In the diploma thesis named " How the Covid-19 pandemic affected the living situation of seniors in a retirement home", first I focus on theoretical terms such as senior, ageing, old age, retirement home, the Covid-19 pandemic, but I also want to point to the topic of the vulnerability of the elderly in a retirement home and the mental health of a person in the old age with regard to the chosen topic of this diploma thesis. Part of my thesis is also qualitative research, which is an inquiry with the help of semi-structured interviews with seniors in a retirement home. With respondents, I focus on four main topics that outline the overall process of their pandemic experience. At the end of this thesis I analyzes the perception of the residence of the clients in a retirement home in Ústí nad Labem during the pandemic from their point of view and this way I bring an insight of experiencing a 2.5-year pandemic in a retirement home thanks to the experiences of individual respondents.

This thesis deals with the cooperation of foster parents, Department of social and legal protection of children and accompanying organizations on the performance of foster care. The thesis contains both theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part of the thesis contains four chapters. It is based on an analysis of professional sources. The first chapter deals with the definition of basic concepts, legislative definition and a brief historical outline in the field of alternative family care. The second chapter focuses on the specifics of foster care with regard to the needs of children coming to foster families, defines the rights and obligations of foster parents and foster care benefits. The third chapter contains a basic description of social and legal protection of children in the Czech Republic and defines the role of the Department of social and legal protection of children in the context of foster care. The core of the chapter is the process of mediation of foster care. The fourth chapter describes the work of accompanying organizations and key workers. This thesis deals the importance of social services for people with mental disabilities. The aim was to introduce the wider public to social services and their necessity for people with mental disabilities. The research was based on interviews with five respondents, from which case studies were developed and the results show that social services are an important tool for people with mental disabilities and their parents or carers to integrate into mainstream society and thus be able to live a full life to the maximum extent possible given the degree of disability. It concludes with concrete examples of the use of social services to help and mitigate the effects of living with an mental disability.

The main goal of my diploma thesis was to find out, how successful it is to integrate people over cerebral apoplexy into normal social and working life. The theoretical part introduces the reader to the cerebral apoplexy as such. It also deals with phatic disorders caused by cerebral apoplexy and brain trauma, rehabilitation and its possibilities, communication, and communication training and, last but not least, social services. In this thesis, I chose a qualitative method to obtain data using a semi-structured interview. At the end of this diploma thesis, the results of the research survey are processed and interpreted.

