In this study, a mechanically flexible structure, a cuboctahedral metal‐organic polyhedra (MOP) Cu24[5‐(octyloxy) isophthalic acid]24 Cu (II) paddlewheel clusters coordinated with (5‐(octyloxy) isophthalate), resulting in significantly enhanced hydrolytic stability are prepared. It should be noted that CuMOP‐1 exhibits evenly and symmetrically distributed non‐polar long alkyl chains and polar hydroxy groups, facilitating self‐assembly into higher‐order structures reminiscent of amphiphiles. Furthermore, the resultant CuMOP‐1 undergoes a phase change at 150–160 °C as confirmed temperature‐dependent Raman spectroscopy (RS), thermogravimetric analysis and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (TGA‐DSC). The possible use of Cu‐MOP‐1 for capturing mechanical energy is demonstrated by creating a flexible hybrid piezoelectric‐triboelectric nanogenerator (HP‐TENG). The resultant CuMOP‐1@ Polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF) membrane‐based HP‐TENG demonstrates enhanced triboelectric output voltage of 547.5 V, current density of 15.16 µAcm−2, and power density of 2.8 mWcm−2 due to its increased surface charge density and a substantial rise in the dielectric constant. Furthermore, the amphiphiles and phase change in CuMOP‐1 lead to ∽73% increase in voltage and 60% in current density of HP‐TENG in high‐temperature (140 °C) environments. HP‐TENG also exhibits exceptional temperature‐ and pressure‐sensing abilities, with sensitivities of 1.81 V°C−1 and 7.12 V°kPa−1, respectively, showcasing its feasibility over a wide range of temperatures and pressures. A series of tri-coordinated zinc alkyl complexes with the general molecular formula [κ2NE-{NHIRP(Ph)(E)N-Dipp}ZnEt] [R = Dipp (2,6-diisopropylphenyl), E = S (3a), Se (3b) and R = tBu (tert-butyl), E = S (4a), Se (4b)] bearing imino-phosphanamidinate chalcogenide ligands were prepared in good yields from the reaction between the protic imino-phosphanamidinate chalcogenide ligand [NHIRP(Ph)(E)NH-Dipp] [R = Dipp, E = S (1a), Se (1b) and R = tBu, E = S (2a), Se (2b)] and diethylzinc at room temperature. The molecular structures of all the zinc complexes were established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. In the solid state, all complexes exhibited a distorted trigonal planar geometry around the zinc ion. Metal-chalcogenide (Zn–S/Se) interactions were observed in the coordination sphere. These zinc alkyl complexes were employed as pre-catalysts in the hydroboration reaction of nitriles and esters to obtain the corresponding N,N-diborylamines and boronate esters, respectively, under ambient conditions. Noble gases, notably xenon, play a pivotal role in diverse high-tech applications. However, manufacturing xenon is an inherently challenging task, due to its unique properties and trace abundance in the Earth's atmosphere. Consequently, there is a pressing need for the development of efficient methods for the separation of noble gases. Using mild fluorographene chemistry, nitrogen-doped graphene (GNs) materials are synthesized with abundant aromatic regions and extensive nitrogen doping within the vacancies and holes of the aromatic lattice. Due to the organized interlayer "nanochannels", nitrogen functional groups, and defects within the two-dimensional (2D) structures, GNs exhibits effective selectivity for Xe over Kr at low pressure. This enhanced selectivity is attributed to the stronger binding affinity of Xe to GN compared to Kr. The adsorption is governed by London dispersion forces, as revealed by theoretical calculations using symmetry-adapted perturbation theory (SAPT). Investigation of other GNs differing in nitrogen content, surface area, and pore sizes underscores the significance of nitrogen functional groups, defects, and interlayer nanochannels over the surface area in achieving superior selectivity. This work offers a new perspective on the design and fabrication of functionalized graphene derivatives, exhibiting superior noble gas storage and separation activity exploitable in gas production technologies., (© 2024 The Author(s).
