Abstract

Abstract—The study is related to the investigation of hysteretic and magnetostrictive properties of single-layer Fe10Ni90 films and nano-structured [Fe10Ni90/Cu]p/Fe10Ni90 films, in which magnetostrictive layers are separated with a nonmagnetic interlayer. The magnetostriction effect is shown to depend on the total layer thickness; in this case, the magnetostriction of the [Fe10Ni90/Cu]p/Fe10Ni90 film structures was found to be higher than that of the single-layer Fe10Ni90 films. The observed peculiarity is associated with weakening the fixing effect of a substrate. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

The influence of the thickness of the nanoscale ferrimagnetic Tb-Co layers on the mag-netic properties of Tb-Co/Ti and Tb-Co/Si multilayers was studied. The fanning cone angle of Tb-Co sperimagnetic structure changes non-monotonously with a decrease of the Tb-Co layer thickness. This study was supported by RFBR (grant 17-02-00236-a).

Abstract

The influence of the Ti spacer on the exchange bias in (Dy-Co)/(Fe-Ni) multilayers was investigated. It is shown that a change in the thickness of the spacer can lead not only to a change in the value of the exchange bias, but also to a change in the magnetization reversal of the interacting layers. Abstract

It is shown that in the Fe10Ni90 film the easy magnetization axis can be formed not along the deposition field, as it occurs in the Fe19Ni81 film, but across, that is a "negative anisotropy" effect occurs. A model that qualitatively describes this effect is proposed. Using the Kerr magnetometer, local measurements of the variation of the direction of the easy magnetization axis over the area of the film sample Fe10Ni90 were carried out and compared with the general view of the domain structure. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Abstract

This work is devoted to studying the effect of the thickness and type of the buffer sublayer on the magnetic anisotropy and the magnetoelastic properties of Fe10Ni90 films. It is established that the anisotropy of Fe films strongly depends on thickness, which can be associated with the influence of several mechanisms of anisotropy formation. Measurements of the magnetostriction of thin films using magnetoresistive curves were made. The value of the magnetostriction constant also depends on the thickness of the films. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Abstract

In this work a systematic study of magnetic properties of amorphous TbxCo100-x and DyxCo100-x films is presented. In a composition range 15 < x < 40 at. %, temperature dependencies of spontaneous magnetization in a temperature interval 5 - 300 K as well as low-temperature 5 K hysteresis loops in magnetic field up to ±70 kOe have been obtained. We demonstrated, that the experimental results can be interpreted in a framework of a model considering a variable sperimagnetic cone angle of rare earth atoms up to 150. A series of Tb-Dy-Co films with a composition close to Laves phase has been obtained. We demonstrated that the variation of rare earth content with Co content fixed does not lead to a systematic lowering of magnetic hysteresis. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

25. Experimental Study and Modeling of the Magnetic Properties of Dy–Co Films.

Abstract

Systematic data on the structural state and magnetic properties of films belonging to the binary Dy100 –xCox system have been measured within broad ranges of compositions (0 ≤ x < 85), temperatures (5‒300 K), and magnetic fields (0–70 kOe). It was found that in the absence of magnetic moment on Co atoms (x ≤ 50), the films are in an asperomagnetic state, in which a considerable and nonmonotonical concentration change in the principal magnetic characteristics is observed. In the region of x > 50, the films have a sperimagnetic structure. It has been shown that the quantitative description of spontaneous magnetization in such a state can be obtained in the molecular field model. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

32. Spontaneous Spin Reorientation in Gd–Co Amorphous Films.

Abstract

The phenomenon of spontaneous spin reorientation in Gd–Сo amorphous films, which results from the competition between the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy and shape anisotropy, is studied. It is shown that the reorientation occurs via the formation of a fine-grained nonuniform magnetic structure called hypercritical state in a wide temperature range. Magnetic domains in the spin-reorientation region are characterized using magnetic and magneto-optical measurements. Based on the experimental magnetometric data and results of simulating the temperature dependences of spontaneous magnetization, the phase diagram of the films containing 16–26 at % Gd is constructed, which, being plotted on coordinates elemental composition—temperature, exhibits the ranges of existence of the perpendicular anisotropy, transition magnetic anisotropy (hypercritical state), and planar magnetization state.