8 Abstract In my thesis, I study the topic of social work with an endangered child. I was trying to bring up the subject of those children who find themselves in a dangerous situation for them and also how situations can be handled. I describe what constitutes an endangered child and what groups they divide into. I also deal with the issue of abused children and also with the CAN syndrome, which is very important for me. I also mention here the disruption of the attachement, which is not so often taken into account by us and it is important for me to talk about it and know about it. A big chapter in my thesis is the subject of the Child at Risk System, which contains facilities for children requiring immediate assistance, child welfare facilities, specialist counselling facilities, social educational activities, facilities for children in need of immediate assistance, as well as education camps for children. I list the services that are provided to children and families at risk. Supporting the physical activity of clients with serious mental illness in Prague Abstract The aim of this diploma thesis was how social workers perceive the possibilities of supporting regular physical activity of clients with serious mental illness. The research part was carried out using a questionnaire survey conducted among social services workers focused on the care of mental illness and operating in Prague. The study involved 37 respondents, among whom there was an equal representation of those who work within multidisciplinary teams (CDZ or facilities of this type, where they are provided together with social services and health services), as well as those who work in facilities providing only social services. Through a questionnaire survey, it was found that in multidisciplinary teams, where the health services component is also represented, more attention is paid to the support of appropriate regular physical activity in these types of facilities. The categories of 'ethnicity' or 'Roma' could obscure the whole topic, as they may suggest an idea that the socially excluded are somehow special or unrecognizable. It is therefore very important to use these categories clearly and specifically. That is what I am trying to do in this thesis. The theoretical part is divided into three main parts: the dynamic model of practice, culturally sensitive social work and the chapter entitled Roma. In the first part, the dynamic model, I try to have a look at the practical implementation of social work as described by Karen Healy (from page 10 onwards). I also explore the areas that influence the interactions between the social worker and their client. The dynamic model is focused on professional goals, which are made up of four areas: the institutional context, the needs and expectations of the service users and the community, the professional foundation, and an emerging framework for practice that develops through critical reflection on professional experience. The "Activation of Older People as a Professional Qualification" diploma thesis deals with the activation of older people and with the professionalization and professionalism of activation staff as professional workers. The thesis also focuses on the designing of activation methods as a professional tool that is to be beneficial to any pre-defined objectives of the activation and also successfully finalized. A key element in the process is the emphasis placed on the professional knowledge of activation, its principles, the possibility of designing the procedures from a holistic point of view, and the subsequent planning of activation collectively, with respect to a team, as well as individually, in a manner that is tailored to the client. In this thesis, I define the profession of an activation worker as highly professional, requiring an active dialogue between the activation worker as the guarantor of activation and the activated, as a person who needs to achieve predetermined goals through activation. In thesis on the topic "Social work methods used in clients with mental disorders and their effectiveness" I focus on the terminology. I am going to learn basic information about selected mental disorders such as schizophrenia, affective disorders, specifically bipolar disorder, neurotic disorders, specifically obsessive-compulsive disorder and lastly personality disorders, namely borderline personality disorder. Next, I am going to focus on the treatment possibilities of mental disorders, where I speak about the prevention and social worker approach. I continue with social survey and treatment&care for people with mental disorders. Finally, I am going to write about social work methods. The main goal of my thesis was to find what methods of social work are used at work with clients suffering mental disorders. The thesis was divided into two parts. The first part deals with selected long-term impacts of cannabis use and basic concepts such as history, methods of application, use or legislation. In order to understand the whole issue, the basic components of the cannabis plant and their effects. The main part of the theory was then devoted to the possibilities of social work in the field of addiction, but also health complications and therapeutic effects of cannabis. The first part was built on a professional basis literature that addresses this topic. As the work dealt with a very current topic, the latest HARP treatment program was also mentioned. In the second part of the work semi-structured interviews were performed in order to confirm the theoretical part of the work and bring a certain authenticity to the work. The goal was to offer to the reader comprehensive information about cannabis in one place, clearly and transparently. The negatives and the positives that this plant can cause as a result of use were analyzed.

1 Abstact In the text of my diploma thesis on the topic "Homelessness as a consequence of poverty" I deal with three fundamental topics.The first topic is homelessness.Here I deal with the definitiv of homelessness, how homelessness is divided.There as on why people find themselves on the streets are living in institutional settings such as children's homesor in prisons. The first charter describes the history of social work and social work with homeless people at present. In the second chapter I deal with poverty. The beginning of the charter explains the types of poverty we may encounter. It describes poverty in the world and in the Czech Republic and the trade in poverty, which is a very current topic.The last topic is public guardianship. Here I focus on explaining the fiction of guardianship, its rights and obligations to its clients.In the case study of my work, I focused on identifying possible causes for people in the public guardianship system.

