbean cultivars. The cloned gene SKP1 (accession number KX881912) is 550 bp in length, encodes 114 amino acids. It shows high sequence homology with SKP1 from Zea mays (NP_001148633). The protein expression of isolated SKP1 was confirmed by GUS fused expression using a Histochemical assay under control as well as under drought stress. Further, up-regulation in relative expression level of SKP1 in different plant parts under drought stress confirmed its utility as a potential drought responsive candidate gene certainly demanding extensive genetic research for further incorporation in breeding programs. Moreover, the structure of VrSKP1 (Vigna radiata SKP1) has been modelled, validated and an Essential Dynamics (ED) was done on the Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulation trajectories for filtering large-scale concerted motions. Free-energy calculations on the ED revealed a complex free-energy landscape (FEL) implying the conformational diversity of the modelled VrSPK1 protein.

Aim: The present work investigates the efficacy of Polysorbate 80(P80) coated Kokum butter (KB) solid lipid nanoparticles (P80NvKLNs) for the brain targeted delivery of Nevirapine (Nv)., Methods: Solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs) were prepared by nanoprecipitation technique and evaluated for drug excipient compatibility studies, z- average particle size (nm), zeta potential (mv), percentage drug entrapment efficiency (%EE), surface morphology and in-vitro drug release properties. The in-vivo biodistribution and brain targeting efficiency of nanoparticles were studied in healthy male Wistar rat (150-200 g)., Results: P80NvKLNs were found to be smooth surfaced, spherical shaped having average particle size of 177.80 ± 0.82 nm, zeta potential of -8.91 ± 4.36 mv and %EE of 31.32 ± 0.42%. P80NvKLNs remained in blood circulation for 48 h maintaining a sustained release in brain for 24 h (p < 0.05)., Conclusion: The study proves the efficacy of Polysorbate 80 coated Kokum butter nanoparticles for brain-targeted delivery of drugs providing ample opportunities for further study.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(14)H(23)N(5)O(3)·2H(2)O, contains two crystallographically independent 6-amino-2,5-bis-(pivaloylamino)pyrimidin-4(3H)-one mol-ecules (A and B) with similar geometry and four water mol-ecules. In both independent mol-ecules, one of the amide groups is almost coplanar with the pyrimidine ring [dihedral angle of 12.85 (9) in A and 12.30 (10)° in B], whereas the other amide group is significantly twisted away from it [dihedral angle is 72.18 (7) in A and 71.29 (7)° in B]. In each independent mol-ecule, an intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond generates an S(6) ring motif. Mol-ecules A and B are linked into chains along the a axis by N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Adjacent chains are linked into a two-dimensional network parallel to the ac plane by water mol-ecules via N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
