Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic necessitated the emergence of decentralized Clinical Trials (DCTs) due to patient retention, accelerate trials, improve data accessibility, enable virtual care, and facilitate seamless communication through integrated systems. However, integrating systems in DCTs exposes clinical data to potential security threats, making them susceptible to theft at any stage, a high risk of protocol deviations, and monitoring issues. To mitigate these challenges, blockchain technology serves as a secure framework, acting as a decentralized ledger, creating an immutable environment by establishing a zero-trust architecture, where data are deemed untrusted until verified. In combination with Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled wearable devices, blockchain secures the transfer of clinical trial data on private blockchains during DCT automation and operations. This paper proposes a prototype model of the Zero-Trust Architecture Blockchain (z-TAB) to integrate patient-generated clinical trial data during DCT operation management. The EigenTrust-based Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance (T-PBFT) algorithm has been incorporated as a consensus protocol, leveraging Hyperledger Fabric. 6. Spatiotemporal pattern formation in nonlinear coupled reaction-diffusion systems with a mixed-type modal discontinuous Galerkin approach

Abstract

The nonlinear coupled reaction-diffusion (NCRD) systems are important in the formation of spatiotemporal patterns in many scientific and engineering fields, including physical and chemical processes, biology, electrochemical processes, fractals, viscoelastic materials, porous media, and many others. In this study, a mixed-type modal discontinuous Galerkin approach is developed for one- and two- dimensional NCRD systems, including linear, Gray-Scott, Brusselator, isothermal chemical, and Schnakenberg models to yield the spatiotemporal patterns. These models essentially represent a variety of complicated natural spatiotemporal patterns such as spots, spot replication, stripes, hexagons, and so on. In this approach, a mixed-type formulation is presented to address the second-order derivatives emerging in the diffusion terms. For spatial discretization, hierarchical modal basis functions premised on the orthogonal scaled Legendre polynomials are used. Moreover, a novel reaction term treatment is proposed for the NCRD systems, demonstrating an intrinsic feature of the new DG scheme and preventing erroneous solutions due to extremely nonlinear reaction terms. The proposed approach reduces the NCRD systems into a framework of ordinary differential equations in time, which are addressed by an explicit third-order TVD Runge-Kutta algorithm. The spatiotemporal patterns generated with the present approach are very comparable to those found in the literature. Abstract

In the contemporary era, blockchain technology has brought about a significant transformation in the realm of digital currency through innovations like Bitcoin. A blockchain serves as a decentralized ledger, ensuring an immutable record of transactions across a network. Recent observations indicate the pivotal role of blockchain technology not only in the financial sector but also in networking. This study considers blockchain as the essential link in establishing a genuinely decentralized, trustless, and secure environment for network nodes. The objective is to provide a systematic and comprehensive overview of futuristic endeavours in this domain. The exploration begins with an examination of the fundamental operational concepts of blockchains and how these systems achieve decentralization, security, and suitability. The focus then shifts towards addressing open research challenges within blockchain technologies, particularly in securing diverse communication networks such as Distributed Computing, Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks, Opportunistic Networks, and Delay Tolerant Networks. Abstract

This article investigates the effects of Atwood numbers on the flow physics of shock-driven elliptical gas inhomogeneity based on numerical simulations. We examine five different gases--He, Ne, Ar, Kr, and SF6--that are filled inside an elliptical bubble and surrounded by N2 in order to study flow physics. A high-order modal discontinuous Galerkin finite element approach is used to solve compressible Euler equations for all numerical simulations. In terms of validation studies, the numerical outcomes match the existing experimental data quite well. The findings show that the Atwood number has a significant impact on the characteristics of flow, including wave patterns, the development of vortices, the generation of vorticity, and bubble deformation. When the value of At is greater than zero i.e. At > 0, there is a notable divergence between the incident wave outside the bubble and the transmitted shock wave inside the bubble. Complex wave patterns, including reflected and newly transmitted shock, are seen during the encounter. Interestingly, the transmitted shock and incident shock waves move with the same rates at At = 0. While, compared to the incident shock wave, the transmitted shock wave moves more quickly for At < 0. The influence of Atwood number is then investigated in depth by looking at the vorticity production at the elliptical interface. Furthermore, in the analysis of vorticity production processes, the important spatial integrated domains of average vorticity, dilatational and baroclinic vorticity production terms, and evolution of enstrophy are extended. Finally, a quantitative research based on the interface qualities delves deeply into the influence of the Atwood number on the flow mechanics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Various investigations exhibit that driver's drowsiness lead to traffic accidents. It may lead to severe injuries such as brain injury or it may also lead to death. Therefore, to prevent people from accidents countermeasure device is needed as a reliable solution. So,this study comes up with a novel technique to describe driver's drowsiness. In this paper we applied HaarCascade algorithm is to analyse real time video of driver. OpenCV library is also used as tool here. These tools are used to describe the eyes of the driver. EAR (Eye Aspect Ratio) is used in this paper to find out whether the eyes are open or closed at a moment. Mouth Aspect Ratio (MAR) is also used as a vital factor here to describe driver's drowsiness as driver starts yawning just before the driver feels drowsy.
