In the personality of a teacher, his emotional creativity is an important counterpart. In current study, researchers have carried out an investigation of emotional creativity of trainee teachers of pre-service and in-service trainee teachers. The objectives were to compare the emotional creativity of Trainee teachers of Pre-service Courses and in-service Courses and to analyze the major aspects of emotional creativity of Trainee teachers. The findings suggest that Trainee Teachers of in-service training programme are more emotionally creative. On two aspects of emotional creativity i.e. emotional preparedness and effectiveness, trainee teachers of in-service course are much better, whereas on the aspect of novelty, there is no significant difference between trainee teachers of pre-service course and in-service course.

It is no longer possible to conceive of teacher education without ICTs. It is imperative for the teacher education institutions to wake up and reorganize their curriculum to accommodate the changing face of knowledge. This study conducted by the researcher in teacher education institutions related to availability and access of ICTs in these institutions during session 2008-09, brought forward the real scenario of ICT in teacher education institutions. For this study the researcher used a scale named "ICT Friendliness Scale" developed by Kumar and Singh (2008). Analysis indicates that there is not a single ICT facility, which is present in every teacher education institution. There is non-availability of facilities like Educational software pertaining to school subjects on CDs, Slide Projector, Networking in computer lab, Dial-up/ Broad band Internet Access, LCD Projector, Language Learning Software with Headphones, Electronic versions of common Encyclopedias and Electronic versions of common Encyclopedias in all the Government aided Teacher education Institutions sampled for the study.

A teacher is more near to students than any other during his school days. Students want to share each and every thing related to educational as well as personal matters with him. It reflects that a teacher has strong emotional bondage with students. In the light of above discussion researcher decided to carry out a research on trainee teachers to analyze their emotional intelligence in relation to their mode of training i.e. Pre-service training programme (B.Ed. Regular) and Inservice training programme (B.Ed. Distance mode). Research has been carried out on 182 trainee teachers (divided into two groups i.e. Pre-service training programme (B.Ed. Regular) and In-service training programme (B.Ed. Distance mode), using Emotional Intelligence Scale (EIS) by Anukool Hyde, Sanjyot Pathe and Upinder Dhar (2002). Mean, Standard deviation and "t"-test are used to analyze the data. The research has indicated that emotional intelligence of trainee teachers differs significantly in relation to their mode of training. It also has been observed that on the aspects like Self awareness, Emotional Stability, Managing Relation, Integrity, Self- development, Empathy and Value Orientation, trainee teachers of in-service course (B.Ed. Distance) are much better, whereas on the aspects like Self-motivation, Commitment and Altruistic behavior, the trainee teachers of pre-service course (B.Ed. Regular) are significantly better than trainee teachers in distance programme.