87 Abstract This master thesis was focused on Validation method, whose author is an American social worker Naomi Feil, who created this as a help with communication with disoriented elderly people. The aim of the thesis was describe Validation, it's theoretical background which was set by The author herself and find out how is this method used in actual work with the disoriented old people in czech care homes. Thesis was divided in to two parts - theoretical and emipirical. In the first part was mainly concentrated on explaining the method itself. It's principles, reasons for origin, Validation techniques and use of Validation in czech environment. Empirical part was focused on finding out how practical usage of Validation looks like. To find out I used questionnaire that was send to care homes, where the employees finished some Validation training which was also criterion for choosing these respondents. From these results of the research I can say that the theoretical basis created by Naomi Feil is mostly not used in czech care homes. The death of a loved one is currently a very common topic, and it is important for a social worker to keep it in mind. This thesis is called "The Phenomena of Death in a Social Worker's Job". The theoretical part was made by using analysed relevant literature, chosen by snowballing sampling. This thesis is divided into three chapters. The first two chapters focus on the theory and definition of death, anticipation and sudden death, suicide, mourning and options to help the survivors. The third chapter contains the practical part, with research data, including charts and graphical interpretation. The goal of this empiric research is to use semi-structured online surveys to answer the main research question: "How do students of the second year of postgraduate study of major SACH at HTF UK feel about their readiness to handle death of their clients and confrontation with survivors during their work?" I was trying to find out whether students at our faculty are considering this topic and how they feel about it. 1 Abstract The diploma thesis entitled "The Issue of resocialization of persons released from prison" deals with the possibilities of resocialization of persons released from prison. The diploma thesis is focused on how social workers working with prisoners, or ones released from prison, perceive the possibilities of resocialization of these people. The theoretical part deals with criminal law in the Czech Republic, behavioral disorders and their possible resocialization, criminal behavior, penology. It further explains post-penitentiary care, describes what is included in this care and how this tool is used. Last but not least the existing resocialization programs for those ones released from imprisonment are presented in this thesis. The aim of the survey is to answer the research question "How do social workers working with prisoners or persons released from VTOS perceive the possibilities of resocialization of these persons? ".

This diplom thesis deals with forensic social work. It is a direction of social work, and the expression of forensic social work can be found mostly in foreign literature. The aim of this work is to define forensic social work with regard to our legal system and law 108/2006 on social services, to anchor this definition in the Czech social and legal system and to follow the development of other fields such as forensic psychology, anthropology and sociology that forensic social work is part of intrdisciplinary and international cooperation and cooperation in the forensic sciences. 1 Abstract This dissertation is talking about the topic: practical impact of social services on the quality of life and physical disposition of mentally diseased people. Using professional literature symptoms of the disease were processed, which are characterized by a psychosis and a disruption of the contact with the reality. A treatment and social worker's approach were described to these symptoms. In following chapters the dissertation is dedicated to social security of the patient, new methods when working with the client and also to ethics. The aim of this dissertation was to find out which impact social services have on the life of a mentally diseased person. Using interviews with social workers, questions to the given aim were answered. As a supplement to the dissertation, case studies of people with a mental disease were compiled. These case studies together with interviews are very beneficial and prove that social services are key in the life of mentally diseased person.

ABSTRAKT The goal: The goal of this work was to clarify the ways the social work is presented and how the forum for physically afflicted persons is created on the web portal "Lidemezilidmi", run by a company "Dobre misto", z.s. Additional intent was to show the specifics of mental illnesses and problems, connected with these illnesses, with which the clients (patients) contact this web portal most frequently. Methodology: based on the questionnaire, distributed by the company "Dobre misto", z.s., with the support from the Norwegian Fonds in connection with a project "Information Activity", the intent is to reform the psychiatric care. Results: all together, 130 valid replies were returned. Conclusion: the lives of people with disabilities, caused by illness, injury, or a genetic disposition, have one thing in common - with the mental health come social complications, problems at work, troubles in relationships, etc. However, the stories of individuals with mental and social problems vary widely. Mental illness, unlike physical disability, is not apparent at first glance, although it often causes problems to the affected person. The thesis called Illegal work deals with illegal employment of foreigners in the Czech Republic, which is in most cases connected with trafficking in human beings for the purpose of forced labor. The first chapter is generally devoted to the definition of the concept of illegal work under Act No. 435/2004 Coll. on Employment and Act No. 262/2006 Coll. Labour Code. The second chapter brings the view of the employee, employer and the state on illegal work. The following third chapter focuses on the sectors in which illegal work occurs most often. The fourth chapter describes the working conditions of employees who are illegally employed and are exploited in every possible way, especially in terms of pay, working conditions or working hours. The fifth chapter contains factors that affect the exploitation of migrant workers and trafficking in human beings for the purpose of forced labor. This diploma thesis is to acquaint with people with intellectual disability. Basicaly it deals with terminology associated with intelectual disability, definitions, types of intellectual disability, symptoms and causes. One of the chapters is devoted to the principles of communication of people with mental disabilities and auxiliary communication techniques. Next it focuses on Portus organization, which has been working with this target group for over 20 years. It provides several social services, about which we gathered basic information and based them on the law on social services. The last chapter in the theoretical part is devoted to the burnout syndrome, which is in the opinion of helping professions and in social work, not least, a more common phenomenon than we can imagine. The investigation itself took place in the above- mentioned organization, where I distributed questionnaires on satisfaction with the services to several groups of respondents. In the practical part, I evaluated these questionnaires and evaluated them with other services. The evaluation showed that the clients are satisfied with the support provided and the employees and guardians (family members) perceive the situation in a very similar way. In this thesis I deal with the topic of help to the seniors in crisis situations, through the social service emergency hotline of Život 90. The first part is fucused on the old age topic and its problematics. There is also detailed analysis of the emergency hotline with its possibilities and limit. There is part dedicated to the description of the technical equipment, as well as social work that is being exercised there. Part of the thesis is dedicated to the statistical information, focued on the number of active users and the number of cancellations of registrations. The practical part is dedicated to the research that maps the satisfaction and trust of the clients to the emergency hotline of the Život 90. Finally, the closing part, deals with number of case reports.

1 Abstract Thesis Burnout syndrome amowg social workers in residental service deals with the issue of burnout as such. It focuses on the definition of the term as well as its development. So are related phenomena - stress, depression, fatigue, but also existential neurosis. It also mentions internal and external influences, which can often be the cause of burnout, as well as high-risk persons - ie the most risky types of personality as well as professions who often fall victim to burnout. In the second large chapter, the common symptoms of burnout are described and what changes occur in a person who is affected by burnout. In the third chapter are introduced individual options of prevention of burnout but also supervision, which is also helpful against the burnout. This chapter also describes the diagnostic methodology - various methods that help to identify or detect certain changes in the worker's behavior and thus to re-evaluate their behavior in a timely manner. In the final chapter - fourth is carried out quantitative research through a questionnaire. The collected data are then evaluated and presented in a graphical representation.

The Bachelor thesis entitled "Influence of occupational therapy on clients with intellectual and multiple disabilities" is focused on the effect of occupational therapy on people with disabilities. The theoretical part deals with the issue of the concept of occupational therapy, looks at its history and origin and defines the concept of mental retardation and Down syndrome. The second part focuses on the employment rate of people with intellectual disabilities. I'm finding out, how the therapy works upon them and whether it is beneficial for them. In the survey I used the method of observation and a partly free conversation. The results of the observation are processed in a detailed description of the client's skills, their evaluation and recommendation of further treatment.

In my thesis I deal with the specifics of social work with clients with hearing defects. The purpose of my work was to find out what experiences the students of Czech schools have with people with hearing impairments and how they orient themselves in this issue. This thesis is divided into two main parts: Theoretical and Practical. The theoretical part of my work is divided into twelve chapters, which are focused on surdopaedia, hearing impairment, diagnostics, hearing screening, education and last but not least communication, compensatory aids and specifics of social work. In the practical part I used the questionnaire to find out basic information from students from the Hussite Theological Faculty. I was wondering if there are students at the faculty who are interested in this issue and whether they would like to work with people with hearing impairment in the future.

The profession of a social worker has a significant role in the society context. The task of the social worker is to help people to solve their problems, cope with difficult everyday life situations, provide courage for active solutions and reinforce the responsibility for one's own life. This thesis presents the social worker's profession and it is divided into six main chapters. In theoretical segment social work is defined in the first chapter. The second chapter contains information on history of the social work and analyses the current state of it. The third chapter is devoted to the ethics of social work, ethical dilemmas, ethical code and professional values. The fourth chapter defines the social worker's profession, mentions the required personal qualities and competences as well as its roles. Furthermore, it describes the characteristics of the profession itself and professional identity, studies the prestige of the profession and education of social workers. The practical part starts with the fifth chapter and it maps the opinions of social workers about their profession. The research strategy, the selection of the respondents and course of the survey and the data evaluation methods are described there. The final chapter interprets the collected data and provides their graphical depictions.