A doubly interpenetrated Cu(II)‐organic framework with formula [{Cu2(L)2(4,4′‐bpdc)2(H2O)2} ⋅ 8H2O ⋅ CH3OH]α (1) (where, L=N2, N6‐di(pyridin‐4‐yl)naphthalene‐2,6‐dicarboxamide and 4,4′‐bpdc=[1,1′‐biphenyl]‐4,4′‐dicarboxylate ion) has been synthesized and characterized with the help of several spectroscopic and analytical techniques including single crystal X‐ray analysis. A single crystal X‐ray analysis reveals that 1 exhibit interpenetrated two‐dimensional sheet‐like structure containing elongated channels of cross‐section 11.09×31.22 Å2 along the a‐axis. Finally, 1 has been exploited as a heterogeneous catalyst for the ipso‐hydroxylation of arylboronic acids yielding up to 99 % of the respective phenolic product. We report the synthesis and structural characterization of two coordination polymers (CPs), namely; [{Zn(L)(DMF)4} ⋅ 2BF4]α (1) and [{Cd(L)2(Cl)2} ⋅ 2H2O]α (2) (where L=N2,N6‐di(pyridin‐4‐yl)naphthalene‐2,6‐dicarboxamide). Crystal packing of 1 reveals the existence of channels running along the b‐ and c‐axis filled by the ligated DMF and lattice anions, respectively. Whereas, crystal packing of 2 reveals that the metallacycles of each 1D chain are intercalating into the groove of adjacent metallacycles resulting in the stacking of 1D loop‐chains to form a sheet‐like architecture. In addition, both 1 and 2 were exploited as multifunctional materials for the detection of nitroaromatic compounds (NACs) as well as a catalyst in the ipso‐hydroxylation of aryl/heteroarylboronic acids. Remarkably, 1 and 2 showed high fluorescence stability in an aqueous medium and displayed a maximum 88% and 97% quenching efficiency for 4‐NPH, respectively among all the investigated NACs. The mechanistic investigation of NACs recognition suggested that the fluorescence quenching occurred via electron as well as energy transfer process. Furthermore, the ipso‐hydroxylation of aryl/heteroarylboronic acids in presence of 1 and 2 gave up to 99% desired product yield within 15 min in our established protocol. Ferromanganese nodules of CIOB contains significant concentrations of Mn, Cu, Ni, Zn, Co and rare earth elements (REEs). To decide occurrence and enrichment processes of those metals in nodules, we carried out excessive-resolution mineralogical and geochemical research on Mn-nodules. Nodules display an excessive average abundance of Mn (avg. 25.63%), slight Fe (avg. 8.91%) and low contents of trace elements and REEs compared to moderate content of nodules from different oceanic areas. Some crucial metals of economic interest, notably Co, Cu, Ni, Mo, and Zn are lower in nodules of CIOB than in nodules from different oceans. They are rich in REEs, Fe, Mn, Cu, Co, Mo, Ni, Zn and other useful metals. Here, Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), an experimental technique with characteristics of correct principle, apparent interference, smooth operation, and reliable results have been used for bulk chemical analyses for trace and REEs of various size nodules. Twentynine elements viz. V, Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Zn, Rb, Sr, Nb, Mo, Cs, Ba, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, Hf, Pb, Th and U were measured. The concentrations of these twenty-nine elements in nodules are strategic REEs resource and could be used for resource exploration, environmental assessment and will likely catalyze further advanced analysis investigation of seabed resources in CIOB. Herein, we report the syntheses and characterization of two novel CdII-based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) with the formulae: [{Cd(INH)(hpdia)}·3H2O]α (Cd-MOF-1) and [{Cd(INH)(bdc)}·DMF]α (Cd-MOF-2) (INH = isoniazid, hpdia = 5-(4-hydroxyphenylazo)isophthalic acid, and H2bdc = 1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid) using the mixed ligand and solvothermal protocol. Single crystal X-ray analysis reveals that Cd-MOF-1 and Cd-MOF-2 display overall 2D porous framework architectures. Cd-MOF-1 and Cd-MOF-2 have a two-dimensional zigzag network composed of a 4-connected uninodal network with sql topology and point symbol {4·4·6·2}. TGA analysis suggests that Cd-MOF-1 and Cd-MOF-2 are thermally stable. These MOFs exhibit fascinating luminescence properties. Cd-MOF-2 shows intense blue emission whereas Cd-MOF-1 shows nearly visibly intense white light emission with a CIE index of (0.34, 0.32) having a color correlated temperature (CCT) of 5121 K. We report the syntheses and structural characterization of a Zn(II) metallacycle [Zn2{(L)2(DMF)2(NO3)2}]·(NO3)2 (1) along with a Cd(II) coordination polymer [{Cd1(L)2(DMF)2}·(NO3)2]n (2) (where L = N,N′-bis-(3-pyridyl)terephthalamide; DMF = dimethylformamide) and their utilization as fluorescent probes for highly selective recognition (turn-off) of Fe3+ and CrO42− ions. Compounds 1 and 2 were prepared by utilizing ligand L and the nitrate salt of zinc and cadmium, respectively. Single crystal X-ray analysis reveals that 1 adopts an overall Zn(II) metallacycle architecture, whereas 2 displays a one-dimensional (1D) polymeric structure. Both 1 and 2 showed high fluorescence stability in aqueous solution and selectively detected Fe3+ and CrO42− ions with high quenching constants and low detection limits of 2.34 × 106 M−1 and 0.153 μM for Fe3+, 6.72 × 105 and 0.205 μM for CrO42− (for 1); 3.25 × 106 and 0.193 μM for Fe3+, 6.94 × 105 and 0.155 μM for CrO42− (for 2). Notably, ligand L itself did not display any type of recognition for any ions in DMF as well as in aqueous media. Moreover, 1 and 2 were also employed as heterogeneous catalysts for the ring-opening reaction (ROR) of epoxides with various assorted amines and up to 95% yield (TON, 47.5 and TOF, 11.9 h−1) was observed with perfect regioselectivity in the case of styrene oxide. Two copper(ii) coordination polymers, viz. [Cu2(OAc)4(μ4-hmt)0.5]n (1) and [Cu{C6H4(COO−)2}2]n·2C9H14N3 (2), have been synthesized solvothermally and characterized. The solid-state structure reveals that 1 is an infinite three-dimensional (3D) motif with fused hexagonal rings consisting of Cu(ii) and hmt in a μ4-bridging mode, while 2 is an infinite two dimensional (2D) motif containing Pht−2 in a μ1-bridging mode. CP 1 has a two-fold interpenetrated diamondoid network composed of 4-connected sqc6 topology with the point symbol of {66}, while 2 has a Shubnikov tetragonal plane network possessing a 4-connected node with an sql topology with a point symbol of {44·.62}-VS [4·4·4·4·*·*]. Both CPs 1 and 2 serve as efficient catalysts for CO2-based chemical fixation. Moreover, 1 demonstrates one of the highest reported catalytic activity values (%yield) among Cu-based MOFs for the chemical fixation of CO2 with epoxides. 1 shows high efficiency for CO2 cycloaddition with small epoxides but its catalytic activity decreases sharply with the increase in the size of epoxide substrates. The catalytic results suggested that the copper(ii) motif-catalyzed CO2 cycloaddition of small substrates had been carried out within the framework, while large substrates could not enter into the framework for catalytic reactions. The high efficiency and size-dependent selectivity toward small epoxides on catalytic CO2 cycloaddition make 1 a promising heterogeneous catalyst for carbon fixation and it can be used as a recoverable stable heterogeneous catalyst without any loss of performance. The solvent-free synthesis of the cyclic carbonate from CO2 and an epoxide was monitored by in situ FT-IR spectroscopy and an exposed Lewis-acid metal site catalysis mechanism was proposed. The title compound, C14H13N3O5 (HMNP), was synthesized by the simple condensation of p-nitrophenylhydrazine with dehydroacetic acid (DHA) in a 1:1 molar ratio in ethanol. HMNP has been characterized by using FT-IR, ¹H and 13C NMR and UV-Vis spectroscopic and single-crystal X-ray diffraction techniques. The crystal packing reveals strong hydrogen bonds between the NH group and the carbonyl O atom of dihydropyranone moiety, forming chains along [101]. The thermal stability of the synthesized compound was confirmed by thermogravimetric analysis and it was found to be stable up to 513 K. The UV-Vis spectrum shows the presence of a strong band at λmax 394 nm. ¹H NMR and single-crystal X-ray analyses confirmed the presence of the enol form of the ligand and dominance over the keto form.