1 Abstrakt Diploma thesis "Consequences of low unemployment for social work in the Rychnov nad Kneznou region" concerns about negative consequences of low unemployment on the citizens of the Rychnov nad Kneznou region, especially about impact on traffic and social infrastructure and criminality. The first chapter is given to unemployment overall and to statistics of unemployment in the Czech Republic. The second one brings statistic view of demography and regional unemployment in Rychnov nad Kneznou. The third chapter is focused on foreigners and their statistics in terms of the Czech Republic and the Rychnov nad Kneznou region. In the fourth chapter are described particular negative results caused by low unemployment in this region. The last final chapter contains the practical part where is done examination of citizens' opinions in three chosen microregions about this matters. This examination was done by survey and its result is statement that citizens in the center of happening does not think the situation is as bad as the citizens in other two microregions (which are quite isolated from the core of issues by distance) think it is.

9 Summary This thesis deals with obsessive-compulsive disorder in connection with the practice of social work. It draws attention to numerous problems of anxiety disorders in society, risk factors for the development of anxiety disorders and risks in the social sphere. It also analyzes in detail obsessions, compulsions, manifestations and diagnosing of OCD and, last but not least, the practice of social work with the obsessive-compulsive disorder. Social work with people suffering from obsessive-compulsive disorder may be more challenging overall, requiring increased patience, knowledge of social workers, and the ability to use some important methods. The same importance is dedicated to managing clients to refer to follow-up professional help. People with OCD deserve support from experts and acceptance by the public, which is also a reason why it is so important to have knowledge of obsessive-compulsive disorder and do not underestimate this issue..

This Diploma Thesis focuses on the divorce of matrimony and its influence on children. It is attempting to provide a compact basic overview of how difficult time in life it can be. What are the needs and fears of children whose family is breaking apart. The aim of the Thesis is to map out the needs of the children in time of divorce and find out what kind of influence it had on them when they were growing up. The theoretical part consists of specialised literature that will be of help to us in understanding the divorce issues specifically in the area of the children's needs and fears during the uneasy life situations as a divorce. Empirical part is concerned with phenomenological approach. With the help of halfstructured interview with adults whose parents got a divorce during their pubescence and adolescence. Interview which maped out the needs according to Maslow's hieararchy of needs. The intention is to point out the fulfilling and unfulfilling needs of children at the times of their parent's divorce. Next there are recommendations, that should not be forgotten when it comes to a divorce, for parents from the respondents. In this dissertation, I will attempt to describe a child's reaction to a death of a close person (parent). To do that, I separated my paper into two parts. The first part sets out the theoretical framework for death, its role in our lives, and the underlying processes. The second part, a qualitative research, applies the theoretical framework on a specific case and draws from an in-depth interview.

Purpose of this thesis is to describe process, history, progress and risks of transformation of Social Services in Czech Republic. Target of this thesis is not transformation of Social Sevices in Czech Republic generally but it is targeted on Nalžovický zámek organization, Social Services provider where transformation is in progress from 2013. In thesis I investigate how clients using supported housing perceive this service in context of quality of their life. Used information are extract from professional literatury and Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs website. Main used method is narative interview. Thesis has six chapters. Results of my research are presented in chapter five and I consider this chapter as most important. 1 Abstract I wrote my thesis on "The New Trends in Foster Care". My work aimed to find out the opinions of foster parents on the chase of the alternative family care system which was formed by the amendment of the Act on social and legal protection of children in 2013. In the theoretical part, I was dealing with the changes that occurred in the amendment, I characterized variol forms of alternative family care and I described the preparation of foster parents and applicants. In the practical part, I described a survey which, after the evaluation, pointed out to the issue of foster care after its amendment in 2013, from the point of view of foster parents. By this survey the information on satisfaction with changes to the current alternative family care system, on the need for foster care for a transitional period, and also information on co-operation with social workers was received.
